Desmond Morris: The Naked Ape's Legacy

0:00On April 20th, zoologist and TV star Desmond Morris died at 98, leaving behind a legacy of blending animal science with human behavior. He shot to fame in 1967 with his blockbuster book The Naked Ape, which sold millions worldwide by treating people like just another animal species. Morris passed on Sunday in Ireland where he settled after his wife or Mona died in 2018. Following on, he served two years in the British Army starting in 1946, then dove into zoology at the University of Birmingham and earned. His doctorate at Oxford, studying bird mating habits. By 1956, he became the face of ITV zoo time, running it till 1967, while also curating mammals at London Zoo for eight years.
