Derby's Tram Revival: A New Era for Transport

They predict around 75,000 daily riders, mostly folks ditching their cars for faster, cleaner rides. LRTA Chair Paul Rowan says it'll cut congestion and deliver a modern system without the downsides of buses or cars. They're eyeing big funding from the East Midlands Combined County Authority, which just locked in up to 2 billion pounds from the government. The biggest transport cash injection in a generation, Derby had trams running for 30 years back in the early 1900s before cars took over.
