Live from the New America studio and brought to you by Northern Quest Resort in Casino. It's the Dave and Molly show. Hey, look at this. Look at the look what time it is. We're only, we're at 602. Yeah. That's very good for us. That is very good. It is almost impossible for me to crap my pants and be on the air at 602. It doesn't happen. So that's why you know crap free. Oh, free morning. Good morning, spoke Anne. It's a daily crap report. She's in a good mood today. Oh no. Uh oh. Feeling better. And it's Thursday. Thursday always feels good, right? Love Thursday. And our friend Ken is going to be in and the envelopes of Angus return. Oh my gosh. Remember we had it last week in Boyd? We learned a lot. Yes, we did. We learned a very lot from our friend Ken. That's still reeling from some of the information that was given out. Plus we will have the showdown if you want to play and make sure you let us know about that. I think it's going to be okay today. And I think we have a little bit of welcome brain.
Yeah. But here's the good thing. Did you see it clears up for the baseball game tonight? Perfect. And we have Michelle and some of her family and her one of her grandson's. Who's a true baseball player. He's going to throw out the first paper. Hold. He's like 10 or 12. I don't know. She's up. Yeah. Listening. But one of the middle. She's got like 11 grandchildren. She's got like 11 grandchildren. But one of them is like a little league pitch. Yes. And then he gets to throw out the first pitch. Fantastic. We're bringing in the pros now. None of this. Yay, who's stuff. It'll be good. And then, yeah. And I do. I think it's going to be great weather for us. It'll be a little chilly. It'll clear. Well, chilly by our summer standards. I think it's supposed to be like 65 for the first pitch. And then, you know, in the 60 with all the cloud cover, it should be perfect. So. And there are still tickets available for the Spokane Indians game tonight.
It's Dave and Molly night. The last one of the year. In fact, I think it's the last series for the Spokane Indians. They go through Labor Day and then they. And they're done. And it's dollar in your dogs night. Yes. So you go buy a hot dog and then you might find money in it. And I will be buying a hot dog. Oh, I'll be buying a hot dog or two. I might go double. What I'd really like is one and a half. That would be the perfect amount because. And maybe, maybe Ken and I work it out so that we do that. Like we get one that we design separately. Then we design one that is for both of us. You're designing hot dogs. Yeah. I don't. I like a lot of stuff on my hot dogs. What do you put on your hot dog? All of it. Everything they have. Well, they don't have onions there, though. Do they do put onions on your. If I can. I like those raw onions. The movie theater. I like the crank thing. Well, and they have it at the arena and stuff. There's that. I don't know if they have them out the field. Anyway, the crank work cranks all the little onions out.
So mustard and ketchup and relish and onions. They have it. What are you going to put on yours? Mustard relish. But that. I have. I would like to put some jalapenos on it. But that's a. That's a separate. Specialty. Yeah. So. And I don't like the. I like the way the Indians do it where it's the little pump things. I don't like when they just give you the little packets. No. Because then it's just like, well, it's. I want more than one packet, but two is going to leave stuff behind. Then what do you do with the packets? Then you try to put it in the little tray, but then it gets on the outside of the paper that you have. And then all of a sudden you go to wind it up and you got mustard like here. I don't like that. That's. Yeah. I don't want to be packet free. Yeah. Anyway, join us for the Spokane Indians Games tonight. Last one. So it's been a good year. Been a fun season. We love having Dave and Molly Knights. And then we have a very busy day today after the show today. We will be shooting a new America commercial.
And Molly will be wearing that right there. Yes. This is because we're talking about hoodies and all the great things that New America does and will be out on Roo's field. Right. That's red. And I was seeking every time, almost every time we shoot an America commercial, it rains. It could be remember the we're out at the coffee stand. It was raining. We went to the VA homes raining. And that's going to happen again. And but I don't think so. Yeah. It's going to clear up. We find. It's always clear and cheney. Yeah. Always clear. Yes. Oh, I remember one time doing this. It might have been two years ago. Well, no, it couldn't have been two years ago. The year was super hot. Remember? And then the the eagle guy was right behind us. Oh, I remember. Yeah. Oh, yes. I remember. It's a warm one. Yeah. We were in, I believe we were wearing these. But hoodies and. Yeah. I'll be wearing the same thing. Oh, twinsies.
That's cute. Yeah. Just not right now. It's probably good that you didn't wear it to work. Yeah, it would be the eagle. The eagle people. Yeah. Yeah, yesterday finished up here and then headed home. I started watching that show that you were talking about. The after yes. The. Um, no. He's POS, huh? Yes. I haven't watched all of it, but I I don't like where it's going. Well, I got a text from our friend H last night and he was head watched it. And he said, oh my God, that guy. Yes. So he's really. And there's all this new news about him. You know, they do these documentaries. It takes a long time for them to put it together and then put it out. Well, by the time a lot of them come out, there's new stuff that happens and he's got new allegations about with different people and he's just he will end up in jail for a long time. I believe. Oh, yeah. Yeah. He's just horrible and his dad was horrible too.
And then yesterday, you know, the weather kind of cleared up. It was really nice. Yeah. I took a look at the little library, little library that we have right now that there's there's books coming in and going out. It's already open for business. I love it. Yeah. Did she put it on the app? I don't know. Did you tell her about the app? I don't know. I didn't tell her, but she probably knows about it. She sees a lot about my daughter. Yeah. So Brian D watched all three episodes last night. So what's it? What was his take? God's Brian D don't you want to go punch him in throat? I think he needs to be he needs to be taken out and publicly like stone. Take it back to that. I think whenever anybody uses their position, especially with religion and when you with somebody so vulnerable and you saw the girl, all she wanted to do was tell people about Jesus. Like that was her whole thing. She had a good heart and to take. And it matter like when she was like 15 or 16.
And to use your position, especially like that as a doctor, as a pastor, it's just especially horrible or a teacher, you know, just anyway. Yeah. POS. Mm-hmm. So I was getting a few things done. And then even though last night was Wednesday night. Yes. And tonight is Thursday. Yes. And then I went off the board because of the baseball game. There was a special Wednesday win. Why? Wine was staying. And I wasn't, I didn't even know that it was going to happen really. So I had a very sensible salad like around, you know, 2, 30 or 3 o'clock. Yeah. And then more on my TV viewing here in a bit. Yes. And then, but then, then, then the wine had happened. So that was fantastic. So what do you do? Do you just have the wine or do you have a plate of some sort? A very fair question. That's since I already had the sensible salad, usually I have a sensible salad. And then some other, sometimes I'll add something to that like another meal, entree, whatever, two plate Dave.
So they say, but I knew I didn't want salad. So I got the smash burger. Oh, man, it was good. And then I said, because the side was the corn pasta. And I said, actually, I want, the side will be the corn pasta and then could I have just a little extra scoop, like just a little bit more than what the normal would be. So they come out with it and it's like a big pile of it with the burger on one plate and then a whole another plate of it. And it's like, wow, that's awesome. Well, did you take some of it home with you? No. In your belly? Yeah, it's all in me. Yeah. But. Yeah, I would have been like, oh, this is perfect. This is lunch tomorrow. You know, I should make better choices like that. I should have just said, this is going to be enough because actually the plate with the burger on it had the amount that I was thinking it would be. And that was slightly more than what it normally is. And that should have been enough. But it wasn't.
But anyway, that was great. It was wonderful. Sounds good. And then I got home and then I was when I went to Netflix and I forgot that you had mentioned that show. Well, I go to Netflix just to see what's on. Then I see it is the number one thing. I thought, oh, so I start clicking on that. Well, also on there, and it must have been targeting me. They have the entire catalog of the old SCTV, which your boyfriend can, because we used to talk about that show all the time. There was a time and I stand by this, that that show was better than anything that Saturday night live did. I mean, they were so good. So they had the whole library on Netflix now. So I thought, well, I have to just revisit this and relive these moments. I think there were six seasons. And so I started with the first episode of season six, because I thought, well, this will
be the one that I'll remember the most. I didn't remember any of the bits in there. Some of them, it's just Awkward TV. It's what it is. Yeah. We would love it. It's, and it's the old, still hold up. I think so. And some of the references are like, oh, man, they were talking about that in the 80s as well, because this was, I think it was 83 when the last season was out. So I watched two episodes of that, and there are 40 some minutes. Who are the people who are in it? Well, I think the big, the famous cast members were John Candy, Martin Short, Andrea Martin, Joe Flairity, O'Dayf Thomas, Rick Moranis. But I started on season six, and I think some of those people were kind of coming and going because they would introduce everybody. And then they said, oh, and special guest star, this episode is John Candy.
So I think they have left. And then they left and came back. Yeah. I think that's how it is. But after watching the two episodes that I watched, I may go back to the very first, like, episode one, season one, because that's where it all started. I'm trying to think of when I was watching it. I think it was 79 and 80. What, the guy from Shits Creek is, you see? Oh, he's in there too. Yeah, he's in there too. Yep, he's in there. And he, one of my favorite characters when he was the newest guy, Earl Cannonbearer. I loved all that stuff. It's a true parody of television. And it was just perfect for the time. Very, very clever, very creative. And that's all on Netflix now. Is that new? Yeah, the whole, everything. They just released it and it all knew, wow. And then, and I would love somebody to do this. And I think it's in the second episode of season six. If you go in there, there's a Martin Short character, Jackie Roberts, where he's like this,
like aging rock star person. It is almost, I believe that Mike Myers was inspired for him for Austin Powers, because he talks just like him. And he's like, yeah, maybe. And he's doing all this. And it's like, oh my gosh, that looks just like the Austin Parallel. And there's the bad teeth and everything. Oh, he stole it. Yeah, I mean, I would love somebody else to give an opinion on that, because I've never heard that reference to like when Mike Myers would talk about Austin Powers, you know, it's like, yeah, it's the man of mysteries, the British guy and all that kind of stuff. But this Martin Short character is, talks like him and it's got that lot of the same vibe. I'm just googling to see if anything pops up. If I say did Mike Myers steal the Austin Powers character, because if anything, right?
There's a lot of similarities. But I've never heard it talked about, but you should watch it on your own and then just see, because I think he talks just like him. He's got the same kind of, and then there's, you see sort of the genesis of a lot of Martin Short characters. Remember when it was on Saturday and at live when he was, oh, I must say, there's a character where he's doing some of that in there. They make fun of how he manned hell. I guess that was a time when they were, you know, in a fun way. I don't think it was, none of it was mean spirit. It was just very fun. And it could be that Mike Myers came to him and said, hey, I know this inspired me and I'm going to expand this character out and is it okay with you? Maybe there's several Canadian. They're probably not soory about it. Soory. What if they're friends? It seems like if that was a thing where it was stealing and it wasn't okay, you would
have heard about it. Yeah. That's the thing. That's funny. So that will be, that's going to be my backup TV for a while since that's on there. And the cool thing was I must have fallen off of that show by the sixth season because I don't remember anything that I saw on there. And I do remember a lot of their old bits. So when I go to the previous seasons, I may see it and I go, oh, I totally remember this. I never watched that show. I watched. I watched it. And I'm sure I would. I know I've seen little bits and pieces of it, but it just wasn't in my, well, and if it was done by 83, then that definitely I wouldn't have been probably watching it. And even as a kid, I remember watching SNL, but you had to stay up to 1130. And in the early days of SNL, it wasn't as appealing to when you're, I was 10 or 11.
That's not, you don't know what's going on. In living color was one of those things that hit us right at the right time. And that, and Jim Carrey was great in that show and stuff. But I'll have to relive it. I'm sure once my boyfriend hears this episode, he will be on it. Yeah. Because he loved it. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I remember we talked about that a long when it was on live. Yeah. It was like a thing. So that was good. And I went to bed at a very reasonable hour and the alarm was blasting. It woke me up. Then it's go time. Yeah. And here we are for a full day ahead. Yes, yes. Well, yesterday I was feeling a little, I was feeling a little under the weather. So I decided early in the day that I was going to go to my 430 meeting virtually. That was okay. And for a variety of reasons and I'll explain. But for that, go to the casino, he said, you'll be fine, he said, you'll be in your comfort
zone. Remember that? Remember the conversation? I was just trying to make you feel good. And he said, you said, what if you got your magic soup? And I said, yeah. And then you said, then you sat in a comfy chair. Yeah. And then you could just push buttons. Yeah. Well, the first part of that that didn't work out is that I went up to Helkelberries and they had every soup but the magic soup. So I got a combination. Here's the other thing that's weird. So I thought, okay, well, I'll just do their chicken noodle soup. And it's those squirrely, like the screery noodle thing. Oh, yeah. Well, there was no broth in there. And this was 10. It wasn't, I got up there by 10. We cut out. No broth. What do you mean? Meaning the whole that was full of chicken and noodles and it was dry basically. Somebody had like drained out the, when the end, when you're sick, you want the broth. So then I went over to the vegetable soup and I took some of that broth. And then I made a combination. I got a big old thing of it. So it wasn't the magic soup but I did come back and have a bowl of it. And I was back here by 10 after 10. Oh, you were very fast.
Yeah. But when I came back, there was no parking downstairs because it was a busy sales and everybody's in the building. So I went and parked on the street. And then of course later when I went to go to my car, I forgot that I parked on the street. And I was looking around in the garage for a minute thinking where did I put my car. Oh, that's right. It's on the street. But that made me feel better than we had our meeting. Yes, we did. That was the thing. I was trying to think I was like, I didn't go right home. We had the meeting after the show. That's right. Chatting about all the very good. Clients and all that stuff is very nice. And then I had to get gas. I got, I had 10 miles left to drive when I got gas. Because now that I have a thing that tells me. So I was right at the freeway and I was thinking, well, what am I going to do? Go home and nap. I'll go out for just a few minutes. Come feature. Relax, push buttons. And at first it was going well. And it was senior day. And I forgot that our friend Rocky had texted and said, hey, I'm going to be out there for senior day because he has an ill airplane thing for me. And I saw it go by the text line.
And then I didn't, I was thinking there's no way I'm going to be out there. It probably wasn't the best choice. I was sort of just sitting there just going through the, but I always love being there. Just makes me happy. And I think it changed your spirit of the day because you were like, I'm feeling well. I'm kind of sluggish. And then the thought of, there's a casino. Maybe I should go. I could tell that you were, you had a better spirit. Yes. I think it helped get through you through the day. Anytime that I can be there. And it was only there for like an hour, maybe an hour and 10 minutes, but it was busy. So after I leave the gas station, I go around the back way past the RV park and I go in to see if there's a magic spot right out front of the moving theater. And then when I get to that secret spot, there was none of that. When I go to the outside, that's to the north of the place, that was completely full. And so then I go in and the seniors, they're, they're a crazy bunch, those seniors. It was busy. You're in the senior. No, I understand that. I waited in line.
Here's the thing. When you go to the kiosk, now you're dealing with seniors and a kiosk. It's computer and things move slower for the seniors. It's not like a normal day where we're swiping and entering. And there's like five options now. So oh, I want to enter for the million dollars. Oh, and it's senior day drawings. They were doing the drawings. And oh, and I want to do my senior day prize. Oh, and then they have another thing. And so it's like five, it feels like five minutes for each person. So you're waiting at the kiosk and you're thinking, this is gambling time that I'm, anyway, I waited. I got seven dollars of senior money. How'd that turn out? Do you turn that seven dollars into zero? Zero dollars. I had fun though. It was good. So then I had home, grabbed the doggy and head out to the valley. And I, the plan was that our friends Michelle and Tony are coming to get the RV back around six. So I get there. So where are you for the virtual meeting at 430 at Kent House? Oh, okay. So I go out there and I shut it down.
I took an app and he was great. He did. I was supposed to go help him clean out the RV, but the truth is he did it all by himself. He's very, very good to me in that respect. So he took all the stuff out, like all of the personal stuff out. And then he cleaned it, got the dog hair out and he found more glass from the explosion. Oh, from the Sam Adams adventure. Yes, there was more of the little. Oh, as he was vacuuming and sweeping, it's crazy. So, so then I, I sleep until about four, 15, which was great. And I wake up and I pull up the computer and I do the virtual thing, which I felt good about. It would have meant me going to the valley, dropping off the dog, then the two of us driving to downtown at four o'clock, then coming back to the valley because I had to be in the valley. Normally, I wouldn't, and I wasn't feeling great. So worked out very well. And then after that, then they showed up. And then I was very, very hungry and it was determined that he was going to make drunken
noodles. It was so good. It has shrimp in it and it smells so good. Well, you had a lot of noodles yesterday. Yeah, I did. I did have a lot of noodles. And that was so good. I hadn't really eaten very much. So we had that watch our Ted Lasso. We watched the two episodes. So you're all caught up here? Yeah, so good. I love that. And I saw it. What you meant about the references, the Harry Potter references. Yes, yeah. But he was able to make it, make sense with what was he comparing it to? Oh, he had different characters. He was for, remember, he made it work. I liked to make it work. It's a great show. It's a happy show. I love Healey and what's her name, the boss. I love their friendship. I just love that. It's very sweet. And I love, it's just so good. So we caught up on that. And then I think I was asleep by 915 or something. Well, Lauren woke me up. Actually, the rain woke me up. It was weird.
It was dreaming. It was something was like drop, drop, drop. And because it was just barely raining and on Ken's skylight, it was like that. Oh, yeah. Yeah, so. You ate up and made it on time today. And we have a busy day to day, too. I've got a bunch of stuff going on. And the game today. Very excited about the game today. And no pressure. Like you don't even have to. You're not throwing the first pitch out. None of your family members are throwing the first pitch out. I don't have any responsibilities. Last time I had to drive the girls all the way home, then drive to drunk guys home. This time probably just one drunk guy and just one stop. So that'll be easier. I'm the uber. I am going to have half of a half of a light beer, though, with my hot dog. I like the, and I really only want the first half. Although it'll be cooler today. So it'll stay cold. Yeah. I think having the taste of it with the hot dog. I may have some wine.
We found the secret wine spot. There's another wine area that's like pretty good. Which one of our listeners had told us about it. Yes. The last one. That's right. So. And I think this will be the last, well, I know it's the last day of the Molly night. Spoken and he's pretty sure this will be our last Indians game of the year. Yeah. Yeah. So fun season. So we have that. Checking in on checking in on our thing and you see the phrase, he is an evil, vile person. Was she had just left him? Don't say that about Dave. But no, it's the guy on that thing. Oh. And then. Yeah. And Jen says one of our many Jen says I can't believe that how the other people in the church were listening to all of his crap, the preacher guy back to that. All of his sermons were about women making sure that they pleased their men in the bed.
Not all of them, but a lot of them. That was the topping. And you know, he's wrestling with his demons. And so he's just throwing it out to the congregate like it's not my fault. I cheated. You got you women, you wives, you better be better at this. You're four times a day is normal. What? No comment. No comment. Yeah, I don't. I like the documentaries about that kind of stuff because I don't. When they were showing the dates, I think the reason why I didn't remember it was well, it was the summer that we were fired. Yeah, we were. So I was, I was sort of out of sync with keeping up on things. Yeah. Because that story was all brand new to me. I didn't know anything about it. Me too. Same. That was the same. I. And it's a, it's well done. Yeah, it is. I didn't see the whole thing, but I saw enough to. Yes. Yeah. We hope everybody comes out to the baseball games tonight. Yeah.
Come on out and say hi. Yeah, we'll be there. We'll be there with bells on. I'm going to wear a bell anyway. And we'll have beforehand, we will be out. We have a few trinkets to give away. Not much. We're sorry. Everything must go though, right? Everything must, we have a bunch of Bob's, your uncle stickers. We have a couple of, we have a couple of Dave and Molly magnets. That doesn't get you out to the ballpark. Nothing will. Well, well. And also our sign up sheet is up, you guys. Hey, do you have acts? Can you see all the people that have signed up? I don't think I can see that. I think that's a, I know Nadine signed up and she said that because it was only, it was with John, John was our first person that signed up yesterday. Yeah. And this is for our walk to Northern Quest. Mm-hmm. It's going to take place on September 23rd. We're walking from here to Northern Quest on our feet, walking.
Yes, Steve. All the way. We're at Steve. Walking. I'll tell you. Well, yeah, it is. Oh, my card is, I got to get rid of some of the stuff in my card. I think I ordered too many things. I'm going to sign up. It's free, absolutely free to sign up. And you can buy T-shirts if you want to. No, I don't want that. And I don't want, I'm going to sign up and see how it goes. Did you sign up for the medal? You're going to get a medal? You've got to get a medal. No, I'm just, I'm just right now. I'm just, I always like to have a medal. I know. I'm just going to have a medal to prove that I've done things. Anyway, Natasha and Lisa will be there. Oh, that must be for the baseball game. Oh, permits you with a pass key. I don't even know what to do. Oh, there it is. All right. So anyway, you got to sign up. And that way we'll know how many people are going to be there so we can properly plan.
And we do, we are going to get a hold of the people at Brick West and tell them we're coming. We're efforting that as well. Okay. See, there we go. I am signed up. I like it. Does it say how many people are signed up or just that you were signed up? No, it just says that I'm signed up. I wonder how many, we'll have to talk to our friends at Raymond. See? Yeah. What the sign up looks like? Yeah. Might just be three people. Nadine will probably walk it twice just because it won't be enough of the walk for her. And she'll wear like a big, heavy pack and then carry one of her dogs. And then go do a handstand when she gets there. Because then she used to run up Doomsday Hill and come back and get you. Yes. Sometimes she'd run it twice in the time that I would take me to walk it. To navigate it. I do have really nice shoes. I'm that was my biggest concern. I know I'll be sore and I know it'll be a lot of walking for one day, but my biggest concern was the feet. That was going to be miserable.
But now with my new shoes. She's got new shoes. Yeah. New shoes. All right. Well, Natasha and Lisa come say hi to us at the game. Yeah. And Michelle will be there with the kids. They'll be hanging out. That'll be fun. That's probably pretty exciting for her grants and you get to throw the, you know. Well, first, first ceremonial first pitch. Mm-hmm. Uh, fantasy, yes, fantasy football teams Trevor, I sent you a link. I sent all of the people a link and you guys should all have it now. And our draft is tomorrow at 530. Yes. Uh, and we are going to, we need to, we need to draw for draft order. We've got to figure out a, well, we have to do it before we do the draft. Right. Oh, yeah. So hopefully Trevor, I have it right here that I sent it to you and I sent it to Thad and I sent it to Melissa. And then April, I offered to share a team because we weren't hearing back from people in the
right time. Anyway, we had to make some decisions. But April, if you're listening, you and I can be teammates. Well, how to team together. Yeah. Yeah. It'll be fun. It's already, I already named it the what was your plan team. And the logo is a guy with a big mustache. You get it. So that's the, the name of the league. What is the name of your team? That's the name of my team. Oh, what's the name of the league? The Iron Sharpen's iron. Oh, that's right. That's right. Yes. Iron Sharpen's iron and then your team is what was your plan? Right. My, my team name is the kitty cats. The kitty cats. Because they have nine lives. And then did we, are we just, is this a free league? We haven't charged you anything, right? Okay. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Wait, you got to play for something. I guess you just play for the title of me. A medal. A medal is perfect. There'll be a medal at the end of it. Yes, there will be.
Fantasy champion. Yes. Yeah. 12 teams. Uh-huh. One winner. Yes. So it's two leagues for me. Plus the survivor league. Plus the pick-um league. Yeah, I'm in a survivor league and a pick-um league too. Look at that. She's all in for a football. Yeah. And I, I do have my Eagles shirt today. He says he signed up and he wants me to look at the team names though. Okay. We'll do, Trevor. We'll do. All right. Let's see. We'll get all this worked out. We are approaching the Labor Day weekend. And there are people, some people that were caught off guard. They forgot that there was a Labor Day weekend. And then we will pose the question, no Googling. If you don't know, that's okay. You're not alone. But what is the true reason we celebrate Labor Day? What are we celebrating? Why is there a Labor Day holiday? We'll give you the shocking report on what America says. Mm-hmm.
Got it right here. Should we, or should we not, change the calendar from 12 months to five months and all five months would be the exact same number of days. No. No? No. That's happening. That's pushing through Congress. No. This is something they've all agreed on. We're all changing. No. No. It's just a theory. But it makes a little more sense because there's, every month is a different number of days. Well, can't we all come to Canada just all be more uniformed? That's the theory. Doesn't mean it's right. And then you've been asking the most popular music in every state. Oh, yes. Finally have it. Okay. Good. I was waiting on that. What do you think Washington is? What kind of music do we like in Washington? We like reggae. Okay. We'll see what the question is. I think we like Dave Matthews. Dave Matthews found. I don't know. Dave Matthews number one. And they brought when they came to get the mini.
First of all, sorry, Jen. Yes, I'm sending the link. Yes, you made the cut. Absolutely. That was my bad. I'll send the link as soon as we go to commercial break. When they came to get the mini, when he asked to add insult to entry, they had 20s wearing a Dave Matthew shirt. And I said, what people? Why do you not see how setting this is for me? I'm sending my favorite thing with you. To be subject to the Dave Matthews crowd. And now you're going to wear a shirt. You can disrespect me. My driveway. You're taking my mini, Winnie. Why do you have to do that to me? Disrespect. But Dave Matthews. It's very upsetting. Oh, no. I don't think Tony listens to Michelle does. So you tell your husband. You tell your husband. And they said, oh, we're going to bring back some stickers for you, Ken. Oh. His Ken likes Dave Matthews. He said, I don't like all the bad things you say about Dave Matthews. And I said, well, too bad.
And you're saying it without having ever been to a Dave Matthews crowd. That's exactly correct. And you had the same situation with Radiohead. You hated Radiohead. Radiohead, Radiohead. Oh, the mockery and all the sharp criticism toward Radiohead. And then one day, he said, hey, I heard a radio. I like Radiohead. So we know that it can change. It can change like that. I know I don't like Dave Matthews music. I know that for sure. But you've never seen the concert. I've never been to the concert. Different. Totally different. Yes. I'm letting them take, it's like a child. It's like letting them take a child and subject them. Letting them take it. What else can I do? Maybe they'll send you some photos. Well, they had one year it was a bottle of Dave Matthews wine that they left in there. I've had to bat Dave Matthews decent. It's good. And then bracelets.
And then a magnet. Don't sell it. Leave it be. I want to pretend it never happened. I was excited for them though. We were talking about, oh, Tony is listening. And it was a good looking shirt too. It looked like, I mean, it was long sleeve, a nice color. And it looked, it looked like, wow, that's a nice, wait a minute says Dave Matthews all over it. You got sucked into the shirt. Yes. They were talking about how they were going to put their awnings together, how they park. And it just sounded so fun. So they're going to be out in the field. They have different parking so, and we said we're going to, you're going to need the heater this year. Usually we send the fans with the water into this year. It'll be the fire pit. But it just sounded so fun. And I know for them, it's like when I'm heading to Brandy, I know how fun it'll be. So I'm very happy for them. She said he wears a Dave Matthews Ben shirt almost every day. How's that work out for you?
Hey, you had a live with them. No, it's good. I love those guys. They're super days. You saw them when we were at my art cell. Remember, we were all eating snacks together around the table. We broke bread with Dave Matthews Ben people. She says the many loves Dave Matthews Ben. The many doesn't, the many does what it's told. It doesn't happen. Everything is fine. Everything is great. We can mean Dave Matthews at the Gorge. It's just the thing. It always has been a thing. It always will be a thing. It's a thing. It's a way, yes. Good for that. All right. So we'll have the news of the day here in a bit. We also have some entertainment news, including the greatest villains on TV and film. We had some of the video on the day this morning with Collide. That was good. And then Ken Hopkins will be in today. And the envelopes of English. That and more as we continue. This is the David Mollyshow from the New America studio.
We now return to the Dave and Mollyshow. Hey, welcome back everybody. David Mollyshow continues Thursday, hard charging into the Labor Day weekend. And we are working tomorrow. Yes, we are. You said it. Yeah. Okay. Everything is fine. But then we thought about the people and we thought, well, let's do it for the people. If not for them, for them for who? Now do you know what Labor Day we in Labor Day means? It means that we get to barbecue pork bristles and hang out with our family and miss work. That is the number one response. No, it's for the labor movement, I believe. Labor movement? Yes. 18% wrongly believe that it's meant to commemorate the founding of labor unions. All right. 9% thought it was the official start of fall. Okay. 6% believe it was meant to celebrate the signing of the U.S. Constitution and 4% of people
think it honors the end of World War II. Those are all the wrong ones. Okay. What's the right one? Now, the correct response is Labor Day is a salute to the contributions and achievements of the American worker. Ah. So it's just a day off that you get to have because you're a worker. Exactly. That's nice. People love the idea of a three-day weekend. Sure. Hell, do. Listen to this. 64% a high majority of people agree that every weekend should be three days long. Yep. And 38% strongly agree with that. So let's do it. When did we decide? I know there was a decision made at some point that a five-day work day at week was appropriate and that 40 hours was the right amount of work time. Well, I propose that four days of work is plenty and that 32 hours of work is plenty.
Not five-tens. No, no, no. Four-eighths. Just the way the good Lord meant it. That's why I am now going to be the work's are. I am putting my hat, the ring for work's are. I, if that's your platform, I'm supporting you for what are like who decided? I know somebody decided and I know before that was Mayham. It was just that you had to work all the time. Yeah, it's great. You never had any time off. But this whole eight-hour day, not that we've dealt with that, but I would make an argument for the case that out of work we are constantly sort of working, collecting thoughts and things and we're always kind of, and we do stuff outside of here. I remember there was in the David Letterman days back when he had just moved over to CBS. So he was the biggest thing in late night at the time. But his whole deal was they had to have three days off.
They just had to. They just had to make it work. So what they did was they would shoot two episodes on Thursday. Yeah. So it was a longer, longer day and then they would have, you know, they have Friday, Saturday and Sunday and that would be that he thought that was for entertainment purposes that work. Well, for the network, they had to have a show on every night of the week. Sure. So that just meant doing more on one of the days. And it was the day that you knew if you got through that day, then you had three days off. I think it's brilliant. I don't know if we could pull that off, but. Yeah, it's a little harder in real time. I think if you're a syndicated show or you're just doing sort of evergreen generic things, we're having interviews and stuff, you can do it. But I think it can backfire when some major event happens. And you're not up on it because you are, you already filmed it. The game shows, that's the best schedule in the world. I think you've been in a day and I think sometimes what they'll do is they'll work like four
weeks in a row and they'll just bank up a ton of them and then they're off for months or weeks. I think with Jeopardy, they would do, they would do five episodes in a day. Yeah. I mean, it was a full. Yeah, that's what, well, that's what they used to do with match game. That's why by Friday, the shows were, yeah, it was like drunk shows because they were doing it all the same day and letting them have drinks and so they progressively got worse and worse. I know when I did the weakest link. Yes, they had already filmed one or maybe two and then they were filming ours and then they had more to do. So that's, that would be the way to do it. If you've never seen any of the old match game, it's match game, Saturday 4, match game, Saturday 5. I think we went into the, maybe even the early 80s, but what you said is correct and there's been stuff written about it. It was classic television. Game show television where they would, they'd have all these, you know, be list celebrities.
They were the panel and the deal was if you be on the panel, we'll pay you of course, but then you also get free drinks the whole time. And so by the time the fifth episode was being shot, they were all buzzed and that's just, including the host, Gene Rayburn. Yeah. I mean, he was a, he was a tank machine. He would just get tanked all the time. It was the instigator. They, they, Joe and Worley's and the Super sales of that JP Morgan, people like that on. Yeah. Richard Dawson, he was a, he was a panel, panelist guy. Yeah. That was fun. That was for guys good television. He's a race home from school and watching and even I knew as a kid. It's like, yeah, there are Friday shows are great. There was so much fun. They had ash trays. Yeah. Is that the one where he had the long? Yes. Long skinny microphone. Skinny microphone. Yeah. Pretty good. Betty White was on that one too. I think sometimes. Yep. And they would have, you know, if they won the one, the one their episode, they won $500.
You could never get away with that today. No. All right. Now, here's a question. It's popping up on social media. There's some chatter about it. Should we change the calendar from 12 months to five? And if we did that, all five months would be the same length. Yeah, but they'd be what? 50 days? 48 days? They would be 73 days each. 73 days each. No, thank you. Okay. I like changing the calendar. I like getting into a new month. I really do. There's, we're heading into the final four months of the year. And it's 30 days, 31 days, 30 days, 31 days. Right. That's all crazy. Well, there's a, there's a post on social media getting a lot of traction. So the, the idea is, since we have 365 days, should they be divided, be divided into five equal months of 73 days, we would call it, January, April,
Joggest, Saktobr, and Nacember. No. How about no? How about no? No. That's too many weeks in the same situation. Nothing makes me happier than changing over that new calendar with a fresh, all the fresh little squares ready for me to fill in with things. And it saved us yesterday, didn't it, my little calendar? It did with upstairs. But I had that in my head, like I, you knew about your September 14th being off thing, right? And I think that's why when they asked for an interview that day, we said, well, we can do it the 15th. And that's what I remembered too. And then I thought, oh, no, but I pulled out my trusty calendar. And I said, this is the 15th and we pointed it. And then on for the review, we were right. So we're off on the 14th. We're off on the 14th. And we have an interview, a very important interview on the 15th. Yep. Everything worked out fine.
It was great. Great. Yes. So I like the calendar. I like, yeah. What if you were to do 13 months? Hear me out. 13 months of 28 days each. That gives you 364 days. And then New Year's day is the special break day. So what's the 13 month going to be called? Well, we can make, we can name it whatever we want. Why can't we just leave it the way it is? No, got to change. Everything has to change. It just really seems like. I like the way the cards, because it's with 364, that's the number of cards, like all the, like a, like a, uh, deck of playing cards, that all adds up to 364. And then the Joker makes 365. It's the perfect calendar. It's a way that the four suits are the four seasons. Ah. The 13, uh, different, you know, you got Ace, King, Queen, all the way down.
That's 13. Those are 13 weeks, 13 weeks in the four seasons. It's all, it's all very cards are very, you know, symmetric. Yeah. And then you have the Joker in there, and that's your exercise. There's two jokers in the pack. Well, the, you have no one ever uses two jokers. They don't. Certain games. What game? Well, the kids, we have games where the jokers are coming to play. Two jokers? Yeah. What kind of games? BS, I can't say the name of it. There's a couple, there's a couple of games that, that Alex knows about that we use them, because they're special, you need them in there as special things. And I was a kid to break me into poker gently. Jokers and one eye jacks were wild. And that's the way my dad indoctrinated me. It was like, and he taught me how to play five card. And I only wanted to play five card draw, not stud, because I liked lots of options. And the wild cards, he said, well, God, this is a bunch of burrow. They're there.
Did you ever play baseball? Night baseball. Yeah, whereas I think it was threes. Yes. Threes, sixes and ninees are wild. And then if you had, yeah, it's like, all those old poker games are fun. They taught me blackjack. And then five card draw, then five card stud, then seven card stud. And then night baseball and one other. So by the time I was six, I was sitting at the table gambling with my dad and my grandpa. The way the good Lord men had played. It was early on that they got me. And I would do crazy things like hit on an 18 and they'd get all mad at me. And then of course, I would get a three. Well, God never, I suppose you're going to get, somebody's going to pull a gun on you if you're in Vegas doing that. It's like, I am six. You think I'm thinking about a gun in Vegas right now. They don't ever do that with anybody else. You'll get in love trouble. Oh, the gambling.
So anyway, in conclusion, you want the calendar to remain the same? Yeah, because also somebody mentioned birthdays, it would mess up. It would mess up birthdays. If you were, what would mine be? Now Iowa was in May, it would be Maytober. What is it? Your birthday would be hang on. We probably have the same month now. Yeah, yeah, because we're pretty close. We're only two weeks apart. And it would scrape all the sides. It would probably be, it would probably be joggist, because it's not going to be February. No, it's going to be joggist. That's June through August. Yeah. What about, no, but where's May then? No. Oh, it could be Maple. You could, your birthday could, so five, 73, well, your birthday's not in the first 73 days. It would be in the second 73 days. I now don't even get, I don't want to be in joggist.
I refuse. I want my birthday, Maple. I wanted to stay on the same. Maple. Maple. What are the other ones? Soctober and December. Somebody's just messing with us. I like the idea of thinking though. This isn't correct, but let's, let's work with it a little bit. Change it up. All right. I do know, for some people, it's hard, but for me, maybe for you this same way, but like I always know how many days are in the month. There are still some people that say no is, September is that, is that 30 or 31? No, it's like for some people they don't. 30 days has something, something, something, and something. Plus, that's exactly how it is. I had a young person ask me what number October was.
By young person, I mean 25 year old. I said, how do you mean what number is, well, what number month is over? I said, 10. Okay. But here's the thing though, that was all kind of screwed up because in the old days, the very old days, there was no July and there was no August. July and August was the, you know, in current days, right now, every single body over 15, let's say, should know January, February, March, April, they should know the orders of the month and they should know what number goes. Correct. But the thing was October was originally the eighth month. That's why it's oct. Yes. So it sounds weird, yes, it does. And then December was used to be 10 because it decked. And then when they added the two months and they're kind of threw everything off. Yeah. But in current times. In current times, yes. And when you hear somebody that age asks that question, you fear for the whole future of our nation and you wonder what's going to happen.
It's all going to crumble. If you don't know the basics of that, October is one of my favorite months. October is a great month. But September, October for, for Spokane, USA, pretty good months. I never liked September when I was going to school, but now I don't mind it. It's a long month. It can be, it can be hot and gross, but I think this is going to be a beautiful September. It's already starting out beautiful. We got some much needed rain. That's been good. All right. This is a question for guys. There are guys that are resisting dieting because they think it's only for women. Oh, interesting. Yeah. Researchers held focus groups with men who had an interest in losing weight, but one theme kept coming up over and over again. A lot of them saw dieting as something associated more with women. These same men frequently talked about being unhappy with their own appearance and they were motivated to lose weight because of how they looked.
But they didn't like the word dieting. So what did they say? Fitness program? Maybe. Yeah. That's good. You had the extreme. I forgot. Yours was the extreme. Oh, it was a long time ago. Yeah. Clearly. A long time ago. But it was extreme. And you released one, one of your secret things each week. That's right. One of them was eggs. That's right. Over the other one. It was a good program. It was good. And it worked. It worked for me. Yeah, it did. And to do that again. Oh, how I need to do that again. The weird thing is for guys, appearance is a stronger motivator than health concerns. Really? Yeah. Now researchers are suggesting weight loss programs aimed at men may be more effective if they were framed around goals and challenges rather than the word dieting. That makes sense. Sure. I think most women don't like that either. Yeah. Dieting is not a... It's not a happy word.
Yeah. And any more when you see people, because a lot of people are using the shot and losing weight. And you say, well, you look great. And then you say, now are you, this is on purpose? Because sometimes you don't know. Sometimes people lose weight because they're not feeling well or whatever. And then you skirt around, so what do you do and what's your program? And then some people will say, I'm just cutting back on things and other ones are like, I'm on the shot. Yeah. They don't care. To me, there's no stigma anymore. It's like, good for you. Get the shot. Why not? Why wouldn't we? Why not? Get the shot. Yeah. If it's there and the doctor gives it to you, get the shot. People like the shot. Get the shot. I need a shot for you. They're probably have something like that. I certainly do. That's my weakness. That's one where I can forego all this stuff, like, especially food.
I can cut back and do whatever. That's not a problem. But when I get the feeling that I'm not going to be able to be at the casino anytime soon, like when I look out a week and I'm thinking, oh my god, where am I going to fit it in? Because it's my relaxation. Yeah. And a comfy chair. And a comfy chair as you. You were peddling yesterday. Peddling. And you were also saying, go win a lot of money. No, you need a lot of money. Big of a big go if you did. Yes, it would be. Now, people have always wanted to know the most popular music genre in their state. All right. Okay. They did a search and to determine the most popular music genre, the most searched genre in the, in all of the, was pop music. That's number one in 13 states, including the great state of Washington. Yeah. California's pop state, we're a pop state Oregon. Punk.
Punk. They like their punk music there. Really? Um, pop states are us, California, Texas, Arizona, Michigan. I think we got it right. Then there's the metal people. Yeah. That's Montana. Oh, hi, oh. I believe in. Maybe, maybe could be the metal states are Montana, Alaska, Oklahoma, Maine, Maine's a metal state. They like metal. And then you got your soul music. A lot of those are Southern states, North and South Carolina, Tennessee. Let's look at the map. And then we'll get to the most search artist in each of the genres. Oh, that may surprise you. Okay. Uh, let's see. We got country music in North and South Dakota, also in Kentucky. Um, pop music in Texas, metal in New Mexico. What was, what was the state you were asking about?
Ohio. Ohio, a metal, they are a metal state. Very good. How'd you know that? Cleveland rocks. Oh, that's how it just assumed. What about New York? You'll never get New York. Jazz. Um, um, but about Americana, anybody searching Americana. Ooh, Americana. That seems like a, that seems like a kind of Washington work and Wyoming thing, but what about Utah? What's Utah? Utah, Utah loves pop. There are pop music states. Okay. A lot of pop and most of the pop is, uh, is West. Pop music. It's pop, it's called pop music because it's popular music. So you would think it would be number one. Popular everywhere. So who is the most searched artist in the pop music format? Taylor Swift. Absolutely right. Now I'll give you $100. Oh, okay. If you can identify who is the most searched for artist or band in the metal category, metal
category, $100. Metallica. No. Hmm. No. Hmm. I don't know. I'll raise it to $500. Uh, I don't even know any metal bands. Uh, 90 ensnails. Something called sleep token. Oh, yeah. Can I have a, you know, spoke and we're sleep token. We don't have any. I've never heard of sleep. No. I haven't heard of it either. We love your city. It's so welcoming. Sweet token. Let's see. Let's see. Well, I'm going to get a look at. Oh, I don't know. I don't know that you're going to like what you see. Why? Well, I don't know. I'm just guessing it's probably. Let's just see if it comes. It's in metal group, but I've never heard of them. They probably don't have kits. Token. They're probably just a thrash metal. Let's see. Sleep token members or members of the vessel is the name of the lead singer. Hmm. The lead singer's name, vessel.
Sleep token consists of two core anonymous members, vessel. And then it's like the Roman number two along with live touring musicians who perform in masks and robes to hide their real identities. So we don't even know, no wonder. And then the numbers, it's like number Roman, numeral three is the basis. And numeral four is the guitarist and aspera, a trio of backing vocalists. Now they give you page, Matilda and Lizzy who join them during live shows. So those girls, but the rest of them, you don't get to see. Yeah. Has anyone ever heard of sleep token? And they're English. Well, I told you. They're an anonymous English rock band formed in London in 2016. They've released four studio albums, two EPs and a standalone song in multiple covers.
Vessel and two. That's hilarious. Sleep token. I've never heard them on Saturday night live. Sleep token. Ladies and gentlemen, sleep token. And then it would just be guys coming out and robes. And then they know you can't see the face. And they just. Consistive for me, members known as Vessel and two live. They're joined by touring musicians, basis three guitarist four and a trio backing vocalist thing. The members have never revealed their real names or identities on stage. They can see themselves with masks, long robes and black body paint. So they could be somebody who's already known and they're just hiding. Kind of like Sia, we've never seen Sia's face. You know, this is the most searched for in each genre. It makes sense. People are probably searching for it because they're probably looking because they have no identity. That makes sense. Yeah, they're going what the hell is this? They scam the system.
So that's the most searched for in the metal genre. Now for soul, it's Leon Thomas. Another name I don't know. I don't know that person either. For country, Morgan Wallen makes sense. Michelle said at least Dave Matthew shows his face. See? That's pretty good. Sleep token. Sleep token. Those spoken you'll never see. We always sleep token. Number two, play your bass. There's three on the guitar and five on drums. Ah! That's silly. Here's the rhyme I was looking for. 30 days, half September, April, June and November. All the rest have 31 except February alone.
And that has 28 days clear, 29 in each leap year. Very clenched. Oh, yeah. You can remember that. Well, the 30 days, half September, April, June and November. That one is the one I remember. It used to be like a finger thing. It was like January, February, March, April, May. Oh no, I did it wrong. Oh, it starts here. Yeah. January, January is 31 February, March has 31. Yep. Right? Yep. April has 31. May has 31. June has 31. Yeah. July has 31. And you stay on that one. Then August has 31. Yep. Then you go back. Then where are we? August, September has 30. Yeah. 30 October 31. November 31. November 31. December 31. Oh my. The finger thing works. You just have to know that you have to double up on the pinky. Sorry. Helen's a sleeptaker. Doken is a great band. Helen, you're British. You're just being British.
And her favorite band, I believe, is Metallica. So she's a metal. She's a metal person. All right, Helen. No. But I'm happy that someone has heard of them. Yes. Because I have not heard of them. All right. Who has a sleeptoken album? Yeah. It's a mystery too. In today's world that you could really stay anonymous. That's pretty amazing. So we took. Kiss kind of did that for a while. I mean, you saw without their makeup. I think you probably, if you saw them, you probably, they could get away without their high heels on and their makeup. And blood oozing out of Gene Simmons mouth. That was a big deal when we were kids. There were posters. Sleeptoken, that's a funny name. It is funny. We do have entertainment news. We'll get to that here in just a bit. Did you hear the news about Tiger Woods? No, what happened with him now?
So he had, he was basically his like sentencing bang for his situation. Well, one of the things is, and it's a very, very question. What? He's not supposed to operate any sort of moving vehicle. Uh-oh. Which would include. Uh-oh. A golf cart. He's not supposed to operate any moving vehicle. That was one of the things that came. And then they had the, uh, the attorney out there answering questions. And the attorney will play the audio. But the guy is like, you know, that's a good question. That's a very good question. I don't know. That's a good question. I'm going to, I'm going to, I'm going to tell you what I'm going to do. I'm going to find out the answer to that question. It's just kind of a funny exchange. Uh-oh. And then we will, uh, present to you the greatest movie and TV villains of all time. And I know that you've been asking about this. The cast for dancing with the stars. Oh, wait a second. Now, I'm going to give you all, I'll give you all the names. And I think maybe you've heard of two of them. No, no, no, no. Do you know what? I've heard of one. I saw, so I saw the thing on social media.
And it's no spoiler alert because I can't even remember what the names I saw. There was one person. Maybe, maybe they were two. So they keep showing them and they're dancing out there. And I'm like, is this a joke? Are these the professionals? Like, who, who the hell are these people? And I even out loud asked, can I say, oh, can I say they, they have hit rock bottom with this show? It's bad. Yeah, it's pretty bad. And I feel bad for the real celebrities. Like there's one who's legit, one or two. And then they're going, wait a minute. You said, dancing with the stars. And this is these are the stars. Well, and then back in the old days or when the show, I mean, they had legitimate celebrities on there. They was kind of like, okay, well, let's see how they're going. I don't know, maybe they just run out of people that are willing to do that. It's a big commitment. Yes. And I think if you're a celebrity who's doing anything with your life, you don't have that kind of time to put into that. You're doing your own stuff.
And it is a big commitment. It's not like being on a game show or something. It's weeks of learning to dance and it can be humiliating and the better you are, the longer commitment you're into it for. Anyway, so those are a couple of things that we'll get to with the entertainment news here in just a bit. Don't forget, we got the big baseball game tonight. Spoken Indians, it's the last day of in Molly night. We hope that you will come out. I think the first pitch is at 735 or 635. And the weather looks fine. You can look it on in your own app. We're not lying. We're not trying to hype it just because it's our night. You'll be fine. No weather issues. Yes. And we have a representative of the show throwing out the first pitch. Michelle's one of Michelle's many grandchildren. And that happens at like 615, right? Yeah. Something like that. Maybe 620. Yeah. So we'll all be there. So we'll look forward to that. So if you don't have plans for tonight, come on out. It'll be fun. All right, back after a break.
This is the David Mollie show from the New America studio. Entertainment news. Brought to you by Golden Rule Break. All right, let's jump right into our entertainment news. We're going to start with Tiger Woods. Okay. Tiger Woods. Stay with me on this. Tiger Woods has been banned from driving for five years. Driving at all because it is drunk driving things. Yes. All right. He was hit with $1,500 in fines and banned from driving for five years. Now the question is, does this include golf carts? Hmm. Does it? Yes. What? The judge did not mention golf carts specifically. However, he said there are no exceptions. If you were to drive for any reason, you would immediately go back to jail. Wow. So what's he been doing this whole time in between?
Has he been able to do whatever he wants in between the sentencing? I don't even know the answers to that. Here is the dramatic question. I thought it was a good reporter's question. Yeah. Well, does this mean golf carts? And even the attorney didn't know. Listen to this. Hang on. Okay. Coming up, sounds like this. There we go. And so I have the evening drive done in golf cart. Oh my God. That's a great question. Actually, you, yeah, I think you could, can you drive a golf? You know what? You got me. We'll have to look into that. I'll get back to you. I know you cannot drive a golf cart while I'm paired on the roads because it is a vehicle. But I don't, my gut reaction is going to be no. But great question. And I'll get back to you. That's Tiger Woods attorney. That's the attorney. Yeah. Tiger. Honey. You have a lot of money. Now, there are, there's, there's, it's a very complicated deal.
But because he's in a private community, they say he might be able to drive a golf cart in that. Okay. So that's why it's very complicated. Oh. That's why he's got to get back to us. You got me. Oh boy. Yeah, you got me. If I'm Tiger and I hear that press conference, I'm thinking, oh my God, I look like a joke. That's, you got to do better. You know, there was no, there was no alcohol in his system. What was he? It was just it was the, you know, pills like a pain pill. You know, he's got back surgery, and all kinds of stuff. That was when he flipped his car, right? That was the, the second crash. Yeah, the one where he's on like his street and all the sudden his cars flipped over. It's like, how did you do that even? Are you going around something? I don't know. The other one that the first one he wasn't impaired, right? That was just an, he was on the way to the golf course. I thought that one he wasn't in.
I, they might have been. That was a bad one. He's Tiger. Yeah. I know with the Martin County Sheriff's Office in Florida says he absolutely can drive a golf cart if the golf course is in a private community. Okay. But at a different jurisdictions have different rules and laws about driving golf carts on public roads. It could be different in different places. And you know, they'll be watching too. Yeah. They'll be keeping track. You know, a friend's broken bill, they've got this fancy super fancy golf cart. And it's, and it's road ready. Like it's, it's got mirrors on the side. I think it can go like 40 miles an hour. What? Yes. And it's, and it's got four, it's a four-seater. Oh my God. How fun. It's a beast, man. It's awesome. But I think they, they make some of these now there where they can go on real roads. I mean, you can't take it on the freeway, but you can.
Right. And on my neighborhood all the time, that's the perfect thing because you can drive it right down. Right. And the thing that makes me nervous is that it'll be grandparents with the grandkids and they're driving through our streets and it just makes me nervous. The ones that are northern quests, they have a definite, you could only go so fast. A governor on them. Oh, for sure. But they're the four seaters and they have the seat belts and everything. And that's fun. So they have a trailer that they haul it with when they go to courses. No, they just have, they just drive across the street. Oh, they don't take it to other courses. They haven't. Oh, right. But now that they live so close, that's, yeah. We had thought we, well, in previous administrations, there was a lot of golfing. A lot of our previous marriages. Yes. And there was a thought of getting a golf cart because we were right in the neighborhood. Yeah. But then it was the thought was that he liked to play it so many different courses that it meant a trailer and all of that. And so it just didn't. And I've seen guys that are, that have their own cart.
Yeah. But the logistics involved, it's a bit, you know, you're taking up two spaces. You have a place to park and all that kind of stuff. And you still pay like a trail fee. And I think the trail fee is like $12 or something. Just to bring your own car. Yes. And when you're splitting a cart with somebody, it's 20, maybe it's 22. Yeah. And so it's, I don't know. Yeah, especially because then sometimes you like to walk anyway. So. I know in the Liberty Lake community, like that's a thing, like even if you're not a golfer, everybody has a golf cart. Yeah. And just they zip around, they go to neighbor's houses and that's just the lifestyle there. Fun. I think it's great. Well, the ones out at the casino, those are game changers because that's a long walk. They have the shuttles, which are great from the RV park over. But then you have to call and wait and stuff with the golf cart. That thing's better than a Friday afternoon, heading over to the casino, my pocket full of money.
And so you have you, you obviously have to go as a key. You just keep the key with so no one can take it. Yeah. You have to park right outside of that. They have all these spots there. And what I realized is that I think it says you have to turn there and then you're supposed to park, but we did a big loop in the parking lot. And I realized I don't think that it shuts off kind of like at the, you know, at the resort. It will show up. Oh, yeah. Yes. It has barriers. So your golf cart won't even go places. I don't know that they have that, but it's frowned upon to go any closer to they have their parking there. Yeah. Super fun. We had the other night, I, I, after John Malaney, you know, the traffic is crazy. And Ken drove home and we didn't have our headlights on and, and there's those roundabouts. It's like, why didn't you have your headlights on? Well, I don't, we couldn't find them. I don't know. There was a like a little thing and we, but we were, I believe it was slightly dangerous,
but I left it in his hands and we made it. And we sat at the campground watching all the cars leave. Yeah. And that was beautiful. I think it was, it was a, uh, Fourth of July. Yeah. It was a great day out there for the show and everything. And out the window, uh, we, we could, you could see the stream of cars, even, you know, long after the spectacle of the fireworks in the drone show was over. But that, that a big night there. Well, the one, there was one year and it was a last minute. I called last minute. We had no plans for the fourth. It was before you were doing, I don't think you were out there doing the announcement. Oh, yes, you were. Yes, you were. I was surprised for me. That's right. So, um, last minute I called the RV park and asked if they had a spot and they'd had a cancellation and it was, it was like a hundred dollars. It wasn't a lot. So we get a spot out there, uh, took Alex went, saw you. I brought a credit card or something up and I got a gift card and then we did all the
kids stuff. You went to kids' quest. We went out to the thing, watch the fireworks from the RV. Shut the window. Shut the blinds. Got in bed, went to sleep. Perfect. Greatest thing ever. Yeah. And I know that there was, that was, oh my god, that was something about that cheating. It's a, it's like when you're at the gorge and you stay and you watch the line of bars and you're sitting in your RV, all happy and out. The gorge is a, you know, we've talked about it, but the gorge, the in and out of that thing is. It's awful. And I think it's more difficult for the people on our side. The east side. Yeah. Then it is, I guess if you're, if you're standing in one notch or something like that, Moses Lake is probably the best. But even, but, but it's still, you know, it's an hour or so to Moses Lake from the gorge. And that's not counting. That's just, if you're on the freeway going at that point, it takes 45 minutes. It can take up to an hour just to get out of the parking lot at the gorge.
That's why I leave before the encore, even with Rush, I left before the encore, even with the Ross Smith, I left before the encore. The, the, well, and this is a good thing for Michelle and Tony to know when you go into the gorge now, security is way different than it used to be. They go through your RV and they don't try to even try to bring a gun or a knife or whatever. Although I did notice. So they're going with the dog. They sniff and we're in line for a while. And then I open my drawer and I've always butchered nice in there. Like because you have an RV, you have all your cooking utensils. They didn't say there are no knives allowed, but I have steak knives and, you know, carving knives and those are making their way into the campground. So anyway, that's all. Now, dancing with the stars, dancing with the stars is in its 35th season.
It'll be on the 15th. Here are the stars. And I believe you made the finger quotes correctly of dancing with the stars, Julia Styles. Oh, she is a, she's legit. That's the one that was legit. Okay. Jenna doing no idea. She is a dancer. Well, that doesn't seem fair. Doesn't seem fair. A lot of people are upset about that. Yeah. Tatiana Oli. That one of the Ali, uh, fresh, fresh, fresh prints of Bel Air. Uh, she might be. Oh, okay. I know who she's. And then Taylor Hansen. From the Hansen, from Hansen. Okay. All right. Then we get into all the people that I don't know. That's security. Figure skating Olympic gold medalist, gold medalist. So that's legit. Amber Glen. Have you heard of Amber Glen? Not. How about Ezra Fresh?
No. Franch. DJ. Uh, uh, uh, Para Olympic gold medalist. Okay. How about Connor Wood? Connor Wood is a podcaster and comedian. Okay. How about Sarah Jane Nader from the reality series Love Thy Nader? How about Tyler Cameron? The Bachelorette from season 15. Uh, oh, the chef. Uh, how do you say it? Geata? Geata DeLorrentus? I don't know. I think I've heard of her. Isn't that the, I think she just goes by her one name. I don't know. Uh, Guillermo from Jimmy, Jimmy Kimmel show. Okay. I saw that one. Yes. Uh, Sierra Miller from Summer House. Oh, and they have somebody from the Savannah Bananas.
That's an Olsen. Okay. That's kind of cool. All right. Um, Whitney Leavitt's husband, Connor Leavitt from the secret wives, secret lives of Mormon wives. So it's not the person that's on the show. It's the husband of the person that's on the show. I guess Jenna DeWon was married to Channing Tatum. Okay. I don't know. Anyway, I know that the numbers for the Dancing with Stars, as you might expect, have not been good. They had a couple of seasons where they, it wasn't even on regular television. Yeah. I think it, you know, it's, I think they're, they're trying to bring it back. I don't know. Jenna DeWon, she's, um, other name is Tatum. Spouse, they divorced in 2019. Did you hear that, Emily?
She is engaged to Steve Cazee. She is by definition an actress and dancer. How is that fair? She was a backup dancer for Jenna Jackson, Christina, Aguilera, Pink and Missy Elliott. She was also in the movie Step Up, which makes sense because that was Channing Tatum. And she hosted the World of Dance, come dance with me. These are all dance related things. That, the whole point is that you're not supposed to be an actual dancer. I always thought it was unfair when they would have, like, gymnasts on because I think, you know, it's skaters. Yeah, skaters, another one, figure skaters. Yeah. Basketball players fare the worst. There's never been a good basket. They're just too tall and likey. Football players do well. Some of them do very well. I think Emmett Smith won it one year, right? Mm-hmm. And there was another football player who won it, I think, or who did it extremely well.
Well, in the world of something and nothing. We both agree. And Jenna is in the rookie. So she's legit. You mean the rookie that was not the show you were watching the days of the fire, wasn't that playing the day after the fire, wasn't the rookie on one of the stations? Yes. Oh, there's a rerun of the rookie. Natasha, Jenny DeWon was married to Tatum. They got divorced. Did you hear that, David Molley? You're adorable, Natasha. Ah, adorable. Now, don't you want to know the greatest movie in TV villains of all time? Yes, of course. From entertainment weekly, they're supposed to know entertainment. They claim that the greatest movie villain of all time is Hannibal Lecter. I think it's hard to disagree with that one. You talk about being scared. I mean, that guy, that's evil, all right. Yes, he's evil. Then they have the Joker from Batman. Then they have the person you're not supposed to say the name from Harry Potter.
Harry Potter is the character of the V, but no one ever says that. Don't I mean it, then she'll not be mentioned. Okay. Knowing this studio. See, I don't know. I don't know enough about it. But, and Collide didn't either. Collide just said it. Well, speaking of things that can't be mentioned, I left so hard at Ted Lasso last night when he was whistling backstage. So the two things you're not supposed to do is whistle backstage. All right. And you're not supposed to mention McBath backstage. I have done this, and I have watched 20 people spit on the ground and turn around three times. Because apparently that's what you're supposed to do to get wore off the bad, but backstage and the reason you're not supposed to whistle, do you know the reason? No. So originally in the theater, the way they would talk to each other about curtains and stuff like that was whistling. So that was the, if they whistled a certain way, they dropped this sandbag so that this curtain would come up or whatever. So it was very important that the only whistling that was happening was to each other backstage. Okay. Then that'll change, but it's still back. Did you whistle the wrong way? You get a sandbag on the head.
Okay. So there's that. And then the McBath thing, I can't, I don't know how that all started, but it is definitely like bad form. And I remember the first year I was doing summer theater as backstage and I said, oh my guy, I said, when I was in junior high, we had to go to a Shakespeare's festival. And I was one of the witches I make bath. I said it right backstage. And I mean, they all just spitting on things and spinning around and trying to get the bad vibes away. So what is everybody doing that I never knew that you weren't supposed to say that? I see. I don't. And so that's why when Ted Lasso, he's backstage and not only does he whistle, then he mentions that. Like those things should not supposed to do Mr. Lasso. And the V word from Harry Potter. Who else is on the villainess? Scar from the Lion King. Mm-hmm. Good one. And you have Patrick Bateman from American Psycho. Okay. They kind of even it out because they got, you know, there's animated people.
There's funny ones. There's real serious ones. Dr. Evil from Austin Powers. Pretty standard stuff. Is it Magneto from X-Men? Yeah. Magneto is bad. Very bad. Annie Wilkes. Do you remember who Annie Wilkes is? Yes. Dirty Bird, hobbling. Yeah. Misery. She's a villain, all right. And then Cruella de Ville. I would make a very strong case for no country for old men, the Harvey R. Bardem character sugar. He was pure evil. Oh my gosh. He didn't make this list. Maybe, maybe no people know it. And then from the world of television, start with an animated Mr. Burns. Mr. Burns. Release the Hounds. From the Simpsons. King Jaffrey? Yes. Game of Thrones?
Yes. I played the Game of Thrones thing yesterday. The slot machine? The slot machine. Yeah. It's pretty cool. It's cool. What are you talking about? Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun. And it has Jaffrey and it has all the people in Kaleesi and the little guy and all the people. And then, but I didn't, nothing good happened. I was just playing 80 cents. What? Yeah, I wouldn't know what what you're trying to go. They will. When you hit the jackpot, what does it look like? So there's three games, but there's also where if you get six, I believe of the dollar things at locks and then you play the lock game where more of them can come up. But neither of those things happened for me. It's sometimes randomly the dragon. So just go crazy. And then you know something good's going to happen. Nothing good happened yesterday. Not on that mission. Olivia soprano from the sopranos. The mom. Ken would know that, I guess. She's the mom. Okay. Yeah. The Trinity killer who played by John Lithco from Dexter.
You were a Dexter person. There are so many mean evil people from Dexter, but yeah, that was a good season. And then Ben from Lost. No Star Wars people on here. Where's Darth Vader? There's Darth Vader. No Darth Vader, but you do have Doctor Evil. Hmm. I freaking later beams. Sharks with freaking lasers. Scotty do. Can I have a hug? Scotty don't. You're the Diet Coke of Evil. Just one. Just not evil enough. I'm not evil enough. I'm not evil enough. Austin powers and Doctor Evil. Those are good days. I would like a total Doctor Evil movie. They are bringing it back, right? I know they did a commercial, but. There's a new one coming out. They're supposed to be.
They're making it all happen. You say that. No, we talked about. It's a thing for sure. There will be a fourth Austin Powers movie. It's going to happen. Is that you just wanting it to happen? Nope. It's happening. I'm going to look up Austin Powers for. And then real quick, Lionel Richie is back home and recovering. Oh, good. That is good. That is good. Here Austin powers for release date. Oh, they have a release date. Oh, see this is going to be known. There's no official release date. And confirmation. Mike Myers gave it direct. Yes, when asked if the fourth movie would have happened during an appearance on the Trevor Noah thing. Production is moving forward. No schedule and site. It says it's happening, but I don't know.
And they say that that's too long for us to wait. It didn't. It's not happening in 2026. No. Oh, maybe next year. We'll be there for it. Oh, my God. Yes, we will. We bet. All right, let's do a break here. When we return, oh, we need somewhere to play the showdown. And then we'll also have Ken coming in to kick off the eight o'clock hour. Later in the show, we'll have the showdown. We'll chat with Ken a little bit. And then we'll have the envelopes of anguish. We had it last year. It made it try and fit return to the program last week. So it went very well. So we're going to do it again. That would be good. I'll observe a few of the things that we'll get to. Thanks for being with us, everyone. This is the David Mollie show from the New America studio. It's time for Dave's cast showdown. Time for you to throw down. Winning in a minute and a ten. Dave comes in and answers in again.
If your score's inferior, the Dave will reign superior. It's time to play around. Dave's cast showdown. Oh yeah, showdown time. And look who's here. It's our friend Ken. He's not playing the showdown. But you're going to be here for it, said showdown. I always like to be the router on the side for the caller and or for Dave. And then you secretly to yourself think, oh, I got this many of those. I know these things. Well, yeah, I'm more more interested in the money question, but you know, we'll get to that. Hey, have you heard the whole show today? I've heard a good part of it. Okay, because she has a show question. I know. Okay. And I will say this that I ran these questions by my Ken last night. And he rated this mid to high had hard asser. Okay, so how many do you get right? Five, four. But I only gave him nine.
Okay. So. Right, because there wasn't a show question. Right. Yeah. Exactly. So I'm going to go to the phone with us right now. Hello, Scott. Hello, good morning, Dave Kim and Molly. Yeah. All of us together. Are you watching this or just listening to us? Well, let's hope and listen to you because I'm driving. Oh, that's good. Yeah. Very good. Yeah. Okay. But very soon, and we can't really talk about this too much, but very soon, people that have like the little screens on their car, they'll, they can pipe in our show immediately and watch the show while you're driving up on it. It'll be up on your windshield. Wow. Yeah. Big reflection. Mm-hmm. Hey. Be fine. I'm going to be fine for your for your first drive. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Might not have many more after that. Right. All right. Well, Scott, have you heard the whole show? Most of it, I, I slept in just a touch today.
So I probably missed the first 20 minutes. And you know, we started. We were, we were almost on time today. We were at 602. Which was about 20 minutes earlier than we started yesterday. Oh. Yeah. The show question will come from the seven o'clock hour. Oh, good. So everybody has a chance. Good. And I was paying more attention in the seven o'clock hour than I was when, you know, when we were first yakken when we got here. Wow. She's so glad. You got it. Oh, yeah. All right. All right. I'm going to leave the studio. Molly has the questions. Ken will be monitoring. Good luck, Scott. All right, Scott. Good luck, Dave. Are you on the plaque for either of the years? Unfortunately not. I think over the years, I think maybe a big day once, but there's, there's other checks and the other columns unfortunately. Oh, well, still trying to get the W. Yeah. Okay. Scott, well, with that said, are you ready to throw down on the showdown?
Well, we're going to have to throw down some special. Here we go. Who occupied the center square on the game show, the Hollywood squares from 1998 to 2002? Oh, boy. I know right now it's too very more, but. Oh, shadow steedings, Stevens. All right. What is the international radio code word for the letter V? V. Victor. All right. What are the three colors on the German flag? Oh, boy. Um, red, green, and blue, I'm not sure. In what country was the first coin operated slot machine invented? Was that Molly's house? I mean, I love the country. So in the US, we'll take that as your answer. What New York Yankee was nicknamed Mr. October?
That'd be ready. What company produced the brownie camera? The brownie camera? Yeah. Uh, which three countries as many as you can name make up Scandinavia? Um, Timbuk 2, Timbuk 3 and Timbuk 4. Okay. What does the distinctive marking on a black widow spider's abdomen look like? Red hour and a half. What eye color is the most common worldwide? Blue. And let's show a question today. How old did Molly say she was when her dad and grandpa were teaching her poker games? That would be six. Very good. Nice. And that's why I am. It's funny. It's funny.
Yeah. If my grandpa were alive today and he, well, first of all, he would want me to play cards. Not he didn't. I don't think he ever did slot machines, but he would, he would be proud at my love of gambling. And he wouldn't believe it that we have casinos right in our backyard. What it morphed into. Yeah. He would drive from Palm Springs or LA to Vegas. That was his thing. But I think, I think both of my grandparents would be, both of my grandpa's would be proud of my gambling. Oh, Anyway, Absolutely. Oh, sure. Okay. Davis back. We won't say anything. And Tango Scott. I think you guys were talking when I called. I think it would be a little bit mid-assering. Mid-ass hard-ass. Okay. Was I, I didn't even ask if there was a money question. Yeah, you didn't. What is there? Oh, sure. Oh, sure. It's once Scott didn't get.
All right. Which one? Number three. The third question. Okay. Third question. And then did he get the show question? He did. Okay. All right. Here we go. Who occupied the center square on the game show the Hollywood squares from 1998 to 2002? Uh, well, I remember the old school, Paul Lin, but I don't know that. What is the international radio code word for the letter V? Victor. What's your vector, Victor? Here's your money question. What are the three colors of the German flag? White, green, and red. No. And what country was the first coin-operated slot machine invented? What country? China. What? New York Yankee was nicknamed Mr. October. Reggie Jackson. What company produced the Brownie camera?
Uh, Brownie Hawkeye. Yeah. Codec. Uh, as a land. Codec land. Okay. Yeah. Uh, name as many as you can, which three countries make up Scandinavia? Uh, Finland, Iceland, and Denmark. What does the distinctive marking on a black widow spider spider's abdomen look like? Hourglass. What eye color is the most common worldwide? Brown. And from today's show, how did Molly say she was when her dad and grandpa were teaching her to gamble? Five. Boom. She's adding them up special. Don't move. Oh, this is it. I don't know. I got to go to Ken on this one. It could be a cliffhanger. I think what we're going to do is we're going to call it a five-five tie.
Even though you did name one of the countries of the three from Scandinavia. So it could be five and a third. Uh, five and a third then. And then five and a third to five because he's the 10-but-two, 10-but-three, and 10-but-four. Right. Or is it wrong? Probably not, right. Those were wrong. Um, is it more the Denmark Norway and... Oh, yes. Oh, yes. Oh, okay. It was not the right. Oh, okay. No way in Sweden. All right. Those are the three. We'll call it a five-five tie. All right. Let's see. Let's go to the text line. Oops. And see if anybody German flag or whatever. What be Goldberg? Natasha got it. It was what be Goldberg. Oh, there she is. For those four years. Hey, just on your side, Dave Paul Lind was the only thing I got to say. That's what I was. I couldn't think of the 80s update. I don't remember. I mean, I knew it was a show, but I don't know if anybody's trying.
I think what's his name? This one's for the troops. I think he was it for a while too. Oh, yeah. Louis Armstrong. Louis Anderson. Who Louis Armstrong? Louis Anderson. And then Scott was saying right now it's Drew Barrymore. I almost said Drew Barrymore. For some reason that was in my head. Yeah. That would make sense. Yeah. They rebooted it. Nate Burleson and the stars is the host and it's. I don't know. Drew's okay. I think she drank every time she's on there, but she doesn't drink. Drew doesn't drink. Drew Barrymore. Famously not. Really? Yeah. She's been sober for a long time. Oh, she was drinking when she was a kid. No, I know. That's the whole thing. There was a whole thing she was on a flight and there was a flight attendant. She was crying in the galley. And then she stopped drinking. But she talks about that a lot. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Quitter. She was just, come on Drew. Drop off the bank, Mike. Drew's where we can never been kissed by that. Well, I think she was drunk when she married. What's his name? Hey, that was one of your, we were talking about you the other night.
That was one of your crushes. Remember you like Drew Barrymore? Love drugs. And then Jenny Finch who has a birthday today. You loved her. Remember how much you loved her? Softball pitcher and an Olympic gold medalist for the United States of America. Hey, I got a very specific and thorough. I thought it was red, white and green for Germany as well. It is red, black and gold. Oh, sorry. Well, you got one of them. Where we are. And then Scott said that this slot machine was invented on my basement. And then he upgraded it to the United States. It's the United States. We invented the coin on the club. Really? Yes. Molly and Bernie Barber shoes. He both got Reggie Jackson, then Dave got Kodak. Neither of you got the three for Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Hourglass for the black widow spider. Very good. Dave got brown for the most common eye color. And then Scott correctly identified the age was six.
Hey, I even caught that. I thought it was five. I think you said five. I said six. I was talking the tape. I remember at the very end of the story, she said, hey, come on, I'm six. And I thought that resonated with me as I was driving on my commute. I thought, you're here. She's, why did I hear five? I have to say five in the brain. I was very confident with my five. Do you where you said boom afterwards? I said, do you want to relax that boom? I know. I would take that boom back. I felt bad because the only car games I knew were I did learn? 21 or blackjack and other than that, it was war. That's how we spent war. That's about it. Yeah, we played crazy eights. Crazy eights was a big one and then gin later, but, but mostly congratulations from our friends at New America Credit Union, Proud and Sponsor of Dave's cash show day. New America Credit Union, they were invented in the same country where coin operated slot
machines were. Not a lot of people know this, but right here in America, New America, God is wonderful start. Whether your eye color is brown, blue, green or, or, or evil. Or that is a list. No matter what, no matter what color your eyes are, New America Credit Union should be your credit union. And five three cups of Dutch love rose. Okay, Dutch bros. Dutch bros. Hey, Dutch bros. Have you seen the new food at Dutch bros, Ken? I was the jet. Remember last week I said I ordered the egg and bacon or sausage. Yeah, that was good stuff. Yeah, they have the sliders that, egg and bacon, egg and sausage, and then they have what's the thing that I have? Tereso. Tereso. Oh, it's around. Tereso sausage, you think. That's fantastic. That's good. That's my favorite is the dough. Yeah, they do. Yeah. The three of the sausage things. Do you think it's too spicy for me? It's got some spice to it. I think you can handle it.
That's good. I want to try the waffle. Next time I go through, I'm going to get a waffle thing and a slider. It's like dessert. Very nice. Yes. There you go. Speaking of dessert, we need to have an update. After we say goodbye to Scott. Scott, do you want me to text you the picture of the card? Yes, please. Okay, I will. I will do that. I can get some more food there. Yes. You can. I'll do that. That's good. Um, to say good afternoon. Thank you so much. Take a good look. I can't thank you because I have a video to share with you. I haven't But I want you to enjoy. We're going to have an episode what I今日. We've been using iteman. Sorry, but we're going through the shops. You know, thank you. Talking about just flying over the deck, In fact, we had a podcast of these. my trivia questions, Don, I'm like, oh, well, I'm done for the week now. Don for the week, yeah. Let's talk just quickly about, how many over or under three scoops, how many scoops of
ice cream did you have at Christie's party the other day? And that was a wonderful party. I had three. Three? The very first one was just a scoop, because I didn't know the protocol. And then I waited forever, because you know, I'm pretty noticeable if I get back in line. And that's how I went through, and they were like pushing it on me. So I got it up, and I went for a double. So you had three total. Oh, I started with salted caramel. Yeah, I did too. That is deadly. But the second one you had, that looked so good. It was chocolate cake batter. It was chocolate cake. I went all chocolate. That almost did me over. Yeah. Chocolate cake batter is what it was. That looked good. You know, it's fun. Just spinning off of that. Right when I arrived, Dave came out, and I thought Dave was surprised.
Like, oh my gosh, I forgot you guys were coming. This is so great. But no, you knew we were coming. He said, oh my God, I'm glad you're here. I'm the only guy. Oh, there's a lot of women in there. And then he goes, a lot of estrogen. That's right. That's exactly it. At the time, there were 18 women and me. Oh my God. And I thought we got there relatively early. You were there before we were there for sure. And it filled in my goodness. I saw the group picture, and I just, I loved it. Sweet. That was when Triss said, hey, Christie's having a get together. It's on her birthday, and it's at the scoop. And I said, well, you had me at birthday in scoop. And I forget you guys have a long drive. That's a long drive. He had to come into town. I keep forgetting. A pleasurable drive. And now did you eat dinner afterwards? Or because we ended up having some sushi from Huckleberries. And it was fine that night, but I do believe the next day
there were repercussions. I think it took me down hard. Right. We did. It was kind of weird, because we did, we stopped at the Rosehawks and Suncrust and went to the Deli. Yeah. Which many people do. Yeah. And we just got the sandwich like a club sandwich, but ate it way later because it's like, what we started with dessert. And the boy did we. Yeah. And that scoop ice cream. I mean, they're, you know, they've won a million awards and all that kind of stuff. But there is a level of ice cream that is better, and it's them. Oh, they just, it just is. No doubt. No doubt. Well, that's good stuff. Seeing and recing a lot of Christie's friends from old to young and one of her gal friends who I've recognized right off the bat, but it's been a long time Cassie was her name. And I had just come out with my, with my double chocolate.
Yes. And she certainly listens to the program. Because she said, well, gosh, Ken, I would have expected you to come out with vanilla. Yeah. And then the other thing she noticed is she goes, I really like those glasses that your wife commanded you to wear. I said, you are a forever friend. Oh, I'm pretty good. You know, she said, no, are you sitting on your junk right now? I don't know. Not. A lot of heat on the, on the stories from last week. That's good stuff. I'm radiating the cherry. I'm radiating that up. Yeah. You know, I'm going to put it in guy language. Yes. Yes. You made it accessible for all. I did. Hey, right off the bat today is a huge day. Oh, what? I heard Taylor Hanson was on dancing with you. Yes. Twenty year people. Of course, I've listened to the program. I've heard Taylor Hanson.
And then, I get her mixed up with Kirsten Dunst. Oh, Julian Stiles. Julian Stiles. Oh, yeah. Like her. But then there's quite an uncle of a producer. Yes. And if you're joining a style and you sign up, you're thinking, okay, great. And then you start hearing the other names. You're like, what? And then what's even worse is if you lose to them. Yes. And she's going to lose to one of them, probably. I would think so, yeah. Um. And that is what the 30th season of. I don't know. Oh, it takes care. Well, what's her name? Rect it. She wrecked that whole thing when she took it over. What's her name? Oh, uh, uh, Taylor Banks. Yes. And what? She's not there anymore. No, no. Now it's, uh, is it Huff? It's Julian Huff and, uh, the guy from Fresh Prince. I don't know. They're the host now. And then, uh, Tarrant Andrews was on there for a while. I thought that was a decent, but. It was good. Her with Tom Burgess. They were great. Uh, uh, and they've got rid of both of them.
And Tyra Banks took over and she destroyed the show. Sorry, she did. That was the beginning of the end. They never should have gotten rid of him. Well, that it was almost more of that. Yeah. He just kind of disappeared. She had, but she ruined it. Um, so one day I think it was on our old show years ago. Ken said that he liked that bomb song. song and then we said, you love Hanson. Yeah, I know. No, I didn't. Never. It went from, well, this is a pretty good pop song to you. You're at law with Taylor and Angus or whoever's in there. And then David, I was saying now, which he doesn't, which is your favorite can, but you always have a name for us. Yeah, I got tagged. Not in a eating cat. I know. But who is your other crush? You had the, well, I'm Thomas. Well, no, but for girls, like, like, there was, there was another girl. I've always been a Charlize Theron fan. Okay. That's that you have mentioned her before. It was drip very more. There was another, no, it was another cute, uh, quirky.
Yeah. Yeah. It's like, oh, you liked Kristen Chenoweth, right? Oh, yeah. Didn't you like her? You had a thing for her? Yeah, she's a theater person. Yes, she is way more than TV, but I, I fell in love with her on that. What was that pick not pick offensive? What was that? Picking daisies. Yeah. Fresh and daisies. I'm something daisies. I like that. Yeah, pushing daisies. And my favorite part of it was where she worked. It was a pie shop, but it was called the pie hole. Yes. And I thought that was an interesting name. Let's go to the pie hole. To the pie hole. And doesn't your friends say shut your pie hole? No, she's no very well. So tell me to shut my word hole. Oh, yeah. You shut your word hole. I was like the, the variations always like shut your cake hole. Yeah. It's like that. That's weird. Hey, Molly speaking to TV shows. Yes. It was last night. This is fresh sat down and we've had long days unpacking and all that was.
I said, well, let's watch TV. So I go to the guide. And then I asked Trisha rhetorical question. Uh huh. But she laughed at it immediately. And I said, Hey, Trish, should we just somehow start the 50th season of survivor? And she, wow, no, you're not going to jump in. We've missed 42 seasons. Come on. I can't believe what they all stand alone, right? They do. I think it's season 51 last season was season 50. It won't start until, oh, you know what? The late September, they're, they're ramping up with last season is what they are. Oh, you need to jump back and can. Well, Trish, Trish laughed at me. She laughed at me. So what did you end up watching? Did you watch anything? Oh my gosh. I just went through the channels and David ended up on like alien 12 or something.
No. And it was brutal. Why? What do you mean? I know it just, it was like from a thesis. Oh, yes. Yeah. From that. Yeah. Yeah. But it just looks so good in movie. Yeah. And after a while, Trish, she was on her phone. She looked up and she goes, say, oh, what's this? And then, and then something just came flying out of this dude's back. And you know, there's a lot of becoming out of the body. Because of the popularity of the first one. Oh. But if you, there you've got to see thinking, get him off the spaceship. And oh, we thought that guy was good, but he's a robot. You've summed it all up. I grew into all of the alien movies. I'm sorry. Sorry. You guys were going over through the villains. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Livia soprano. Yes. Yeah.
That was Tony soprano's mother. Yeah. She was the mom. And she was the worst one of the lot, huh? Boy, little alert. Um, she put out a hit on her own son. Oh, sometimes she got to can't. And that happened early. That happened early. And yeah, he had to keep an eye on her after that. She was a cranky old man. Just kept getting nasty. And she died in the show. She, she did. Yeah, but she did. Like cancer. She didn't die by gang hoodlumness. Right. And then they did do the fly back thing a few times. Mm hmm. Oh, yeah, when your own mom puts a hit on you, you, you got to look into your family dynamics a bit. Well, yeah, but don't you think the guy from no country for old men? He should have gone on there, man. That's that easy evil evil. That yeah. And the haircut. Well, yeah, he should have been here. The air compressor.
Yeah, that was just a different take on it. Yeah. What did he do with an air compressor? Yeah, you don't want to know. Really? Well, sometimes she was just putting that down on a walk and it would punch the walk out of the door. Then he'd go in and well, you don't know, one of know what happened. I do. I got in there. Yeah. What do you use the air compressor for? Well, just it shot a metal thing out really. Oh. But he didn't put it like in people's bodies and then blow them up or like, like, put it back. Yeah. What is it? Oh, there it was. Oh, that's a different take on the evil. Well, I use it. You guys are leaving. Yes. That's what I was thinking. Yeah. Like a cartoon and you. Yes. Do all of that. You leave it up to my imagination. That's where I'm going to go with it. I thought it was going to mark because he had the movie villains. I thought the Joker, yeah. Then TV villains, I thought it was going to morph into a worst radio villains.
And I didn't know where that was going to go. Because there's so many. Some, yeah. In the market. Hey, breaking news. Oh, breaking news in the back of my van is. Oh, yes. Is a restored screen for Molly. Wow. Wow. I got the. Yeah, time I might take my AC unit out today. It is. It is time. It's yeah. One day. Yeah. I saw the before and after photo. Yeah. Yeah. So maybe after the show will go out and get it. Would you see the before and after? He sent to me. Why? What? What an eye on what an about me. I want it. I want to put it up on the everywhere. I want to blast it everywhere. Well, oh, geez. I've got one of your last names from 10 years ago on there. Hey, what did you do? You got it. That's terribly. I mean, go get my air compressor. Do some things to you.
Oh my gosh. No, it is and thanks to Trish for I finished it last night. And I started it a week ago and then I found out that my role of screen was like one inch. Yeah. Oh, no. So thanks to she was headed to Tash. She had her to town. Oh, she had it. I said, hey, could you pick me up for a little screen because standards 36 and dumb. Uh, most windows are 32. So you need a little more. What is her with her? So 36? No, it was I think a 32. Oh, why? Why? It's a tall one and that is a very nice. Oh, thanks, Ken. Thank you. I learned a little bit and then when I was done, I knew if I put it on my lap and tried to go across the long two of that. I would have landed on the screen on the wall. So Trish took it out and put it. It's all right there. I can even drop it off. I know you well, no, what I'll do.
You have room for it. Oh, sure. Oh, good. Yeah, I can fit in my back of my car. Oh, sure. I'll just come out and then I'll go out to the van and then I'll come back into the building with a big screen. Yep. Hey, Natasha has a question. She says, are you still moonlighting and as as an afterlife attendant? I believe I'm still on the rolls. I just got sent down and I haven't been called up yet. Well, and it's quite a drive for anything you're doing now. Yeah, it's coming to an attempt. You know, the last service that I attended was in January. In January? It's been a while and there was my boss retired. Oh. Well, well, no, not the pope. He even got fired by God. He's alive and well. My boss, Trisha and she's enjoying retirement. I check her now and then. So I don't, you know, so when you move to post false, maybe you get involved with a different chapter.
Maybe the Idaho chapter. That's true. You know, as we drive over there now and then I will point out and say, well, Trisha go, hey, there's the medical center. That's why I go, hey, there's a funeral home. I'm sure I can go in there and get a job there. They start noticing all those. No, because you got previous experience at all. Oh, yeah. You got a resume on a count of the experience. Yeah. How, what's the progress on your house? Have you been by lately? We did. We went out for a kind of a, to the design center, I guess, out in Liberty Lake and then right after that, Trisha and I drove out there. It's all, oh, they were pouring the concrete. Yeah. The porch and now it's all wrapped around and drywalls up there doing all the inside work now. We're pouring the concrete. Pouring the concrete. Everything is happening. So is all of the outside done? Well, I mean, you saw it and all that.
No. But like the buildings and all the windows are buttoned up or not. But they are working like crazy. And then one right, you were telling me that there's one right next to you that's slightly ahead of you and then one that's on the same course. Right. So you have neighbors right when you move in. Oh, I know. And the house, the house that's a little bit ahead of us, it is a tall house. Wow. It's called the Sequoia. Oh, Sequoia model. But it is so tall it makes us, it makes our little house look like it's the made quarter. You're the Tom Cruise House. I know. Yeah, we just then were short. Our footings are a little shorter. What's yours called? Arz is the wine lock. How regional is that?
Yeah. What if you get to Idaho and they say, we've got some Washington people over there. We don't take canely to Washington people. What are you going to do? Well, you're going to send that guy back to his farm. I don't know. It is, you know, just from driving around the neighborhood and most of it's filled in. It's just kids on bikes and people walking and dogs. But what if they come over and they knock on the door and they say, so we're eating and you and the Mrs. from. They may, hey, see you drove up and beat up cargo then. I seen your car out there, Washington place. Those running boys beat the hell. They don't talk like that. Well, they might start. Yeah, they may start.
Yeah. You know, one thing about our house and I have to thank the Greenstone company and the people, the builders, they did some adaptation for us that they would not normally do. Thank you to them and they may, they lowered our foundation so it could have a level entry. Oh, let's go. Rather than a ramp. It might have a slight slope, but it has no stairs and all of the patio is even around the house. And our realtor was out looking at it and probably in the early days. And one of the neighbors came over and said, hey, what do you know about this house? How did they get that lowered? And then so it's already starting. Oh, people, there's a lot of shadow about you guys. There's a lot of heat on it.
Why is this one slightly different? So the whole neighborhood, how long is the first person lived there? I don't know because the, we're on a loop and half of the loop is done. So that's all new. It's not like you have long time or something. I would say within the last eight or ten months, maybe, but families move in. But you don't have a little closer to us. You can see people. Oh, yeah, there's a moving truck. But I think that's good because you don't have any lifers like your cranky old neighbor. No, no, it is like in a my neighborhood, there's people who've been there for 50 years. Right. But you're not going to, this is all, you're all new. You're all in even all right. All very, very new. That's no. But sometimes there's clicks when you move into the new neighborhood. Oh, I know. Yeah. They don't take kindly to newcomers. No, you're an image is from once again. How'd you get them to lower it? Yeah. I mean, you got them. But for them doing that, we were so thankful, of course, and said, if you would like to use
this as a, as a model show, if you have all that would like to, and our hope is they make it like a plan B for an ADA model, because hey, we're there. It's a whole generation coming through. Sir. That's pretty cool. Yeah. And when we went into sign our final documents, and we actually had to sign, and you were talking about, does anybody even know how to do this anymore? I asked the gal, I said, does anybody even know how to do cursive anymore? And she goes, not very any. She goes, they just print on both lines. And I said, I do it like twice a month maybe, but you wondered, does anybody even know? You know, the last time I had to do anything real estate-wise, it was all sent to me, e, like the- Most was, yeah. And I did it on my phone and said, yes, yes, yes, yes, auto sign, yes, send.
Right. And it's like, okay, it's sold. I was talking to my daughter, because she had some real estate thing pop up. And I said, oh, I did a deal with that person, did a deal with that person. Oh, so are they nice or something? I said, well, I never physically met them. Right. There's so many of the real estate deals that you were doing. It was either phone text, you know, sometimes it would be an actual phone call, or just emailing paper. But you would do deals and be working with a person for weeks and weeks, get a deal done, and you never physically met them. It's just, everything was, it's all techy now. The first half. The early days of real estate. They would be like, okay, I'll meet you here, and then we'll bring the physical paperwork, and then you were, you know, you'd meet with the family and the other agent, and it was a whole thing. Now, it's all electronic. It was always exciting. Electronic, yeah. It's always exciting buying a new car, a new house, but my least favorite part back in the day.
And it was like, we're all done. And then they say, no, you got to go down to the title company. They've got an inside. Oh, yeah. Just, oh, it was, but they had to drive them, not, but then. And then you said, I think it was you that told me that the stack of things that you had, was it you or somebody else that said they had a person who read every word? I had one guy, older guy, read every word. Super nice guy. But man, he wanted to, and it was, you know, the title companies you go in there, it's like a half hour appointment, but most people are done in 12 minutes. Yeah. Well, we were, we were there for over an hour because he wanted to, he was going to make sure that he read every. Yeah, pretty nice. Well, it's pretty standard stuff. Well, no, yeah. Oh, no, Dave. No, I'm not stuck in. Right. Me look here. One guy. Yeah. It's always, this paper says we won't scam you. This paper says you saw the paper that said we won't scam you.
And this one is an initial verifying that we won't scam you. And you're saying that you can't go past this line. Yeah. If it does and you got to redo it because it has to be all. Yeah. Yeah. I came up with all that. That's a thing. And when I started real estate, there were, you could do a deal with nine ages. And then when I, when I, the last deal I did, I believe, and it was pretty, pretty basic in the world of home sales. I think there was 26 pages. And that was, that was about as small as you could get for, for the, to do a real estate transaction. It's just all there. Right. A lot of paperwork. Yeah. But then magically during COVID, you could do it all over the computer. Magically when you weren't allowed to be in person, you could just click, yeah. And, and it was fine. Everything turned out fine. I did. I did. I had to have a notary come to my house, though. Yeah. During, it was a refinance, I think, and then they had to come and, and it was like, ask up and hand it through the slot.
And don't touch me. Don't look at me. You're going to look at me with COVID. Right. Roll your window down halfway. I'm sticking this up your nose. Yes. See what's going on in there. Yeah. That was a different time. Yeah. That was a different time. Yeah. All right. Well, sorry. Are you ready to do the envelopes of English? We'll take a break, of course. Okay. Yeah. We did it last week, and we all had very interesting questions. We sure did. All different questions. We sure learned a lot during that segment. Molly's breaking her friends' glasses. You are sitting on parts of your body. Roded. I had cheerleaders in the storming my bedroom that I wasn't prepared for. You know, we did a deep dive into that whole thing, Ken and I did. 100%. And we were laughing about it because we were talking about how wrong it was and how much for a teenage boy that could have gone horribly wrong. Really right. Well, yes. And we did. We took some time to really take part that whole scenario.
And then we spent some time on your whole junk thing too. Right. Because we were very concerned about that. Talking about his story. Yes. Yes. A story. A story. Of course. Too much time. No, no, no. No, no, no. All right. So we'll do a break, and then we'll come back with the envelopes of English, and then we'll have our hot topic segment as well. This is the David Mollyshow with Ken right here from the New America studio. We now return to the David Mollyshow. Hey, welcome back everybody. The David Mollyshow continues, and now it's time for the envelope of English. Making its return to the program. We used to do this, and then we didn't do it for a while. Then we did it last week. Big hit. Big hit. So it's back. It's a big hit in the comeback. So Mollyshow has got all the envelopes. They look like they're all filled with English. We'll be called upon to pull one of the envelopes, and you can see on the outside of the envelope, it says confidential on them.
So you know it's in red. Yeah. That's red uppercase. Yeah. It's like, oh. So we pick an envelope, and then inside is the question that we must answer on the spot. Right. Okay. There are always some questions. Well, we have a list of the possible questions that could come up in there. Oh. They're sort of sent to me. Ow, my gloves. Ow. I just saw that. The glasses are hurting again. And it's odd because it happened at the same time. It's weird. I had a weird headache, but you just took them off. Can you help? Okay. So Ken's going to read some of the questions that could come up. Okay. Yes. Yes. Uh-huh. Okay. Just a few of the questions that come up. Okay. Is murder always bad? If you were a hooker, what would your specialty be? Okay. This whole homeless thing. What should we do? That's kind of worms. Like America? Rift from today's headlines.
What charitable causes like really what and why? If you had to, uh, if you had to, I mean, really had to, what country would you just eliminate? Oh, that would be a good discussion to have. Yeah. Yes. Brown Eye Bumbles outrage in the outhouse. Crap, crap, crap, crap, cappers, paper, pandemonium, crap, capers, I'm sorry. Now, how would you know? You're on the way to the end. Oh, you did read it before. Oh, I was like, my glasses broke. Oh, okay. And your headliner, poop, pandemonium, opening for colon catastrophe. Oh, that is rough. Just a few of them. Yeah. Doesn't mean those are going to come up, but those are some that are in the envelopes of
the house that could happen. Who's going to go first? Who's going first? If no one will do it, I'll do it. I like to get nervous playing this game. All right. I could card any cards. There we go. I'm going to, because she knows the, I'm a, was her fan out. Oh, she's making a face at all of them. Oh, what if I take, I'm take the end one. Oh, he went to the end. I thought I would catch her off guard. Confidential. Mm-hmm. Well, I guess for the people listening, that's good. That's sound effect. Got the envelope open. Mm. Lake America? Question mark. No, this says, uh, what movie line still? Rings true to you.
Movie line. Like one line particular. Or distender stuff. Oh, that's beautiful. That rings true. What movie line? You know, I don't know if this was actually said in the movie, but this goes back to, you know, it's a wonderful life. At the very end, remember when they're all gathered around. It's everybody's happy. And then George opens the, the, the Bible that he gets. George rubs off and he opens it up. And then it's, it's a message from Clarence. And it's something like, uh, you know, as long as you have, or no, no person is a failure as long as they have friends or something like that. Right. That's always stayed with me, although I didn't get the line exactly right. But the whole, this whole friend's thing, we're talking about it last night actually, that, that, uh, like the kids, they don't have such great friends. So we're referencing my daughter's birthday the other day, where we had the little gathering there at the scoop and then it was just kind of like all different ages and families that she's worked with and all that kind of stuff.
And it's like, well, that's, that's pretty great. Yeah. My middle daughter, um, she had a great friend too, just lifelong friends that rented a truck to help her move. And they drive, they rent the truck, they load her up. They, I mean, it's just like, they take care of it. It's like, oh, that's, that's super cool. You know, there's, uh, and then, and then my son's got friends that just have done, been just absolutely amazing for him too. Then I started to think about, about my situation. Like, I'm a disaster. I'm a mess. But, but I have a lot of people that are, that are around me that, that are, you know, they're trying, it's very, they're trying very hard to keep me afloat. Keep me, keep me, so, so I don't think I'm a total failure because I have friends. Yeah. Yeah. Support you. So, and so let me ask you this because I feel like I have great friends as well. Um, minor better. Hmm. I think yours have a bigger job.
You're busy. Yeah. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe I have to do more. Might have a higher threshold to friend. But with your son and your daughters, do they, as good friends as they are, then are they part of like, now, Joe needs to move. So now we're part of that crew. Uh, I think so. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So that, because I think that becomes, and I think as you get older, that, so for a certain age, that is the thing that they need. Then it becomes older. It's like support because you're losing parents. So you're losing this or you're losing that. Yeah. Right. You're very, it is. Yeah. It's not physical stuff as much as it is whatever. But, um, I think that those friends is like, everybody has to be an agreement that we all do that for each other. Not just. Right. Oh, I have great friends and they, you know, you're part of it and everybody gives the way whether they bring the humor or they bring the fun or the spirit, everybody's giving back. Yeah.
There's a lot of, you know, and there's the other phrase, the whole, it takes a village kind of a thing. Yeah. When you're, when you have kids and they're growing up and they're little, it does. It's like, well, you know, I can't make it to, you know, can you take the kids to the practice and it's always like, oh, yes. Of course, because we're all kind of in this together, that kind of stuff. But then as you get older into young adulthood and then older adulthood, you have, you have a, uh, people that you can tell truly care. They're not, they're not just saying that, oh, I'm your friend. I'll, I'll, you know, help you through this or I'll do this or I'll, whatever. I mean, they're really, they're really involved. They're actively, uh, asking, hey, can I do this for you before you? Right. Because, you know, it's hard to ask for stuff. Yeah. It's like it's kind of invested into the process. Yeah. So I think the, the whole friendship thing, as long as you have really good friends around you, I think you're going to be okay. Mm-hmm. And then we see all these different studies about the, the people that live the longest.
Yeah. They all have a very strong social, you know, a social group or they're very social people. Yeah. There is something that absolutely is important to your mental health for that. Oh. Well, when we get like, we had to go ask Molly and the woman had like crappy friends. And I think that we see a lot of that where you see people who don't have a good friend network that there's people who are, you know, not just, it's, it, we shouldn't take it for granted. We're lucky. Yes. We've cultivated. And I think that when you do have a good friend network, it's because what you've put out there to create it for sure. Sure. But there are some people who I know who I'm like, they themselves are not great, but they have the best friends. You know, I know those people where it's like, I kind of want to hang it. I don't like them, but they're a whole friend. Yeah. It's awesome. Well, I think you get that whole friend group to be there. And part of that story too, it comes from the, you know, the golf course too, where I'll
be playing with different people. And every time I play with, with a new person in a group that, that I've known forever with it, they always say, man, you have really good friends. Those are good people. I'm glad I got to meet, you know, your, your friend Todd, your friend, you know, all these people that, that will always reference the friends that, that are in my group. And so it's not that they're my friend. They happen to be good people. Maybe that's, I stumbled across some very good people somehow. That's good. Somehow. Yeah. And the kids have done, the kids do it too. It's like, man, I've really, and I always make sure they tell me, make sure you tell them, that's, that's a pretty cool thing that they're doing for you. Yeah. I think they get it. Yeah. I think if you're appreciative that shows, you know, I would have to say some of, well, I'll include my wife, some of our favorite people, Dave or your friends and Molly, your friends, like when we get together in the bigger circle and it's like, oh my gosh, you get to see,
you know, don't see them a lot, but it just love. Yeah. That is. Yeah. They're good. I feel lucky. I have my friends. I've had for a long time and they're, I just think different phases in your life. You see them more. There used to be a time where we had dinner together every Sunday night and COVID kind of blew that up. Right. Or we went to Charlie's every Saturday night. I was going to say Charlie's. Yeah. And then you have grandkids. You have stuff and it's just sort of, but you know they're always there. You know, in a special in a crisis, like you have that group of people. So that's pretty cool. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Working hard. Yeah. They're working hard. They're working hard. They are doing all they can. Yeah. But I think that going back to the original thing with the movie line, it's like that's, you know, that's a movie from the, what is that? The 40s. I mean, it's almost a hundred years old. Right. It's like 80, 85 years old. But that statement or that thing is that that can be important for you.
Or for anyone for forever. Yeah. Yeah. Most of the two to three. Just if you can stay on the good side of people, most, most good people. I like the line and I used it the other day. We're talking to a friend who used to have a winery now as a distillery and he's using the old wine to make the gin and the vodka and I said everything is on its way to somewhere. And that's from phenomenon. And that is, he takes the bite of an apple and then he's talking to the kids because he's, you know, he's dying. Right. But that is when it can's favorite lines, but I like that line. It's true. Everything is on its way to somewhere. It's a good line from a movie. It holds true. It's a great line. Mm-hmm. And also that's a pretty effing good milkshake. I mean, that's good. Oh, that's a good one. That stays with me. Was? Yeah. You think of that every now and then. I'm like a miser. It got weird dimmins. I'm like the hot pockets they're breathtaking. Not all the lines have to be doctor evil.
No, but it could be. Yeah. Hold up well. I like them. All right. All right. So I'm going out. Oh, that's great. Now Ken's got a good. I can tell she wants him to pick a certain one. I can tell. Look how she's looking. Oh, she's pushing it. Look at it. Yeah, she's pushing it on you. Be careful with that. Is it reverse like? I'm going to do what they did. You go to the end. Yeah. I'm going to go all the way over. Whatever. Confidential. Hey, America, like America. See, they're just noisy. Yes. Boy, yours is on big, big. Yeah. Which guy? This is kind of odd. It says, um, Ken. What is your happy place? Oh. So it said Ken on there. So I put that on. It says recipient. Oh, fair enough. Okay. But I'll go with that. You know, maybe think the other day, I am.
I am happiest with a project. I just am. I remember way back in the radio days. We, I mean, you guys remember you just climbed it out and. You know, everybody would say, oh, you kind of have a hobby. And I would always either run or bike or do something like that. But I was always happiest with like a screwdriver and a wrench and a. Parapliers working on stuff. And since we have kind of relocated out to the lake house. Quite a few. I mean, we had to condense. Everything into just one floor. So among my projects, a garment rack, Trish ordered a. Of course, you have to put it all together. Yes. And that the pieces were laying on our main dining area table for like three weeks. And every time I thought, oh, I need to WD 40 that is like, oh, thank you.
And so I finally got that done off the board project. And then, you know, I had the screens waiting. A few screens all stepped up. But right in front of the screens, laying against it. Trish ordered a deck box. A nice big plastic deck box. A nice big plastic deck box that you could put life jackets in. And this and that for like, oh, going to put it on. Oh, for the lay. Oh, yes. Yeah. Okay. Just giant table size plastic chunks. And finally two nights ago, I said, you've got to do that deck box. Why are you doing? And I got the tunes going. I got my tools out. And it's pretty cool because you can snap it all together basically. And then you have to put the screws in every, you know, solidify it.
So I'm kind of working in shifts. And it was later in the evening. It was a dusk. And we are real close to the lake. So Fisherman just or Fisher people. They can just float right by. And they're just quiet as a mouse. But I noticed three teenagers, they're standing up on their boat. And they have a, like a big fly schle, like a headlight. Oh. They're doing night fishing. And I'm thinking, hey, I'm out here with my tools. Yes. And you're happy place. And I kind of look up and wave. And they wave back at me. I'm trying to be real quiet, but I got my music going. And then I realized it was as I was trying to be hip with the kids. It was playing a Taylor Swift song. A feed of a female or something. So the next time they came floating by, at least it was on a rock song. Nice. Yeah.
I think it was a sleepy hollow or whoever the age was. It was a sleep. Sleep. The most searched ever. Sleep. Dang it. Sleep tune. Sleep. How do we forget that already? I thought that. Anyway, so I track on that. So anyway, I finish up that. And then I get to the screens because I like you. And Molly's screen got finished. And I just loved it. And I poked my head in our slider screen, which is really our front door. Yes. Trish was in watching TV and I said, I think I found my happy place. And I said it and I quote. And she laughed and said, do you want to watch the 50th season of Survivor? I laugh. Oh, you guys, you're happy place. But I just, I just have an a project. I liked it you like it because I had a project that, you know, I was building the little library house, you know, for Christy.
And I do enjoy it when it's going well. And you're going to make sure all the parts match up. Okay, the saying screws. So it must be these screws because I've got to save these screws for later. And as the project comes together, I didn't enjoy it. But it was also like, I don't know if I'm good at this. Is this happening? Yeah. Somebody's probably, you would probably be way better at this. I'll tell you this. I am on Taipei. I get out the instructions and I just have to pour over them. Really? You know, it's my problem. I do do it. Well, I just, I want to see the picture of it. Like what does it look like when it's done? And then I'll start working. And then I'll check with the instructions. But what it says start with panel E. And there's four of them that look the same. Yeah, you said. Well, then you can eat. Yeah, there's that look for the sticker. Yeah. We were having this conversation Tuesday.
I picked up the girls and Scarlett likes to go into the kids room. Turn on her TV. I bring her a mixture of snacks. She likes a bowl of like five different kinds of chips. So she likes a sampling. Oh, no. And then a root beer or glass of milk or something. Oh, pretty. And I walked in and she was watching TV. She was so happy. And I said, this is your happy places in it. She said, it is. Oh. Yes, she said, where's your happy place? And I didn't say the casino. But you were thinking it. No, I said, I think it's my RV. I said, I truly a piece when we get, when we get camped somewhere, not epic casino, just like it, along the lake, when we go to the coast, we get it all set up and we sit down and we play cribbage and hang out. And it's truly a happy place. That is. It is. It is. The golf course when someone else is paid for the round. Yeah. Like the other day. Yeah. I also like an airplane ride. Oh, good. It can be horrible. You know, we get bad people next to you, but that is like it.
But it's exciting and fun. Yeah. But nobody can get to you. Yeah. I've always said my other than having a project, my favorite seat is the driver's seat. I'm the happiest. Oh, yeah. Driving and road trip. I like a road trip. Yeah. Like a freeway road trip. You know. Get all comfortable in there. Put on your tailors. Yeah. Get all the way. Yeah. Yeah. Swifty. Who? I was sleep-token, by the way. You were a man. Sleep? Have you heard of them before? Never heard of them. I would have guessed slipknot before I would have guessed that. Yeah. I've heard of them. I couldn't even tell you. I'm a 5 finger death pun. The insane clown posse. They also have coverings and you don't know who they are. Really? Yeah. It's a little crazy. Yeah, it is. I think you want to pick mine for me. Oh. Yes, I should because you shouldn't. You because you know. Right. Right. I. She's not even looking. I'm not even looking. She's not looking. Look away.
Oh, look away. Look away. Look away. All right. You have one. All right. What's your reaction to this one? I think that's if it's the one I think it is, it's going to be horrible. Oh, it might be wrong. You should get horrible. Let me see. Let's see what it says. I don't know if it's that. Is that... Well, you got the big paper too. Oh, yeah. Besides the Dave Matthews band, what other joyful events do you not enjoy? How dare you... Sorry. Question is that. It's horrible. Hey, isn't it Dave Matthews weekend? Yes, it is. That's why we just... We just... Our friends picked up. The friends you met. Tony Michelle, you met in my house before the yard sale. They just picked up the RB. They are going out to Dave Matthews. Excellent. It's the third season in a row doing that. That'll be joyful. Easy me last night. We're going to bring you magnets. May I? Other joyful events that I do not enjoy. Oh, I think I have a few of them. And we'll help you fill in if you forget. Right.
Okay. Any sort of music festival. If it says festival afterwards, yeah. Yeah. I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. Yeah, I'll do it. I'll do it. I'll do it. Alright. It's a festival afterwards. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's no longer with us, but the pick out in the park was a joyful event that I did not. I've been kind of with you. There's a joyful for a couple of years with the right-aged kids. Yeah, but it was not tough. Wedding's not my favorite. Oh. Well, you've had so many. I know. Bad memories from the four. Here's the thing about weddings is that I go into with a bad attitude because I was looking at it like this is never. Like this is never gonna last. I don't care how much you love each other. Now Quinn, I am looking for to Quinn. Oh, that'll be great. Quinn and Maddie, that I am looking forward to because I adore both of them and I do think that they will last. And a lot of people who get married do last. But on his and in the toast and the dancing
and all of the hoopla, I'm like, I can't help it. Yeah. What a perfect question the way it was was where to joyful events. These are supposed to be very nice things and now you're crushing them all. You know, the thing about I love going to the weddings of the kids of nowadays because they do things so differently. Yes, they do. Last summer we went to two weddings, both well done. One, the bride and groom walked back as a married couple to all of them by John Leiden. Oh, John Leiden. And the other movie, the other wedding we went to, they walked back from being a married couple to kickstart my heart by Motley Crew. Yes. And I said, I agree. I was both. It was all, yeah. I just love them. Well, that's, and that's good. Yeah, it's a good idea. I don't know. I'm trying to think of what other joyful and I'm not going to put Dave Matthews in the joyful category because, well, basically,
any concert that's not brandy, for instance, walking back up from the Billy Joel concert to Reptown girl. Yes, joyful for him. Joyful for the rest of the gang. I wanted to just find an Uber. And it was like, I know. I'm like a raw chit-y old bat. When they got into the Dewwap. And then the journey concert you left early and you stormed out of there and you were going to walk home. Why? Then you were a reprimanded. I missed that. So Ken, first of all, it was a work night. And we decided to Uber down to the journey concert. And we have several people who will back me up. They were not playing the hits. And on a weeknight, I'm sorry, but when you do a drum solo and a guitar solo and like a bass solo, and don't play a hit, and then you want me to stay up late. Had it been a Saturday night, I would have been fine writing it out. But I'm looking at the clock going, we're going to have to get out of here. But then when we left, even though it was probably an hour
before the concert was over, they wouldn't let Uber's anywhere around the arena. Oh, just 50. So they kept dropping. Keep dropping. We're like, we'll go to the talk about. Nope, they dropped us. So I decided, because I was pissed, I was going to walk home through felony flats at night in flip-flops. Molly. I know. I got yelled at. Ken finally said, stop! He screamed at me. So you were like blazing the trail on the frog? He was a block and a half behind me. And they're pit bulls barking everywhere. Car alarms going off. OK, members doing things. No people. I mean, it was a bad scene. No, I'm exaggerating. Meanwhile, there were 10,000 other people having a joyous event. Yes. You know, just saw yards away. What songs could Journey play that weren't hits? What is that? That's what they do. What are they doing coming out with? Ken, they went deep. Back the uptester.
I think it was that bad. Yeah. There were a lot of hits. They played a lot of hits. Well, that's good. There was a significant. I think the problem was they put like a non-hit with the drum solo and then another knot. So you had to stretch where it's all right. But you knew. Because if you were there for the beginning, you knew all they still have this. We still got the big ones to go. Right. Of course you're going to be there. You're going to wait in the out. And it was late and it was the work night. And I was tired. Yeah, it does. It can get a little late. The source bagel banner. No, I'm just kidding. I like that. The things you're tired of. I'm just trying to think of other joyful events that I'm not fond of. Do you know what I embarrassingly? I wouldn't see him non-joyful, but just burnt out on the Lee Greenwood God bless you, I say. Is that terrible? Well, you don't like your country. It's fine. But it just doesn't ramp me up. Yeah.
Yeah, like Desert Storm. Browdy. Desert Storm. Yeah, and where at least that love for you. I like when, yeah. He's a worthy man. Yes. Yeah. That's OK. That's kind of like Old Time Rock and Roll. That got ruined. I am 100%. I totally agree. Totally agree. And that's like the 40th best Bob Seeger song. If you're going to say Bob Seeger, like Old Time Rock and Roll is not in the top. Yeah, so many other great songs. And then that one takes over and say, enough people boring. I don't like when everybody gets up and. Does the one thing I didn't want at my first wedding was a conga line. Hey, those are fun. Now listen, you're talking about. Did you have to do the conga line in your first wedding? Yeah. I didn't think I had to say I don't want a conga line.
But I actually did out loud say I don't want a conga line. And I look around and there's an effing conga line. And I'm thinking, what are we going to do? We can't not. John and Kelly were part of the conga line. My auntie and I started the thing. This little teeny Annie. Let's do the conga line. Like this is the one thing I didn't want at my beautiful, beautiful castle wedding. Where they play in the Miami sound which is. It was a chat. We had an 11 piece jazz band. And I said, I don't want any music past 1960. Like it was supposed to be all and pretty big. Swing. Bam, bam, bam, bam. Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam. No wonder you don't like weddings. You didn't like your own. Your first one. I thought I said. You know, my third wedding. We did a flash mob thing. It was really, it was a big deal that in our song was Journey. Don't stop believe it was, yeah, just a small town girl. Yeah, yeah.
Oh, yeah. So you know how when it ramps up, there's a, we're so we're slow dancing to it. And then when it ramps up, there were like 20 people who knew to get up at that point. Oh, and do the song. Dancing off. So it was kind of a flash mob thing. But whenever I hear that song, I remember. Reminds me. Well, that's what you didn't get to hear the song at the Journey concert because you were already stormed out. Yes. And then your next wedding, you didn't you danced to Who's Crying Now? And I thought that's a shaky choice. I don't, you don't do that one. No. So those are my non joyful. Oh, unless you can think of any more. What do you think about buffets? Yeah. Oh, I like it. Buffets good, right? Yeah, buffet. I shouldn't be trusted really at a buffet. Seeing like cruises, you would think some better old bad like me wouldn't like a cruise, but I love it. Like a cruise. And I like socializing with the elders.
Those are folder people and stuff. Yeah. I like a cruise. And I like that there's gluttony all the time. I like that it's always that there's always somebody awake. And that's why I like Vegas. I always like that when there's always somebody awake. And I like that about Northern Quest now, because even staying out in the park, in the RV park, I look back and I see the huge banner and I know that there's people in there. There's something comforting about that for me. In the glow, yeah. The glow of it all. So that's it. That covers it. I know. Live music weddings. Good live music. That's a broad category. Yeah, it's a very broad category. But she backs it up because she even her own favorite. She hasn't, you know, you don't finish it. No. I am. We are excited about Chicago later this month. And this on this actual day, I have two different memories that popped up. One is the dry casino. And one is when we went over to Seattle.
They were like exactly a year apart. But the dry casino one was the best. That was one of the best shows I've ever seen. And the little river band at a Northern Quest was one of the best in my favorite concerts I've seen. I like the old school music. So Chicago was, and then we want to go to Earth Wind and Fire. We haven't heard back yet, but I like Earth Wind and Fire too. That'd be a great show for us. So a lot of brass. Yeah, a lot of brass. And also when we go to Northern Quest, it's different because we're socializing. We're chatting. Up, we're not just sitting in the seat. We're back and forth. We're having, you know, so good. But here's my thing to you. What? And I'll support you in a lot of stuff. But if you're at Earth Wind and Fire concert, and they happen to go into a jam or a part where you don't think they're playing enough hits, right? I don't want to hear you're gripping. No. Because I'm there to enjoy the show. No. I'm going to enjoy it no matter what. I'm not going to be right. Even if I have to sit through a couple of songs I don't know, which I believe I know all of their songs. Probably. You think they might have some new stuff. Well, I don't even think they can be careful with the news.
And there were a band that I would say, oh my gosh, I forgot the band. Yes. Absolutely. So there's going to be, yeah, you'll know it. Well, I got a text from my friend Mary because I think with all the fire stuff she hasn't been paying attention to stuff. But she said, oh my god, I want to go. That they're my favorite. But that's her favorite band. And when we went to the Eagles thing, that was her favorite part of the whole Eagles. Hollywood Mac, all of those. It was that's who she wanted to see the most. Why? Yeah. So we'll be there. And if I gripe, here's what I did with Chicago. It was an inside concert. And they were playing so many horned things that I said, I'm going to gamble now. But outside concert, I wouldn't do that. Because it's way far away. It's different when you're in that pavilion. You just pop right out. Yeah. And I believe that they will do, I think they'll save the encore for the September song, will be the encore song. And then, do you remember the seventh night of September?
There we go. That's our first scene of day. It's so cool. They're talking to us. They even hate it special for us. Oh, and it raised in here. Way high. It's, no, they didn't do that. They always have to work. Yeah, they didn't even make it work. Yeah. What other songs will they play? They'll play, well, Serpentine Fire. They'll play, I can't know. What are the Earth Wind and Fire? I don't really know them all, but. Google them up. Oh, yeah. I'm excited. I hope that that'll work out. Earth Wind and Fire hits. Okay. And we're off the next day, because it's Sunday night. Oh, cool. Look at that. You type in Earth and you get Earth Wind and Fire right off the bat. Oh, they know people know. Oh, they do. Here's the best of Earth Wind and Fire. This would have all the hits. All right. All right. Here we go. Ready? Oh, no, it doesn't have the whole. Oh, here we go. Okay. Boogie Wonderland. Yes. Boogie Wonderland.
Ha, ha, ha. See, I want to forgot about that. After the love is gone. Oh, yes, to pay for. Yes, well. That sounds like a dooby brother. It's after the love. Yeah. Get away. That's a good song. How's that go? It's a fast song. Get away. Get away. Get away. Get away. Get away. Get away. Get away. Get away. Get away. Yeah. I do. Uh, reasons, reason one of my all time favorite songs. We sing it. Do it. Well, I can't. It's really high. Yes. Very, very high note reason. It's a, you know, it's a really pretty, pretty love song. There's serpentine fire. Shining star. Shining star for you to see what you're left and true, VP. Sing a song. Sing a song. Sing a song. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Uh, that's the way of the world. Uh, have heads in the stone. I don't know that one. I'll probably know it if I heard it. Right. Here's what I am going to look at. Earthwind and fire.
I think Boji Wunderland must be the biggest hit. What's out there? Biggest. Here's the set list for 2026. Oh, this'll be good. Okay. Are these open? There's a lot of it. Oh, we didn't fall. Oh, wow. Shining star for you to see. Oh, wow. Wow, that's a good start then let your feeling show okay system of survival Serpentine fire. Yeah sing a song. I gotta get you into my life. Yeah reasons After the love has gone. Yeah, oh, so they're gonna do reasons and after loves that. Oh people are gonna cry Yeah, I'm gonna cry and then That's the way of the world fantasy boogie wonderland. Let's prove in September. Oh So September is probably the one though. Yeah, you're right though and there that's a long version of that You know not a very long. Do they have somebody opening for them? You know they were They were the Lionel Richie was doing was singing with them for a while
But that was that was never gonna be a part of this part But that's a good question. I don't know. Yeah, I would think I have somebody open Think this is a great set list. I even I it's only 14 songs 11 of them are hits I can do it. Okay flow No griping don't you know we'll be dancing and stuff it'll be fun and they're gonna be Tomorrow night or no, they'd be Saturday night. Yes, they're at the edge field That was the place we stayed in oh yeah, they have a concert venue there They're there that night and then they come here. Yeah doing the little Northwest Cool, yeah, and don't get up there at Yelp brick house. They'll say that's a common or should dummy Cuz they would Well, I know kind of make you think of that. Yeah, oh listener 50 Molly I went to earth wind and fire opening for Lionel Richie. They were incredible. Hey, well
We saw them with Chicago in Seattle, I think it was either last year or two I think it was two years ago in 2024 it was the Right before we started Okay, yeah, hey, I have a little Lionel redemption story because of the whole dancing on the ceiling Yeah, you know, it's one of our favorite hate. I was in one of my favorite music stores the other day Rosars And and I started and I saw him on and I was going boom boom. I knew it was eight this is eighties I couldn't really place it and I wasn't even thinking and it just kept bumping along and then he said We were running with the night and I said this is a great song We were running with the night. Oh, yeah, we were dancing on the ceiling. No, no Nice intro for a radio. I've come around online or richy too. Yeah, and he's had some yeah
He's an American treasure and they say he's one of the nicest guys ever I have heard that and then still is still as a masterpiece that song still oh right Right or yeah, so so on this day in 2024 we were flying over To Seattle to see Chicago and earth win and fire wow and then the year right before that I said I keep making jokes about new music and a dry casino, but all jokes aside because Chicago is amazing the music was tight. They played the hits blew everyone away Thank you Ken enjoyed watching it Very cool when somebody says to you you're gonna go to a casino and top of the We're gonna have zero alcohol there. Oh no music the dry the casino Like it was completely quiet. Oh Say that doesn't sound but that was the best don't think a music playing on the back crowd So it's like quiet and dry? Telling Dave you don't even get to get your own sodas
You have to walk up to a counter and they're like we have pre-prepared sprite coke and diet coke which one would you like? Wow and no smoking and no but Seriously if there was music it was like very very quiet the machines were all turned down low And then you go into the bathroom and it's like a rock concert like last music in the bathrooms Yeah, we were laughing about it. I said I don't even want to go like I went back to the trailer to the camper I said I don't even want a game. There's nothing in there for me Wow crazy boy I bet those horns sure blew through loud when Chicago Yeah, but I have to say a very sober respectful crowd. Yes, they're all standing there like We approve of what we're hearing Carp oh New Tommy no photos right So you so you're going to a wind fire and you're going to Chicago. I hope so okay I know I'm going to Chicago for sure but you're hoping for And you and you're in a no-grip
Policy yes, okay, well, they play the hits. Yes. No, don't play the hits. That's that list. I'm happy And I'm going to look at the Chicago set list oh yeah Chicago. Yeah, that can be trouble for me The old man was saying I thoroughly enjoyed that song 256 to four It was great Oh Sitting cross leg on the floor 25 or 64 Just didn't that reminds me of being at a basketball game as like an elementary kid well And you know my son was in the like a high school band and everything and he was they would that was one of their go-to that Like every high school band plays that and so he got an appreciation for how great of a song that is it is a great It is yeah great band song. This tells me worried though you guys there's 25 songs yes, whoo wow Introduction dialogue part one and two that's that
Questions 67 and 68 that's a hit. I was a hit okay alive again. Oh, that's great song call on me Searching for so long. Oh really pretty song monogougle Look at the osus. I don't know if you leave me now. Oh, yeah Then why do ballet for a girl in Buchanan don't know that one then set number two do they play like at the old days Oh Does anybody really know what time it is great song good one look away Long come a comms a woman hard habit to break is a great one. You're the inspiration Beginnings. Oh, I love that one. That's a long one. That's where they'll work in their guitar solo or their drum solo Okay, that was one when Ken and I first started dating that we would play and then we would do dances in like We do little dance like if we were napping and we wake up and then we that would be the song Right on it. Yeah, that's what I think about every time your love keeps lifting me higher and higher
I'm a man just you and me street player hard to say. I'm sorry Saturday in the park Saturday in the first Feeling stronger every day. Yes. Oh, I was running song is free and 25 or 64 Oh, that's the last 25 or 64. Okay, it's 25 songs. Yes, I haven't feeling it's a lot. You'll never hear 25 or 64 you'll be long gone Yes, I it's a challenge. It's a Sunday night and we work the next day. So you're right. I will be gone or do we Oh, okay, Molly would you be mad if they cut You're the inspiration and hard habit break would you be mad if they just cut those? Yes, I would Cuz it starts with that a vis-key board and it just It's so Peter satiratesh Sir up. They were big hits though. I guess I got you can't deny the hit head right But when that's gonna be
You're gonna be gripping Whisper whispered gripe Okay, I'll keep it I'll keep it quiet. I don't want to affect anyone else Cuz those are those are monster hits. Yes, even I know they're monster hits correct. Don't work for me But I appreciate the hit factor of them Right More horns I do love the singer he is magical the guy who sings with Chicago now and he's so unassuming looking just a tall kind of Older guy and his voice though. He hits every single note. Is he younger guy? No, I just said he's an older guy. Oh Is he not is he not what part of the original group? No, oh no He some of the horn guys are they've been there for 40 years to original guys one of them was my uncle Jimmy's roommate Wow actually Actually, he's coming to town uncle Jimmy You should check it out this guy. He has he was a
He was a studio musician um and Hang on I'll look him up and he he's so unassuming looking and you just you wonder if he's gonna make it through his tall and thin And he's just sort of a man His name is Rudy Cardenas or Dennis, but Yeah, there he is He's sort of goofy. They're just like a good. I don't know anyway. Well, that's probably the guy. I've seen them Multiple times in the last few years. Oh wait now. This is deal. Maybe this is a new guy. I don't hey I always never journey singer speaking of Yes, he may. Oh, he's great. Yeah He's been with journey longer than Steve Perry was with journey, which is crazy That is that's not uh, hey, we got a couple of real quick texts here Andy Lister 98 says hey don't knock the top-in-ish casino. That's where I learned how to gamble Hey, okay, and then a brand new texture. They've never texted before the first and only text ever to the show says hey
Earthwinden fire have no opener. They go on at 730 shows over at 915 nice Brilliant Wayne and simple and I'm just learning this that as of June of this year It's Rudy is a new Chicago singer the guy I liked was Neil Donnell and he left Chicago so I don't know about this new guy So we'll see I really like the other guy. Oh turn over Well, if they need me if called upon I would you know, I know their songs if they say hey Dave Why don't you come up and manage you do uh, why don't you do old days for us and then I'll yeah Good times. I remember. Yeah, I can do that one At the baseball card and the spoke and what if they came to you and said We need it. We need a first-man trumpet our guys Our guy had a horse and we need you to fill in the that one song the old days is the song that the one guy hated singing
He hated it Peterson not Peter sit there was it Peter satara. I think that was a song. I don't mind Can't hold me the story. He didn't like singing that song. He thought it was stupid Well, I think Peter satara stupid me too Okay, old days was a what that was from like the 70 70 I don't win in Peter's Tara start with a big I think Peter's and Tara is with the band for a long time But then he didn't become their lead singer until Later and they needed all the softer stuff Well, I want to know they were big hits who would you see in concert that you haven't seen better alive Meaning like I know you'd go back and see some people like prince and Tom Petty. Yes, my biggest regret is Tom Petty Yeah, and I was there and I didn't stay for the concert because I was doing something for the station I was one of those things where we were outside with the tent. Oh, yeah, I had a ticket And it was probably a work night and I walked around I heard a couple of the songs and then I left
Yeah What I see? I'm pretty prince of the moves Always thought oh, that'll come around big Seattle show. I've never seen you too in concert Thought to great one and I was told I everybody that told me about how great you two was in concert. I was you know Rolling my eyes Scribing Because I thought because they were make statements like oh, it's just it's it's it's life change and experience and it's stuff You've never seen before and it's like I've seen 200 concerts in my life nothing is gonna blow me away and then I saw you too and they did indeed blow me with those fantastic It's just a they are a great concert band. Yeah, you look at him and just say it there's the edge and Bono and I mean they're just in the energy they come it was that was Magical is the right word that's how Peter Gabriel was for me because I was the same thing I was like I think I know some of his music, but he puts on a really good. Mm-hmm. Did you ever get to see the police?
I never did I saw the police event cover BC, but here was the thing it was it one of those domes where there it was all made of like cloth and it's summer in British Columbia So it's light till 11 30 at night practically so the whole concert basically it was light kind of a day Weird as thing it was great and they were warming up outside of your hotel room one time member My bed is sting it was a huge regret because Synchronicity had come out and That was just the lead up into the kind of the summer and they were going on the big tour And I was aware they were coming to the Tacoma dome But I was in a car traveling to corpus christian It's cyclopedias door to door But I yeah And then they then they said hey, you were done and I would have liked to have seen the gogos in that day And I remember they would play smaller clubs in LA, but if you didn't get tickets right away
There was just no way that you could get in Yeah, that would have been on fire fun Mm-hmm. I did get to see kiss In their old days and their new days Yeah, hey, Dave. Guess who I saw down in pole man Starship Yeah I think it was one of those shows where I was Young worker and everybody else and I'm not going down there and there was a bunch of tickets and God, it was rebuilt the city toward Uh, that's one of the um, I had my first radio concert Concert was journey journey and Brian Adams down in polman Similar situation it was like hey, we got all these tickets and if you if you work here in the morning and you do all this Then you can have them and you can go I was like oh, this is great the tickets were not very good They were kind of almost behind the stage but side one. Yeah, that was that was the faithfully and that that album
And then Brian Adams was just breaking out with you know cuts like a knife and all the run to you and it was like That was that's pretty good. I remember seeing Brian Adams in the old coliseum That was the white t-shirt and blue jeans tour, which I guess Brian Adams was always that but yeah He was on fire there for a while. I never saw Bruce Springsteen and I know that was the one that was the concert that everybody My uncle like my uncles loved him in the 80s or with a big the cars. Did you ever see the cars? I never saw the cars. I saw cars. That was my first concert ever was the cars candy. Oh, no, I need you I was where you forced to smuggle in some grass. I was forced to smuggle in the pipe the smoking device I did not have the weed on me and it was in my littlest sports sack and a woman found it and threw it away And my brother was like that was my favorite pipe I don't want to blame you Like you're the bad person. Yeah
Yeah, we used to go all the time that was when the thing was to get your K-L-S stickers Uh, those they had the things so whenever you went you had wanted those stickers It was very important and no matter and they never put their name anywhere on it It was just the band with that rainbow thing and you knew it was all K-L-S And they had we had rush and arrowsmith and cars and would that it was just like that was a big deal Late 70s early 80s. That was the thing you know, I've seen arrowsmith twice Kind of the newer But I remember right when I started Uh, it was Kremeth him and arrowsmith and I guess I didn't know they were all drugged out and like yeah But they played at the call seam and nobody wanted to go and I said oh go Yeah, I mean that's sweet emotion and all that and you know, it was before they Came out with yeah, dude looks like a lady and all that but I was shocked over there They said well, Stephen Tiger's drunk all the time. We don't know if he can get through a song
Wow, it was good. Yeah, I mean it wasn't probably as tight. Yeah, but he's always a great performer Years ago when I was a kid then at the Gorge and then one time in Nashville and I loved him every single time That one that our old boss that he kept telling me Yeah, I don't know if you're gonna get tickets to the arrowsmith and they were my favorite band at the time I was like what and at the last minute he gave me tickets and they were flores They were like right at the pit. They were really good seats But I was so mad. I was like you knew you've known for months. I've been asking. I think he decided I'm gonna go last minute. Yeah Jerk I always like train kept rolling. That's great song Gupta Rowan all night. Oh That was their big hit I remember someone telling me they saw him in Vegas and and I was picturing the scene I've never seen him but they said it was it's all dark and it's the
You just hear the music just very slowly and then lights come on drum smash Sweet What a perfect way to start it was just like just boom. It's go time. Wow Yeah, that's one that that's been I never saw Hmm, I probably won't see I got to meet Steven Tyler and Nashville and and we were as like a meet and greet because my ex husband My first ex has been he was a concert promoter. So anyway, I felt about for Joey Kramer Because nobody was talking to him and he said he's Joey Kramer don't feel ever sorry for Joey F. Inkramer He's he's irritable. He's Joey Kramer And so Steven Tyler had a huge line and of course Perry had a big line, but the lady too people right in front of me Steven Tyler licked her whole face and then I said I want what she got and he's Any grabby and you're 16 no no no Married
Because it's been so Betty You have to start early if you're gonna get it. Yeah All right, I think we're good that we this all started with the envelopes of anguish Yeah, we've got to go and we got to get our hot topics in and all that kind of stuff We're off into that all right. Gold in the Athens Olympics and then silver in Beijing Why are you amazing to be in two Olympics? Yeah, just the little yeah Think but you're staying on top of your sport for all those years, right? I mean like my folks, but he'd do four didn't yeah crazy. Oh say this about women's softball It is a great television sport It's fun to watch it's a really yeah, it's it's a way different pace. Yeah, you got all our songs wrong genre Today is national babyback ribs day. Oh, okay. Did you know that we needed a day for that? Well, we have one. I guess we do 87 years ago today the year is 1939 Britain and France together They declared war on Germany. Ah, this two days after Germany invaded Poland
And then one thing led to another then old world's fight Everybody's like she and what a hitter Marla Hoogh Her photo was far away and all the others are like glamour shots Uh 34 years ago today we're talking about Prince It was on the stay in 1992 that prince became the highest paid rock star in history After signing a 100 million dollar deal with Warner Brothers records Ah 100 million dollars and it was but it was it was 10 albums. So it was like yeah, right It is 100 million you're obligated for 10 albums And then I think it was about after the third album. You got all pissed at them And then that's when he did he changed his name and tried to get out of the deal Did he get to keep the money?
