Farmer discovered the game at eight years old, through a Tampa Bay Lightning community program that helped grow it locally. Born a bilateral amputee with one leg missing above the knee and the other below, Farmer developed a passion for the sport on his own. He joined the U.S. national team at just 14 and earned gold in his Paralympic debut at the 2014 Sochi Games. Since joining the national team in 2012, Farmer has racked up 420 points, the most in team history. His drive comes from a growth mindset, crediting past teammates for starting the winning streak.
