live from the new America studio and brought to you by Northern Quest, resort in casino. It's the Dave and Molly show. It's already the middle part of the week feeling good, feeling strong? I really like when a Wednesday sneaks up on ya. And that Wednesday is very special because that's football. Yes. I, uh, this is the first time in the history of our career together where we spent the morning before the show talking about the lines for football. I was one would do what do they call what are they odds? What was the bedding lines? I was doing my picks. So I have my whole cast ready to go for the whole fantasy football. For their show. For their show. They all have their new dear costumes. I picked my pickups and I did my survivor pool and I picked the lions to win this weekend. All they have to do is win and you move on to the next round. That's exactly right. Yeah.
So it's all done. You got everything. You got you got a survivor league. You got a pickums league. You got a fantasy team. Yes. Yeah. You are all in. The only thing you're missing is your giant stat. But but you can save that for, uh, actually maybe Friday because they play Sunday night. When I came back to my car yesterday. I was like, you remember how I was pouring down rain when we came in. So you know, you park and then your car drips all the water underneath. Somehow my giant's hat landed on the ground right next to my driver's side door. And it was soaked completely through. It was almost like somebody sabotaged. It was almost like somebody grabbed it and threw it there. It's drying out. Everything's fine. What is going on? Those were headphones. Oh, I just, I just, I now everything is fine. Okay. It is the ninth day of the ninth month and it's go time. Uh-huh midweek Wednesday is here. This is a very exciting day. Talk about another first. Yeah. The first time we ever have a football starting on a Wednesday.
So that's something. Yeah. But today on our show right here in this studio, there will be a live pig. Yeah. What could possibly go wrong with that? I think that's going to be very exciting. It'll be fun. Pancake. The pig is coming in to talk about sensory day and then we're going to talk about the pig. We're going to talk about the pig. We're going to talk about the pig. We're going to talk about the pig. At the fair yesterday, we talked about a lot of the stuff that's going on. Tomorrow will talk more about speak easy and brown distillery. But for today, it's all about the pig. All about the pig. Uh-huh. That's going to happen. What time do you think around nine o'clock? Nine. Okay. By the way, while we have you here, if you want to enter to win tomorrow, we're going to give away four pair of tickets to the fair. Five. Oh, nine. Four. Eight. Three. Three. Seven. All you have to do is do that. You'll get a text back that says you're in and then we'll do a random drawing and four people will win a pair of tickets. Okay. Pretty good. That's pretty good deal for you guys. Yeah.
Right. Four winners. Pretty good. Yeah. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Collie will be coming in and she's going to come in right around eight thirty. And then she will stay. And then they'll be the. Okay. Yeah. Right. And then we're having her in prior to the pick rather than after because we don't want to make, oh, it's a pig's diet here. Let me just move this stuff away. Right. And then. And if anything goes wrong, if the pig leaves us gifts of sorts, then at least we don't have. No, we haven't even thought about it. Like we need a plan in case there is a situation. I think they know. I think that they are. I think Sir Potty trained their house trained. And I think this. This pig is a special pig. This isn't just like a pig. The you grab off the farm and go, come on. We're going on a show, Piglet. No, this is this is pancake. Pancake is trained. Okay. Yeah. We hope we hope we'll see. I don't believe there's maybe, you know, I don't think that there's ever been a pig inside the. Well, I'm sure there's never been one in this room.
No. And I don't know that they've ever had one out on the set before. I don't think so. So now in the old studio, we had goats and we had a mini. A quality or not, Kangeru, do you remember that? Oh, yeah. And it pooped. Yeah. Yeah. But it was like a diaper though. Didn't have a diaper. Yeah, but there is one of them did pellets. Maybe it was one of the goats. I remember cleaning up pellets, but, but. And I don't know what paid poop looks like to be honest. I don't know. Well, the stuff they eat. We may find out today. Yeah. I don't know. But we did have a little quality or, um, yeah. A kangaroo. Because, remember, I used it for my audition for survivor. That's on YouTube somewhere. Look that up. Yeah, it's going to be very, very, very exciting. That'd be cool. We have a pig and we have Kali. And we have the showdown. And you claim there's going to be a lot of football questions. Yeah. Oh, I love this. So you know, it don't call in if you don't know some stuff about football. It's not all. There's some general knowledge. There's, I think four of the questions.
Are football related? Okay. Some is general and then some is more specific. So in honor of the first day of the football season. Yeah. Uh-huh. We got football today, football tomorrow. And then there's some college games on Friday. Ton of college games on Saturday. All the pro games on Sunday. Except for one. And that will be on Monday. That's how you kick off the season. See the time I jump. I'm going to jump. That's how you kick off the season. See the time I giant play. They're Sunday night game. They're on cage. Q 520 Sunday night. Uh-huh. What's the date? Is that the 13th? Yes. Sunday is the 13th. Going to have to record it. I believe I'm going to be at that. Uh-huh. Speak easy. That private speaking. Oh. Our friends from the. Yeah. Then I'll come home. I'll hit the table. I'll be like, my. I'll throw stuff. Yeah. I'll come home. I'll hit tanked up. And I'll be like, my.
Jans don't win. Throw stuff. Make all those noises. Yeah. That texted in the word fire. No, it's it's fair. Right? Yeah. As of typo. It's got to be a type. It's got to be. Yeah. Uh-oh. I'm going to go to the. I'm going to go to the. I'm going to go to the. I'm going to go to the. I'm going to go to the. I'm going to go to the. Oh, Jaislyn, just. Oh, no. Jaislyn. Is that a pig who looks just like ours? Yeah. Anyhow, let's. It's go time, everybody. Oh, yesterday was. Was it was a longer day here? I ended up staying for a while. And then you know, the. The longer I stay here, it can get longer. Because then there's. There's. The regular people. Yeah. Yeah. But our friend Leslie Low stopped in for a bit. Chattered her up special. And. And then I finally got. I don't think I got home until around one o'clock. I remember my original plan was. I was going to go home.
I was going to assess the library situation where the library had. Fall on a part. Exploded. There was there was a there was an incident, you know, the little book library right out in front of the house. So. I get home and I think to myself, I know somewhere in the house, I've got all the parts that I need to fix this thing. You know, just over the like down in the basement or in the garage, there's got to be a piece of wood or something that will work. Well, I start looking around and one thing leads to another and it's like. Then it's like. I'm cleaning things and stuff that hasn't been moved in years. And I'm doing that and it just the day sort of got away. Then after feeling kind of dusty and rhyming was cleaning a lot of stuff, I said, I get I got to get out and get some fresh air. Yesterday afternoon was gorgeous. What a beautiful day yesterday. Yes, so nice. Yeah.
And remember how the day started. It was raining and kind of cold and everything. So I took Maui and we went for what used to be our long walk. Everybody was out there. There's kids riding bikes and there was people getting a run in. Some people were running with their dog and then I think I, me and my dog looked at those people and said, what are they going to happen? We're just going to we're going to mosey on down. So that was great. I think that was good to kind of kind of get outside. Got back in, cleaned myself up a bit and then I remembered that Ted Lasso secretly is on Tuesdays. They always say Wednesday, but it's always a day early on Apple. So I clicked over there to see if it was on. And it was. Oh, and I was it's a great episode. It's this one's all about relationships. Okay. So just when you think something's one thing is happening. Oh, stop it.
It's like, oh, yeah. Can't help yourself. I could nail myself. It's great. That was very good. How long is it? 45, 46 minutes. I'm glad. Yeah. Because remember the furt was at the first season where they had that weird hour and 12 minute one that was like. There was one that was. And that was the one coach and he was off like he took acid or something. Was it something like coach beer? Yeah, there's a lot of coach beard in this. Is there? Well, I know that he ran into an ex in the previous. No, she was doing a show. Some sort of right. Right. I forgot about his whole relationship. But I think you're like, I think you're like the latest episode of Ted Lasso. I just want to keely and what's his name? Oh, but he she made him go on all those dates.
Oh, no, it's going to backfire. Now that is just texted in the word fart. I think it's bad. He's doing a bit of messing with us. That's funny. He put fair F-A-R-E. Fire. Fart. Marla Hooch. What a hitter. I was from before. And then, you know, because today is a football day, yesterday was football eve. So there's a lot of football shows. Oh, sure. So I'm clicking around watching football shows. I did. This was the other day. I forgot to mention I watched a, it was kind of like a documentary facing El Chapo. Have you seen that? Oh, I haven't seen the thing, but I haven't watched it. So, remember El Chapo was the Mexican cartel guy, drug guy, bad guy. Yeah. And anyway, they finally caught him. This is back probably 10 years ago. But how they caught him was crazy. And this is a movie based on the true story of how it all happened. So I got involved in that.
So it's actors. It's a written. Yes. But then at the very end, they have the real guys. They have to blur out their faces because they all had to go like not undercover. What do you call it when they secret? Yeah, when you're a protective. Yeah, but in Mexico. So, yeah, yeah, because they don't mess around over there. Yeah, no kidding. So that was, that was very interesting. But that was pretty much, pretty much the day I didn't, no progress made on the library. Although I did learn that I don't have the stuff to, to make it work. So it will have to be like a hardware store kind of a thing. And then I think the better I plan, the quicker the process will be to rebuild the little book house. Think of all the people who are going by with their book. Oh, yeah, sad. It was only here. The free library was only here for a few days. It was, yeah, it was like a week. It was just too popular.
It actually was very popular. And the, and the other thing I learned books are heavy. Oh, yeah. Boy, I think a lot of books. Well, it makes me see now when I look, because there's a couple in my neighborhood, when I look at the structure now. Yes, I do. Very interesting to me. How they're built. Yeah, well, you know, yesterday I left you for dead. Yes. Well, I had gotten everything accomplished that I could hear sending emails out and doing stuff. And then our friend Rocky, he had this cool letter for me for my airplane collection. And it was, you know, an airmail used to be sent. They would stamp it like it would, it would say 747 air mail to. I remember that they used to have air mail envelopes like special like, yeah. But this is a letter that he had. And I don't know. I'm trying to think of where. He had it.
But I'll show you the pictures. See how this picture says 747 American Airlines. Oh, yeah. From 1970. So anyway, he offered it to me for my collection. And then he said, hey, I'm going to be out at church. Oh, church is the casino for our new viewers. She goes to the casino a lot and she calls the casino, the church. So I said, well, I'll probably be out there by noon. So right at noon, meet at the pizza place, hand off the letter. And then I'm on my way to gambling. And it was fun. So I had two and a half hours. That was my window. I had to leave at 2 30. I had to go get the girls at school, which was perfect because I probably overstayed by 20 minutes. I would have left with a little bit more money. But I did well. All of the machines were behaving properly. In fact, the the quick hit machine. I hit the not the first one, but the second one. And it was really high. It was like pretty high.
Oh, yeah. I had that one on the very next spin. I hit the small one, which is up at like $38 back to back spin. Yeah. Yeah. And then I had a couple of bonuses in there, which were pretty good. So all the machines were behaving. I was sitting next to a guy. There's this mummy machine. And it's really, really fun. If you get it to go, it collects all these diamonds and it sends it up. And then you it the it's really cool. Well, I'm sitting there and the guy gets to pick for the, you know, where there's choices. I was really picked. He picks. He picks. And I looked over. I said, did you just win the grand prize? And he said, yup, $8500 bucks. Whoa. And I said, what? You just won't he goes, yeah, that'll make my day a little better. And I thought, well, that would make my whole life a little bit more. He means, and he was all calm about it. So the lady comes by with the iPad. Oh, I congratulate everyone here before. Oh, yeah. I've won here before. And I thought, this is nothing to him. But I think he was betting maybe $3.
I've never seen, I know it happens all the time, but it's always that many. You know, always in this game, you play. I was playing right next to it. Oh, same bank. And I was, I was so happy. I got a bonus that was like $85. And I'm thinking, well, I'm rich. Look at me. Look at me. And then he gets $8500. So that way it was kind of cool though. Yeah. And I said, why am I sitting here? I need to go now. It's not going to pay two grand prizes right in a row. So move along, little lady. Move along. So for that, does he get all cash or do you get a checker? I didn't see. I didn't, I didn't see, but, but I was talking to Rocky because he was, uh, he had another game he liked. And so I played with him for a little bit. But I, he said, uh, he watched a guy when, I don't know, $5,000, $6,000 or whatever he said he didn't have him taking. He taxes out. And I said, that's a dangerous game. You play. I always have, though, a year that I won all those jackpots, I had to take 22% off of everything because otherwise you're going to owe a bunch of tax at the end of the year.
You got it. You got it. Hey, that's a good problem to have. Wouldn't it be a good problem to have to decide? Sure would be. So that was super fun. And then I got my little bag of luggage, which I had to go to the civilian. And I saw our friends that we always see at the, um, the giveaways. They were there. And then I had it off to pick up the girls at school. And they were excited because they didn't know I had said I had a meeting, which I did. And then it got moved. So I said, well, now I'm free to pick them up. So they were all excited. It was beautiful. When I was out, it was three o'clock. We're outside. It was so nice. That's about when we were walking. Yeah. It was so pretty. And I feel guilty because well, I wasn't home up to then. And then Ken said he was out at trailhead playing nine holes with his son. And then he ran into a friend. So he was sitting at that New Mexican restaurant. And he said looking over the ninth green. He said it is so beautiful here. It was just the perfect day. I didn't get her out. But I did. Um, uh, we went home for a bit. Got the girls all situated.
And I took them. What I did while they were at karate is I went out to the North Side Panda. I used that time to get on my computer. It gets a mark done. Then at the last minute ordered there to go. Then had it back to get him. I'm a genius. I was trying to think of somewhere I could sit with my computer. And then I thought, well, I want to sit there. Then I killed two birds. Then I don't have to go to Panda afterwards at six o'clock, which you know it's going to be crowded. So I picked them back up and dropped them off. But here's what I watched last night. And I loved it. It's called I pity the fool. And it's the it's the Mr. T documentary. Okay. It's only 48 minutes long. Is it Netflix? It's Netflix. I don't know. I don't know. It popped up on my thing. But I really liked it because it talks about how he was cast as, you know, how he grew up. He was a bouncer, right? Yeah. What is he working on? Yeah. He was a bodyguard. And he was on a TV show. Here are what it's called. But basically they had a bouncer contest. And Celeste Stallone saw that. And and he was like that.
We need him to audition for, you know, and I guess originally they wanted him to have a Jamaican accent. And so Mr. T's trying to do all that. And then Celeste Stallone was forget it. Don't don't do the accent. Just come in. And they hired him. And anyway, it talks about his life. When he grew up in the Southside of Chicago. Right. And he has like, I think he said six brothers and four sisters or something like that. There's six boys. And now he's a preacher. And he's just like, but, but you see how he came from nothing. And then he was the biggest thing on the planet. And he was huge. And then his ego got the better of him. What did you do with all his money? Well, he did. I don't think he has a lot of it left. I think he got into tax trouble. And I think he also bought a huge mansion. His mom used to clean houses. So he bought the biggest house. That he could where she used to clean houses like in that neighborhood or something. So she could have a mansion. And so anyway, I thought it was really good.
It's only 48 minutes. And then I started watching a toxic love story. I fell asleep towards the very end. That's another documentary. And I fell asleep towards the very end. So I don't know exactly what happened, but talk about twists and turns. You think you know what's going on. You're all mad at one person. Then you're mad at another. Then you're mad at another. Then you're mad at another. So that was my viewing. I didn't get any. Any pretty bunches in less night. And I went to bed pretty early. So. I went to bed pretty early too. And then the both. Alarms were yelling at me this morning. Yeah. I just I was sleeping all the way through all of it. I woke up around 230. But it was the good kind of wake up where you can go right back to sleep. But then you know you have like another hour and a half to sleep. I like that. Then I used a little bit. And then I was up preparing football trivia. Oh, I like it. So you say four of the 10 questions. Showdown questions will be football related. That is correct. Pro football. Oh, I'm not sure. That's correct. All. All.
All. Okay. And then I'll have a show question of course. And I don't know about a money question. Let's see. Let me see if there'll be a money question. Make it a football question. No. No. No. Yeah. No. Yeah. We'll have we'll have a money question. And it will be a football question. And then I'll have a question. Oh, Okay. How about that? I'm very excited about that. Yeah. That just happened. But seriously, if you want to play today, make sure it's. That you know a little bit about football. Are you're going to be mad? And this may be the last time we're talking about football opening day tonight. Seahawks on K HQ tonight. Um, the Mariner thing that Mariner's lost again. They. I think it's over. They are, they are. They are eliminated. But what a tremendous disappointment. I mean, this is they were, you know,
they were in the American League Championship Series last year. Yeah. They were so close. And then this year was like, okay, this is the year. Finally, it's the year. Molly convinces Ken to put $100 of his hard earned retirement money on the Mariner's and I, what a, that just never. Yeah. Just ever. And everybody kept saying, oh, well, it's, it's early, you know, we'll, we'll, they'll figure it out. They'll get it going because there was, there's a lot of talent there. I don't know. I don't know how this plays out in the offseason, but that, that doesn't somebody need to get fired though. I don't know. I guess. It's hard to, it's hard to figure. It's just one of those. That's why they play the game. Sports is crazy. You never know. So. Well, I'm sorry to hear about. So I'm off of the whole, the Mariner. I don't even think, I think if they, even if they went out, I don't know that they do anything. How am I, um, I think your twins are probably out of it too.
Although they're not, they're not mathematically eliminated. They're in a similar situation like the Mariners where they're in a division that's not very good. And even though they're not very good, they're not out of contention. I think the red socks lost yesterday. Oh, no. But they'll, they'll be in the playoffs. Um, here's something kind of fun too. And I was saying this earlier to Sam and to you two years ago today. Oh, yeah. Uh, we were making our announcement on K HQ and all of the memories popped up. It was so cool. It's when we, we talked to Sam. I believe we were on in the morning. And then later that day. Um, uh, Sean and, Sean and Leslie rerann it. So that's what I was seeing. But it was, um, it was really cool. And, and you can tell it's funny. Sam, he didn't know what, well, he knew you, but he didn't know me at all. And so it's just like such a different thing. That was two years ago.
We also announced that we were going to do our party on the 17th at the Fox. Yup. And then there we announced that we were starting our show the 23rd. And then like idiots, we announced a few weeks back that we'd be walking to Northern West on our anniversary. Ha, ha. We're two weeks away from the walk. Two weeks away from the walk. How are you feeling? I feel a little concerned about my feet. Tomorrow, I'm going to try to get, yeah, I got it. I got to work on this bunion situation. It just hurts. Even with my new shoes, it just hurts. But it'll be fine. I think we do need to have, now hear me out. I'm all in for the walk. However, the weather situation. I don't care if it's cooler or what, but I'm worried about rain or, you know, super high winds. I think we, I don't want to walk in the rain. I don't want to walk, you know, three and a half miles in the rain. Well, it's eight and a half miles. I mean, eight and a half. You really probably don't want to be walking. Well, figured out. But also if you want to say enough for the walk,
if you go to the davinmollymerch.com, it's free. You can opt by a t-shirt if you want to. And then you can, or you can beat like you can just root for us. And you can just show up at the casino, or you can walk with us. We're going to walk at noon. And go to the davinmollymerch.com and then just sign up. So we know you're going to be there. I don't have a head down. We can't charge people to walk. Oh, you want to walk? It's going to cost you. Yeah. We have no power over that. No, we don't. Anyway, it's pretty cool to look back. I hope that yesterday's weather. Yes. I think it's going to be two weeks from today's weather. I think that would be a beautiful day for a walk. I think it's going to be fine. I think that let's just look at the forecast. Shall we? See, like even up through. Okay. So, so maybe there's a thunderstorm on Sunday. Big what, right? What? Big what. But how's the weather on Monday look?
Monday is sunny and 70. One. Yeah. I think it's fantastic. What do you think of that? See, and then 72, 68, 71. There's a little bit of rain here and there. But all the way up till next Friday, it's like six in the 16. Yeah. We're, we're, we're a ways out. But it'll be fine. I think it'll be fine. Yeah. But I just want to throw that out. If it's like, if we're a day out and it says there's an 85% chance of rain and cooler. I think we need to have like a, okay, well, maybe it's the next day or I don't know. I don't want to walk in the rain. I don't know. I don't know. I think I want to be. I don't know. I think I want to be. I think I want to be. I think I want to be. I think I want to be. I'm not eating a half miles. What if. We get shuttled. We got it. We got it. We got it. First of all. We need to talk to the casino. We have a lot of planning that needs to happen and then we need to talk to the brick west people. And then maybe what we need to do is they have those shuttles that they run back and forth. Yeah. How about if instead of walking we take shuttle services? What if we all take the STA?
What if we just drive to Northern Quest and meet there and then walk around the casino a lot and we do our university like we were going to be and you can go play cards with Dave. They get maybe Quinn out there to do some sports betting. No, we're doing what we got to do the walk. We've committed to it. Well, you're the one that's talking us out about. No, I'm just saying the rain situation. We need to have some sort of plan for the rain. If it's just like misty rain or that's fine. But if it's like pouring down rain. No, we're not going to. Yeah. All right. So let's say we have to have a plan. It never pours down rain in the middle of the day. That's it. I don't know. I feel bad. I didn't get the dog out. Actually, Ken took the dog for a walk before he left my house yesterday morning. So she did get out. But today I should get her out. It's supposed to be nice day and day. Yeah, yesterday it was it was just I the neighborhood is always buzzing with people. But I think it was the time that we were out because I think it was there were still kids coming like home from school and that whole so there's a lot
of a lot of activity and a lot of other dogs out there too. Yes. And then there's my trustee loyal dog. Yes. We have a couple of comments here about the Seahawks, I mean about the Mariners. Michelle says yes, somebody absolutely needs to get fired. Dang Mariners. I'm not a cow of the Mariners. Seattle has to go 14 and three in the last 17 games to have it to have Texas lose nine of their last 17 Cleveland lose six of their my goodness. Bobby D has given this some thought. It ain't happening. Oh Cassie has a good idea. Just get a party bus. Oh, why didn't we think of that? We got to walk. No, I don't want to I don't want people to think we're trying to bail on this thing. We're walking. We have committed. We're walking here to northern. Okay, unless it's pouring down right. I don't accept see that you just you say that. Here's what I meant to do when I went out because I've done it a couple of times
in the next time I won't be able to do it today or tomorrow probably. But the next time I go out, I'm going to take the route again and make sure of how it looks. I have a concern. I have a concerns about a couple of places where we could be in peril. This was I heard of this was a couple weeks ago. I think I mentioned it or I was talking to two different people and they, you know, they were very excited about the walk, but they also said, hey, do you are you aware of the like, now how is this going to so anyway, everything will be fine. Jen says it's 70 with a 9% chance of rain on that day. That sounds perfect. There's a 9% chance that we'll be walking that day. No, we'll do it. It'll be good. Anyway, and then one other thing I just want to say this a year ago on my memories was the classic and I may repost it when I caught up with you, Quinn, Dave Cotton and Kelly from upstairs discussing
my move from the lines to the lines from the Viking and then you guys were being awful about it. Was it like a press conference video? I caught you guys trash talking me. Oh, it says the guys talk crap about Molly and the lion. Yeah. We used to do our funny little bits. Now you get the whole show on YouTube. Oh, here's another thing. If there has been something, if you've been watching on YouTube or maybe just listening, if there's been a moment that you thought, oh, that was pretty good. Those guys were very good in that moment. Let us know because we're trying to refresh our memories on things because they're going to put together a little promo for us, a little commercial for us and they need a clip. And I was trying to think what we, you know, just some little moment. And obviously it can't be very long, but it could run, it could run, you know, during a jeopardy or real fortune or doing Sunday night
football or doing Saturday night live, all the programs. Okay. And it's going to be this angle. This is the promo. This is going to be they need to, yeah, they need the video for it. So think about that. Well, they're going to get a lot of play too. Yeah. On the screen behind us. All right. All right. Help us produce things. People. Oh, you bet. We need David Molly on brellas. Oh, that's the next new merch product just for the rain season. Anyway, let's see, we will get to the news of the day, including AI taking over the world. Now, what if you were going to go on a first date? Now you get AI to do some research on them, giving some red flags and some green flags, kind of like our friends at Pinnacle do. Yeah. They will, they can kind of run the background check of people. This is more catered to the dating world, I guess. Right. There's also hear me out ice cream pizza, something or nothing.
I have to hear more about it. Okay. You will. Okay. Coming up. And then I guess this was on the today show yesterday, but the new for the girls, cow cookies coming up in the next season. They have one for dogs. Oh, yeah. And it's like a, it's a dog treat. And I guess on the today show yesterday, Al rooker ate one of them. Dog treat. But it's, but it's meant for dogs. Yeah, it's been for dogs, but he said it was pretty good. Al actually didn't say a spray. I think he said it wasn't bad. Look, Chucky. I had to order special pill pockets for the dog because she's getting too smart. She takes her allergy pills every day. So I shove it in a treat, but unless here's the thing, you have to have the treat with the pill in it. And then another treat waiting so that, you know, if you have more food, they'll gulp that one down without even thinking. Right. If she has time to take it over and go on her mat and think about it, forget it. That. Oh, sure. Find out. Yeah. So I have to like, Oh, look, hurry up. Swallow that one before
this one comes. Anyway, she's on to me. And so I had to like actually buy this. And this is every day, like every day, a pill and a half for eternity. It's because she's got allergies. I don't know if maybe in the winter, we can stop it. I think it's maybe seasonal, but it's why she had that ear thing because she scratched her ear so hard. But she got her hematoma thing, whatever they call it. Anyway, yeah. So I had to buy those little beacon of treats. It's funny how dogs learn. Oh, yeah. They're so smart. My brother's dog gets raw meat and cottage cheese as her meal. And she won't eat that until she finds out what she's getting off of his plate. She will forego. She literally will. She snifed. My dog would look at that and be like, are you kidding me? This is the greatest day of my life. Well, she waited and waited. And he put it down and she was like, because we were having chicken and she's like, well, and I'll wait till you're finished. And I'm not getting. All right. Now I'll go and look at my own food.
Maui has the, I have the two different dog bones, but I've run out of the good ones. So now it's just those chalky ones that you get in a box. It's like a hot, yeah. So those are always in the house. But then the other ones are like the, there's like 20 in a pack. It's Costco. And she loves those. Well, and I usually try to give her one of those. Well, she will just sort of sniff and then just turn her head away. Like she rejects it. And it's like, yes. So then I have to leave it just, you know, at some point I know she'll want it. But I think that's her way of telling me she's very disappointed in me. That is not. I don't, I don't, I can't. I just hang on. It'll be a couple more days and then we'll get the good bones back in the house. Yeah. His dog is an Aussie doodle and she's so smart. She got the long eyelashes and stuff. And she, she's very codependent with my brother. We joke because he was gone for an hour and a half the other day. And she had to stay with me and my mom at the house. She was just looking around. She was devastated.
I said, this is not healthy. This is not healthy. But she's, she's, she's very smart. And she, she will wait for, she'll wait for her preferred food. Yes, that's what they do. So we'll get to the news of the day. And then as Molly said, she's got four football questions inside the showdown. If you want to play shortly after 8 o'clock, Kali will be in with us today. And we'll have a live pig as we get ready for the Spokane Interstate Fair. There's 75th anniversary of the Spokane Interstate Fair. And it's, it'll be for sensory day. And it's pancake the pig. A real pig will be coming into the studio. That's going to be fantastic. For you talk about viewing for, for that, that's going to call all your friends. Tell all you got to, you got to watch this. What, who knows what can happen. So we'll get to that. And more as we continue, this is the David Molly show.
No matter what you can imagine, no matter what you can possibly dream, no matter what your heart desires, jewelry design center can make it for you. We have fixed everything from eyeglasses to Super Bowl MVP trophies to all types of jewelry. When people are able to come in and watch things be worked on, watch their pieces and be able to talk to the actual people that are going to be doing it and give us such a confidence and an appreciation for what, what that is. It can do anything. Jewelry Design Center, your jeweler for life. We now return to the David Molly show. Hey, welcome back everybody. Let's get into the news of the day, shall we? Sure. And I know I talked about some of the news items, but then I got a couple others that I forgot to mention. Okay. Including a new commercial that you will see. I believe this will air tonight during the football game. It's big, you know, to kick off of the NFL season all the kind of stuff. Well, it's the spice girls. Yeah. And they're reuniting and it's for Duncan Donuts.
Oh, wow. Yeah, listen to this. I think it's very clever. Okay. Hang on. Here we go. That's pretty good. The secret to our group was that everyone had their own flavor. Ginger had red hair and baby was the youngest. And a lot of people don't know, but we originally had a six-member pumpkin spice. I like pumpkin. She had so many amazing tracks. There was my favorite. Was bumping pumpkins. I like pumpkins. Do you like pumpkins? I sure do. Voice of an angel. Total banger. A little bit sweet. A little bit nice. You want to taste my pumpkin every full. And this is what I really want. Should we get the band back together? No. Now who plays pumpkin spice? I do not know that. I bet it's probably, yeah, you could probably find it. It's probably a commute. It sounds like it's a comedian like somebody who doesn't look like the rest of the spice girls. Okay. I'm gonna just see. That's now that's fun. That's that's good.
That's that's like super bowl quality creativity. Yes. Let's see. News, spice girl commercial. It's a television commercial. Why isn't it coming up right away? It's Rachel Dratch. I had a feeling it was somebody. That's even better. Yes, that's pretty good. She was the she was Debbie Downer. Yes, she was from Saturday and live bits. That's funny. Now that's funny. And here's the other clip I want to play. This is a little kid. How old is it? A four year old? Three year old. Four year old. Okay. That can name all of the starting quarterbacks in the NFL. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Okay. It's quite it. We have to get a really kind of patent. It's a little kid. Yeah. Alright. Here we go. Okay. There's a corner back. Humps. Down look. Kobe. To Kobe.
Pinnet. Go. J-Ray. Go. Well. Torted love. Does that. Mendoza. Go. Is it? Go. Burrow. Mance. Mance Stanford. Who does Cam Ward lay for? Texas. Texas. Who's their quarterback? Surround. Okay. Oh, the kids. That's the reason I'm right. Well, I told you my neighbor across the street. She told me a whole thing about who she roots for. Why college and professional and what they're she was saying because of their in the NFC. This or that she knew everything about why they rooted for so and so. She watches football with her dad and and knows all of it. It's crazy. You just I guess if that's what you do if you're sitting and watching it's kind of like my kitchen all about Brady Bunch. They should. They should. Alright. Now, good thing or bad thing.
AI checks for potential dates. I could be good. It was a new service that uses AI and a database of public records to help. Dators dig up dirt on potential mates. It's kind of like what our friends at Pinnacle do. You know, if you want to you know research somebody and they would they they mostly do it for background checks for jobs. Yes. But you can do it for anything. Yeah. It's called stud or dud. It uses AI to help. Data's dig up dirt on potential dates. It uses data from peoplefinders.com. To one of those sites that collects public records on people has marriages. So you know, right away you get a whole line of. It's like all the. Oh my god. How many names does this woman had? Family criminal records. Bankruptcies tax leans and social media accounts. Okay.
All the data's need is the person's name or phone number to run the search. So if it's a potential date, you would have that. That's a day. You have their name and you'd have their number obviously. Uh-huh. So some people think it's a bit excessive for someone just to meeting up for a date. The tool also highlight red or green flags about the person. But the CEO behind the service encourages users not to pass judgment. Even if the site does. Site will judge. You don't have to judge. Well, why would use it then? I'm strictly using it to judge. That's the point. But he always had a bankruptcy. Oh, well. Always been married eight times. Oh, a little bit of time in prison, but I can overlook that. You're there to judge. Aren't there's another point? Otherwise why do you know? Yeah. It's like. I don't know. I don't know. Uh, then they have several different pricing tiers. Oh, here we go. Ranging from $5 a month to $20 a month.
But I think you only, I mean, if you're. It seems like you only. Yeah, I guess so. Well, different people seem to be limited. You know, just keep that account open to just be checking on people all the time. You check and then you find somebody and then you. Yeah. Huh? It's a sign of the times after watching this. I'm going to do this documentary that I watched last night. I don't know if anybody has ever watched a toxic love story. It's been in the top 10 of Netflix for weeks. It's got a pretty blonde girl in the front. And it is it. There's people. I feel bad. There's one girl who basically they blamed everything on it. She spent four months in prison. Oh my gosh. Yeah, four months waiting for this to. They thought she was stalking her ex and his new girlfriend. And she's on there and you think she's just crazy based on what you're seeing. And then it unfolds and it's not even her doing it.
So she gets out. It's it's it's it's. It's I'm not going to watch it. But tell me what happened. Well, I don't know at the end. So so far. I mean, it's been up there for weeks. So you get. This guy and his best friend is a female and she's talking about how great he is. He was just friends and then he meets the perfect girl. Well, they move into the condo that he had purchased with the girl before that. Right. So they break up. Now he's in a condo. So he moves this new girl into the condo. They get pregnant right away. They're going to have twins. And they she starts getting all these threatening emails. Like I'm going to kill you. I'm watching you. I'm going to do this. She's hiring people. Somebody's hiring people on Craigslist to do. Like a. It's terrible. Like a rape scenario and saying I went you to break into my house. And all this right. So they pin it on his ex-girlfriend. And they're like, oh, should we restraining order all this. She's completely confused. They send her to jail for four months. Is this in the United States? Yes. And her dad is like this. This girl has never stepped out of line ever. Ever. And now in and his business is destroyed because everybody thinks that she's doing all this stuff.
Well, then you find out that the new girlfriend isn't really pregnant. And she's been lying about that. And that the boyfriend she had before that she told him she had cancer. And then you go back and they show a whole intervention where all of the friends. All the friends are like, you don't have cancer. Show us your port. You're lying. You're lying. Well, they out her. So that had happened before she's with this guy. So then that comes to light. The get the girl out of prison. So now she's not prison anymore. Well, then they start looking at the boyfriend. Because they're like, wait a second. It looks like he was directing her. Now I fell asleep at the last minute. So I don't know if that's what it was. But after all of this, I think it was him orchestrating all of it, writing the crazy emails and doing all this stuff. But this poor girl. It's four months in jail. For something she didn't do. What do we do to say what state? Like where? California. It was an online. Because he was obsessed with Disneyland.
That was part of it. They had a condo like, you know, a block and a half from Disneyland. So he can watch the fireworks every night. Something was wrong with him, I think. Anyway, yeah, it was the one and a feather people have watched it. It says documentary crazy. It's so twisted. Regina says, yeah, it was the boyfriend. It's the way they unfold it though. They do such a good job of making the one lady seem crazy. It's part of our world. Yes, it is. Maybe they should have used the stutter. Done. Maybe they should have. That's what I'm saying. After you watch something like that. Yes, spoiler alert. Oh, it's the new girl. I don't know. It's been out long enough that we can talk about it. Because it's been sitting on there forever. But I don't, I think it was. Yeah, I think it was. I think it was. I think it was. I think it was. I think it was. Yeah, I guess so. They're crazy. What did you do? Well, and if the girl had to go to jail for four months, that seems like.
Well, excessive and even more excessive when they got it wrong. Like what is her recourse? Well, and that's the thing because they said the reasons she got so much trouble, they had restraining orders against her. She's sending emails from unknown places, but then she gets a hold of somebody on Craigslist. Who wants to do this fantasy scenario? And that guy apparently goes to their condo and and attacks the new girlfriend and says, I'm here to do this to you. And that to you. She fights them off. Well, I think that was all the lie. So that's when she really got in trouble. Because then it was like, you know, they said you you hired you, you asked this Craigslist person to do this. And so I don't even know how to do this. And so I don't even know that that part is crazy that they got her put away. What's the moral of the story? Don't don't be crazy. Yes. If you have a good person in your life, you better keep up.
Because the crazy world out there. Yeah. You don't want to dip your toes back into that dating pool. There's a new ice cream shop that has a very convincing ice cream pizza. Okay. When you put ice cream and pizza together, it seems like those are the two perfect things. Just in the shape of pizza. However, not, you know, not together. No. There's an ice cream shop in Connecticut. It's called Kelly's cone connection. And they have had some very creative offerings to, you know, attract buzz and everything. This is actually, I'm going to talk to my son because it's in New Haven, Connecticut. Oh. Which is what, you know, that's where he is. Yeah. Right now, they have an ice cream dish formed to look like a slice of pizza. They're calling it a pizza. It's A and then pizza, but it's pronounced a pizza. This slice is on a vanilla cone with strawberry basil ice cream topped with strawberry sundae sauce.
Okay. Grated white chocolate parm. Oh. And white chocolate basil leaves. Oh, interesting. There's even a little bit of cocoa on the crust. Yeah. So your fingers will feel some of that classic New Haven char, they say. Oh. In the past, they've done ice cream tacos, ice cream cheeseburgers, ice cream clam chowder. No, thanks. And ice cream lobster rolls. I don't think about anything seafood in that. No. So it is all sweet and it is all ice cream. It's just in the shape of. I can go with that. It's like the tacos. I love the ice cream tacos. Have you had those? So it's like a waffle cone. It's a waffle cone, but it's in the shape of a taco. And then they fill it up with the ice cream and the stuff. And then so you eat it like a taco. This is what it looks like. Can you see it? Wow. See, it looks like a little, you know, that totally looks like a pizza pizza. Yeah, I don't know if you can see that, but there's a guy eating it right there.
Totally looks like a piece of pizza. You guys. It looks fine. Mm-hmm. And it's supposed to be right downtown New Haven. Well, tell your son to go down to the slice. Yeah, I see what he would think about that. He like ice cream. Does he like pizza? Oh, he likes it. He loves pizza. And he likes ice cream. He likes ice cream. You have to like the flavor of basil. Otherwise, you're not going to like that. A lot of basil involved there. Yeah, just. Strawberry. No, but it's strawberry basil ice cream too. Oh. Now, speaking of food, the Girl Scout latest cookie is a dog treat. What? The Girl Scout have a special surprise for dogs in the household. Mm-hmm. On the today show yesterday, maybe some of you saw that, the Girl Scouts announced they will introduce patch pals. When the next cookie season kicks off in January. Okay. They are soft baked blueberry muffin flavored cookies for dogs. Mm-hmm.
The patch pals were developed with a company called Bark. Uh-huh. And they're intended to celebrate the bond between people and their pups. I may be wrong, but I believe blueberries are very bad for dogs. It may be grapes I'm thinking of. Ah, grapes I know are not good for dogs. Right. Yeah. Although I think my dog has probably had some grapes at some point. Dogs can safely eat fresh or frozen blueberries in moderation. Never mind. Okay. They're good. It's the grapes though. Yeah, grapes are not good for dogs. I know that. Uh, there is a dog on the front of the box. It clearly says dog cookies. Okay. So don't make the mistake when the new Girl Scout cookie season and they're right outside of the cookie season. Oh, by some, oh, patch pals. That looks great. But Al Roker yesterday on the today show, uh, did taste one. Yeah.
And he said they're not bad. Hmm. Okay. Uh, they'll only be. Oh, I guess they they won't be at the grocery store because they'll only be available online. For direct shipping. And that will start in January. That makes sense. So you won't make a mistake. Yeah, you can't. Well, that's good. Uh, there also will be another addition, uh, to the Girl Scout cookie world. Something called sparkables. Hmm. Listen to this. oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips and sprinkles. They were specifically created for people with food allergies to avoid the nine major food allergens. And you can sign up for all of the Girl Scout notifications on their website. Uh, you go to their website and then you text the word cookies. Uh, um, two, uh, number. It's five, nine, six, one, eight. And then you'll get all the latest Girl Scout cookie news. Because we need more Girl Scout cookie news. Why, but why does this new oatmeal situation have to be for the allergy people?
That sounds to let me, oh, it's my favorite. I love that. I think you let me know. I think that just happens to be. There's no eggs or milk or butter or cinnamon or. Right. I guess so. Yeah, if there are nine allergens, so we have eggs will probably be one for sure. Flower. Uh-huh. This is the first ever allergy friendly cookie. Well, what's in it? Yeah, it says this is the sparkables. Hmm. Yeah, it's the today show. There's the cute doggy on the cover. Does it have alroker eating them one? Uh, it's not showing that yet, but. Uh, this sparkables thing though. I want to know the ingredients. How much would it take you to how much would you have to have to eat one of those. Chucky dog bones. Dog bones are one of these. Well dog bones first and then that.
Alroker did it for free. Well, you give me a grand all you want. How much do I have to pay you? I don't know. A couple hundred bucks. Twenty dollars. The only thing is they're so. Those are just. Chucky and the dogs are like. Yeah, I think they use them to clean their teeth. I don't do the regular milk phones anymore with her because she's got. Like green. You know, she's got a melody. So I do the bacon strips. And then the Chooie steak ones. But now I've got the pill pockets. And they're actually called that. Like that's they're made for. Put a pill inside that's pretty good. That's clever. Good job dogs. Well, the first. So the steak cuts. They're usually really chewy. And we got a big bag of them and they were perfect. I can make a little hole. A little hole and put it right in there.
But then the next few batches are too. Chucky kind of so they'd flake. And then that would give her an opportunity to really dissect what I was given her. And once that happens for get it. Forget it. So I don't know why the consistency. So then I had to go with the real. Actual pill pocket. It'll make things easier. Should be there today. Order day yesterday. I had a woke up to a. Scare this morning. I. You know both alarms woke me up like I was like oh geez. So right away I'm like I messed up. I look at my phone and then there was activity. In front of the house like at one 30 in the morning. Oh no. And I looked at the thing and it was somebody dropping off a. Amazon thing. And was 30 in the morning. One 30 in the morning. Yeah. I don't like that. When it gives you the option. And well I think it was my daughter. Yeah. It wasn't me. But yeah it's. When it gives you the option and says it we can have it here between.
You know four and six a.m. I know thank you. I don't want that. Nobody needs something. I'm surprised. Surprise that they will even. I mean it seems to me. Like it would be a little dangerous. Like if you're just a regular Amazon person and you know they're working all the time anyway. But like if you're coming up to a house. And you're you know it's all dark and it's the middle of the night and you're. Walking up to the front door. Yeah. I think a lot of things can go wrong. Yeah and people could easily follow you and then. It'd be easy to steal stuff. Seems like it. I don't like that middle of the late night delivery stuff. Not at all. Not at all. And then Kali will be joining us later in the show. So the thing that we talked about with her on K HQ this morning. This was a social media thing yesterday. Things that used to be free that now cost money. Yeah. And there was a whole list of them. Including but not limited to phone accessories.
That's the big one. Used to get an iPhone in the in the. You know the box. It would have the charger. And it would have the headphones. And now you get nothing. You get a cord and you'll like it. Yeah. That's it. You have to buy the brick separately. It's ridiculous. Yeah. How do they get away with that? That's the number one thing that people are upset about. And I don't know what it is for like droid people. I don't know if that's. If they're in the same boat where they. By the phone and they got to buy all the accessories to. Might just be iPhones that do that. Concert tickets. We're all dealing with that whole thing where it's like you. You know, an online ticket. And then there's a $30 service fee per ticket. Yeah. On some of those. So I was saying it on the thing. I went on regal on the regal site. This is not a secondary market. This is the regal site to buy two tickets for. Well Monday, I guess we went to see the movie.
$4 handling fee. For what? So I had to do it early because it was filling up. But so if I go to the place, then there's not a handling fee. But that is new. I've never seen that before. I've. I buy tickets online all the time for the movies. And I've never seen a handling fee. How do they get away with that? What is it? There's nobody. I'm the only person involved. And then where does that money go? It's just another way to add to the ticket price without saying that the tickets are. Yeah. I don't know. And it was already. Because he's not a kid anymore. So he's a regular person. And so am I. But I thought it would be. And I'm not sure if he, although he kept saying. Just do the senior thing. How old you have to be for senior? I said, I think at 65. Because you can do it. Stop it. I said, fine. Then you can be 12. I'll be 65 and you'd be 12. How is that? We'll just. We'll just lie to save $1.5. Uh it's a conscious big one.
And then the checked airline bags. The last place was Southwest, remember? You get the, yeah, just everything. You just, and now every, that's how they get you. That was at 30 or 40 bucks. I think it's 30 for the first one and then 40 for your second bag if you do that. If you, with Southwest, if you have a few points, I believe you get a free bag. And I, I have a Southwest card. I was under the impression that if you, you have a Southwest card that you could do it, but I think there's something to it. Like you have to use your points or you have to, I don't know how it works. You're supposed to though, when you have a Southwest credit card, get a little bit of a proof. I like the whole business model for Southwest, how they started all that kind of stuff to me. And obviously they're smarter than I am, but it seems to me why wouldn't they just raise the prices on things and then keep your marketing, you know, gem of, hey, we don't charge for luggage,
even though they raised the prices that would cover that. So they have to know something why that wasn't the better idea. I don't know. And the seating situation. Yeah. That had a lot to do with people taking the advantage of the early boarding. Yeah. Because then this way, I don't know if they charge extra for certain seats on Southwest like Delta, they are ridiculous. If you buy the bottom of the barrel ticket, which if I'm just going to LA or Seattle, I'm buying the barrel, you know, well, you're in seating section E or F. I think it's F, or finally you get to board. You get to know your seat when you get to the airport, right? So now they have an upcharge if you want to know what seat you're in. Then they have an upcharge if you want to pick your seat yourself. So it just to get to know what your seat is, you have to pay extra. You would they pick it, but then, because otherwise it's such a surprise, we don't know we're going to put you. And then you get to pay extra for certain seats,
and then you get to pay extra extra for early boarding. And it just tax on and on. But like all the things you used to be able to just pick your seat. Obviously you're not going to be in first class or business, but how did that become an extra charge? It's amazing. That's how they get you. That is the next thing on the list is the seat selections on airplanes and people are people are outraged. Yes, they are. Something's got to change. Yes. And you used to be able to get like real food on a plane too. Now, even the long flights, it's, you know, it's a bag of peanuts and pretzels and then a drink. It used to be they have a little snack pack or something. And I mean, those days were not that long ago. You can buy that. Yeah. That is all that's all September 11th stuff too. And they said, oh, we can't have real food anymore. We can't do this. We can't do that because of the utensils. And then they were able to scale back and they were really able to. Yes. And then YouTube without excessive ads.
So those of you watching us on YouTube, how does it work with the ads? Or I mean, we're on. Do they just randomly throw a commercial right in the middle of us talking and then it picks up where we're done when the spot's done? Thanks, though. I think that that is exactly how it works. Somebody else have to tell us so. And then parking. Parking used to be if you found somewhere out in nearby street, you know, you just park there. Everything's fine. Well, no, they got slots. And then they got the little code and then you got to download the thing and then you got to pay. And then how long will you be there? And what's your, your license plate number? I, because we've been having meetings downtown weekly. And sometimes twice a week, I use the little app. I spend a lot of money on parking lately. That's the beauty of the casino. If we could just talk about the casino,
they're never going to charge you for parking. You can park there for, while you go, you can park there, stay overnight and leave your car there, while you go to the airport on a trip. And then they'll come back and get you afterwards. So wait, I see so many people, they'll say, oh, we're leaving for our cruise tomorrow. So we're staying over here. We're going to take the shuttle, Libra Carr here. A perk. Do you have to stay there to get the shuttle? I think you do. I think you need to have like a hotel. That would make sense. Yeah. Okay, so Carlos says, if you watch YouTube through duck duck go search engine, there are no ads when we're watching you two Yehoo's win, win. I don't know the other viewing in YouTube since I only use it to watch you guys. Regina says, That's nice. Thank you. Random two ads while talking, but can skip them. Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't. Melissa subscribes to premium, so no ads. Bobby says, I have an extension that kills the ads. Oh my gosh, we're getting Linda.
Oh my gosh, Linda says, the ads run and then have you back to YouTube to catch up what you missed during that. Uncle Jimmy says, yes, it a YouTube interreptor show. Yes, the commercials, that's from Kathy. And then we make some money on that though, right? Yeah, it says every 20 minutes or so from Scott. Yeah, it's pop up. Oh my gosh, April says, yes, watching you on YouTube is hard because we'll be talking and suddenly a commercial will start and then we miss what you say until the commercials over so annoying. I know, but do it for us. Yes, right. How about here is out. Just put it on a computer somewhere, put it over there and then you can listen on the nonstop local app. Yeah, but we just let it run. Yeah, let it run though. Yeah. Let it run. Sometimes I'll do that when I'll go home, I'll click on YouTube and find us just to make sure that all looks good. I can see how it looks on here, but it's, you know, it's a computer screen to see it on the big TV.
It's like, oh, okay, then I can adjust the cameras the next day. We're learning and growing. And then also if you've missed anything, go download episodes. Yes. We're coming up on our two year anniversary. This is a very important time. There's only a little bit of time left to get on the plaque. There's only a little time left to accomplish what we want to accomplish in a two year period. So we need your help. So we really need a push. I would love to have it be a half million downloads of the show by the end of the calendar year. Oh, and right now I think we're, it's like 400 and maybe 430,000. So we need like 70,000 more in the next like three months. We can do that. Just do it. We had a tremendous week last week. So yeah, pulling back the curtain.
It was, we had our three best consecutive days in a row. Really? For downloads. For downloads. Three in a row. What were they downloading? What was it? It was those shows. Yeah, it was very good. Yeah, it was so yeah, if we, I mean, if we have that, we're going to, we got a shot at it. But then that would be kind of cool to say we start a 2027 and then this, like this show like us, this, that's me, you two Yehoo's by all accounts, two Yehoo's, a half million downloads in a couple of years. Pretty good. Yeah. Pretty good for us little guys. They thought it wouldn't last. Look at us now. It is kind of something. It is very something. Yeah, so anyway, that's, that's very nice. Yeah, so as Molly clearly stated, you know, download a lot of the podcasts. Even if you're seeing us live, relive it. And if there's ever been a time where you are going to jump
on YouTube nine o'clock today would be the time where you're going to have a live pick in the studio. Yes. And I also realized we didn't really clear it with anybody here. I did mention it to news and they want to interview the pig. But they know the pigs coming. OK, well, then that's our out. Yeah, well, we told news. We did it for the news people. I think it'll be all right. I just don't know how big the pig is. So we know we want it on camera. We'll have lots of pictures with the pig. Well, I think I'll give the pig my seat, maybe. Or if the pig, if it's not too big, I'm going to hold the pig for a while. Yeah, hold them. I love animals, all of them. And I want to hold the pig. I'm actually very excited to go out to the fair and see all the animals this year. I really enjoy that. They're just, they're fun. Fair starts on Friday. Yes. And then one other thing that used to be free now we're paying for
is pizza delivery. Now we're not talking about the pizza tip. Remember when the pizza guy would come or pizza girl and you'd get the pizza and then you'd pay. And then, oh, here's your tip. Well, now when you order like online, there is a delivery fee. And then that's put on to the overall. And then from there, you're supposed to tip. So they're adding, so you're basically tipping on the delivery fee as well. Who gets the delivery fee? I, that's my very. Well, if you look, if you go to Uber Eats, and you start ordering up, and then you see, oh, it's this. And then you know, you want to, you want to press the tip part that gives you the best who does. Because if you do want to, it says thanks. And then next one's, you're great. And next one's, you're awesome. And next one's, you're extraordinary or something. So you want to do well on that. Then you look back and you see, there's this extra whole charge for, it's the delivery fee. Sometimes they'll say zero delivery fee for certain hours on Uber Eats.
But they're getting you. They're just nickel and diamond. It's just, yeah, beginning of Uber Eats, what if we ordered breakfast? Oh, yeah. I should be ordering. Yeah. We're going to order some Uber Eats. Really? Oh, I'm hungry. I didn't bring any food today. I thought I had a bar in my bag. I usually always have one. But I remember now, well, I actually have two in my golf bag. I think that's what I did instead of putting one in my work bag and one in the golf bag. I put them both in the golf bag. So I have bars in the car. But that's a long walk to the parking garage. I've got to go downstairs, then back up to stairs. And it's just one of those little cost-go bars. But there's Rosie's restaurant. Rosie's? Yeah. What's Rosie's serving up today? Well, it's... Don't order bacon. We don't want to smell a bacon in here. No, no, no, no, no. No, we're not going to do that. That's not that that would be mean. Yeah. Oh, boy, most of it is...
Well, there's like... Hmm. Breakfast sandwiches and stuff like that. Yeah. Doesn't that sound good? Heck, yeah. But not the bit. There's burritos and burrito bowls. Yeah, but a lot of it has to do with... Ooh, I know what I'm getting. Yeah, well, we'll order some food. During the break, we're ordering their boom. I said it, it's happening. And no bacon. No bacon, huh-uh. I remember took my older starter to Disneyland. We did the magic morning, they call it, where you get to go into the park early. Yeah. And they have a breakfast thing for you. And then you get to... I think it's like two hours before the park actually opens. Well, they had piglet there. And they have all the little characters. I had Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, and you know, all the little E-or, everything. So we're eating the breakfast. And then I had some bacon on my breakfast plate. And then little piglet was going like this. That was pretty funny. That was funny.
Yeah. That's pretty good. And I played in the part. All right. Christy wants to know what the prize that the casino was this past weekend. It was the suitcase. Yep. And it expands, you know? Yep. It expands, and it's got rollers, and it's like a hard shell. I think it's the only hard shell luggage piece of the month. Oh, okay. There's four prizes. They're one for each week. Hmm. Pretty good deal for us. I was telling Leslie Loathe about the free prize. Because I mentioned, I said, she said, what do you do? And I said, I'm going to casino and give my free prize. What do you mean free prize? And I explained, Camus Cups, she said, so they just give you free prizes. I said, not always. You've got to, sometimes, sometimes not, depends. And she said, well, I want a free prize. I said, we have to become a Camus member. I said, but I, okay, how do I do that? Let me show you. Oh. Oh. I didn't. Yeah. It's pretty good, though. And I can honestly say, I think the quality of the prizes
is always pretty good. It's very good. Yes. I still use the weed whacker from... I don't know. How long ago was the weed whacker? It was a long time ago. Four or five years ago. Yes. And it's still great. I believe that is... And the Garden Tool Month or whatever it was. Got the big clippers. It was funny. The one, it was a set. And they were just connected by the funnoplastic, hard stuff. And it was a small clipper and a giant clipper. And we all had them walking around the casino. We all just had big clippers. It was like, I don't know what could go wrong. Sometimes you have stick knives, sometimes you... Yeah, remember the plates? I still have some of the plates. Yeah. A long time ago. I remember there was a luggage thing. It was before I was ever on it. My friends patent had their were on it. And I didn't even know about the free price thing. Like it was before I really ever played. And it was... It had a cool design to it. And it was a really nice set of luggage.
I couldn't believe that they were... And then my favorite is the bedding. Oh, yeah. The pillows, the comforter, the sheets. That's my favorite. And then a throwback. That may be coming around again. I think you do that almost once a year. Right around the fall is kind of their thing. I have a couple of different sets. I think maybe... I don't know why. Maybe it was the same stuff that came around. But anyway, I have it in the RV. And then I have another one. Yeah. It's a good stuff. Well done. All right, we'll do a break here. And then we'll get into the entertainment news when we return. Well to go, the showdown, we need someone to play the showdown. And Molly has four questions. Four of the 10 are football related on account of the first night of football tonight. That's pretty cool. So we'll have that. Carl, I will join us later in the show. And then, as we have been mentioning, we're very excited. There will be pancake the pig coming into the studio. This is all part of the... As we prepare for the Spokane Interstate Fair.
Opening on Friday. Yeah. And we'll be back on the show for the first day of the showdown. It's a great day. It's a great day. Come on up. That and more as we continue, this is the Dave and Molly show from the New America studio. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Can you guess which old school Charlie's angel girl was into three sums? Talk out your answer. Well, well, the immediate assumption would be somebody like a fair faucet. she was with Lee Majors, they were hot to trut. She seemed adventurous, everybody wanted to be with her,
but I'm gonna go with Kate Jackson. She's a freak. Isn't she? Well, we say old school, but it's like, the series ran from 1976 to 1981. There were... Shelly Hack. Were there like six of them? All of you know that? Well, Cheryl Ladd, there were the three original, which is Kate Jackson, Jacqueline Smith, in Fairfosset, then Cheryl Ladd joined. Then I think shelly Hack maybe joined, then Teigs, what's her name? Wasn't it Teigs? Cheryl Teigs. I don't think Cheryl Teigs was a Charlie Angel. What was her other? Who else? I think who you're thinking of is the one at Tonya Roberts. Oh, Tonya Roberts. Tonya Roberts. Dirty Bird. Yes. Yeah. She joined the show for the fifth and final season, and her and her husband, Barry Roberts, were swingers.
Now, we know this because Jacqueline Smith, who was one of the original angels, and did she make it all the way through? Was she the only one that was all the way through? I believe it was. Sorry, I think even Kate Jackson bailed. Yeah. Jacqueline Smith said they tried to get her to join their ways. She declined, but she said that she found Tonya's honesty about her sexuality to be, quote, brave and self-aware. And now known to all. Yeah, everybody knows. Now, here's the other thing that's worth. The swinging part, you know, like, you know, there are swingers. Tonya Roberts and her husband, and then they're trying to find other people to join in everything. Yeah. Well, they stayed married for like 40, 50 years. Did you hear that, Molly? Even swingers. Until death did they part? Yes. Wow. They were married in 1973, and then he died in 2006.
She died in 2021. She died. She was only 65. Oh, see, maybe that swinger lifestyle's why they stayed together because they were honest about it and said, I need to dip my toes and other whatever. Careful. Once in a while. And then she said, OK, I'm going to watch. And then he says, OK, you can watch. And then she goes, now join in. And he said, yeah, bring your friend over. Let's just feel a little round robin. Should be fun. Maybe they're on to something, Dave. They were trying to get Jacqueline Smith. But so I don't know this, but I doubt that they were, you know, that he was trying to get like the devil's threesome involved. Boys are so, you know what? This is why boys are so dumb and bad because boys are dumb and bad. She says, no, not dumb and bad double standard much. The devil's threesome. Oh, good God. There's another boy in the room. Oh, no, I can't do that.
But you and your friend, yes, that's hot. You're fine touching each other's stuff. But we know not a boy. No, no, no, no, no. That's a double standard. The devil's threesome. What if you're the girl and you're like, you know what? I'd like to have double the fun. Bring it on, gentlemen, bring it on. What if that? And then, oh, no, because I don't want to see a friend naked. That will be Ike and what if we accidentally touch each other? But the girls, it's fine. Double standard, she says. Even I agree with it. I don't think there's as many women who are like, yes, bring on a second person for me to have to deal with. I think even for women, it's like fine. So we all agree. Bring somebody to share the word. Share the experience. You stay over there, stay over there.
I just think. But who knew this about Tony Roberts? I can't think it's a lot of work for the guy. You've got to, well, maybe not. I don't know. I can't get in the mind to follow that. Tony Roberts was a bond girl in 1985, a view to a kill. Yeah. And then she was in a 1984 movie called Shina. And then she was on that 70s show. That's right. She was. That's right. It did die young. That's sad. So where there are six total original angels in. So you have Fairfosset, Jacqueline Smith, Kate Jackson, then came Cheryl Latch. She was the fourth. Yeah, then Shelley Hack. OK, for sure. And Tony Roberts. OK, those are the only six. I believe so. Of the original. And then you had the new school. Right, then they did the movies and all that kind of stuff. Uh, I'm going to just.
Who knew Tony Roberts was a swinger? Well, now we know. And she stayed with her husband the whole time till death. Did they part? Mm-hmm. Who were they? Here were they go. Oh, you got them all. Yeah. Uh, yeah, it's exactly what we just said. Kate Jackson, Fairfosset, Jacqueline Smith, then Cheryl Latch, Shelley Hack, and Tony Roberts. Mm-hmm. And then. But I believe the original three were the only ones that were ever a top five show. Well, uh, fair lot left after the first year. She was only on the first year. And that's when Cheryl Latch. Cheryl Latch was a pretty good replacement. Cheryl Latch fit right in. And then I don't know who left. And then. But then you got Cameron Diaz drew Barry Moore, Lucy Lew, and then Demi Moore as the fallen angel. The reboot was I didn't realize there was a reboot with Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinsky.
Balinsky. In 2019. Was a TV show? No, it was a reboot of the movie. Oh, the movie. Oh, man. I don't know that I saw that. That was a different time. 70s television. That's what I grew up on. And I turned out just fine. Yes. You're great. Watching Charlie's Angels on a little black and white TV in my hand. Oh, my God. Stacy and I watched Charlie's Angels. We made that our life. We loved it. I was Kate Jackson or not. I was more I was Jack Lispitz and she was fair. She had the hair. Although I don't know if that was her favorite, but she definitely had the fair hair. Stacy. And it would just bounce. You are thing hiding behind. Yeah. Well, right there. Now don't you want to know the celebrities who got their start doing beauty pageants? Sure. Got it right here. I'm a good player. Who knew? You know, I didn't know that, but it makes sense.
She was attractive and smart. She won the title of America's Junior Miss in 1963. She was 17 years old at the time. And she represented the state of Arkansas. Kentucky. Kentucky. Cathy Lee Gifford. Cathy Lee Gifford won Maryland's Junior Miss in 1970. She was also 17. Oprah Winfrey. Really? Oprah Winfrey won the Miss Black Tennessee in 1972. Then a year later, she became the first female anchor on Nashville's news station. And good for her. And Nashville. Yeah. That's pretty young. In the early 70s too. Yeah. Linda Carter. Wonder Woman. Linda Carter. She was a Miss World USA in 1972. Yeah. Yeah. That totally makes sense though. She represented the state, the great state of Arizona.
Sharon Stone. This one I knew. She won Miss Crawford County in Pennsylvania in 1976. Michelle Fyfer. She was, see, I thought she was discovered being a checkout girl at a store in Los Angeles. I didn't know she had won a. Yeah. She was Miss Orange County, California in 1978. And then she won the county pageant. She goes to the state pageant. She finished sixth for Miss California that year. And there was a stretch of time when, with them talking about Miss America where it was California in Texas. It was just like, it always. Dominating. It always one of them. So tough competition there in California. Big state and all. Vanessa Williams, we know that one. She was the first black woman to win Miss America in 1984. She had to give up her title when there was a magazine, pictures over and stuff. That was a bad deal. It was a really bad deal.
Yes, it was. Halle Berry. Halle Berry was a Miss teen, all American in 1985. Oh. Then in 1986, she won Miss Ohio and finished second in the Miss USA pageant. I didn't know that. I don't know any of this. Quite something, isn't it? It is something. There was a girl just, I just, I don't know what it made me think of it, but it was an advocacy, you know, as I usually am. And I was getting, I was caching out at the thing and there was a cocto atress behind me. Waiting. She was starting to get changed. She was one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen in my life. I'm not kidding you. She was like stunningly gorgeous. And what happened was I hear this guy and she's sitting there with her train. She's trying to just get changed. And I hear him say, Paul me crazy. And then, I have to work now, blah, blah, blah, blah. She was okay. Yeah, thanks, but okay.
And I turn around and I look at her and I said, I'm sorry, this is taking a minute. She said, that's okay. And I said, was he just hitting on you? She said, yeah. Oh. And I said, does it happen a lot? She said, yeah. And I said, well, that makes sense. But I thought if I were a big producer or something, I would say, you, I'm taking you. It was like, you don't want to see somebody that's so beautiful. It's almost shocking that they are that and she's working and I'm thinking, how the hell is she get through her day? These guys, it must be non-stop. And she was, she had a great body too, but she looked like a supermodel. There she is. Out near White Heights. Somebody don't discover her. They will. I think you just did. Well, I may have. I don't know. I just felt bad. Just get her on the show. But then I thought, how many different ways has she let people down? And then this guy, good for him, taking a swing at it, you know. And to lead with, call me crazy. It's like, you know, she's like 21 years old.
Our food is almost here. Almost here, okay. Speaking of beautiful people. Yeah. Remember, Chloris Leechman? Yes. The Leech. She was in a beauty contest. Yeah. She was in the 1946 Miss America pageant. She did not win. No. I'm trying to find some other ones here. Oh, Delta Burke. Oh, that makes sense. She was gorgeous. Delta Burke. Yeah, she was a Miss Florida, I believe. Representative Florida in 1975. Miss America. Or Miss USA. Don't get those two mixed up. Miss USA and Miss America. Totally different. Because like the Miss Spokane thing, that is a, that's under the Miss America umbrella. Right. And that is the, I believe, to this date, the largest scholarship in the, in the world in the history of the world. Quite something. The other one is just like to be pretty.
My god, he's arrived. The food is here. The food is here, but I don't believe it outside. So I'm actually kind of worried that I think I should go out and get it. I hate to cut this. I just wanted to see if there were any other people. That's it. I think we covered them all. Perfect timing though, don't you think? Yes. Yeah, worked out well. I don't know why you steal our food though. Yeah, we don't want to lose our food. Yeah, and we have to consume it all before the pig comes in. Definitely. You know, we've got to get some out of here. Because I think, what did I have? I have something with sausage. Yes. Yeah. I'm going to save the water melon for the piggy. Just in case. Oh, do pigs like watermelon? Oh, they literally eat anything. Oh, I think he would eat bacon in front of us. Oh, we don't want to make him do that. All right. All right, let's do a break here. Oh, and we do need someone to play the showdown. If you want to play, check in with this via the text line. We'll get that all lined up. We're going to go to break. We're going to have some breakfast. And then we'll come back with the showdown. And you have to know something about football. It's a way she can be mad. There's some football questions in there.
OK. Back with more. When we continue, the David Mollyshow from the New America studio. It's time for Dave's cash showdown. Time for you to throw down. Winning in a million incidents. Dave comes in and answers in again. If your scores inferior and Dave will reign superior, it's time to play around. Everybody's saying now. Dave's cash showdown. Oh, and it's a special football showdown. Molly claims that she has four football questions that are part of the showdown trivia today. Oh, it's very exciting. And one of them is going to be a $5 question. OK. Even though it's football. Yeah. All right. I think it's a little obscure, but I might be wrong. Maybe both of you are going to go, ha, ha, ha, we knew that. You're dumb. Pass. We need someone to play. Now, Larissa had checked in and she wanted her husband
to play, but she was trying to coordinate with him to call in. And I'm watching. I'm watching to see if the phone rings. And also, well, while we were, while we were away, we ate food. Hey, that Rosie's place downtown. We're getting a thumbs up enthusiastic thumbs up. And went out. Uber guy was right out there. And he was about to take a picture to say I left it here. He handed to me. He was in his pajamas, basically. Oh, that's the way of the world. He looked like he had just rolled out of bed. Fine with me. And then tell how much did you, how much was it all? Well, a little bit more than if we had gone to the restaurant. But the price of the prices weren't bad. For what we got. And then did you have to pay a delivery fee in a tip and like all the stuff they start stacking on there? There's a delivery fee, a service fee, and then the tip. And it was, as I said, they had the things.
Thank you. You're great. You're awesome. You're the best. What did you, what are you? I was fine with great. OK, you're great. I wasn't good. I was great. But I'm not going to be awesome. Oh, I got it. OK, who do we have? OK. Perfect diamond on them. Who is this? Good morning. Brian. Hey, Brian. Brian, hello. Brian, our number one listener. And I know he is a very big football fan. Yes, he is. Yeah, well, we'll see. Turn down YouTube things. Mm-hmm. Look at this catch up. I don't know. This is not from this delivery, but something else that was brought. I think this could have been from when Natasha brought us breakfast or something. OK. Yeah. I think we missed Larissa's husband. Sorry, Larissa. Yeah. Maybe tomorrow. You know, it is football week. So maybe you have more football questions. Sure. Maybe you do. OK. I'm Brian. You're going to be watching the Seahawk game tonight. Or are you mostly concerned about the game tomorrow night? I was checking out the games tonight.
But yeah, tomorrow night, my Rams are playing. So Brian's a Rams fan. And of course, the Seahawks, after beating the Rams three times last year. OK, Dave. Now, let's not rile up their friends. They got to go to the Super Bowl while the Rams, of course, you know, they are, they got shipped off to Australia. D&D's team is also a big Rams fan. Yeah. Well, I'm truth be told, I'm scared of death of the Rams this year. This is, they are loading up. They're going all in. And I have their defense on my fantasy league. See? Hi. Hi. The guys are looking good too. So we're going to have some good teams there. We hope it outcomes. Right. OK. All right. So Molly's got four football questions. She also has a show question. And there's a $5 question that is one of the football questions. It is. Now it's Brian on the phone and it's making me nervous. I don't know.
I met a bigger football fan or now it's based on Dave's policy. I'm sure it happens. All right. I'm going to leave the studio. Molly has the questions. Good luck, Brian. Let's do you as well, Dave. Hey, Brian, do you put a need? Do you bet on the teams? Like do you go out and put futures bets or anything? No. No. I do not. I do not. I am going to your church this morning now. You are. How come? Senior day? I don't want to see you day and dad. Go check it out. All those things. I was there yesterday. And I thought I wasn't going to be able to go today. But I shouldn't. So I think I think I should find other things to do with my time. All right. Brian, are you ready to throw down on the showdown? Let's throw it down, special Molly. Here we go. What is the real name of the rock star prints? What is this first? Oh, gosh. Ah, pass.
OK. Which NFL division has the most super balls shared among the teams? And it's a little different. I'll send the angst. OK. Which sign of the zodiac is represented by a man pouring water from a jar? On Libra? In the NFL, how many time outs does each team get per half? Three. What weather phenomenon swept Dorothy Gale to the land of Oz? tornado. What is the top layer of the earth called? Chris. How long is an NFL play clock? Oh, 25 seconds. What city does Spider-Man primarily protect? New York City.
Which NFL team plays in a stadium? This is your $5 question. Which NFL team plays in a stadium nickname, the Death Star? Ooh, that is a good question. I'm going to say the Arizona Cardinals. All right. And from today's show, Molly watched two documentaries yesterday. Name one of them. Oh, I can do the full. Have you seen it? No. I loved it. I just talked about it before. I loved it. And I'm going to say Prince Edward something. I can't remember what Prince is. OK. Fair enough. Dave's back. And I just focused a lot on, yes. Now I'm worried that, well, we'll see what Dave answers. And then we'll see. I took my trivia straight off of an NFL trivia site. So it should be accurate. Did he win $5?
No. How did he do with the football questions in general? He did all right. And did he get the show question? Yes. OK. Oh, boy. I got the work cut out for me. Yes. All right. My turn to play. Here we go. What is the real first name of Rockstar Prince? Prince Rogers Nelson. So his first name is Prince. Yes. That's what you're saying. Which NFL division has the most super balls shared among the teams? Like basically, which division has gone to Super Bowl? Like Super Bowl wins or been to the Super Bowl? Most Super Bowls. When they all have to go to the beach, so well. Super Bowls. I will say the NFC East. Which sign of the zodiac is represented by a man pouring water from a jar?
She's. I don't know that. All right. In the NFL, how many timeouts does each team get per half? Three. What weather phenomenon swept Dorothy Gale to the Land of Oz? A tornado. A twister. What is the top layer of the Earth called? The crust. How long is an NFL play clock? Play clock is 30 seconds. All right. What city does Spider-Man primarily protect? Chicago. Which NFL team plays in the stadium? Here's your $5 question. OK. Which NFL team plays in a stadium nickname the Death Star? The Raiders. Damn it. Boom. Yes. And from today's show, Molly watched two documentaries last night. Name one of them. One of them was the toxic romance.
Toxic date. Toxic. Oh, toxic. The other one. The other one was. Oh. Do you have to get them both to win? No, it's a day one of them. Oh, haven't even got one of them. Well, you didn't quite get it, right? But it close enough. Toxic romance, wasn't it? Toxic love story. Loves love story. But the other one was pity the fool. Oh, yes. That's right. Brian got that one. All right. At point for day half point. Oh, boy. Now let me ask you something because you guys have two different answers. And on the play clock, I had 40 seconds. That's what it said. But he said 25 and you said 30. So we need clarification on that one. It might be 40. All right. So let's see. I think he's right. I think it's 40. He said 25. I said 45. I said 40. Oh, I think it is 40.
OK. Then. I'm pretty sure now that I think about it. Yeah. All right. Then. But I got the $5 one. And you know why they call the the raider one the death star? Because it kind of looks like that from an aerial shot. It's like, oh, it's just in fact, when they were building it, that's that got the name as they were building it. The Brian, I thought you were going to know that. I know. I couldn't know now. I believe it is day when 74. Oh, OK. Let's go through them though. Come. Because I survived. The first two prints is Princess real first name. It's the actual name. It's the NFC East. Yep. Very good. Aquarius. I'm just interested in that one. Oh, sorry. What did you think I was saying? Well, I was thinking we were talking about the like confidence of method. I didn't think division. Oh, like the oh, you said you said the NFC or he said, well, I said division, but they're fine.
It's five. It's seven to five. I gave you an extra one. Yeah, see the NFC East they have they have the cowboys, giants, redskins and eagles. So you have those, those, you had all those up. Would you have known it if I had said it that way? Probably not. OK, then it's still 74. It's the Aquarius is the man pouring the water. OK. Three very good three time outs. You both got tornado. You both got crust. And then neither of you got the play clock. I have it at 40. I think you're I think it is 40. It is 40. OK. All right. Very good. And then it's New York that he protects not Chicago Spider-Man. And Brian got that. I think my I think my scoring is right. And then Dave got the Las Vegas Raiders for the Death Star. And then you both got the show question. Well, I got half of it. Yeah. Are part of half.
Did he get involved? For. No, actually got five. One, two, three, four, five. I think that's something that was five. It's five to seven. OK. Seven to five. That looked better. Well, Brian, thank you for playing. Congratulations from our friends at New America Credit Union Proud Sponsor of Dave's Cash Show. The American Credit Union, they are the credit union that invented football. Yeah, it's true. Not a lot of people know this. But before football was ever invented, it was a New America Credit Union. They said, you know what? We need a new sport. How about we put on some leather helmets and have a pig skin and have guys just go crazy, kind of like rugby. But then you can also throw it over people's heads. And you can run and push and tackle. And let's have 11 on each team because 11 was the standard size of the normal New America Credit Union branch because they have the people in front and they have the people in the back. And so 11 is a perfect number. So let's have football teams have 11 members, much like New America Credit Union.
All goes back to New America Credit Union. So if you're a Seahawk fan, because they won the Super Bowl last year and they played tonight, thank New America Credit Union. Always remember, New America Credit Union, if they weren't there, there would be no football. And five three cups of digital from Spokane St. Post. Do you notice how many times he mentioned Seahawks and the Super Bowl and the winning and the... You know what it is. You know what it is. I think. All right, Brian, well, thanks for playing. I can send you a picture if you'd like. And we're all... Picture's fine. Okay, we're good to go then. Did you guys think you were going to get the fair Friday? Yeah, at some point we are going to get the fair. Yes, we're figuring that out. Yeah, but it's not sure. We're going to go to the Speakeasy. Mm-hmm. Oh yeah, I'll be working there for a few hours in the afternoon. You're working at the fair? Well, with the scope is doing part of some thing there that I'll be part of. Okay. With the Sheriff's Department. Yeah.
Yeah. From there from two to six. Two to six. Oh, we'll probably see you if you're there on Friday from two to six. I think the Speakeasy doesn't have a top food. We'll be there at some point. Yeah. All right, cool. Thanks, Brian. Well, so it's one day. Yep. All right. Good luck to you guys tomorrow. Thank you. Good luck to our defense. We'll see you on tonight. You're getting very excited about the defense. Well, it's very important. All right. There goes, Brian. Next time we play the showdown will be tomorrow. Now tomorrow is the day after the first game. And there will be an Australian football game. It will be the Rams and the 49ers. So I don't know if there's more football questions. I don't know. You want me to do more football questions? Well, I can do more football questions. I like football questions. Sure, why not? If you want to. And we do have to clear this up. Yes. D&D Steve cleverly points out. He's another Rams fan. We got a lot of Rams families in the show. The Las Vegas, oh, the Rams did beat the Seahawks last year.
Oh. Ah. Hi. Oh, you still there? Yeah. I'm still there. I'm here. All right. See you, Brian. Bye, Brian. Yeah, they had some very tough battles. They split in the regular season. And then the Seahawks won the crazy game in the playoffs. OK. All right. Everything's fine. Everybody knows what happened in the football world. Yeah, I'm very excited about the football situation. In April, I think that I made a goods trade yesterday. Not trade waiver. Would I do? You picked somebody up on the waiver wire. Yeah, there was a Buffalo Bill guy who had a crappy rating. We dumped him. Got rid of him. So we only have one guy playing tonight. And that's Jackson Smith. How do you say his name? In Jigma. In Jigba. He's a superstar. Is he? Yeah. He's a white receiver. From the Ohio State.
And then you have a defense tomorrow, as a people, we've learned. And tomorrow, I also have, what is a D-slash S-T mean? That's defense special teams. Oh, yes, I have that. But I don't have any other Rams. Do you have any 49ers? No. And who did you pick to win that game? Because you made your picks already, right? Yes, that is, I picked the Dolphin. Oh, no, no, no. I'm sorry, I was looking at the Raiders. I picked the Rams. OK. At home. To get the Seahawks tonight and the Rams tomorrow. OK. Yeah. Just like that's pro pro pro pro pro prognostication. And then for my a liminator survivor league, it's a lion. So I just need the lions to get through this first week. Right. And then you can never pick them again. Right, that's OK. And you picked. I haven't locked it in yet, but I'm leaning toward the chargers.
Got it. Because they play the cardinals. And the cardinals technically are, I think they, I think they can beat some high school teams. Like if they, you know, some of the smaller places around. Here's the other thing you guys. This is active for a till tomorrow, checking. We have a lot of entries, a lot of brand new people. If you want some fair tickets, text us up 509-448-3237. Just text the word fair. And I made it easier this time. You can actually some people are even saying, what do we do for fair tickets? And it still gets in there. As long as you get something back that says you're in, then you're in. And then tomorrow we'll do a random drawing like towards the end of the show. We will, and then you'll get a notification that you've won the tickets. And then we'll put them at will call for you the fair. Pairs the tickets. So four of them. The 10 day run of the fair will start on Friday. We will have a guest who will be at the fair.
I believe all of the days, right? I believe it's for sensory day. Oh, sensory day only. On the Tuesday. But we have a real pig coming into the studio. Yeah, that'll be great. And you get to see it right here on YouTube. Hey, one other thing we got to mention this. Jason just texted in. Yes. Jason hadn't texted since July or since June 11th. But today he says, good morning, David Molly, texting you right now from Dulan Ireland. Dulan. That's pretty good. Man. We've got somebody listening in Ireland today. That's nice. Jason. I wonder if he's listening on the app or if he's watching YouTube. You can watch YouTube all over the world too. That's true. Ken. We're everywhere. Can't stop us. I want to eat more of my food. Nope. We have to stay on. Yeah, what was it? Rosie's. Oh, it was incredibly good. Very, very good. Yes. Here's what we're going to do. We're going to go to break. And then we'll come back and Kali will be with us.
Yeah. Yep. And so when we come back, we're not going to come on and then have her walk in. No, that'd be real. So she's here. And then that'll give us time to finish her breakfast. All right, back after a break. This is the David Molly Show from the New America studio. Thank you. We now return to the David Molly Show. Hey, welcome back, everybody. David Molly Show continues and look who's here at our friend Kali. Good morning. How are you guys? Yeah. But everything's back to normal schedule now for a while, except for Sam. It's a family suite. I'll pray to you guys use all your vacation time right around here, huh? Yeah. Not so much in the summer. Yeah. Well, one thing that's funny we've talked about it is our kids are going to the same school, right? So college. So then that kind of happens for us at the same time. So both of us went to Phoenix and dropped the kids off.
Separate kids, separate families. And so yeah. And then like, yeah, there's just windows where you can't take it, you know? Sure. So yeah. How's she looking at? I guess. I don't know. I'm just trying to think. I'm looking off. I'm looking like sometimes the answer is on the ceiling. If you look up, you'll find out what's up. My friends are on the Alaskan cruise right now. Oh, yeah. Is it the same boat? The Norwegian boat? It's the boat I went on. OK. Princess one. Have they been enjoying it? I don't have and talked to them. I just knew they were taking off. I don't know if I'm going. Everybody's doing that Alaskan cruise. I don't know what the weather's like up there. I thought I'm not in Hawaii. Oh, yeah. Those poor folks, this is second hurricane to Hawaii. Yeah. And it's been a lot. I think the Hawaii had like no power for anybody there. And then 300 people were at shelters as well for A shelter. No, I would, I don't know. Shelters. Plural, I guess I'll say. Unlike here, a beautiful inland northwest. Oh, it's gorgeous right now. Yeah.
Yesterday afternoon was fantastic. Yeah. And just I mean, it was funny when I came back from Phoenix on Monday night. It was raining. And I'm like, oh, I forgot. It's almost fall. Yeah. Down in Phoenix, it's still over 100 degrees in sunny and blue sky. I'm like, oh, no, this is kind of a cozy transition weather. But yeah, 70s today and sunny. So let me ask you this, because we don't want to get too footbally here. OK. Does today mean anything to you? It's opening night and the seahawks are playing. Yes. Oh, it does. It does not. Oh. Oh. It's kind of fun when I think like, oh, like I know, like our neighbors who are good friends, they'll probably be watching the game. So like if we ended up going over there or something. But like, am I scheduled to watch it at 5.20 tonight? No. And I mean, I think it's cool. Like we had big coverage this morning on the morning show. And we have Austin gets our sports director there talking about the game ahead and the season ahead. It's on our channel. Yeah. So I mean, that is huge viewership.
The first of three, I believe they have two Sunday night games this season. Yeah. Wait. Oh, technically a Sunday night game. Yeah. I know. I think leads. I have a fantasy league, a pick them and a survivor league. So you are invested all the way. Wow. And tell everybody your world famous quote about fantasy football. Even if you win, you're still a loser. Yes. I disagree with that, but that was hilarious when you said, you're full credit for that. Well, it's very funny. And there's a trend now too, where if you lose the fantasy, your fantasy football league, you have to like do a dare by your league. That's kind of something to do that. Isn't that how Sam ended up? Isn't that how his friend ended up with the reversal of fortune, something or other, with like the dare? Oh, it might have been. They had to do the Costco challenge, where you eat every food that they have at the food court.
Gross. And it was like in the middle of winter and his friend did it, but then lost it all over to he. Reversal of fortune. Out on the ice. And it stayed there all winter. Gross. I thought it was something like that. I think that's true. I think you're right. Yeah. Yeah. My son's fantasy league, Gloucester, the boy who lost how to do the milk mile, where you got gallant of milk and then run a mile. Oh, God. Yeah. Did that end up in a reversal? It ended exactly how you got it ended. Yeah. Gross. So either you win. Right. Yeah. And your lose are still. Or you lose and you lose. Yeah. So when Sam took his son down to school, they went golfing, they went to all these things. What are you and your daughter doing there? We had so much fun. Oh, good. It was a great time because we're just chatty. Like we're both women who have millions of things to say. But it was so funny because she got, she shopped for everything like all decor and everything in her room. So we shopped for two days.
Oh, yes, with meals in between. Good deal for her. Yeah. Well, she paid for everything. Oh. Water food. Yeah. And she's a saver. And so last year it took two days, but it would be like, she's contemplating on this $5 frame at Walmart. And I'm like, OK, we're not doing that. Like we're making big purchases. We're going. So we're at Home Depot and there's a rug. And it's $200. And I'm like, you like it? Let's go. We're doing it. I just picked it up, put it on my shoulder, and just started walking. And she's like, all right, well, here's my debit card. I can't watch. I'm like, good for her. Boy, you don't know me, girl. So does she decorate each time she goes? Well, last year, I guess, she shared a room with somebody. So they shared a lot of stuff. This year she bought new stuff. And I don't know if you keep that, right? Yeah. Yeah. And that's the thing. I'm like, this is good stuff to purchase. It's like, you know, you're a little adult now
and you can afford, you worked all summer. You can afford this rug. Where did she work at all summer? And you're buying it. Where did she work? Oh, she works at twigs. Oh, it twigs. Oh, I didn't realize that. No side twigs. Yep. And I say, I'm like, you live and eat for free at my house. So, yeah, save your money. Work, save your money. And then when you go to Phoenix, that's on you. Yeah. Oh, yeah. But like I said, we went to some good eateries and I bought dinner and stuff like that. But we had a conversation on going down because gas. I'm like, this is your car. You decided to drive it here. You know? So anyway, we ended up splitting that 50, 50. I'm like, it's fine. I guess that's okay. See, and the difference with my mom is that she tries to pay for every single thing. And I'm like, mom, no, I can get, nope, Bobby, I have it. I have it. And she will argue with me that she has to pay for everything. And I have to draw the line and say, no, I'm treating. Yeah. I don't ever remember her ever saying the words, you wanted it, you had to buy it. Oh my gosh, that's so funny.
I can't tell how, I mean, if she could do that, that is awesome. But I feel like I always tell my kids, they always want something, or like this is their whole life. Like kids always want something, want, want, want. And then when you say, okay, if you really want it, like, you should pay for it, suddenly they don't want it as bad. Suddenly they're like, The fuel is less glamorous. I learned that at Silverwood, you put $40 on their little bracelet, they come back with $38 left. They want the change. If I was paying, I'm not saying it's the right thing to do. And she knows that. She knows that. She just, she can't stand. She always feels like she should pay for everything. She will let me treat her once in a while, of course she will. But her instinct is always like, you don't need to learn less than here. I'm just paid. Yeah. Well, and as an adult, like I think it's such a treat to be able to pay for my parents. Like, and that's what you want to do for your mom. Like, look what you did for me my whole life. Like what an honor to be able to buy you dinner or take you out.
So it's, we've probably talked about it here. Like, it's, it's, you know, you got to teach your kids how to take care of their money and manage their money. But then it's also like a gift to be able to do it because you want to. And you have to be able to receive it as well. Like this is what this person wants to give to me and treat me. And I will say, yeah, I will accept. Yes. Well, I think I was always pretty good with my money. So I think that, because I was responsible and she always took care of us. And I just kind of watched her. But, but I do know that when you have a kid who's taking and taking and taking and then it's like, okay, we're done. Yeah. And then expectation. Like, they have an expectation that you're going to pay for it. And it's like, no, that's different than I'm paying for it. And you're thankful because you know I don't have to. Right. So anyway, we would shop in for two days. I earned her curtains. She has like this bedskirt. I was like under there pinning her bedskirt to her bed. And I'm like, okay, when I drop off her brother, it's going to take 30 minutes. And he's going to wonder why we were even there that long.
We're going to like have to convince him like, no, like you should buy some sheets. Like that mattress is used every year by a different person. You might want a protector. Yeah. And what's his story for next year? Does he have a he's only a junior right now. But is he does he does he have an idea of like what where he may end up? No, he is thinking about college though. And then this year he said, my goal is to get a 4.0. And we were like so proud. We're like, oh my gosh, Kiko has a goal. Like he hasn't even he hasn't done it. He just said that's his goal. And we were so proud that he has a goal. Did he verbalized it? Yes. So now do they pay for their own college or do you guys take care of that? So we saved some money for them that they got. And then my daughter is saving that. Like she invested it back in and then we're cash rolling her through college. But she has a contract sign like we have a contract that says,
once she has a job for six months, she's going to start making payments back to us. To you. Yeah, rather than didn't love. Yeah, so we're alone in it. We're loaning it to her. That's genius. Yeah. Is why pay the interest like why? And if you can, if you can, like I why not? Yeah. Because yeah, that state keeps it all in the family. And if something God forbid happens and she is behind, you know, you can say, okay. And you treat schools so much differently if you think it's your money. If you think if you have an idea of how much it costs and what you're paying or what you're going to end up paying back. So. So how does it work at at GCU? Do they have is there like a food plan or are they on their own for all meals or how does that work? That's a good plan. I think it's required at least your freshman year. It's more expensive and then like once you're like in a quote unquote, an apartment on campus, you have a kitchen. Okay. Oh, that's good.
So they can ended that she's in an apartment this year. Yeah. And they're basically glorified dorms. Like they're still the school owns. You have to move out in the summer. Like it's, you know, unless you're staying for the summer. But yeah, they're big. It's like a four bedroom, two bathroom, and then like a little common area. Do you know I found out about it? Contact, which is so cool. I was thinking about kids, students who are eating and all of that. So if you have an event at contact and you know, the food is always left over because we're having our event there. And so we said what will happen to the food and they said, well, we have a program. People can sign up and at nine o'clock or nine thirty on the night of the program. Anybody who is signed up can come bring a container and take food from our event and take it back to their daughter to their home. Yeah. So it can be anybody who it doesn't even have to be students, but a lot of older students, a lot of people with food and securities and that it could be anybody really in the community. But they know and I love that because you don't want to waste that food and now somebody
is going to use it. They started it last year. I can't remember what the program is called, but I think all the catering services should you do in that. That's amazing. It's smart. So you're a hungry student and it's nine o'clock on Saturday night. You're like, let's get our containers. So when I go to your event then if I go for seconds, I'm taking food from the kids. Yes, the kids. Yeah. Dave. When is that? Do you talked about that here? October 10th. Nice. Yeah. It'll be good, but I just love that this is the first time. A lot of times we'll pack it up, but then you know, it's craziness and stuff. This is just perfect. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know if any other universities do that, but it's not so smart. Yeah, free food. And speaking of, we talked about that on the show. Did you guys talk about the free stuff? Yeah. It used to be free. That's not anymore. That's how they, and Molly ordered us breakfast this morning. Yeah. And it was like an Uber, each thing. Okay. And then what was it? There was the regular charge. Yeah. Then there's the delivery fee, the handling fee, then the tip.
Yeah. I mean, I would rather just not know. Just tell me that I'm praying. This is the price of the food. Yeah. Maybe some people like a breakdown, but I don't want to break down. Well, I'll be like, why am I paying for a handlers fee when I'm paying for the delivery fee? And how is that different? And then the tip goes a percentage of all that together. It's not like just the food is, okay, I'm tipping on the food. Well, no, you're tipping on all the fees that have already rolled in. So it keeps rolling out. Right. The ticket was you pay on the cost like before tax, but probably should. But I mean, but when you see the bottom line, that's what everybody looks at. Okay. Well, that's the number. Yeah. That's what I've always done. Now I have to train myself to be like, no, it's actually supposed to be before tax. I don't know what etiquette is if you have 15 fees, are you paying tax on the fee? No, you're not paying tip on the fee. Well, they're calculating it that way. And I can't get to my receipt yet because I was going to give you an actual thing.
But yeah, the way they calculated it, it was after all these things. Now do you want to do 10, 12, 15, 18% or whatever? And then they give you different grades of who, how great you are. You're either okay. Great. You get great in. You're the best. Okay. I'm the best. I just gave you business. How do you get graded low? And then the guy showed up in his pajamas. It was awesome. He'd probably roll that a bed. He's like, oh man. He goes over to Rosie's. He walks over here. He's like, how's it going? And then he makes like 10 bucks. Wow. Yeah. Do those guys, but those guys get hourly pages too? No. I don't know how that works. So with Uber Eats, I believe, and we've gone back and forth about this. I think when you first start with Uber Eats, all you're making is your tips. Like that's it. Okay. And then once you get to a certain place, then you get, okay. You start like those service charges start to go to you or something. There has to be something more in it. Otherwise, if you're just relying on tips, right? When's the last time you did Uber Eats? I don't do Uber Eats. Never? I have a thing with, well, one, you guys know, spending money.
Yes. And then two, I like hot, hot food. Yeah. This was delivered hot. I would say it was. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, I'm usually not that hungry to like pay for because if I'm, well, I'll say like that's if I'm hungry, I need to eat now. So like, I don't have the wherewithal to be like, I'm going to order Uber Eats and then wait for it to get here and then pay extra for it to get here. I'm like, I just bring leftovers for my house. See, usually I do that. I use up for you to do. Well, Ken, Ken makes all these delicious things in Dave and I share and we have all of that stuff like that. But today, I didn't have any of that. Yeah. And somebody we were talking about stuff and then I said, I want to have Uber Eats now. See, that's kind of fun though. We entertained ourselves. We did a segment by the time the segment was over at the food museum. Yeah. Awesome. That sounds wonderful. It's not like you can leave before. Oh, right. So you could be so hungry. Yeah. Okay. That's a great idea. It's got us through. Usually we plan better, but today we didn't so. Yeah.
Now, back to the football. The game doesn't affect you guys at all, but it obviously affects Sean and Leslie tonight, right? So they'll do on it. Will they be before and after? Is that how that works? There's a three o'clock newscast and then a prime time, which comes after the game. Okay. And there's a four, five and six on our streaming platform. So you can watch it. Oh. Are they on that too? I, well, it would be between them and then Corey Howard's the other anchor and then. Yeah. So it'd be between probably those three on who's doing what shows. Because I know Corey usually does the four. So yeah. So we still have you covered when it comes to all. Yeah, you do. Oh, yes. Everywhere you look. The people that really care who don't care about football care passionately about jeopardy and will afford. Yeah. Oh, my goodness. So what do you do about that? Where does jeopardy will afford to go after our prime time newscast? So they're going to be staying up late. Like it's scheduled for nine, but if the game goes longer, it's going to start even later. But when we used to have the phones in the newsroom, like people like they were ringing,
they'd be ringing off the hook. Is that the number one thing people are mad about? Yes. Yeah, so it didn't go long after that very. But let's look at things, Нходee, let's see, uh, exactly how we Sure did this, I can't know. So we statements all over New Jersey or Ciri S picture production you can come up and talk about those options. Yeah. Yeah, so that's probably the best way you do it. Yeah, I didn't like it since, right? We'd like to. Oh, yeah. Okay. So we have, um, our dad, uh, a little bit older than we've got what, he's just told And I think it's good if we can do it on the same day. Sometimes I think they have to like, hold it for the next day or something along those lines. I think there's been times where it's like, we don't get to air both every day. Yeah, it's hard. Or on that day. Start getting into sports programming. Yeah. So Sarah says that the GCU apartments are so big, they believe that they won an award for best on campus apartments.
Oh. They seem nice. Do they seem like extra nice? Oh, do you see when you were there? I lived like my daughter's room. I shared with one other person and then it attached to a hallway where you went down to a bathroom that you shared with 30 other people. Oh boy. You know? But this is a very common trend. Like I think now campuses are, lots of schools have like suites and your own bathroom. Maybe like a sink in there. That's way more common now than just like. Did she have a bathroom in hers? Yeah, she and a, it's four bedroom, two baths. So she and another girl share one bathroom. And then the other two roommates share in a bathroom. But each person gets their own bedroom. Yeah. Oh, that's good. So did you stay there with her? That was my idea. And she's like, mom, no. And I'm like, what? It's fine. At this time, I'm paying for this apartment. Yeah. Yes, I am. But then we ended up not and in retrospect, I'm like, that's actually a great idea. That would have been not fun. Just staying on the hotel somewhere nearby.
Yeah. Well, that was much more pleasure. And you still reference it as Phoenix. That's what I do. Even though it's technically Glendale, right? It's right next to Glendale, but I think the mailing address is Phoenix. Oh, okay. I'm pretty sure the mailing address is Phoenix. But yeah, it looks, it's like right there. Yeah. So all the people that I've known in all, Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Gilbert, like all to me, that, well, it's Phoenix. But no, it's, you know, it's Gilbert. And technically, all of those places are bigger than Spokane. Gilbert, Arizona is bigger than Spokane. Yeah, then Spokane. Yes, yes. Gilbert is at Mesa, Tempe. I think there's seven, what do you call them? Many cities outside of Phoenix that are not technically Phoenix, but they are all bigger than Spokane by themselves. Yes. Wow. Yeah, it's crazy. I think, I don't know if it's because it's flat, but it doesn't seem overwhelming and big to me. Because I'm like, we stay in Scottsdale, but I can see like, driving down the road,
I can see Sky Harbor Airport. I can see like, downtown Phoenix. I'm like, so to me, it doesn't seem massive. Because I'm like, at all times, I can see where I'm going, if that makes sense. And the city is laid out fantastic. And their freeway system is maybe the best in America. That's a bold statement. It is, but I believe it's true. We stayed in Scottsdale and we were driving like you're her campus. And like, there were no problems. Yeah, it's, I mean, I feel like they have big wide roads. Don't they? Big beautiful ride. Wide Seattle one of the worst. I think it's the worst. I would see it like 10. Denver's not very good either. No. Portland is very confusing to me. I always get lost going through Portland, but Seattle to me growing up in LA, and I know it's got a ton of traffic. There's eight ways to get over the canyon. There's 10 ways to get to the beach. Like in Seattle, there's one way to get one place because of the water that you're just, you can't help it. Yeah. You're just kind of, that's kind of what you're stuck with.
Because that was going to be my question. Is it worse than LA? It's yeah. I don't think LA, there's a lot of people, but I always, I know having choices now with apps and stuff. For us, we had to just think, okay, let's go with Beverly Glen today or let's do Mulholland today or whatever. But you could pick a canyon, and then you could also do, there's two different freeways. So, 405, you got the 101, you got five canyon, four canions going over, so you could pick a different way to get some place. But we didn't, you didn't know until you got there. So it's like, damn it, we should have taken the other canyon or whatever. But now with apps, you could totally know what's free. Very soon, instead of maple, take the North South freeway. That's right. Very soon, just around the corner. Yeah. Just around the corner. We were on the, what they call the North South corridor. Yes. Oh, it's called the North Spokane corridor. Yes. It's what it's officially called. But then North South freeway is, whatever it calls us. Yeah. We drove by there the other day.
They've made progress. Oh, and it's finally happening. Going out to the ballpark, you know, the back way there. And yeah, we've been, uh, wait, how did you get on? Where'd you get on? No, we didn't get on. We just drove past and there we go. So they have the right near the college, like the thing. And then you could see they're starting to effort over on this site too. It's my husband's little world, because we live up north, kind of where it starts. And so he gets on it. And for years, he could only go to Francis. Right. Because that's where it is. But now he can go to Wellesley. And that's where it is. That is progress. He does work at SEC. So eventually, perfect. One day, one day, we're still here. On this earth, he will make it to SEC on the North South. And SEC will probably have its own exit. It'll be an exit, right? Well, the thing goes right near it. Over there, parking lot. Yeah, it goes. And it's all or Nate. I was saying, why are they taking so much time? This is going to be hidden underneath an overpass.
Why is it all fancy? Let's get a move on. I've been meaning to ask this and I should know this as a reporter, because I've been a rich entry for the last year, where it's like, it's got design under it. Yeah. But then it looks hand painted. It looks like someone's painting. That's what I'm saying. Somebody's putting a lot of detail into that. So I honestly, I should go pitch that this morning. I'm not joking. Is it being hand painted? You should ask. Yeah. And if so, why don't you put your paintbrush down and keep building? That's terrible. I feel like a lot of people are wonder that. It's so worth it. It's not even related. I'm sure it's not even like Apple Sorge's. But the average person driving by goes, why does this bridge just end right here? But there's paint jobs happening. Well, and it's progress. I mean, it has to end somewhere to continue. I mean, it's the building it in stretches.
Natasha, who works on it, she's one of the engineers who works on it. She's what, and she says, it's real you guys. OK, but Natasha, here is out. Who's painting it and doing all the fancy stuff that's going to be under the overpass? Why? What is that? And then I would add, if you're going to do that, can't that be done later? I mean, now. Maybe the artists are available now, but the other engineer people doing stuff for not. I don't know. Part of our world. I love. This is what I love. We just ask the questions. And then there's actual people who know how to build a bridge. We're like, come on. Get with it, bridge builders, engineers. Why can't we fly faster? Yeah, come on. What's happening here? Why can't we just go? That is the thing. We're not just with this topic, but any topic. We throw something out, and there is somebody that knows and they will text in. We just had a guy who's having dinner in Ireland
and he's listening to the show. Yeah. Your job is changed. Well, all of our jobs has changed so much with technology. But that's crazy to think about 20 years ago. You guys just had colors sporadically throughout your shows. But now you wouldn't want to talk about this where you could see it, though. If you're on, it would be very distracting. Oh, OK. So you guys read it. We can, because we're not doing real news. But if you were just getting comments from viewers, like, why are we going glued at it? Or whatever, then you'd be like, and the, what do you mean by wearing blue sh**? Anyway, the constellation. They go to be hard. No, but that's cool, though. Like you guys get to have a constant conversation with your viewers or listeners. Or viewers and listeners. Yep. Yeah, the guy in Ireland was listening on the non-stop local app to World Wide App. Amazing. World Wide App. If you can still look on the map, or is that kind of?
I can't. We can see where people are listening, like all over the world. Does it tell you what they're doing? Like, if it's on the app or on YouTube? If for this, it would be people listening on the app. If anybody else is out of the country right now, please text in. Or if anybody's in Hawaii, let us know how you're doing. Yeah. It's still early there, though. Is it six o'clock there? Is it three hours to break down? They can, like, three right now. Sometimes it's three and I never know when. When we jump ahead, it'll be. I think it's two right now. I don't know. All I know is fall back. At some point. Oh, no, we're going to fall back. So it'll only be two when we fall back. I believe it's three now. OK. Let's see. Yeah. Look at that. See, look at that. Kala, you can just look. You can see it all in the back. We've got a bunch in the Seattle area. What is that? That's Idaho. California. California down here. Oh, there's somebody listening. Was that Cabo? What is this? That's, I don't know, somewhere in Mexico.
That's cool. Yeah. I don't see the iron one, guy, though. Maybe he's not listening anymore. All right. Natasha says quickly, the artwork, architecture features, were decided on through community engagement efforts we work with local artists. OK. We're a bunch of jerks. Look at us. Asses. But that's really cool. And I think we should answer that on TV. You should. And therefore, that's very separate, as I imagined, but still separate from the DOT trying to build a bridge. Yes. It's like, oh, ants. We don't want to disrupt the bridge builders. The art can happen at any time. Yes, approved by Dave Molley and Kali. Hey, do you want to stay for the pig? Well, you're going to come back to the pig. Because I got to go do something. I think the pig should be here any minute, right? Yeah. Yeah, we have a real pig coming in. I know. I think this is so awesome. We're going to be at the fair tomorrow, which I know it doesn't start till Friday. But then Pancake, the pig is going to be here and at the fair.
Yeah, coming up. You guys are broadcasting from the fair? No, both are. Oh, OK. Question for you. We're re-sposed to clear bringing a pig into the building. Oh, good question. And then we're going to clear it with. I don't know. Don't ask me those questions. I have like five bosses, and I never know who to ask. There was a time where no animals were allowed. Really? Yeah. And we couldn't eat at our desk. That was when the building was brand new. It's like when you get a new carpet, and your mom doesn't like you walk inside with any kind of shoes or eat anywhere. It's like when I vacuum. And I'm like, you're not allowed to walk around and eat. Yeah. It was like that. But now we can eat and bring pigs in. I think. I think ask one of our bosses. I know you've brought dogs in. Yeah. Dogs come in all the time. Yes. All right. Well, and we were just eating a big giant breakfast in here. A little while ago. So. And cake, the pig is here, you guys. Oh, it's very exciting. All right. And then we're going to find out how big the pig is and all the logistics. Yeah. This is going to be quite the spectacle. Yes, it is.
If you're, you can, you can see all this on YouTube, of course. All right. We're back after a break. There will be a pig on the set when we return. This is the David Mollie Show from the New America Studio. We now return to the David Mollie Show. Hey, welcome back, one and all. The David Mollie Show continues. And remember when we said we're going to have a pig in the studio. And we said, what's the worst thing that can happen? Well, our dreams have come true. It's sick. Oh. Is she pooping more? There is like, yeah. Oh my god. This is broke. This is pancake. I don't think they can see. Well, they can kind of see her there. Anyway, you can't see what's happening at the back end of pancake. And they said that, you know, this is, it's rare that this would happen. It is never happened. Never happened. She never broke the.
Oh my god. She doesn't even, she doesn't even go at the salon. You're going to get right up to the mic there. She's even go at the salon. She lives at the salon. She doesn't live. She lives with you. Yeah. But she goes there all day long. And she does not ever have. There's never an accident. But she's here for us. But she's here for us. Maybe she's just nervous. She knows where in and close room. Yeah. Yeah. Sweet baby. She is very cute. Now can we see? Can people see her? Kind of. Yeah. They can see. Yeah. When you're pet her and she, her head pops up. Hi pancake. There she is. Mm-hmm. How much is pancake way? I would say like 70 pounds. Well, that's not big. Oh, OK. Is she fully grown? No, she. Well, she could be. They say that she could get to like 150 max, but normally her breed gets like 80 to 100 pounds. And she's only 10 months old. Only 10 months old. Wow. Yeah. She's very sweet. And unpredictable. And unpredictable. Yeah. She has done both of her bodily fluids.
Both. And she's already done those this morning. But she's going to be on camera. She's going to be on nervous. Yeah. She didn't get to. And so the sensory day, she'll be more. No. OK. I'm ready. So sensory day at the fair. You're going to be their Tuesday with her. Yes. Yes, we will be their Tuesday from 11 to 5 p.m. OK. And there's going to be a lot of stuff going on there this year. It's the biggest one that we've had so far. There's going to be meeting the princesses. He's already in my chair. The symphony's going to perform twice. There's even going to be a floral sensory tables. And where will this be at the fair? This is going to be in the little sense. There's like a corner there in the sensory area. But the whole fair, that whole section, they're going to be turning the lights down, turning the music off for that six hour period of time.
OK. Which is great for the little kiddos. Absolutely. And if you're not sensory, you're more than welcome to come. Sure. It's really about allowing exclusivity, everybody being able to be there. And seeing a lot of people take for granted simple things, like being able to go get your haircut. So going to just the fair as simple as it is for a lot of us, it's not that simple. And so that's where sensory day is a big deal and why me cutting hair kids with sensory issues and having pancake. So you're going to be cutting hair at the same time? Not at the same time. That would be a crazy thing. She won't buy joy promise. You can. So now you promised a few. No, I know. I know. As many as she wants. She can have unlimited vegetables. Look at her. Just look at her. Oh, yeah. Happy come. I won't be cutting hair there that day. But we will have prizes where we're having pages from our coloring book that's coming out soon. I'll have little gift packs for everybody.
And there's going to be some raffle. OK. And this is all Tuesday. This is all going to be on Tuesday, September 15. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. And that's going to be at the Spokane County Fairgrounds. True. If you cut Ken Hopkins hair. True. True. Just his personal style. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And when he comes in to see what is he asked for? Like, can I get the business man special? Yeah, he just wants to be cleaned up. And I can tell you what he's the nicest human being on the planet. He is a very good man. He is a nice person. And he is, I try to like tell him, I'm like, that's Ken Hopkins. He's like the coolest in his so famous. And he'll just like shrug me off. But I'm like, don't let him be coy. He knows who he is. And he just laughs. He's always so, so sweet. Yeah. He'll be in tomorrow. Oh, fine. Oh, he just missed him. Yeah, he comes in every Thursday. You'll have to tell him that I said hello.
He would be hilarious about this. Oh, yeah. He didn't know about parenting. I haven't seen him since February. I don't think so. And his hair is down to here. Probably. Yeah. I'm seeing him. I'm so happy. He was like for his gum back to the run. So he won't do anything without Brooke. Right. So now, did you, was there a sensory day last year? There's a sensory day every year. OK, so now the pig. She was not there. Right, she was not more yet. She was in Borneia. Yeah, no. So there's a different pig. And then next year will there be a different pig? Absolutely not. No, she's on till the wheels fall off. Oh, OK. She's going to be around for a long time. They say with proper care, like 25 to 30 years, possibly. Oh, my God. But I really think that depends on their diet and their surroundings and things like that. She spoiled rotten. What else did she eat besides a lot of carrots? So she eats popcorn. That's her favorite. Oh, popcorn is her big thing. And we figured out you can just put kernels in a paper bag and microwave it. Yeah. And it has zero everything.
That's smart. She loves a chunk of romaine lettuce. Like just the thing that I'm starting to think she eats a lot like I do. Yeah, she loves. She loves. But I will say when she was a baby, we did catch her under the couch with a sour strip under her inner mouth. And it looked like she was sucking on it like a tongue. And ever since if she hears or sees anybody, her vision isn't very good. But when she hears or smells sour candy, you can't get her. You can't get her to go away. Yeah. Otherwise, I'm going to change. I'm going to move the cameras a little bit. OK. I want to see her more. Yeah. That's what I do. I'm about to go get her. Hi. We're going to resuming. I literally was catching her poop so that it wouldn't fall on the floor. OK. There we go. That's smart. Whoa. Well, too much. Whoa. Oh, there we go. Can you see? Yeah, there. Yeah, there's a good shot right there. Yeah.
Oh, there we go. What if I move? Yeah, you move that out of the way and you can really see her. Rose. Rose. She's really sweet. There you go. That's a good angle right there. She's eating carrots. Yes. She's very cute. Well, put her on. You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to be. Look it. Ready? Oh, there you go. There's her. There's her. Where it ends. Oh, she has treats on the side. OK. OK. Well, this is a first for us having a live pig in the studio who has done everything that a pig can do. Eat, eat poop. Yep. Like eat, pray love. Eat, pray, eat poop. Eat. Yeah, pretty good. All right.
She's comfortable now. Yes. So and also, you know, we're giving away fair tickets again. You can text us the word fair and we'll put you in the drawing tomorrow. I'm going to draw for four pairs of tickets. And the Ursula is what? My salon is called piranha. And it is in the valley in the same building as the black diamond. OK. And I'm right across from the window. And so yeah, all right. We have several different stylists and stuff in there. But I own prana itself. And then I work under B. Wells Beauty. And then now pancake the pig is her own brand. So see. So yeah. And how did you get the name pancake? So one of my best friends has a little pug named pumpkin. And when we were chatting names, we started singing about pumpkin pancakes. And we also I also have a bird that I follow online that sings about bacon pancakes. Oh, oh. And I mean, we can't talk about the beward.
Right. No pancakes works. And so and she just seemed to really it clicked and then pumpkin and pancake. And then and then her cousin doggy is named maple. So maple pancakes. Maple. It just works. Yeah. I think pancake is cute. It's a good name for her. So what it what where does she like she have a doggy door or does she just stay outside mostly. So she's potty trained and she's an indoor. She's indoor. So does scratch to go out or well she has potty trained pads. She's got pads and then we also have a litter box with pine in it. And so she's got plenty of options right now. We're currently looking for a home with space so that she can have more room as I will say when I got her, it was a surprise for all of us including myself, but I would never change anything. She's amazing. And so right now we're looking for a space, but she'll still no matter what we find,
she'll still be an indoor pig. Yeah. Yeah. She's definitely a doggy. Yep. She's an indoor pig for sure. Well, and then what about her parents like when when was she like you say 10 months ago she was born, but so I am not sure. So I at my salon, we have a studio and I rent. We've got pause and pose, which is a puppy yoga studio. And so they do yoga with puppies and for two weeks in January, they had pigs. And I can't say anything nice about the lady that brought them, neither can pause and pose. However, I'm thankful that we got her because we were able to give her a life that she wasn't going to have beforehand. I think she was probably taken from her parents too early. When I was with her, she did have kind of an older pig that was kind of there that I think the piglets really kind of viewed as a mom figure for a short period of time.
And then when we got her, we had some things that we had to take care of, you know, with different things that happen with animals when they're around other farm animals. And so we had to get that fixed and get her much acclimated to an indoor life. She's wagging her tail now. Oh, yeah. That's what she wants to chew on Molly's chair. And that's a sign of happiness, right? Yeah, she's basically wagging her tail unless she's sleeping. She's always very happy. When she poops, she briefly stops for a second. It gets straight up and then when she's being a white cow. That's when she gets that famous pig curl in the tail. Yes, that was alarming. Not going to lie. That was unexpected. I like the words you were using. I told you your time. I said, oh, yes. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Yep, thank you for that. Yes, we Melissa did see the beginning. She says, I can't unsee what is happening on YouTube. It's not a good idea, it's not happening here at all. That did happen. That happened live. Oh, it did. Oh, my God.
You're as surprised as we are, honey. Well, this is a great thing for. So again, Tuesday at the fair, you just find the sensory area there. And that's where pancake will be. And then there's some princesses there. I mean, there's a little bit of. Yeah, so there's a lot of like different things that are gonna be happening. They've got free carousel rides for everyone from 11 to three. And that providence is providing that, which is pretty cool. There's also going to be this book in symphony, like I said, and they're gonna have actually instruments on site and like a sensory table for kids to be able to play with those instruments and see how they work. There's also gonna be, like I said, the fairy tale princesses. They're gonna be on site all day, not just the 11 to five. Okay. And then we also have, oh, listen to you. She's trying to get out. And then we have five senses flower truck. Oh, look at her. Oh, that's a great photo there. Five senses flower truck is also coming, which is a big surprise. And they're gonna be doing a variety of hands-on floral experiences.
And they're, I guess they're farmer Jess Jager is gonna be coming. And there's gonna be a playground of all kinds of things with the flowers and they get to make things and all kinds of learn about growing and... There's a lot of arms and crabs that we were talking about and yesterday the director and... She was just saying a lot of different things that are for the sensory sensitive folks. So much. Just other types of things to do. Yeah, it's gonna be great. Well, pancake, you're very sweet. I think you're sweet. I think you're a good girl. Thank you so much. You're a good girl. You're pretty girl. You're a pretty girl. What about you, dude? What do you got? What do you got? Got a carrot over there for me? I have, you have it. Yeah. Here we go. We had breakfast in here earlier. So... Yeah, we tried to get rid of any evidence of any kind of relatives. Well, you know, I firmly believe she wouldn't taste like a restaurant.
She wouldn't taste very good. She wouldn't taste very good. No, no. She'd taste like dirt. She'll be a good pet for a long, long time. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. She... I will say I have seen her mohawk go up once, though, when she was mad. Not mad. I think she was just on guard. Oh. It was meeting her cousin puppy. They're fine. They're great. But yeah, her, it was straight up. And I didn't know how long her mohawk was until I saw that. And tell everyone that the breed again, the... She is what's called a Juliana pig. Juliana. The standard farm pigs get to like a thousand pounds. She is going to get to like 80 to 100, but dad and I kind of think it'll be like 150, maybe. It just kind of depends on how... She only eats the kibble, I guess, is what it's called, and then vegetables. So... And she can have an unlimited amount of vegetables that she can... She can't... Unlimited. And the popcorn. She can have as much popcorn as she wants. So if you watch a movie, you can sit with her.
Uh-huh. Yep. And the sensory kids like to eat the popcorn too. Yeah. It works out for everybody. That's right. Well, for them too for her. Everybody can see pancake Tuesday. Tuesday, September 15th. Yeah. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. And I'm going to have some photographers there that are going to be taking photos also. Okay. You can obviously take your own photos, but my two gals are... That's my chair. You can. Currently battling for a spot in the valley for best photographer right now. So I've got a... Oh! Doodling for me. I like it. I've got story told for... Competition is good. And Lisa Medrol, but photography coming through. Yeah. It's going to be awesome. Wow. It's a happy pig. I like her. It's a happy baby. Oh, don't curl. Don't you dare. Nope. Oh. Is it happening again? No, I think she's done. Yeah. Well, yeah. The nervous poops are out. As are we. Yeah. As are we. Yeah. Well, Brooke is good. Great to meet you. Thank you so much for having us. Thank you so much for having us.
Thank you so much for having us. I know for a group of people, this is a very important thing. So... It's a partner-wise as well. Yeah. It's great. Super good. Thank you for having us so much. Thank you. You guys too. And then most... And then most... That's okay. Well, it gives us a story to tell forever, ever, ever, ever. Yeah. And it's documented on film. Absolutely. I remember... I'll tell the kids, the grandkids. Remember that time pancake put on the radio show. When she was just 10 month old. Mom used to listen to it when she was a kid. Yeah. Now, just think about that. You were a little kid. You were listening to us and you're like, I hope I have a pig that will poop. I absolutely. Man, if mom could see me now. Sometimes dreams do come true. And they do. And Ryan is your brother, right? No, Ryan is my partner, Matt's brother. Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. So, be seated. Ryan's my friend who sold me my car. Yeah, you tell me about it. In the late. In the late. In the late. It's been a small world. Man.
Stay in your hands. Man. Man. All right, thanks, Brooke. Thank you, Pancake. You did a great job for 80% of the time you were in here. For the right of me. Oh, okay. All right. We'll do a break and then we'll come back. We'll get our hot topics in when we return. This is the David Mollie show from the New America studio. Hot topics. Drought to you by Clark's tire and automotive center. Hey, welcome back everybody. This will be a much calmer segment. Last segment we had live pig in the studio and the live pig did everything. Everything. And now, just to, you know, no one can see this, but just outside our window, our studio here, there must be seven or eight people. They're all gathered around from the newsroom. They're all saying hello to Pancake the Pig. And, and curtain back, I just texted our wonderful maintenance guy, Ken, and said, do you have any air freshener?
I wonder if there's any lice all. Already there's a smell of barnyard like that. That is that smell. But then, then Pancake went ahead and did the stuff that the pigs do sometimes, which they swore wouldn't. And it happened. But they were great at brick, basically caught in a poop in her hand. Well, she had a thing. Well, yeah, yeah, but it was like 12 paper. She said, oh, the tail's curling. That's a bad sign. Boy. Anyway, well, we learned a lot through that, didn't we? Yes, we did. Quite something. Let's jump into the hot topics. Celebrating only his 35th birthday. He was just a little kid when he became famous. Hunter Hayes. Remember Hunter Hayes? No. Country singer. Oh, okay. I think it, I think he might have been like 12 when he was really. Yeah. And actually, how did you had charted with a hit at one time? Literally 12. Like actually a kid. I think so. Maybe on YouTube or something.
Somebody will know that. Interesting. Michelle Williams, you like her, right? I do like Michelle Williams. She's 46 today. And Michael Boobley. Everybody likes Michael Boobley. Michael Boobley is 51 and you are right because Michael, you know, you know, you know, Krunner kind of style. Well, there's hard rocker guys that think Michael Boobley is the coolest guy ever. Really? So that's all you need to know. It's like, you know, the music people get music people. Doesn't matter what genre. Well, he's one of those guys that he's kind of cool. He is cool. And he's funny too. Yeah. He's one of those as like, it's like karaoke. Yeah. You know, they're Krunners, but they're also good personalities and stuff. They joke about themselves and they're. I think what's his name, the other woman, the Josh Groban. He's also that way. Like he's super funny. Yeah. And but then they have those. They just happen to have an amazing voice too. There's so much chaos going outside of our studio. So yeah, a lot of photos, a lot of pictures being taken. Yeah. Eric Stone Street.
Uh huh. 55. He's not his camp. He's camp. Yeah, camp from modern family. And he is a huge KC fan. That is 100% true. Uh, he is Jason Sadekis. And I believe it's Paul Rudd and the Fons. I and Fonsy. Yeah. There's a lot of chiefs fans out there. Yeah. And you didn't really know about it until the last probably 10 years. Mm hmm. When the chief started getting good. And it's like, oh, well, no, I'm a chief. I mean, these people that jump on these. Oh, I know. That's crazy. Who in chiefs like to say, yo, dog, you jumped on. You jumped on. You jumped on. Where were you? Actually, they all jumped on when he came on. So that was a big part of it. Now, let me ask you this. When I predicted that KC would win randomly, was Patrick Mahomes already on that? I don't think so. And if he was, he had the perfect situation because they drafted him in the first round. But he didn't play that first year. Okay. And he and they had a quarterback by the name of Alex Smith, who was also a, you know,
a high, high pick super talented guy and a great guy. So Mahomes got to kind of learn and, you know, grow from him and not be thrown to the wolves. Right. Like when you're a rookie quarterback and they just throw you in there, usually you're on a crappy team because they picked you high. And there's a reason why your team is not very good. But he got to sort of, you know, just kind of kind of learn stuff. And then when his first year in the league, you just exploded. Well, because what year, how long ago was that? Because I remember me jokingly saying it and you saying, there's a buzz on that team. That's not that crazy of a pitch. Well, they had Andy, they had Andy Reed. They had the coach and they, they have a pretty good management. So yeah, there are things I like the chiefs. I don't care what anybody says. I like see Hawks elect the chiefs. Chiefs are a fun team. I like the giant. And she likes the giant randomly. I like the giants too. I like their outfits, I like all of it. The chiefs will play on Monday night, first Monday night football game of the year.
Okay. Chiefs and Broncos. Yeah. Well, we call them American Treasure celebrating his 60th birthday today. Adam Sandler. Yeah, we'll give him a merit. Yes. I believe he's a giants fan. I bet he's not going to be a jet fan. Patriots or, you know, I don't know. So that, and then Hugh Gran is 66. Dave Stewart, you know who he is. He's from YouTube. No, he's from the rhythmic. Yes. Yes. They're biggest hits, sweet dreams. Here comes the rain again. Yes. What I lie to you. Just a few. And then we've got to bring it back to football. Take you celebrating his 77th birthday today. Joe Thysman. Yeah. Now, what do you think? What do you know about Joe Thysman? Here's a couple things I know. Oh, she knows she does. She knows. I know that they named in a word after him. But I also know he had the worst break in the history of broken legs on a, probably a Monday night game televised and then they never showed it again.
It was a Monday night game. And I was watching it in my little apartment in Texas. And it was late, you know, because it was, you know, back then they would start Monday night football at nine o'clock at night. I just came in. I think it started eight for us because we were central time. But I stayed up late had to be up early in the morning and I'm watching the game. And then I see the break. And I thought, did I see what I thought I see? And back then, you know, I don't think they were as quick technology as they are. Yeah. Like where, when now if you see something horrific on like an injury, they tell them right away, okay, we're not going to show it, but just, you know, know that it was very bad. Yeah. Well, this they didn't do that. And so people saw the break in slow motion. Oh, man. And you see a guy getting his leg broken. It's pretty, pretty awful. So and he never really, really recovered from that. What is, why are people saying don't tell Molly what happened to Alex Smith's leg?
Same thing. He had a broken leg and his deal was his, they say it was the grass because he had a compound fracture in a game. Yes. So he's, you know, laying on the field took him a while to get the stretch out and everything. Well, they say it was the grass that infected his leg and he almost lost his entire leg. And he almost died. He almost died. He was in the hospital for months and months and months. And now he's on one of the pregame shows. Okay. I'm not sure which one, but he is a, he's a good guy. He's a really good guy. And my home's, Patrick, my home says that if it wasn't for Alex Smith, he wouldn't be where he is. Oh, okay. So there's a whole documentary about the home. I don't know if I want to watch that. Yeah. Oh, God, there's scenes and it's just. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. Anyway, it was Joe Thiesman's birthday. Today is Joe Thiesman's birthday. And he was, I believe he was number seven. And today he is 77.
77. I know. Why do they decided to name a trophy after him? They didn't. It's the Thiesman award. It's the Heisman. It's the Heisman. Wow. And it was done way before Joe Thiesman came. And actually the story is his name was pronounced Thiesman when he was growing up. And then he changed the pronunciation of his name to be Thiesman to rhyme with Heisman. Heisman. But it didn't work. He didn't. He didn't win. And Spokane Washington. So the award is not named after him, but he did have a terrible leg injury. I got that part right. I got that part right. And who did he play for the Calvin? No, no. I played for the Redskins. Now known as the commanders. Don't you dare try to call him another name. He's scared. That's your drunk uncle thing. His name is Bruce. And he's no longer with us, but his work lives on Colonel Sanders.
This would have been Colonel Sanders birthday. He would have been 182. I would have been 100 and a lot. I don't know. Died in 1980. And when he died, he was 90 years old. Oh. Oh, my goodness. Okay. So he's very old, like 150 or something. Did you see what Natasha just wrote? Both of those injuries happened on November 18th. 13 years, 33 years apart. Really? That's what Natasha said. Wow. She's never lied to us before. Both of the most famous broken legs. Yes. Happened on the same day. That's what she's saying November 18th, 33 years apart. Geez. Look at him. Good one, Natasha. If that's true, that's something. He just blew his mind. Trying to recover. Hmm. I wonder if she's seen the documentary. 176 years ago today, did we get it right?
California becomes the 31st state. Oh, yeah. Yeah, we got it right. We need California. Yeah. They got a lot of problems over there. But I wouldn't want to live in California. They got produce. They got all the stuff. They got everything. We keep it coming. Yes. Yes. It's fine. It's fine. 31st state. So there were 19 states that came after California. And what was the first Delaware? Was that the first one? Oh, that's what they say. Yeah. Here, she's sent an image. The dates, both gruesome injuries happened November 18th, 1985, 2018. Both games bizarrely ended 23 to 21 final score. Oh, my gosh. Both quarterback were tackled near the 40 yard line during a sack. The connection, Joe Thiesman was actually in the stadium and witnessed Alex's injury. No, this is getting too crazy. That's what happened. Oh, it's not.
And the fact that they said 23 to 21 was the final in both games. Uh-huh. That's kind of an odd score too. Yeah. What a crazy point. And it was a 40 yard line, both quarterbacks, 40 yard line. Sacsame day. And that Joe Thiesman was there in the stadium. I'm sure Joe Thiesman went to a lot of baseball games. It was a basketball, whenever football. I'm sure it wasn't like, hmm, I don't want to go to one game. And this is it. But it was the chiefs and somebody, right? Alex Smith, I don't think played for the Washington, did he? I don't know when he was injured. He played for the 49ers and he played for the chiefs. But I don't remember who. Uh-huh. Somebody said they were both in Washington against the Giants. Possibly. This is from Chad and Adam Sandler's and Jets fan. Oh. Hmm.
We learned so much on the text line. Yes, we do. Uh, 70 years ago today, Elvis Presley made his first of three appearances on the Ed Sullivan show. He sang three songs. Love me tender, Houndog, and don't be cruel. He's only shot from the waist up so that his gyrating hips were not shown on national television. Because of course, that was in the country and panic. Yeah. Friendsy. All the girls would be hysterical. That night 82.6% of all televisions were watching Elvis Presley on the Ed Sullivan show. That's something. Um, okay, by the way, they playing for Washington, yes, but against Houston. The, uh, the thysman injury was the Giants and the Redskins. And I remember that because it was Lawrence Taylor, who is the premier defensive player of that time,
played for the Giants. And he was the one I think that broke his leg. And, and he was the one that like panicked like he was like, wait, you guys get in here. This is bad. He knew, he knew right away. Uh, but I don't remember who, who Alex Smith was playing against, but if it says Houston, I believe it. Um, and then he was a comeback player of the year. Alex Smith, he came back, you know, he did. Wow. He still play. No. He's a, he's a commentary guy on one of the networks that can't remember which one. Smart guy too. Very smart. I think we, I think he went to Utah and he was like he's smart enough to avoid a compound fracture. Well, I mean, it should have run a little faster there. Alex with the big guys. 61 years ago today, Sandy Kofax pitched a perfect game at Dodger Stadium against the Chicago Cubs. There's your baseball stuff.
And then it was 55 years ago today. 1971. A lot of people thought it was earlier. 1971 was the year that John Lennon released Imagine. Oh. I think that might be one of my favorite of the whole. Post-beal stuff. Yeah. Great song. As you know, 44 years ago today, Rush released their ninth album. Signals. Signals. Which contained. Here the radio. Nope. I don't know. New World Man. New World. I'm a new world man. He's a new world man. And then something called subdivisions. Yes. What do you know about that song? Do I know it? I don't know it. No, you probably wouldn't know it. It runs a little deep. It's about subdivisions. Literally. Like houses. Yes. Oh. Yes. It's a metaphor for like just how the world is being. I think they, it's, but it's literally they're saying subdivisions.
And the new world man. I have to say I hate the beginning of that song. So I used to always switch it. And there was a time where my phone was away from my where I was. So I just let it play. And it's great song. New World Man is a great, it's a great song. I just don't like the big thing. Do you do, do you do, do you do, do you don't like, come on, dude, come on. Too electronic for Rush. Yeah, just a little weird. The hokey. 34 years ago today, 1992 MTV's ninth annual video music award Van Halens right now won the best video. That's great song during the show Elton John sang the one and then later joined guns and roses on stage for November rain. Really. Quite something. Yeah. Yeah. You know, there is a thing popped up and it was a brand of Carlisle things she's talking about her when she sang the joke on the Grammys and how that catapulted her.
And she was saying that when she was a kid, her mom would let her step late because she said she wanted to watch the Grammys to see if Whitney would hit the high note or if Mariah would hit the high note because that was the test of like. Here you are among your peers and she said the moment that I hit all those notes with the rock or with the joke, she said my career catapulted instantly because she gained respect of the whole room. And it was like she said my whole life changed after that. But just that one performance. So it's like Michael Jackson when he did the moonwalk. There are these moments in these shows where it's. When Alan Smore set did the acoustic version for you, I don't know. Yes. I think that opened the Grammys one year and I just thought that's over. She's won the whole thing. And Dixie checks when the Dixie checks did not ready to make nice with all the string. There just moment pink is swimming when she was on the silks doing glitter in the air.
That was one of the show stopper moments. Pretty cool. Not Manquette Unfortunately, late on flowers people歪 MCA when the nasi really really Northeast and he did his thing. Healo Prettava like. Was right now yeah, I do. 22 years ago today memberотmλι Miki from rocky holidays Meredith, you can't Tim. He passed away. He was 88. He had Alzheimer's. I'll knock you from here to tomorrow, Rock. What are we waiting for? They crap you. What is the one? You're going to eat lightning and crap thunder. And then he wanted him to... Speed. Speed is what we need. And if you can chase a chicken, you can get speed or something. That was in Rocky 2. And in Rocky 3, you see that... Well, I was watching that Mr. T thing.
And you see all the members of the montage of Mr. T beating up all these people. And he's in the audience and he's watching and he's keeping Rocky away from... He was concerned, yes. That's right. And you can't beat him, Rock. Kill you. Not in a tomorrow. He's not playing. But before he was in the Rocky movies, he was Penguin on the old Batman show. Like the TV show Batman. Yes. Well, that was the other thing that Mr. T said in the documentary. He goes, I watched Rocky 1 and Rocky 2. And I rooted for Rocky to beat Apollo Creed. He said, And now I got to go beat up Rocky. He said, that was just mind blowing to him. I got to watch that. It's really good. It's 48 minutes. It's so enjoyable. I really enjoy it. I'm all in. The Mr. T documentary. It's called I Pity the Fool. Okay. Come on in. It's sweet. You'll like it. I'll watch it before football tonight. Yeah.
Get me out of ready. And then it was 2002. Friends spin off Joey. The show Joey premiered. I don't know how long that lasted. I don't think it was very long. He's got another show that's been on. It's been on like showtime or HBO or one of those. That lasted a lot longer. It was really funny. He played himself, but as an actor like years later and then his friends trying to get him work and stuff like that. I can't remember all of that, but pretty good. You know, there really weren't many good friends spin offs. And you would think, you know, they had six of them. There were no others. That was the only one. Nothing to do. Nothing to do. Yeah, the show. I don't think so. I think Joey was the only one. I don't think Matthew Perry was in any shape when that ended to be doing. He was in love with something though. He did. He was on that one show that was like a behind the scenes thing or something. Well, that was different.
That was an SNL type thing, but he also took over on a spin. No, no, no, that was that was Charlie Sheen. Charlie Sheen. He was on that show and I absolutely loved it. It was, it was, I think a man to Pete was on it. And it was supposed to be a late night show. And it was that guy who writes all the words. The guy that did West Wing and yeah, that guy. I know what you're talking about. Yeah, let's see. Friends spin off. I think it's just, oh, let's see. Joey. Yeah, he's just. Okay. He moves to New York to La Sian, jealous to prefer. Sir, yeah, it didn't work. Nobody else. Well, Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Pay were doing movies. Yeah. And I don't know what David Schumer. I think he started directing a lot of stuff. I think a lot of them, because they had a hard time breathing because they were buried in money. I was a big, I'm there trying to like,
I can't, there's so much money on me. I can't, we made all this money. I can't. I can't breathe. Remember Lisa Kutrow was in a movie with John. The lucky, it was called Lucky Something. Lucky Numbers. Yes, yes. I think she was still on friends, maybe she was doing that. I'm not sure. Yeah. 19 years ago today, do you remember something called Spygate? Yes. Okay. What is it though? That's when the New England Patriots, this was one of many, at least a few of the cheating scandals involving the New England Patriots. They got caught videotaping the New York Jets coaches signals in their Spygate controversy. This is Spygate scandal. So, and then they had the whole deflate gate thing. They had all these different things. Yeah, the Patriots, people say that, they call them cheaters and everything. So that's why we should all root for Seattle tonight and the opening game. It's for the good of the sport. I think everybody in this area is going to root for,
there's no Patriots fans around here. Oh, there's a few Patriots fans, yeah. Even I know better than that. 2012, 14 years ago today, Ryan Reynolds marries Blake Lively. Very lively. They have four kids together. Hear that? This is it. And then tonight, as we mentioned, this is the 40th season premiere of Sunday Night Football. And it's on Wednesday, but it's on Wednesday. It's crazy that way, but it's been 40 years since, you know, they have Sunday Night Football. It's a very big deal. And now the tradition is, if you win the Super Bowl, you get to host the first game of the following season. Now it's rare that it's a rematch of the Super Bowl. In fact, I don't know that that's ever happened. Could be, could be wrong on that, but, uh,
but it's very exciting. So Seahawks and Patriots, Wednesday night football, kicking off the NFL season. Look at that. Get your picks in everybody. You made all your picks. The lines are coming. The lines are coming. The headlines are coming. Coming, they're coming. If you don't want to watch football tonight, you can watch episode seven of season four of Reacher. That's on Amazon. Or episode six of the new season of Ted Lasso, which I watched last night. Yeah. I don't know why they keep saying it's Wednesday night. I don't know. Sometimes they'll do it at midnight, but they're doing it a whole day early. It's where I was watching it at six something. Yeah, it's where, maybe even earlier than that. And then late night tonight, I think Jimmy Fallon will be pushed back a little bit, but Matthew McConaughey will be on with him. And Mariska Hargate will be on with Kimmel. And that's what we know at this hour. It was studio 60. It was Aaron Sorkin. Yes.
Or Amy, thank you. Oh, everybody's got it. We gotta go. What do you think we do? We think we do all the time. Yeah. It's exactly. It's very sticky. It was quite a day today, don't you think? All right. What's the plan for the day? Well, I thought I was gonna have to go pick up a whole shipment of stuff from our friends at Project Beauty Share, but that's tomorrow. Oh. So now I think my plan is no now settle. I'm gonna go home and I'm gonna take the doggy on a walk. Good. I have to clean up my house. My house is a mess. I gotta do some laundry and stuff like that. And then I'm going to pick up my friend Mary this afternoon and we have a quick meeting, a committee meeting, then we're going to see Ellie Wong. I have to spoke in comedy club, right? Yeah. Yeah. So she asked me about it. I was like, well, this is perfect. It's six o'clock. Our meetings from 4 30 to 5 30. We're right downtown. We'll probably leave you a little early.
She's downtown. So I'll pick her up. It'll be perfect. And Ellie Wong, I believe, is doing two shows. My daughter's going to the later show. Yeah, but it's still like 8 15. It's not super late. I like that six o'clock start when she said, do you want to go? I said, what day of the week is it? Always the first question. So Wednesday, I'm thinking, okay, Wednesdays. And what time? She said six o'clock. Sold. What if she said 8 15? No, not. Non-starred. I'd be on a sleep on the thing while Ellie Wong is trying to be funny. That wouldn't be the best audience for her. Probably not. Oh, not at all. So opening night of football, and you have a player playing in the game tonight, and you will not be watching the game. Look, what am I supposed to do? Not go to a comedy show. There's going to be a lot more games this season. What are you doing Sunday night? Going to a speaking thing. Your giants are playing on Sunday night. I understand that. I will record it.
And where, what avenue is it, though? What sports machine on the Giants? NBC? Sunday night football. We just have a special Wednesday night edition tonight. Don't worry. The speaking easy thing. I'll be home early, I think. It'll be fine. Everything's going to be fine. I will be here. We're going to try and find some lice all to. We're efforting that. For the studio. Because I'll be here for a while, cutting up and editing the program. And as we mentioned earlier, we want you to download as many of the episodes as you can. Or that you'd like to hear. We hear again. Pretty good. So we'll do that. And then I think I too, I'll get the dog out a little bit. Get some outside time in. Because once, and I'm going to, I'm one of those guys at four o'clock when the pre-game starts, I'm there for that. So the game doesn't start until, I think kickoffs at 520. But the coverage starts at four. So I'll be watching. You'll be there. And it's just going to be great to have football back.
I'm happy for you. I'm happy for me. That's the whole night. I'm happy that I got all my picks in. It's a lot to manage every week now. And I believe I have no action. Like I don't, I don't have any players playing tonight. Oh, shoot. I do. I have the kicker in the other league. And I'm not sure if my opponents have sea hawks or Patriots. Oh, I got to check. Oh boy. What kind of fantasy manager am I? I know. I should know all this stuff. Even I'm on top of it more. At a comedy show. Hey, I got to keep, I can't let it rule my life. No, don't let it rule your life. Never, never give in. Always keep you, yeah, stay focused. Play the long game. All right, we got to go. Thanks for being with us everyone. Back tomorrow, Ken will be with us tomorrow. That would be super fun. Have a great day.
