Deane House

About this episode

One of the best restaurants in the city is located in a beautiful two-story red brick heritage home with beautiful views of the Elbow River and the Ninth Avenue bridge. It is a rare example of early architecture in southern Alberta and for almost 120 years it has been a staple in the community. The house was built in 1906 by Captain Richard Burton Deane, who served as North West Mounted Police Superintendent in Calgary and it is one of Alberta’s most haunted and historic buildings. This is the story of The Deane House.
