Number one, the troop deployment. Sources telling CNN the US Army is about to send an additional 1,000 troops to the Middle East. The Regarde from the Army's 82nd Airborne Division would be the ready unit for the region, although a source tells CNN those soldiers have not yet received their official orders to deploy. 1:00CNN, shows fire at a residential building in northern Iraq, a separate video released by a pro-Iranian militia appears to show drones targeting a US installation at Baghdad's airport. It's not clear when this video was recorded. So far, nearly 300 US servicemembers have been injured during combat operations. And the status of talks to end the war seemed to be in flux, depending on who you listen to. Trump says the Vice President and Secretary of State are in negotiations with the Iranian side and says he's encouraged by the President, the Iranian sent, saying it had something to do with the Strait of Hormuz. I'm not going to tell you what that President is, but it was a very significant prize. And they gave it to us, and they said they were going to give it, so that meant one thing to me would deal with the right people. No, it wasn't nuclear, it was oil and gas related. And Iranian source says there has been outreach between the two sides. Iran's public stance, however, is that it still cannot trust US diplomacy.

2:05Number two, DHS funds, Mark Wayne Mullins, sworn in yesterday as DHS Secretary, he's the first member of the Cherokee Nation to hold a cabinet post. He's also taking the reins as funding for this agency remains frozen. American senators are working on a potential deal that would pay TSA workers, which should help ease the chaos at airports, more than 450 TSA agents have quits since the partial government shutdown began last month. The GOP plan would fund all of DHS except ICE removal operations with plans to pass ICE funding separately on a party line vote. The President though has said he's not happy with any deal so far, so even if this proposal gets passed the Senate, important to note it may run into some trouble in the House. They did nothing to address the reforms of ICE, and that's what we want. And so until they do that, it's not a serious offer. Tens of thousands of TSA workers mean time will miss their second full paycheck this weekend

3:07if lawmakers do not make a deal. Other unions say it's insulting that ICE agents are being paid and saying it hotels. While some TSA workers are sleeping in their cars, even selling plasma to get by. Number three, the Palm Beach Flip, President Trump's Mar-a-Lago Resort, is now represented in the Florida State House by a Democrat. CNN projects Emily Gregory will win the special election in that state beating out the Trump endorsed Republican John Maples. The business owner and military spouse was focused on affordability in her campaign. She spoke with CNN about why she thought her first run for office was successful. I think it's a real reaction to the current policies at the national and state level. And I think that as a clear indication from voters, it's the wrong track. And go ahead, legislatures, go ahead, representatives, focus on property insurance, health care, education, focus on the things that Floridaians care about. And Trump won that district by 11 points in the 2024 presidential election.

4:07With this projected win for Emily Gregory, Mar-a-Lago will now be represented by a trio of Democrats across the Florida State House, Senate, and the U.S. House. Number four, the meta-vertecte, the social media giant that owns Facebook and Instagram, now in the hook for $375 million in damages for failing to protect children on its platforms. A New Mexico jury finding a meta-violated state law by not doing enough to protect kids from sexual predators or warn its users about the dangers on its platforms. The state attorney general sued in 2023 after setting up a sting operation. They created fake child accounts on Facebook and Instagram and say those test accounts were regularly shown sexually suggestive content, somewhere even solicited for sex by adults who were later arrested as part of the investigation. A meta-spokesperson says it does plan, the company does plan to appeal in court. The attorney argued the company has 40,000 employees tasked with making Facebook and Instagram safe. In a statement after the verdict, the company said they are, quote, clear about the challenges of identifying and removing bad actors or harmful content.

5:10This case is one of a wave of legal pressure on social media giants. A separate jury in Los Angeles is headed into its ninth day of deliberations to decide whether a meta and YouTube intentionally designed their platforms to be addictive to young users. Well, the 26-year-old gave CNN a tour of the vault that holds his near perfect specimen of a fossilized triceratops. They call it Trey. For almost three decades, it was on display at the Wyoming Dinosaur Center. Now, an auction house, which is owned by Get This for our Williams, is hosting its sale. Chow says it was a lifelong dream to own a dinosaur. The appeal is universal. It has maybe like 2,500 dinosaur fossils in the world that are 60 or 70 percent complete. And I think more than half of them are in museums already. All of all the alternative assets that I grew up seeing from wine, art, cars. I think dinosaurs are the most under. There are critics across the paleontology world, though, who are vocally opposed to any fossils being in private hands. But I guess this is your chance. It's expected to sell for around $5 million, if that's in your decorating budget.
