0:00Hello folks and welcome to your day weather regional travel impact forecast on this Wednesday. The fourth of March we are your local expert source of road weather impact forecasting for commercial vehicle operators and the traveling public in the Rocky Mountains and high planes. I'm day weather meteorologist Mark here. Well, we have a beautiful weather pattern currently across the Rockies and high planes for this Wednesday. Thanks to high pressure. The surface map, though, is valid for early Thursday morning and it's starting to show our next weather system moving in. We actually have a nice cold front that's pushing west the east here over the next 24 to 36 hours and over the course of Thursday night and the Friday. This frontal system is going to push all the way out into the high planes, bringing some of the chilliest temperatures we've seen for a good little bit here across the Rockies and high planes. We also have some good Pacific moisture and energy and as we head into tonight and early Thursday snow will start to spread across the

They're very far Western Rockies, including sections of Western I 80 and also I 15 and highway I 84 in Utah as we work our way through Thursday and especially Thursday night in the Friday. We're going to be looking at snow spreading across the central Rockies and high planes and depending on just where we can get a low pressure system developing Thursday night and the Friday will help to dictate whether southeastern Wyoming, Western Nebraska, Northern Colorado, along the I 25 and I 80 corridors. See some light snow, snow showers, some slick conditions, black ice or light the moderate snow in a few to several inches and some more significant travel impacts as we work our way through the end of the work week here in the near term. Then as we head into tomorrow night

2:07and through Friday, lower elevation rain, switching to snow, all higher elevation snowfall, developing west to east across Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, eventually in the sections of Western Nebraska, Thursday night in the Friday and road impacts going to become likely above about 5,000 feet as we work our way into and through the next 24 and 36 hours. Then we're going to be looking at mild and dry springtime weather, redeveloping pretty darn quickly over the course of your Saturday and Sunday, lasting the early next week, but there will be strong and gusty winds redeveloping for Wyoming's wind prone locations with 60 plus gusts starting to become a threat in areas as we head into and through the weekend and early next week. Regional travel impact forecast for I 80 keeps conditions very favorable through tonight outside of a few rain showers developing in far Western sections towards the Wyoming Utah State Line out towards the Salt Lake area. We're going

3:10to be looking to switch over to rain from or from rain to snow over the course of your Thursday in Western sections of I 80 and Wyoming out towards the Salt Lake area with wet to slushy daytime roads from small accumulations. After noon hour, rain showers and snow showers, maybe a couple of thunderstorms, Cheyenne, the Laramie, Laramie, the Rollins, the Rock Springs, and then as we head into Thursday night on through Friday with the cold front moving through snowfall, increasing and temperatures decreasing, we're going to be looking at at least moderate impacts for much of I 80 from some light snow, snow showers, slick roads, black ice, small accumulations west of Cheyenne, the Laramie, the Rollins on westward through Rock Springs, and then as we get into Friday, we're going to be looking at some impacts expanding eastward east of Cheyenne towards Pine Bluffs in Western Nebraska with possibly some moderate to high impacts for I 80 corridor from about Cheyenne,

4:14west to Laramie and Rollins, thanks to some light to moderate snow, some strong northerly to northeast winds, 15 to 30, and this will all create the possibility of moderate to maybe some high impacts on sections of I 80, the higher sections west of Cheyenne out west towards Rollins. For I 25 across Wyoming and I 90 western South Dakota, Northern Wyoming, South Eastern Montana, very favorable conditions tonight and really on through the day on Thursday, but we will start to see some PM rain showers, maybe in a few thunderstorms developing for Southern and Central sections of I 25 in Wyoming, a few rain and snow showers late Thursday as well, I 90 corridor and Northern Wyoming and South Eastern Montana, then it will be Southern Wyoming sections of I 25 that's going to start to see some moderate impacts developing over the course of late Thursday night, especially early Friday morning on through Friday itself, snow, some slick rose, reduced visibility from blowing snow and

5:17cold enough temperatures that we're going to see impacts during the day on Friday with readings no better than the 30s and we'll be seeing some maybe upper 20s and small accumulations of snow on roadways elsewhere across I 25 and I 90 in Wyoming and these sections of western South Dakota and South Eastern Montana, a little bit of some snow showers further south I 25 through Colorado and Northern and Central New Mexico and I 70 across Colorado, all good tonight and really on through Thursday, just a little bit of wind for Southern I 25 sections and into Northern New Mexico nuisance winds a few developing afternoon rain showers, high elevation snow showers for I 70, especially west of the continental divide, then rain changing to some snow as we work our way into Thursday night and early Friday for Northern sections of I 25 and I 25, especially about four Collins on north into Wyoming going to see some slick conditions becoming possible for your Friday,

6:20some rain changing to snow Central and Southern I 25 in Colorado and for I 70 west of Denver on towards grand junction like the moderate snow lower elevations not picking up much, but mountain passes going to be seen some heavier mounts and there will be some slick roads black ice on mountain passes I 70 west of Denver as we get into late Thursday night early Friday and on through Friday itself thanks for watching today plan on some developing road impact conditions across the Rockies and sections the high plains over the next 24 to 36 hours and we'll talk to you tomorrow.
