1:08Hey guys, welcome to The Noise Breaks. Listen, James Taloriko, he's a hair tick, and I want to tell you why I say that. Now, he says that God is non-binary. He said that in a testimony in a hearing a couple of years ago. A lot of people are coming to his defense. He sees himself as some kind of theologian that's now running for Senate in Texas. Well, I'm going to spend my time calling him out on this. He was like, well, it's open to interpretation. Well, it's not. It's really not. There's some fundamental things of the faith that are glaring. They stare at us right in the face. And when you start taking those things and reinterpreting them, reimagining the interpretation of the scripture, the Bible, in order to fit your political ideologies and leanings in order to get something across in our modern world. You got problems here. You're on the point of this thing called blasphemy.

2:08And the truth can't be mocked. Now, let me just tell you. I'm going to play this clip. I want you to list to it. It's in its entirety. And he's going to come across. Those are going to say, well, he didn't mean what he said. Later on, he goes off and clarifies it. No, no, no, no, no, no. We're going to unpack it because I've been accused of being the villain here. I've made other posts for people said that I need a fact check myself. Well, he just keeps wanting to bring in his liberal progressive theology. He's seminary trained. I say that loosely, but let's listen to what he says. The worst part for me was the number of Christians who used Scripture to justify hurting children. Even on this floor today, a member tried to justify a hateful amendment in the name of God's law. So let's talk about that.

4:10The first two lines of the Bible, the first two lines in Genesis used two different Hebrew words to describe God. One is the masculine Hebrew noun for divinity. The second is the feminine Hebrew noun for spirit. God is both masculine and feminine and everything in between. God is non-binary. In Genesis 126, God speaks of God's self in the plural, saying, let us make human beings in our image to be like us. That's the infinite multitude of God, the masculine, the feminine, and everything in between. Trans children are God's children, made in God's own image.

5:14There's nothing wrong with them. Nothing at all. They are perfect. They are beautiful. And they are sacred. Now, I just want to unpack that a little bit and I don't want. I'm not going to pick on the kids here. I can make a point about what he said with that. But again, they are made in God's image, but it's not because they're transgender. Again. When you have a man who's running for the United States Senate, and he says he's running for the Senate, and he says God's non-binary. Okay, so we're no longer having a policy debate. And again, he's testifying at a hearing here. Now we're having a theology debate. Theology matters. It does. Even for people running for office, by the way, because that's going to determine their worldviews, going to determine what they believe is going to determine how they vote, how they determine laws, how they do their job, especially when he says that this is something that is hardwired into his system of belief. Now let me just say Christianity. You said, whoa, judge not. No, no, no, no. No, no, no. We are called to judge those who would assume to be teachers. We are to call out those people who come into our midst espousing certain doctrines or teachings that aren't true.

7:19We are supposed to judge that. I can back it up consistently in the scripture. Christianity is not a built-in religion. You can't walk into faith like it's a subway sandwich shop and says, I'm going to take a little bit of Jesus, hold the father, add some gender theory and toast it with modern ideology. That's not Christianity. It's religious fan fiction. Okay. For 2000 years, Christians have confessed something very simple. God the father, God the son, God the Holy Spirit, not God the father, son, and gender studies department. Jesus didn't teach us to pray our non-binary parental figure who art in heaven. No, he said our father over and over over again. In fact, the gospel of John right there in that one gospel, Jesus refers to the father more than a hundred times. Why? Because Christianity is built on the relationship between the father and the son. It's not a metaphor that somebody invented in the Middle Ages. That's the very structure of the Trinity. John 1 says the son is with the father. John 5 says the son does the will of the father. John 17 records Jesus praying to the father.

8:24So if someone comes along in 2026 or 2020 or whenever this clip was made and he says actually God's non-binary, then we have a question. Did Jesus misunderstand God or did modern politics misunderstand Jesus? Because those two things can't be true. Here's the deeper issue. This is not a word game. It's about authority. Who defines God? Tariqa is trying to define God for you. He's letting his politics and his ideology and his narrative come out of his belief system for God. That matters. Because just like he comes, his conclusion was very clear, transgender kid. There's nothing wrong with them. Well, if we define that as a mental dysphoria, then yet there is something wrong. And what you're doing, Taloriko, is not helping heal these children that are made in the image of God. You're using God to justify a condition that leads them to a very harmful lifestyle. And ultimately some statistics that we don't have the time to get into, but are tragic. Now let me ask you, James. Did God reveal himself or do we get to redefine him every time culture changes?

9:32Because if culture gets the final say, then theology becomes nothing more than politics with Bible versus attached to it. And you're defending a certain illness. And you're justifying it with the language and vocabulary of Christianity and the Bible in order to continue pushing something that's very harmful on these people you claim are created in the image of God. So that's exactly what we're watching happen when a guy like Taloriko takes the microphone. God gets redesigned to fit the current social trend. Jesus becomes a mascot for whatever political movement is trending on social media. The Bible becomes a prop and suddenly Christianity stops being a revelation from God and becomes a branding exercise. But here's the problem. Christianity survived 2000 years of Emperor's Revolutions, Persecutions and War. It didn't survive because it kept reinventing God to match the latest cultural mood. It survived because it held on to something that was unchanging and that's truth. God doesn't evolve with the Twitter trends. God doesn't take opinion polls. He's not going to update his identity every election cycle. He's not going to pander to you.

10:37Hebrews says Jesus Christ is the same yesterday to day and forever, not until the next ideological movement comes along Taloriko. So let me say something else. Christians are not obligated to hate people who disagree with them. We're not. But Christians are absolutely obligated to tell the truth about God. Just because we disagree with you and we tell you the truth about God doesn't mean we're involved in hate speech or we're angry with you or we're judging you. If someone says God is non-binary, Christians are allowed to say that's not what the scripture teaches and that's not what Jesus taught. It's not what the church is believed for 2000 years. You can believe it. You're free to believe it. This is America, but calling something Christianity doesn't make it Christianity. You can't rewrite the faith and expect the church to non-politely while you do it. At some point somebody's got to say, hey Taloriko, that's enough. You don't know what you're talking about. You're leading people astray. So if God is whoever we decide he is this week, then the word God means nothing. If scripture means whatever modern ideology wants it to mean, then the Bible has no authority. And if Jesus is constantly being repackaged to serve political movements, then we're not following Christ. We're marketing him.

11:43Because the church doesn't need a new God. It doesn't need a politically correct Trinity. It doesn't need theology redesigned by campaign strategists. What it needs is the same thing. It's always needed and that's truth. Because if God has spoken, then our job is not to reinvent him. Our job is to listen to how he's revealed himself. But listen, Taloriko doesn't want to do that. He says, well, the first two verses of the Bible. Now he's going to get deep on you. But let me get deep on you, James. The first two verses of the Hebrew Bible do not support the idea that God is characterized as non-binary. In fact, they do something very different, theologically. They establish God as the creator. Now how he chooses to manifest himself in that creation exists prior to an outside of the created order, including the male female distinction that appears later in that chapter. Now you look at the verses, Genesis 1-1, in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, and Genesis 1-2, the earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the earth, and the spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

12:53Now you are saying that the word spirit there is feminine. But the Hebrew grammar doesn't imply a non-binary identity. The Hebrew word for God in verse 1, Elohim. He didn't tell you that word, Elohim. He just says, well, the word there, the word for the fullness of God. No, Elohim dramatically is masculine in the Hebrew. It's paired with masculine singular verbs throughout Genesis 1. So the word created, Barra. Do you have $10,000 or more in credit card debt? It matters because the Hebrew grammar clearly treats God as a singular masculine subject. It doesn't mean God is biologically male. Hebrew simply doesn't have a grammatical, neuter category like some languages do like we're trying to create, but the text does not present God as gender neutral or non-binary instead it uses consistent masculine language. So Genesis establishes God as the creator of gender, not a participant in it. In the key moment comes a few verses later, verse 27, he didn't mention this. So God created man in his own image in the image of God he created him male and female he created them and the text shows something very important. Male and female are part of creation. God precedes that distinction. So you can't have God fit into a category that God created.

15:02So classical theology has always said two things. God transcends biological sex because he is spirit and God reveals himself using masculine relational language father lord king. Transcendence of sex is not the same thing as non-binary identity James. Non-binary is a modern category describing people who identify between or out either between or outside male and female. Genesis is not discussing identity categories at all. It's describing creation and ontology in verse two when we talk about the spirit. We're not talking about gender fluidity says the spirit of God hovering over the waters the Hebrew word ruach spirit the literal it's a word for breath. It's grammatically feminine in the Hebrew, but grammatical gender in Hebrew doesn't imply biological sex or identity James. If you're a theologian from seminary, you should know this. For example, you read the scripture wisdom is used in the feminine voice cities are used in the feminine mountains masculine Hebrew grammar simply works that way.

16:10The spirit in Genesis is describing God's creative presence and power, not a gender expression. So the theology of Genesis actually moves towards fatherhood while Genesis itself doesn't use the term father for God in the opening verses the entire biblical narrative later develop that idea do to run me thirty two six is he not your father who created you. Isaiah sixty four for say you Lord our father and then Jesus makes the central revelation in Matthew six nine our father who aren't in heaven. So the biblical trajectory James moves towards personal fatherhood not towards gender neutral or non binary identity so again you're trying to place God in a category that he created within sex is when Genesis one doesn't do that. The first two verses of Genesis James God exists before creation God creates the male female distinction God transcends biological sex and the text consistently uses the masculine language for God and that includes the verbs that he uses in creation.

17:12Because of this classical Jewish and Christian theologies always concluded this that God is not biologically male he reveals himself in masculine relational language especially as father. So your modern idea that Genesis presents God is non binary is therefore not derived from the text itself but from applying modern identity categories to an ancient theological text and placing God in a category that you simply can't do. And the logical conclusions there James are very very dangerous if you keep up with that rhetoric that's why we call you out it's blasphemous and my friend it is heresy I'm going to pray for you. That God will open your eyes and you know what God can open his eyes.
