Welcome back into the midday show. It's pros and almorgani in for Joe Gileo and Hugh Douglas on this Friday, Labor Day weekend already. Yeah, it's gonna work quickly. It's sure day. It's the best time of the year though, dude. The fall coming up. Oh, I got football already, already the colleges have early cranked up. Football coming in, high school football coming in, all kinds of stuff happening. What about the 30th of September? You doing anything? 30th of September. You don't know? No. The flyers' language? Oh, that's 30? Well, we're not, yeah.

It's a national thing. Oh, that's why your brain wasn't triggered. I'm like, I don't like national games. I mean, I like the guys and everything, but it's like I like doing the games. You don't like Bouch? I love them. No, I think you just basically admitted you don't like Bouch yet. Well, except for the fact that he's from Rhode Island, he's like, I love the map, it's okay. He said, I've been lucky, he's a really good guy. Of course he is. He dealt with so many of those guys. But it's like, I like when, I like local, like when, you know, I just, I miss it when we're not doing it. I think we do a healthy job, both, especially, I mean, Tiant, she's really been good. Who plays opening night? You got a guess? The Rangers, I'm sure. We'll have a Carolina. You think Carolina? And Carolina here, twice within the first three weeks of the season? I think they're here twice. Can't wait to go in all the games. I think they're here twice. I don't know, I'm just, I'm having fun. I listen, two, one, five, five, nine, two, nine, two, nine, four, nine, four. On the Phillies front, we're gonna rock your phone calls here. We wanna know how you're feeling heading into this Atlanta series, Fearless Orphigidy, because, well, listen, I finally got back on board

and after that August month, and then what they did to start out September, going to Arizona, that was a house of horror situation. They went in, they handled business, and I finally got back on board, and I'm just worried. The second I dip my toes back into the water, you know, what's gonna happen is gonna be a shark that's biting off my big toe. And now I'm hobbling off the beach without my most important toe out. And that's a dangerous, important toe. The only important toe, that's right. You could have taken the pinky toe, you could have taken that middle one. You take my big toe, I'm screwed. Let's go to Dan and Brookhaven. What's up, Dan? Hey, hey, I do approach, yeah. I'm fidgeting about the Phillies because of trade turner. I mean, if you watch the game the other night, with the diamond backs, my buddy and I were watching, saying they're gonna pitch turner low and outside. He struck first time off, what's he do? They throw him low and outside. He misses the pitch by a foot, and I'm afraid because you can't have turner and swarber going back to back cold. And that's what went on that game.

Swarber's cold right now, so it's turner. And turner, any good pitcher, any good team, especially the diamond backs, know how to pitch our hitters to their weaknesses. And turner, he cannot cover the outside of the plate. He tries to pull every pitch for a home run. He has an uppercut swing. It looks like a mini castiano swing with that uppercut. I'm fidgeting because of turner. And if we don't do something about it, I don't know what's gonna happen. Well, let me ask you, what are you going to do about it? I would put either spot or Crawford in that too, so I don't care if you have four left-handed hitters, it's better to what we have now, how? What are you gonna do about it? I mean, let me argue with you, how can it be that bad when you just had a month like this? But what the turner do? Turner went like, well, for a while. But no, take them to J. I look at it. You're trying to win games. It's almost, it's what drives me crazy

with the Eagles conversation. Well, they win games and people look at things and say, but we do this. No, the idea is to win games. You have what they want against the angels. The angels don't have his pitchers that are as good that can locate pitches as well as the waves and the diving and backs and the dodgers. They're gonna know. We've seen this in the last three, four years of playoffs. They're gonna do the same thing that they did in the other playoffs with turner. And if they don't do something that bad to him, that's a disgrace on the Phillies part. They need to make a move. Why is he so sacred with his 270 million dollar contract? Look, turner is very talented. I like, he's a good guy, but he has to count. He's the second fastest runner in the league. He doesn't walk at all. He doesn't punt at all. Who punted the other night? Harper punted past the pitcher. Why can't turner do that? He doesn't want to do it. Turner needs to want to do what will help his team to win. And if he won't do that, we're not gonna go far in the playoffs.

I think that's it. You know what, Dan, that is the greatest for a call of all time. Well, I mean, that is good stuff. That's a, your microphone focusing on a pro, and I will agree, it is a problem area. And I think it will be addressed in the offseason. I don't know the value of addressing that during the season. If you have something that's going well, and he's shown that he can have those a couple of weeks, three weeks, when it all comes together, whatever. And I agree with you. I'm not saying that that's not a spot that you worry about. Yeah, you worry about it. But I don't know if you upend everything, I don't know the inner workings of that locker room, how much they put into a veteran like that, how much chaos that we create, if you have a situation where somebody's truly unhappy, what's going on, I don't know that it's worth it to throw something like that. And that becomes a huge issue. Look what happened to the beginning of the year

when all that stuff with Harper was going on. Look at the start that they had. Do you want to do this now? With the team playing the way they're playing now? Okay, so is moving him down in the lineup, going to ruffle all the feather? If that's what we're saying, right? You're not going to be able to do anything to an extreme outside of maybe moving him from two to six. Okay, but would you do it while you're winning? Why would you, let's say they go cold, then I find, and they've done it with Schrober, they've done things like that when it's like, okay, let's address some things here, let's change some things up. I don't know, I'm not a person that wants to rock the boat when the boat's sailing pretty well. I hear you, I really do. And that's what makes this difficult. And here's another part of it too. And this is why I actually lean your way, believe it or not, even though I'm not a trade turner guy. I'm not even. I just don't think there's another option. I don't care if there's nine lefties in it. Well, that's not going to work.

There really isn't a right handed option to put in the two holes. I'm not putting JT in there. You're not putting bone. The guy is slower than molasses. You're not putting him in there. You're not putting these guys in there. So I don't really think there is an option unless you want to talk about maybe moving Kyle and putting Stad or Louisa, right? But you're not moving Louisa rise when Bryce Harper is having that type of contribution with Louisa rise behind him. So I think you're stuck more than it is I'm on willing. I'm actually very willing to rock the boat if you actually had an alternative that I think had a payoff. But I don't think that there's a payoff worth it. You know what I mean? I don't think so either. And I mean, it's going to be addressed. It has to be addressed eventually long term over the winner whatever. But man, I'll tell you right now, I don't know that I would necessarily go in and say make a major change right now. Be bold, obviously. But like you said, where are you going to go with it? And at this point, if you haven't made the bold statement to try, when are you going to do it? The bold statement should have been done

when he had the yips and he missed every routine and the ground ball to ever be hit his way. Right. And he doesn't have that kind of statutes. Like sometimes you can live with a short stop because look, it's just a vacuum cleaner. We have no issues. That's not the case here at all. No, I'm going to tell you for free. It's not. By the way, I put up a Twitter poll. Yeah. Should Al Morgani take my Wednesday night 10 PM to 2 a shift and do it for free. So I can play my men's league championship game. I'll keep you posted on the results. Lewis and Shul, hey Lewis. Hey, what's up? What's going on? Hey, listen, I write off right off the rip. I got to be completely honest with you. I'm a huge braised fat. But listen, I'm not going to be. But listen, I believe that this series is so important for both teams, but I also think once the, once the feelings come to Atlanta, that's the biggest. That's the bigger series. That's when it's going to matter because I really, honestly speaking, I really think this team's going to split. Prave's and Philly's always go back and forth. It's always a back and forth thing if you notice. If you ever remember any of these games,

disregard what the wins and losses is between us. So far this year, but it's always a back and forth. It doesn't, it always ends in the night. That's what it really is because this teams, these teams are way too good. This is what's really good about them. And I'll be honest, I got the little, I'm the little jittery, the little one there in like, you know, oh my god, like you know, it's Philly. Philly Philly's, you know, don't think, you know, where the braised fans are definitely feeling this way as well. There's a lot of cocky ones. There's a lot of Philly's fans are too as well. But the realistic, the reality is the best possibility outcome for both teams is to split. Do we want to be up of course, this really want to be up of course. They want all of us wants to be up. But no, regardless what happens in this series, it's going to be even bigger in Atlanta because that's going to determine wherever this goes. It's going to be even bigger and better over in Atlanta. It's possible. Louis, can I ask you, are you an Atlanta guy that moved to South Jersey? Are you just one of those people that back in elementary school, you wanted to be different than everybody else and pick on your friends?

How did the Atlanta Braves come into play? And are you an Eagles fan? I need to dive deep into the psyche. So pretty much growing up, I was seeing my older brother, he was a huge braised fan. He was a very first braised fan back when there was like an intense stuff. So I got really into it. I would remember coming home from school and turning on TV and I do my homework, watch Braves games and that'd be my every single day. That's really how it would be. I am an Eagles fan, I am a sixer fan, but when it comes to baseball, I love baseball. That's why it's like number one sport. That's really what it was and how I got into it because I think it was a TBS who had a deal with the Braves and was that all braised at? Yeah, the Braves had TNT. They became the first national thing and there was a whole generation of people that the Braves became what the Yankees were. Did you feel guilty? Lewis, when you're celebrating with your brother-ins that are all Kelly greened out or your LeBron fan

and then you go, eh, you know what? It actually screw you, you fillies, that's how you feel. You love them. And then you want to put them in the face. Nah, listen, I'm a huge die-hard braised fan no matter what, listen, I'm so superstitious that I haven't bought an Eagles jersey in years. I'll buy the Nike shirts and stuff, but it like say, like, per se, like, say, if I want to buy one now, that's fine I guess, but like, say in the playoffs, I don't touch anything Eagles yet. I don't touch anything else. So you're not really an Eagles fan, Lewis, I appreciate the call. You can't be, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. If you're not touching Eagles gear, you're afraid to do that, then you're not an Eagles guy. Nah, you don't have to get proof to go buy stuff in order to just, we have the stuff. You can't prove for the birds and the Bra- If you can't do both, then you're out on Eagles fan, out, I'm putting the hammer down, out. Well, what? The hammer is somebody else's thing. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Well, he stole my backwards hat look. I don't want to get in the middle of anything. No, you can't. You're kind of young enough that you can pull off the backwards hat with the, not the full hat, we call it a snapback. Joe's not that, he shouldn't be wearing a backwards hat. Well, he wants to keep it hip. Especially with the glasses. He wants to keep it hip, if you will. Well, yeah, but it doesn't work. No? You know, you got to say hockey. You might have three years left. So I can only do it to 34. That's why you should play in your men's league game because you don't have many more years left. It is true. There is an age limit on backwards hat. Yeah, there really is. Yeah, like my dad, not to call him out, he wears a backwards hat sometimes. I'm like, come on. Yeah, right. No, I'm going to, I don't want to add it. But when I'm 60, and I'm rolling in the hot, I'm going to be rolling down for my 11 p.m. game. No, you're not. I'm rocking my backwards hat. No. No. My USA hockey backwards hat. No. What do you mean? No. If I don't have lettuce, I'm going to be devastated.

I need this hair, this flow. I want to be savoring you looking like Barry Melrose. No. With the, with the, with the straight up gray locks. That's it. Well, maybe you have those, those CEO locks. Some people get lucky in the house. Yeah, look at Don LaGrecca. You know, he got the, he's got the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, well, he doesn't have long fun. It probably could. If he, if he wanted to. Yeah, maybe I need hair until the day I'm in the ground. If I'm not in the coffin with some shit, I'm in the, and all I'd be devastated. I don't know. You lose it when, yeah, I have no hair left. No, I'm not, when, when, when the body says goodbye. Yeah. What happens to the hair? It, uh, does it, the disintegrate and fall off the head? It's, am I going to be five years underground? Someone pulls up the cast and they're like, I don't want to see broats. What do you care? Is my hair on my head? Is it, do I shed it off? I don't know what happened. Well, these are the questions I need to answer. What? I don't, I'm not prepared for that answer. Well, this is why you got to ask to fill in today. So you can answer these type of questions that I throw. You're right.

Ask the camera. Ask me anything unbelievable. By the way, I sent that Twitter poll to the group chat. They are loving you right now, because they really want me there. But I got news for them. I don't think they're prepared for you to not do the shift. I, I do, I do the shift. I come in. You're not doing the shift now. You come in after the game. Oh, there you go. Coming after the game. Puck drops at nine. Nine, be done by eleven. Yeah, it's it's it's it's it's it's three three eight. I think it's what say team in a period. And thirty have a beer in the shower. Well, I love the bow or the shower beer after a, especially if we win, I'm going to be hammered. That's good. Well, I can't drive into the studio and do a show. Have somebody drive your wife drive it? Well, no, I'm obviously I do Uber, but I'm saying I can't be out. I can't be down a couple. If Rod signs off that if we win the championship, I could roll in here with the cup. Yes, yes, with the cup beers in the cup. And we're celebrating that I'm interested. Bring the whole team. The whole team gets the company of the studio with the cup. Yeah, we could do a little post game show. You think people call them like,

Oh, my God, I can't believe we won. You think I care if I get fired? Yeah, yeah. I actually think I'm producing that night too. We got out of the board. Oh my gosh. Wow. You want a career that pays how about 40 to $75 an hour in total compensation, including health care, retirement, and getting paid while learning, that's what the Union Building Trades offer. St. Louis is booming with projects and contractors need the next generation of skilled workers right now. Skip the dead in jobs. Skip the mountain of student debt. Learn a trade, earn a paycheck. Build something that matters. Visit mounioncareers.com and start building your future today. Oh, all right. Well, I'll keep thinking about this. I know what's not happened. You see the problem is now you're actually getting my hopes up. That's happening. Now you're getting my hopes up. I'm going to get my skate sharpened. No, I'm going to retake the twig. Oh, it's going to be so good. I'm going to do my little pregame warm up with my quick feet, little dynamic warm up. I'm going to do it a little quick. I watch. Little karaoke.

What? What did you say? I'm not quick. You all might be big. It's a tough league out there. I'll tell you what, it's a tough league this mentally. Mike and Medford. What's up, Mike? Bro, it hasn't gone. I missed you. It's going great, Mike. I missed you too. I was up north. That's why I haven't been calling much. Not OK. Hi, well, I appreciate you. We got a big puncher coming up 29. So you going? No, of course. I'm going. I'm not missing the home opener again. Sydney Crosby, the guy who I despise. Yeah, you caused these jaw sniffers. No, I've only sniffed it once. You love them. I know. He's the greatest player. They're the line. They're going to put them to the boards. Yeah, listen, I wouldn't be upset about that. I want to see some tough hockey. I want to see this team grow some balls, play a little physical, get into the court. You lose half the way. Who's going to step up and be that physical presence? Give me that. I'm up here for it. I'm not anti. I agree. I wanted to ask you, what are your thoughts on Charis Niggas

and his new little girlfriend? Well, yeah, OK, Mike. I appreciate the phone call. What happened now? He saw the picture on Twitter of the woman who works for the flyers. A pen state. Yeah, a pen state. She's cool. This is what I think is going on. OK. There was a lot of influencers out the US open. There were a lot of trouble. I did. I did. There were a lot of tick tock dances. So this is my understanding of potentially what could be going on here. Because social media is running with some narratives of this dance. There is impossible for we jump to conclusions that the person who runs the Philadelphia flyer social media team, went to the US open with a Philadelphia flyer who walked the carpet. I was on the car. Right. Could it have been a planned Philadelphia flyer of it? Yeah. I'm just saying, I'm not here to jump to conclusions and tell people what is this and that. What I have to do is be objective and open up the door for this possibility.

The woman who does the Philadelphia flyer social media content, went to a US open event that was clearly, hey, here's Trevor Zeegray. I mean, that was what it was. It was here's Egris. He's on the carpet. He's doing this. Could it be a planned adventure? Yeah. That's very logical. Well, a lot of people say that a lot because that's a big deal to go to the US open for that. I mean, they have quarterbacks. They have everybody for Zeegris to have that kind of stature. Yeah. Pretty cool story. No, listen, that doesn't mean I don't know what's going on. I'm just a man sharing my thoughts. But I do feel that everyone jumped to one crazy conclusion without the possibility of another result being here. That's all. I'm just here to paint the other side. I don't know what it is. I don't know what it is. But it sure is how it made headlines. No, that's not only a story to me if she can help the power play. Yeah. You could draw up a play to give us a, which is crazy that our power play. How was the power play this day? It's like, but Zeegris cut his hair too, right? He hasn't looked at his, he hasn't had that.

Yeah. I didn't know how it was. He's still got some good lettuce. But not like before, man. It was like, as experienced lettuce man, this is how it goes. That lettuce is not a good thing right now. No, what do you mean? Well, not that lettuce. The hair lettuce. Yeah. You do a chop before training camp. Yeah. You do a flow flow through the season. So you don't touch it until the end of the year. Yeah. So he got the chop and then he heads into the year and then as the season goes, the hair flows. Yeah, I don't like the fact that you have to wear the helmet during the warm-ups now. Yeah, that was pretty cool. That's you got the hair go. You do the water bottle. You got the water. Yeah, that's sick. It's a good move. Can you imagine if Marsh? Yeah. Right. Well, who got, what's a Taylor Hall? Who got hit in the face? Was that a skate though? I think it was a skate. Oh, yeah, that's a different scenario. But it's so dangerous. It is crazy. I know they're all professionals, but you hit the crossbar and you nose with a puck and down. Say never, never. Do you have something halloween on the situation?

Oh, yeah. Listen to what? Yeah. No, it's interesting how people on social media just, you know, it's snowballs, right? Yeah. And it's like crazy. It's like at the end of the day until you know something officially, it's like it's one of your business to, you know. What? It's interesting due to the dynamic. Oh, yeah. What the jobs are. But public event. And my thing on it is, it was, you're right. Everything was so open about it. Are they that silly? We're like, ah, who cares? Let's just go do this. I don't know. Anyway, that's enough for me. Let's go to Greg in Atlanta. Hey, Greg. Guys, how you doing? I love listening to both of you guys. You got a great show. Thank you. Thank you. Hey, so I just turned you on, but usually listen all the time. And I just want to talk a little bit. Get your guys opinion on this. Try to college thing. Okay. And the whole thing in college football because I was listening to only a short part

on the Odyssey app. Talked to Joe this morning. And only once eighth graders to be paid if they have to skill that eighth grade. That is marketable. Yeah. Because Joe sent to him like what happened? You know, you're you're preventing like a 17 year old from joining the team. If you let a probe come back and play college football, Elliott saying, oh, it's great if they could play for six or seven years in college. And now as long as they want and continue to work and and make money. And what why should we stop them if they can make more money in college? Or Joseph? Well, what about an eighth grader? But I'll listen to a favor of that. Now, I'm in the South. I grew up in Philly. So you know, the appreciation for college football is way different down here. And it goes, you know, generations, just like Eagles fans have history and lineage with their family. And it's a total mess. And they screwed it up and they deserve what they've gotten.

But like, what are you guys opinion on that? And what does it go from here? Yeah, I appreciate the call, Greg. It's an interesting discussion. Elliott obviously is not. He also wants people to be able to bet on their own stats and put it on their draft King sportsbook app and the whole thing. So he's in La La Land when it comes to all this as an outsider looking in because I'm not a die hard college sports guy. I watch it very casually. Right. I hate where we're at. I just hate everything about it. I despise everything about it. I dislike the fact that you can do pros in your back and you're doing this and everyone gets to play 35 year. I think one quarterback was 73 years old last year. I got to pull with you. Yeah. Now I get it. I do know that there's like one in particular class that got screwed. And if that one particular class had a caveat in an asterisk that can understand one class. But where we're at now, it's a turn off. I got to be honest with you.

I mean, we were talking about the show out. Even for college hockey, which is one tenth if that of what we're talking about with the behemoth of college football and all, the product, it just lost its, its pop, the coolness of what college athletics, right? I get it. They were getting screwed back in the day. I was a part of it. I couldn't have my YouTube channel when I played D3 college hockey. I got in trouble for getting paid off YouTube for doing sports content while I was playing D3 college hockey. So that's not right either. But I hate it. I hate it. Yeah. Well, football, what kind of not involved? I mean, there is a Penn State alumni thing going on here. But for the most part, we don't pay any attention to college football till the end. I mean, because I work with Ashland, she's from Florida. So she's really into college football. It's become like two different countries with college football. Really doesn't matter here, but it matters in the south and they still draw huge crowds. I think they're paying the price of it.

As you said, doing things stupid previously. The NCAA was so dumb and now they can't reign it in. They don't know what to do. I don't know that people in Texas and Oklahoma and Florida and Georgia really are bothered by this. I mean, if you told some people in Auburn that, you know, the Auburn War Eagles or whatever they're called at three different names is going to be the, what's the name of that buckies? The buckies, they're going to change it to the Auburn buckies Eagles. I don't know that they'd have a problem with it. As long as they win as long as they win. As long as they win. And they put 102,000 people in there. It's a, you know, it works down there. It's fine. But they got away from them because they didn't address things when they should have previously the NCAA. You should have been paying guys before. And there's no way in control, right? Every single conference has their own. Actually, I don't even know. Is there an actual NCAA football champion? I don't think that they are sanctioned. I've never heard the term NCAA football champion.

I don't think it exists. I think it's just a national, will they call that thing? Whatever the winning the championship is, is there, I mean, there's an NCAA basketball champion. There's an NCAA football, I mean, hockey champion. Is an NCAA volleyball champion? Is there an NCAA football champion? I don't know if it is marketed that way. I mean, I think that they've been on their own anyway. Yeah. Yeah, it's another thing too is with these conferences. I'll sit down on a Saturday and I'll watch a game. I'm like, okay, it's the big 12. Wait a second. That team's in what? That team is in the big 10. Yeah, I can't even know. That's in the SEC. There's no draw. Now, if you're in it, because imagine if the Eagles, if the NFL had a weird thing and everything got changed, we'd still be Eagles fans and we would just figure it out on the fly and be committed to the Eagles. Right. Exactly. We just accepted. Yeah. So we would follow along no matter what and that's what these Georgia fans do or whatever. But as an outsider looking in it, maybe they don't care about the outsiders looking in

because of all the diamonds. I think the NFL should care. I mean, you have a kid that can make more money staying in college, even in hockey. They paid the kid what? 800 grand to play at Penn State.
