From Sydney, this is your March 4th update. New Zealand Rugby has named Dave Renny as the new head coach for the All Blacks. This comes three years after he was let go from coaching Australia's Wallabies. Renny will guide the team all the way to the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia. He steps in after Scott Robertson left the job suddenly in January, following an end of season review. Robertson had a strong run, winning 20 out of 27 tests during his time in charge. Renny brings a solid track record, including back-to-back Super Rugby titles with the chiefs in 2012 and 2013. He also coached New Zealand's junior side to three straight-world championships from 2008 to 2010. Plus, he's the first All Blacks head coach with Pacifika Heritage from the Cook Islands. Renny called it an incredible honor and said he's clear on how he wants the team to play. He's currently with the Japanese club Koboko Kobay Steelers, but will head back to New Zealand soon for the July home series against France, Italy and Ireland.

Meanwhile, on the same day, Australia's ACT Brumbies extended Stephen Larkham's contract as their head coach. Larkham had been rumored for a spot on the All Blacks' staff.
