Live from the New America studio and brought to you by Northern Quest Resort in Casino. It's the Dave and Molly show. Welcome in, what an all. The Dave and Molly show is ready to go. We're feeling good. We're feeling strong. It's Thursday, hard charging into the weekend. Ready? Fantasy football seems to be my bag, baby. Seems as though doing very well. Because you have one player and you scored some points. You know what's funny? Me talking to my friends about my football situation because they get a glazed overlook. And then they say, have you seen any good shows lately? Like, it doesn't. Yeah. Did you get to see any of the game last night? I saw the last interview. No, I by the time I got home and what? Yes, I just saw the end to see I heard that Sam Donald got hurt. I heard that the new quarterback guy. He's a cute kid drew a lock. Yeah. He's a good. He may we may need him for a while.

Yeah. So yes. And your guy, the only player that really scored any real points was JSN, as they call him. Yeah. And he's on your team. And he gotcha up to an early lead. Yeah. So everything's fine. Looks great so far. And we got a win. Yes. Sometimes they're not pretty. But a win to win. And yet two stars of the game that were injured, we lost our quarterback. And on the fifth play of the game, which is, oh, yeah, that's the case. And then the Patriots lost their star receiver. I think it was like in the third quarter. So football season is officially underway. And we have a game tonight too in Australia. Well, that's right. Now who's playing tonight? The Rams in the 49ers. And I have a ram, but I don't have a 49er. I believe. See, now that's the only care about you now. What, what have you done? You've made me, but oh, no, no, I've lost my thing.

Anyway, I'll look at it later since I'm in the lead for now. Yeah, you're, you've no one has scored more points in the league than you have right now. That's right. And as of now, I'm also my survivor league is safe because they haven't played yet. Yeah. And my, I'm so far good on the pickups. Yeah, you picked the Seahawks to win. Yeah. They won. They did not cover, but that's okay. A win to win. Yeah, surviving advance. Keep moving. I lost all of my, I lost all of my stuff. I was so happy football was back. I bet you were. I thought about it. More on that a bit. Yeah, it was pretty, pretty great. The day started innocently enough. I was finishing up in here. And as I think you were witness to the, what I've said, the longer I stay in here, the longer the day can become because then we get some traffic going through here. And so I had, I had a couple of conversations from our, with our friends at K HQ here.

We talked about golf. We talked about the world of media. We talked about some so forth and some whatnot. Now I left, but you were done. You were pretty much done with your stuff. Pretty much done. But then how much longer did you stay? It would turn out to be a little while longer. Wow. Yeah. I did, I did get to hear John Fritz tell a story that was very entertaining. Yes. Very satisfying and entertaining. And it was a golf story. And you enjoyed the golf story. Oh, I enjoy a golf story. Yeah. It's fine. I enjoy a golf story, but that was funny. Yeah. He's funny guy. He is very fun. So yeah, so I had a couple of conversations. Then when I finally did leave here, driving home, windows open, another beautiful afternoon. And I pledged to my trusty loyal dog that I would get her out. We did a longer walk than we did the day before, which was, which was good. It was still, it was like less than an hour, but good. It was, it was great to be out. And we did the walk before, like the schools were out.

So it was fair, it was quieter. Because my plan was to get, get the, you know, get her a walk and then do some yard work. Because I had an empty bin. Oh, it's a bid day. Well, it was bid day only because of the holiday. It got pushed back a day. Right. So that gave me an extra day. So I mowed the yard and I did some edging. I sadly looked at the fallen library that is there. And the progress on there. No, no. But maybe this weekend, I need to, you know, I got to buy some stuff and I'll get it. Everything's going to be fine. It's going to be fine. Not fine now. Meanwhile, the sad little children that was going to, they were going to get library books. Yeah. Mommy, I brought, where did it go? Just, just stump. Some flowers on the bottom. But all around looks nice. That's good. So, so that was great. And then finished up. And then I had to, I had to shower because it was, I was a little grimy out there.

Actually during the walk, it was nice because I was, I was working up a little bit of a sweat, but there was a nice breeze. More of them a little bit. Too much of a breeze? No, not enough of it. I got a little overheated. It was hot. Oh, yeah. Yeah, it was surprisingly warm. Because when they drop the temperature on you, then they crank it back up. It feels, I don't do well in the heat anyway, but it just, I don't know, too hot. I felt very, very productive, but my whole target time was four o'clock, because four o'clock was going to be the pregame for the Seahawk game. Right. Well, I didn't make four o'clock. I got done, got done with everything, took a shower. Then I ran to the store. And actually there were a couple, a couple of people had little things going on for the, for the game, but it's like, it's, it's a Wednesday. At the time, I was all kind of grimy and everything. So it's like, I think it's just going to be me watching the game. But that did not stop me from getting a variety of meats and cheeses. For yourself.

For myself. Yeah. And what else did I get? Little wine. Some salsa. Oh, I had a whole bottle of wine. Yeah. It was great. Fantastic. I was very, very relaxed. And then just having a football back was wonderful. And then we were very, very relaxed. And then just having a football back was, was, was great. Nadine stopped over for, I think she got there. I think when she got there, it was 10, nothing. And then, you know, we rallied. You know, we were down to 10, nothing. End up winning the game. 13 to 10. Yeah. I think that's what it was. Yeah. So. But I, I mean, everything was great. And of course, I'm chatting about, I'm my own commentary. You know, I'm telling what should be happening. And then it does happen. How much does Nadine care and or know about football? She cares. Okay. She had some see how gear on.

All right. Yeah. Okay. But I, you know, I just, I always like to say what? Even if she were to know and care, but you'd still tell her what you think. Yes. Yes. And there were two, two times, I believe, I would say something. And then Chris Collins worth would say, he said, hey, you just said that. And I said, I know why that's what I do. That's why I'm Dave's planning it to you. Dave's planning. Yeah. So it was very exciting, although we're a little nervous about some of the injuries, but that's football. It's brutal sport, man. Yeah. Brutal. Dude, brutal. But, you know, mostly I'm winning in fantasy football right now. Yeah. You are. That's pretty good. Let's see how you do the first week when the ball went all the players have played. The whole thing is you just keeping your guys in your free. Yes. Yes. Who does anybody in our league have Sam Darnold? Is there a main player? I'm sure somebody does. I think I might have him as a backup in one of my leagues. I can't.

I don't like when I close. Here we go. I close a window. And then it goes away. And then I can't get back in. Do you want to hear the dramatic final moments of the C-Honk? Yes, please. Okay. And this is how it happened. I mean, the Patriots are marching down the field. They're in field goal range. They all they all they need to do is not screw it up. And they can kick a field goal. Then it's going to be 13-13. We're going to go into overtime. Okay. But did they do that? No. No. They're quarter back. Drake May. Uh, already had two interceptions in the fourth quarter. And then all he has to do is throw the ball away. But he doesn't throw the ball away. Oh. Here's what happens, Molly. Okay. Hang on. Here is May. Quick look was closed. Go right up in the air zone. Did he get the feet down? Yes. Oh, damn. A terrible decision. I can't believe that, bro. Song remains the same.

Seattle beats New England. In the 2026 kickoff game. Woo. So what was he supposed to do? He was, I thought he was throwing the ball away. But he threw it. And then our guy intercepts it. And then, you know, you hear Toreco say, did he get his feet down? He had, you know, he just get both feet downed in the end zone. And he just barely did and came over. Though if he had thrown the ball away, then they would have had a chance to kick it. Then all they would have known is kick it. And it was a short field goal, too. And then they would have been tied. Yeah. Sometimes mistakes are made, Mals. Well, as they said, that's a terrible decision. And I think I said that. I think I said, what an idiot. So it's like, like I could have done better. So anyway, yeah. So that's that's that's that. And then we have more exciting football actions tonight. Tonight's game is a Netflix game. Oh, okay. And it's in Australia.

All right. Yeah. So that was that. And I was feeling very, very good last night. And then it was nice because normally if you're, you know, if you're watching a late night game and you have a variety of meats and cheeses and you have wine, it's like, okay, well, then I got to get home and I got to do this. I got to do that. This time, I just stumbled off to bed. It's right. It's the beauty of the home cheese and cracker thing. Meat and cheeses. Variety of meats and cheeses. You buy one of those pre-made things. I did this time just because I knew it was like I'm not going to do any work to make it better. Yeah. You do vegetables too or just the meat and cheese. Just the meats and cheeses. The meats, cheeses and wine. Yes. Perfect. Yeah, that's all I need. That was literally was my dinner. And then Nadine came up. She made a big sensible salad. She had salad, sensible. I had the variety of meats and cheeses. Why she's her and you're us. That's cool. Why I mean.

Yeah. So, yeah, so I'm in the same boat you are. I did have in my other league and I'm playing my arch rival in the other league. I have the Seahawk kicker. And so he had two field goals and an extra point. So I have seven. So I'm ahead seven to nothing. Good. In the other league. Yeah. I believe in fact, it has to be those two players, your receiver, my kicker for the Seahawks. Those were the highest scoring people yesterday. They just were. Just one game. Because it was a low scoring game and you know, not not a lot of fireworks. But. Well. But right now. If we ended the whole fantasy football season. That's right. It was over. Yes. Who would win? I think you're not going to have a good. And you would be the highest scoring team in the league. That's all I wanted to know you are right now.

Thank you. And you don't have anybody playing tonight. I do I think. Oh, hang on a second. You have a ram or a 40. Oh, you said you had a ram, I think. Yeah. How do I go to my, let's see. What was your plan? How come everybody's like in they all are shadowed. Well, I don't know, I'll have to look at it. Anyway. So, and then I was trying to schedule a golf round and my friend Pete, you know, he will travel like three and a half hours, come here, play around and go from go home. Well, he's getting inducted into the Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday. Wow. So it's pretty cool. Yeah, the, it's there, the team, you know, when they, this goes back to 1981, I believe. Yeah. They, they made it all the way to the sweet 16 Idaho, you know. See, so it's going to be in the Hall of Fame. Yeah, the Idaho, it's the, I can't remember what the exact name of it is, but the, but the team is going in as a.

That's amazing. Yeah, so it's pretty cool. So I said, well, I'll give you a pass then. I don't want you to miss that one for the, you know, for the golf. But I did, I got, I got a lot done. We don't have many yard days left. You know, I just, can I opt out of the yard bin? Yeah. It is, you can opt out every year, every year. Well, I will use it for leaves though. That's when I will use it. Yeah, the fall time. Just don't use it. I know sometimes my neighbors, I'm saying, put your stuff in mind. Like that's. Yeah, I'll just put it up. According to your co manager, you guys have the Rams defense, which I believe you draft. That's right. Pretty early. That's right. Of course. So that and they're playing tonight. Right. So you need, you need the Rams to sack the quarterback. Yes. You need the Rams to maybe run a kickoff back or a punt back. Yes. You need to, you need the Rams defense to not let the 49ers score a whole lot of points.

Your defense can actually lose you points. How? If like the 49ers score like 50 or something. Right. That's not going to happen. No. Not going to happen. I forgot. I knew we had ran. I thought we had a Rams player to it. I thought we had one like a backup quarterback or something. I don't know. So I was like, home manager is watching out. It's going to be a good day today. I can we'll be coming in later in the show. And then we're going to talk more about the fair and its friends from Brown distillery. Yeah. So we're going to talk about them. Jen and Bob, we're going to talk about the speak easy and that we're going to be the first guests at the speak easy at the fair. That's pretty cool. And they've expanded it. They've got music. They've got all kinds of stuff. It's going to be super fun. Yeah. And by the way, this was shut down at nine o'clock. If you want to enter to win fair tickets, we have four pairs of tickets to give away. 509-448-3237. Just text the word fair F a I R. You'll be entered. You'll get an email or a text back that says you're in.

And then at nine, we'll shut it down and then they'll randomly draw four people to win fairs a ticket. Pretty good for us. Yeah. So yeah, yesterday I left you. I was very full when I left here. We had a giant breakfast. Oh, that's right. That's why I wasn't that hungry. That's all I needed the rest of the day was the bride of meat and cheeses. Yes. It was it was full. It was good though. Not rosy. That was a good choice. But mine was like healthy, you know, keen one and egg white and all kinds of vegetables and stuff. And it was it was very good, but it was very filling. So I left here. Home doggy gets a walk and I had to throw some laundry. But she she just knows when I walk through the door that it's happening. And even she just there's something about my energy. And I was trying to play it very cool because I wanted to do a few things. I needed to get dishes done. I needed to get laundry done. So I'm just like, do do do do do do do and she's looking at me. And when she starts to do the yawn with the she'll do it.

I don't she does this whole thing. I'm like, oh no, she's on to me already. I haven't put my shoes on. They do. Dogs always know. They know. So she's thinking home early. Perfect day. She seems full. She's not cranky. Everything's going my way. Here's the thing. And I love my dog. But why must she take a dump in the most public place? Oh no. She does this thing and she waits until we are out on Northwest Boulevard. And I know people are seeing you know, it's humiliating. You're picking up after dog. I know you don't have to deal with it. And not only so so I can tell because she's really she's sniffing. She's trying to play still. Yeah, she's ready to let loose. So and we had already had the pig poop in the studio. It was already a poop day. So we get out. I take her out on to Northwest Boulevard. We're going to go on the ridge. She used to have a place where she would wait until we kind of got around this little corner. And it was a community patch of grass where anybody could go.

Well, now she's decided this neighbor, this one neighbor. And they're you know, I clean up after myself. But it is right where everybody is zooming by us. And now I have to manage her. So I don't want her to go in traffic. Right. And I'm balancing and I'm picking up. And I mean, it was a on slot of it was just like the amount was it was heavy. It was a lot. So I'm picking it up trying to get all the pieces. Now I got in the bag. So now it's the walk of shame to the nearest trash can. And I've got a big old pilot crap in my hand. And I'm doot doot doot. So we drop that off. Then we go. And then she does another big. Oh, no. You have to do you have to do you have to do that? You have five. You're ready for anything because sometimes they're out of hand and you need it. That's a double. And so I got to have a lot of them. We only were out for a half an hour and she was able to do that. But I got over heat. I had a black shirt on. I had shorts on. But I was hot like uncomfortably hot. It was it was warmer than I think there was some humidity in the air.

Yes. So it was kind of cloud cover. It was good good good day to be out time. Yeah. So I got home and got some paperwork done. And it's just things I had to do. And the plan was I'm going to pick up Mary downtown at her apartment at 10 after 4. Well, it's 130. I've already walked the dog. I've eaten plenty of it. What happens now? What happened? I had a west. I had a west for a little while broke even. Even. That's good. Yeah. I was there an hour and a half. But I'll tell you what. When you leave the West Plains at 340. Oh, yeah. You hit a big amount of traffic. It's it goes faster than you think, but it is. There's just a lot on hayford road and stuff. So I pulled up to her. She lives at the W apartments now. And I pulled up and it's so crazy being downtown. I don't know. I've never known anybody who lives downtown. That's just not a thing we do here. Baby. Yeah. It's like crazy downtown.

So I find this little sparking spot. She comes in and we have to go to a meeting. And then we go to the comedy club to see Ali Wong. She is hilarious. And the guy who opened for her is also a headliner. So it was like two headliners. I don't know what Mary paid for the tickets, but you don't get to see her. They both have Netflix specials. Both the guy who opened for her and her. And she's trying out material. So that's why she's in Spokane. She'd never been to Spokane. So she's very funny about it. She goes. She'd never been here. She goes. I've never been to Spokane. She goes. So I'm very confused. I'm thinking it's near Portland. It's not. I'm thinking it's near Olympia. It's not. It's near nowhere fun. It is near and we're laughing. We're all laughing because it's like well, she said, but it's so beautiful here. And they liked our little town. That show was sold completely out. And then the next one, she said there were some tickets left. But on our way in, we noticed you know how there's the arcade. Right. Well now in between there. I think it's called Lilac.

Not hang on. I got to get the name right. My daughter went to the late show. Yeah. She tried to get tickets for the earlier show. Yeah, but it was sold out. But I want to get the name of this place because everybody needs to know about this place. It's called hang on a second. It's there's a bar there. It's called Lilac Room. So here's the arcade. Here's the Lilac Room. Here's the comedy club. Okay. Here's the deal. You have tickets. You go in 45 minutes an hour before the show. Let's say you go in. You have drinks. You have upscale food. They check you in at that point. So now you have your seating assignment. Because you know, they'll say we were in Echo 9 last night. So once you come in and it's in order of how you get there. Well, you pre-check in. So now what they're going to do is you get to go get your seats at the very last minute. But you know you've had a reserve seats. Okay. You don't have to wait outside in the cold or in the heat. And the place is so cool.

It's beautiful. So I'm looking in and there's a guy standing there and he said, well, why don't you check it out. And and Mary and I we didn't want to lose our place. And he said, I'll hold your place in line. Go go check it out. And I said, what are you? What are you on the place? He said, yeah. And I said, oh, you do. And he said, and I will not place and I will not place. And I said, well, I'm Molly Allen. Hello. And it's nice to meet you. Well, there's a couple of things that are really cool. I know that I've been here since the last seven. And so we chatted and he was telling us all about it. And it is really cool because that's the one thing they haven't had there is a place to, you know, you can eat when you get in there. But this is a pre-funx place besides the arcade. But the beauty of it is you don't, you're, your place has worked together. You've checked it and he said, then, even during the show, there's music. They'll be music at the lilac room. And he said, you can't hear the tune of music. Yeah, live music there. And he said, you can't hear the comedy show. You can hear that. Bob's your uncle. It was pretty cool. I was pretty impressed. So we were chatting with him. He's a very nice guy.

What's your name? What kind of food you have? Well, I had the Richard Pryor hot dog. We didn't go to the Lilac room. Fire hot dog. We just ordered. We didn't know about the Lilac room till we got there. Oh, that was all brand new. We were in line. So, and we had a meeting right up against it. So, yeah. So we're looking over the menu and it was between that and like the Joan Rivers or something. So I get the. So all the food items are named after a comedian? Yeah, at least the hot dogs are. So I just, you know, so here was my eating yesterday because I had that giant breakfast. Then later in the afternoon, well, right before I went out west, I had a piece of fried chicken that I reheated from the other day and some slaw. And then I have a giant hot dog and potato chips and a non-alcoholic beer because I was driving. I eat like what? I got to stop that. Like that's not. And it's just, I felt bad for the ladies who were sharing our table because it is like slathered. They're just having cocktails. And here I have the stinky smelly giant hot dog.

And it was all over. I was eating it like a prisoner. I didn't care. I was very hungry at that point. And I had like stuff all over me. I wouldn't say a hot dog is stinky and smelly. Well, it had onions on it and relished and ketchup and mustard. Mm-hmm. So. But you ordered it. I ordered it and it was delicious. It was delicious. So anyway, we enjoyed that. And then on the way back, I parked in front. I had to run up to her apartment. I got to see her apartment. And it's cool. It's got like windows on either side. And the thing is though, it's loud downtown. And she said that's taking some getting used to it because she's used to being out. She was in the, not in the trail, but like really quiet. Her backyard was the state park. And now she said the cars that go downtown, those big with the mufflers. And she said there was some kind of music festival that went on all weekend, less weekend. And she said until like midnight, music is blasting. That's the only problem with living downtown.

But the apartment is cool. And I said, this is city living. She got a little balcony. She said, What's the view of like with the balcony? She looks. So she looks sort of south east. She's on the southeast corner. So across the street it's just a like office. But then she can kind of see out. I imagine sunrise is very pretty. So it probably comes up. I thought it was really cool. But anyway, dropped off. That time I got home, turned on the game, but it was over. And then I watched the rest of that toxic love story because I hadn't seen the end. Oh, right. And yeah, now I know how it ends. And that guy's a POS for sure. What is POS stand for, Mals? Pretty awful shirt. Pretty awful shirt. Pretty awful. Oh, yeah. Pretty awful. Dang it. That's a P.A. That's right. So. So how long did Ali Wong, was it like usually about an hour, a little over an hour?

So that she's on stage? Yeah, we got started six. And I think we're out of there by seven, 30. And that included an opener. Yeah. So she was maybe on an hour, but we were saying, with comedians, I can't take much more than an hour because you're laughing. You're actively laughing so hard. And she had some really funny stuff and some really filthy stuff. She's, she's filthy. Wasn't as filthy as one of the others that I remember seeing on Netflix because Ken and I watched one of her specials. And I remember turning it off because I was just like, this isn't even funny. It's so gross and so graphic. But this was way funnier. She had more observational stuff and then the fills. And this was her only night, right? She's not doing. I think that's right. I think it was just, and I guess she's never been to Spokane and the guy in front of her. He was funny too because he had never been to Spokane and he was just like, he was very, very low key, but he was, he was funny.

And he said, yeah, you're getting like two headliners on a night. And then he said, I have a Netflix special. So if you want to see, like, I really good stuff, he goes, cause this is just like me. But like that is really cool. Well, he sold himself well. Yeah. He was pretty good. So anyway, then, and then I had to have a cleanser of a Brady Bunch episode as one does. And then, then I stayed up a little later than, because I didn't get home till after eight all of a sudden, you know, normally I'm winding down and I was still awake. I don't think I went to bed till after 10. It's just late. Oh, you were way later than me. Yeah. But I did consume a lot of football stuff. What all the pregame, that was good. Watch the game and then I switched over to ESPN and then they always have the, you know, they have a recap and they'll have the, you know, post conference with the coaches and it's back. Football is back. It's back. So here, I've just sent the menu. So they have the Bernie Mac hot dog, the George Carlin,

the Joan Rivers, Lucio Ball. Oh, yeah. Freedom chips on it. The Mitch Hedberg, I don't know who that is, Richard Pryor is one I had, the Robin Williams and the Rodney Danger Fields. I almost had the Rodney Danger Field, because I like Sauer Krow. Sam Adams, when we were on the set at K HQ, he referenced, he had a Rodney Danger Field line. What was that? From Caddy Shack. Oh. Ever the line. Oh, but it looks good on you, though. That's, yeah, Mary had some, I think they said they were out of the Bernie Mac. There was something they were out of last night. And now I think the Bernie Mac, but they do a good job. But the nice thing is next door is a little more upscale. It's like stuff that, you know, I think that they've got a good thing going there. That's super smart, especially for the winter. Well, I know we support, we as a community, as I spoke about, the way we can is a very friendly, comedy town. Yes.

So we get better shows than a city our size should probably get. But that's great. We're supporting it. Well, Tiffany. And you supported it last night? Yes, I did. Tiffany had us just coming in a couple of weeks. And that's what I want to talk about, because she's got some foster youth stuff. She's got an organization that buys suitcases for kids who are aging out. And so I wanted to get in touch with her people and just see if we could, you know, partner on something or whatever. And so I met the right person last night. Yeah. It was by chance, too. He just happened to walk up and say, why don't you look inside? And your phrase was, what do you do on the place? Yes. Well, yes, I do. Awesome. What are you the owner? Yes. He goes, and do I own that? Yes. And do I own that? I do. I said, oh, well, this is excellent. I said, I do a podcast. My name is Molly. Used to be Dave Kentemolli. Now it's just Dave and Molly. We do a podcast. He goes, oh, yeah, we used to do stuff with you. And he used to bring all the comics into the other station. So anyway, it was kind of fun. Our town is bustling. It was very active downtown.

And when I pull up, she's right next to that. What's the sports bar? It has to do with slaps, shots, or something. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like Riverside and. Yeah. Right next door to the M. So they have outside seating. And the Seahawks game is blasting out of that place because it's a sports bar. But it still didn't get to watch any. Sorry. Sorry. See, that's the beauty. I can just not watch and win. Yeah. Well, good. Oh, it was good to have football back though. Oh, my goodness. Back. Back in a very big way. Oh, and that Duncan commercial. Yeah. It aired. Yeah, it was on. Yeah. So you get to see that. That's good. Yeah. Well. And then we have our friends at KHQ. They were on before and after. Oh, that's good. Yeah, it's good night to. Have a Seahawk game on your channel. And I did one more day of football trivia. Oh, good. Half of it is football.

Half, five questions or football questions today? Well, four. OK. Four questions. But it's not. It's like, yeah, yeah, it's you're going to need to kind of know about football. Yeah. Sorry. That's the last time I'll do this. This is just for the celebration of this. Since we're kicking off the season. Yes. And then envelopes a bangwish later. Yes. Of course. Yeah. Yeah. If we want to. Mm-hmm. The envelopes of anguish. Yeah. Well, you learn about the fair. Ken's coming in. Yeah. And then if you want to play the showdown, let us know. And again, as Molly, she's pre-warned everybody. Yes. There will be some football questions scattered in the 10 questions that you'll have. So don't be set. Don't be upset. Don't call it in here and say, oh, no. I don't know about football because you're been pre-warned.

Pre-warned. Pre-warned. We have the news of the day coming up here in just a bit, including the story that we talked about on K HQ this morning, the loudest and quietest states. We, 48 states in the country in general have louder sound than what we, what is healthy according to the experts. All right. Now, some states are even louder than that. We'll tell you where they are and what can be done about them. Oh, boy. OK. Oh, yeah, it's an interesting deal. And then there's a meal time habit that's causing friction between couples. It's something called eating fast, speed eating. I saw a guy in a car yesterday as I was leaving the casino and he had some noodles of some sort. And he was in his car and while driving. No, no, no, he was parked in front. And he kids in the back, they were waiting for somebody. And you know how I joke about the shoveling the prisoner. He's seriously.

Like he was, his next bite was coming before he even got the rest. He was like, it was a shovel. And I thought, well, where is he going? What's happening with him? He seems like he's panning, but talk about fast eating. Yeah. That was. I think it's causing problems in America's households. OK. We'll report. You can design. All right. And then Dennis say not to make these mistakes while brushing your teeth. Oh, great. Now we're missing that up too. Yeah, a lot of stuff we mess up. Got some other cool stuff too in the news of the day. So we will get to that. Ken will be joining us today to clock. We also have our visitor from the fair. That'll be early around 730, right? OK. And no pig poop today. If you haven't seen the pig from yesterday, go back and download it on YouTube or whatever. But there's quite a scene in here. Yes. And as soon as we get off the air, our friend Ken, who's the maintenance person here, he greeted me with a can of lice awe.

Yeah. Think he heard us talking about it. I think he saw any saw my urgent email that said, do you have any lice awe? And there was a little bit of a smell in here. But there was no pig droppings that hit anywhere on the carpet because the pig was in a giant wagon type thing. But she peed in. She did all of the stuff that she does. But she was cute. She was eating carrots and stuff. But today we're going to talk about alcohol. Yeah. That's a little more of my. Way better. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe they'll have some samples. We can have off the air. Get all tanked up on Thursday. Sure. We only have one more day to make it through the week. And then another three day weekend for us. Isn't it beautiful? Programming note, three day weekend for us. Sorry. We're off on that. That's what's happening. All right. Let's do a break here. When we come back, we'll get to the news of the day. Again, we'll talk about the interstate fair, which opens tomorrow. That's pretty cool.

We'll get to that. Ken will join us in the eight o'clock hour as well. This is the David Mollyshow from the New America studio. We now return to the David Mollyshow. Hey, welcome back everybody. David Mollyshow continues. It's Thursday, hard charging into the weekend. Yes. A three day weekend for us. Three day weekend. I have an update on our walk situation. Oh. Well, the good news is you and I'll be there. OK. John's going to be there. OK. H will be there. Ken will be there. We're going to the casino. We need more walkers. Oh, yeah. I know that doesn't surprise me. I know. Do you think people want to walk eight and a half miles through? No. Questionable areas?

No, I was I remember I think I said. I don't even know if I said it on the air. But I know I said it in the studio that if we have four or five people, I'll be, you know, but we have four or five people. Well, that's that's that I believe that is fine. I think more people will come walk with us. And then I'm thinking, what if we shift it? What if we just make it a party bus now? And the people who didn't sign up are going to go, wait, I thought it was walking. I didn't want to do that, but I do want the party bus. Well, two latest just five of us on the party bus. Woo. No, we got a walk. That's part of the deal. I think it's still a fail on the walking. I also think that there's still time because people want to look for the weather. They want to make sure. Oh, it could be. So anyway, it's free to sign up. You go to davidmollymarch.com and you can sign up for free. I think 10 would be a high number for the, you know, to, to, to, because it's a commitment. It is. It is a commitment. And it's the middle of the week. It's Wednesday, September 23rd, you know, and like from like noon to three.

Yeah. And it's eight and a half miles of walking. It could be great. I'm a little concerned about my foot, but other than that, everything's fine. I think I got a backup golf cart would be good. That's in case, probably some lime scooters along the way. If things, that's a good idea. Things get really rough. That's a good idea. No, it'll be fun. I'm excited. It's going to be great. Just a reminder. I just got a text from Tiffany, which is why she just, you know, she said it's, uh, here's your Yehu list. It's a thing. So, people are committed. That's good. Great. We'll talk about the news the day. This is what we talked about on K HQ this morning. What they call the loudest and quiet estates in America. New studies set out to find which states have noise issues. Well, spoiler alert, almost all of them do. Really? Almost every state is too loud by the, what they call the like a EPA standard for noise. The houseiness. Yeah. They analyzed national transportation noise data to determine which states were the loudest.

This would be cars, trains, planes. They also reviewed average noise levels by postal codes. Not just traffic, it includes everything. Fireworks, entertainment, sports, construction. Oh, yeah. They found that the big state of Texas, not only one of the larger states, it's also the loudest. See, I would have thought just by just because in New York City alone, that New York would be the loudest because it is, if you haven't been in New York in a long time, and you go stay at a hotel in Manhattan, you forget how loud it is. Right. And it's all night long. It never stops. But here's what I would say. Yes. Because I lived in New York for a while, but I didn't live in the city. Right. There's other parts of New York. That's right. Very quiet. Very quiet. So maybe it balances it out. New York is still, I think, it's in the, in the top 10 of loudness.

But it's Texas, Nevada. That makes sense. Maybe Las Vegas. Las Vegas is another place. It's just crazy all the time. California, Illinois, Florida. Here's the thing about Las Vegas that I appreciate is that when you were in your hotel room, it is soundproof. That yes. They did such a good job there. You never know what's going on down. And other cities don't do that. I remember being in Chicago. We were on the 15th or 16th floor, and we could hear down, it was four in the morning, where I could go to the fly home. We could hear somebody having an argument down at the front of the hotel. You could hear them all the way up, which is different. I think in Vegas, they knew like we had a soundproof everything because otherwise nobody has sleep. And you got to get them asleep. You got to get them asleep. They can wake up and spend money in the morning. That's right. That's all part of their plan. Connecticut is the quietest state in the country. Who knew that? Not one I wouldn't have guessed, but Vermont, New Hampshire, Montana, those were all quiet

or states and they show up on that to me makes sense. Montana makes total sense. Big sky country, you know? Yes, beautiful there. Don't you want to know the things that Dennis may not tell you, but you should know, so you don't make brushing mistakes? Yes. Got it right here. Okay. Okay. Number one, not brushing for a full two minutes. Oh. So two minutes total and at least 30 seconds in each quadrant. And if you have one of those fancy, you know, electric, it'll time it for you. So you'll do it. Oh, really? And it goes, and then you go to the next quadrant and it goes, you do, you do, you do, and it shuts off. Wow. I didn't know that. Those are the really fancy ones. Yeah. Forgetting to brush your teeth before bed at night is the most important time to brush your teeth because at night, we make less saliva, which helps to neutralize the acid. So nighttime brushing extra important. Yes. I cannot sleep if I don't brush my teeth.

Oh, boy. That's part of my routine, part of my ritual. Absolutely. Yeah. Rinsing after brushing. I've heard this, but I cannot have a hard time with this. I've heard that you should leave it. Sometimes I'll get the special, like, I don't know, it's a special toothpaste that has extra, what's the stuff that helps fight cavities. All right. Yeah. And then they say, don't rinse, put your mouth guard because I have retainers. They said, just leave it and then put your retainers and let it all soak in. Hard to do. I find it hard to do. I like to rinse clean. Yeah, I do too. There's another one on here that's weird to me too. We'll get to that in a minute. Missing parts of your teeth. They say you need to brush the front sides back and the chewing area. Plack height everywhere. Yes. There's no way you must get all the blackout. And then they say, flossing after you brush.

See, I disagree with that. I do too. Ken does it afterwards. I think that is wrong. I think you could floss after as well, but I definitely think you got to give a good floss before you brush. They say before is, I think this is saying, do it twice, which I don't know. I don't get that. The most important time to floss is before. Oh, okay. Good. That part is good, but they're also talking about an after thing too. And I just don't do that. Well, I can see sometimes if you feel, you know, I've got different dental work in those little places that I know food can get trapped. So I have to pay certain attention to that. So sometimes I'll go back to those areas and make sure everything got out. But but but you always floss before you brush, right? See, but then Ken does it after. I think that's it. Well, this is saying it like like twice in the same session. And I don't. Well, it's a lot. You're asking a lot of people.

And then another thing, forgetting to clean your tongue, the tongue holds lots of bacteria. So don't forget about the tongue. Clean the tongue. Oh, he's got the tongue. And they say recommend they recommend a stop chewing sugary gum. Yeah. They suggest switching to a sugar free gum instead. You know, I really I used to chew lots of gum. I can count the amount of pieces of gum I've had in the last five years. And it's I mean, maybe I chew gum three times a year, maybe. I just don't chew gum. And I used to chew it all. I had to have a thing of extra that meant to you, the one with the crystals in it. Like I always had gum with me. And I just don't I'm a gum person. Yeah. But you have the special gum. I have the special gum. That's different. And collize a gum. Sure. Yeah. She's she's gum all the time. But I think I do think the sugar free gum is actually good for you. I think it it like it works stuff out of your teeth.

Yeah. But not the sugary kind. Mm hmm. Yeah. Well, now we know I guess we've been screwing that up too. These people. You want to know what's what's causing problems in American marriages right now? Yes, Dave. Do help. Because you've had so many. Yeah. No, there's something it's eating speed. Okay. But it's the difference in you're supposed to have a partner that eats in the same time frame that you do. Right. And like the classic case that they say is a problem is and they're picking on the guys. The guy eats so fast and then he's just sitting there well. His partner is eating slower and that's that causes friction. They say. Oh, yes. Who saw that coming? I can I can see that being a problem. Can and I are really good match that way, which is great because we're usually watching a show and sometimes he's even a little slower than I am.

And I'm a pretty slow eater, but but we match up well. But I in one of my previous administrations, not only would the food be gone, but the take the plate would be in the sink and the person would be on the couch watching TV. And I'm still eating. Well, that didn't go over well. Did it wasn't the best? Wasn't the best. This administration. That means that's no longer an existence. Yeah. And it wasn't just me sitting at that. It was at a time where I had lots of, you know, bodies in the house. So it wasn't like I was just left by myself, but that person exited and went back to the TV and it was like, so I should just clean a cook. So I got it. Let me know. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, you're, you're fine. The new article talks about eating speed and it's gaps in relationships where one person essentially scarfs down their meal while the other person takes leisurely bites. Small gaps, they say, aren't noticeable, especially if the meal is stretched out, but the

bigger gaps can disrupt the vibe and the comfort level at the dinner table. Sure. That's then they say it is a thing. My mom tells a story about my, my grandma was an etiquette teacher. So she was very proper. Well, I got you should always know that. Other grandma. My mom's mom. So she would have everything set and my grandpa worked in a tire shop. You know, he was tired, he was hungry and he just wanted food in his belly and there's six wild, triple to kids, right? So my grandma would sit down and the meal would be there and it was like, like a free brawl and she just be so, wait, having her little bites and my mom said she felt back because it was just, it was never, it was wild. It was pack wild dogs is what they were. And they just would devour everything. She'd be sitting there. But Jack Bannon was the slowest eater I've ever been around. And he, back in the day when you could light up a cigarette at your own dining room table, this is in the 80s. He'd say, please smoke.

I'm just going to finish. We're like, cause usually you never smoke while somebody's eating. That was kind of etiquette thing too. And we're like, okay, cause he would just, he enjoyed every single bite. They say that that's what you're supposed to do. So much better for him. And you usually it's thinner people that are doing that. Jack Bannon. He was healthy. He chewed, he chewed every bite. He enjoyed everybody. He enjoyed everybody and he chewed it down to, he didn't swallow big chunks of stuff. The end of my brother eats fast. So that was always like, I'm fast too. Yeah. I'm kind of middle of the road. I can't eat super fast, but I'm also not like, you know. They say eating at different paces could indicate a necessary balance in the relationship where one person may move through the world a little more slowly while the other may go with a little more vigor. Yes. That's that.

And they say a lot of it is about conversation too. Yeah. If you guys are eating at the same rate, you're able to communicate better. Yeah. It might be a thing. I have a girlfriend who can eat it shockingly fast rate. And if it's we're all there and it's like, oh, shockingly fast. Like, oh, the place being handed off. I'm shocked. I'm like, oh, my God. What happened? From a girl, it's interesting because usually that's not the case. Usually the boys are. Yes, if to stereotype that would be absolutely agreeable. We take our time a little more. That hot dog got in me pretty fast. Although at the comedy club, how they do it is that there's four seats at a table. But Mary and I were in the front seats and then these other two gals were in the back seats. So it's a square table. So we're both. So when I went to take a bite, my head's going in front of the person. She's sitting sort of here. They can't not see you. Right.

And I was really trying to be considerate of the, I just from her perspective, I thought what she's seeing is this massive amount of stuff on top of a smelly hot dog. And then me scooping up the extras with the chips and the chips are kind of loud. And then the hot dog is messy. And I'm in her space. How far were you from the stage? We were at the front of the second at the walkway. You know the walkway that divides it. So there's maybe eight tables or maybe eight or nine deep and then we're the back. Actually, we were the ninth back because we were echo nine or something like that. So we were then there was people behind us. So we got pretty good seats. There was nobody like we had total leg room and stuff in front of us. But those servers work their butts off, man. And they have to do it fast and they have to be. And they got a beast K love to stay low while they're delivering stuff. They have to stay low. They have to be quiet. And then they do like the, okay, it's anybody, you know, they're doing this to everybody.

And then they have to get because the turnover, they got to turn that whole thing. And then they get to the place around for the next show. Yeah. They get everybody the heck out of there. Pretty good machine they have going there. I'm, it's a, they did do a good job at that place. But anyway, I ate the dog faster than I would have because I wanted to put her out of her misery. I wanted that part of the show to end for her. The hot dog. It was really good though. There was a deal on social media yesterday. Some common knowledge that people got wrong. Okay. Penguins are birds. Apparently, some people thought penguins were in the fish family. Oh. And we're not going to, I'm not going to judge any of these because there's, there's a couple on here that's like, oh, I didn't know that. Okay. All right. But that's one thing. Well, you know, I kind of knew that one. The Beatles, the band The Beatles is a play on the word beat.

Like a beetle, a bug is spelled differently. But beat like beetles. Right. Like it was the, keeping the beat. So that was, that was just the way they did that. Got it. So that's, that's kind of. Because Beatles, the Beatles be eat. Right. Said be it, be it be at least. Right. That was from the movie. Remember that the be at least because it was the winters. Said of the wonders, the oneators, the own, the owners, yeah, said the wonders. Yeah. Pineapples grow from plants on the ground and not on trees. Okay. A lot of here's, here's the one I didn't know. See if you know it. Okay. A lot of people had no idea that chicken tenders are short for. Chicken. I don't know. Chicken tenderloins. Oh. Yes. Yeah.

No idea. I didn't know that. Pickles are cucumbers. Okay. Yeah. So we knew that. Raindeers are real animals. Yeah. Not just sand and sellpers. Yes. I went to a reindeer farm one time. They're cute. Yeah. And they, they, they gave you like a little bowl full of food to feed them. All the thing is they swarm like you're, you're trapped. You're in a sea of reindeer and they are aggressive little creatures. Oh my gosh. Yeah. And there's another one. Maybe you know this from your world of horses ponies are not baby horses. Right. They're breed. Yeah. Yeah. I don't think a lot of people know that. Really? Yeah. But they never get bigger. They don't need to stay the same. Well, but we, but if you don't, if you don't know that and you only see them, you don't know. You're gone. You're only a CM one time. You're not like monitor their, their growth.

I guess. Um, they say this is a very common that people don't know. Ponies are their own type of horse. Yeah. And a baby horse is called a fold or a filly. Full or full. Full. Yeah. FOAL. We had my my little pony Sally. She was a pony and she was, I think she lived to be 32 maybe. I don't like that. She's pretty good for a horse. She and she was before we got her a championship barrel racer horse. She could fly through there. She was really, really good. Not with me on board, but with other people on board. And she was the best. She was so sweet. But she, yeah, she was just, um, but then I'm fortunate. And she, when night, there was a wind storm. No. And all the, um, the horses were going crazy. And the Tennessee Walker stud who lived in one of the other things. The fence got blown over and he got to her.

Oh, he got to her big time. And she was just a little girl. She's like, and he's a big old, uh, bay like a, kind of a red Tennessee Walker horse. My dad's girlfriend had these two beautiful Tennessee walkers. And if you've ever written on one of those, they're pretty amazing horses because they just have this like, it's really, really cool. But a Tennessee Walker and a pony, not the best combo. Like nobody's on the market for, I'd really like to see a Tennessee Walker and a pony, not a Shetland pony, just like a regular pony. Well, anyway, she gives birth to quirky, uh, this, hey, he was trying it. I felt so bad for him. I was like, geez, geez, there's something horse coming out of this little girl. So quirky had a cork tail. That's why we called him quirky. He went on to become a champion because my dad's girlfriend's daughter took him and trained him. And he was like a rodeo champ because she was a really good horse person. So it turned out okay, but I felt bad for her because she was just a pony.

How, what's the, how long are horses pregnant? That is a very good question. And I'm not sure. I think it's less, less time. We had the wind storm and then they all, something's happening and then several months later. And my dad knew it. He said, my God, them son of a, he's out there. And then the wind is, Spartan, it was Spartan and Jericho or one anyway, she had banner and Spartan, Spartan got to her. We had, it was craziness. We had like 13 dogs with eight horses. It was crazy on the rant. But anyway, that's the story of Sally. She was just a little pony and she was pregnant. Oh my God, her belly was just huge. And she's looking at us like, why would you let him do that to me? I just, I'm a pony. And I think that was her only baby that she had too. But Sally was a good pony. We loved Sally. That's my story about Sally. I like that. That's good story.

I wonder what if people on the text line know about you? What's a group of ponies called? Oh, I don't know. It would be like a trivia question. A parade of ponies. Oh, and people want to know how it smells in the studio today. Everything is fine today. There was, I could smell something yesterday in here. Yeah. Even though nothing hit the ground from the pig. But there was kind of a thing. Yeah, it was a little, it was a little barnyard in here. There's a smell to a barnyard animal. They just have a smell. So I could dirt smell. Or since they're 11 months pregnant. OK. Or Sally. OK. I was enjoying my coffee. Oh, thanks to my win against Molly.

This is Lisa. She checked in. She got her thing. Oh, Dutch bros. Yeah, Dutch bros. We do need someone to play the show down in a little bit, too. Jean is waiting to see what the weather is like before she comes all the way from Bellingham to walk with us. Wow. That is quite a commitment to drive all the way and then walk. That's a very good person. That is a very good person. Now, here's something for you. Without instructions. Yes. Could you sew a button, change a tire, change a baby's diaper? Yes. Those are just a few of the things. Could you cook white rice? Yes. Could you, well, those are the ones. That's it? Well, they give you some. Well, without instructions, you know what? With the white rice, I was on a roll of doing white rice a lot. And I could then, but actually right now, if you said, go cook right, I would have to look for how much water to the thing. The diaper for sure, the button is going to look horrible, but I

would do it. I tried to do it and it was a debacle. I mean, I made it work, but yeah. I know basically what to do. But the tire thing, I believe you get the jack and you jack it up first, right? But I don't know where to put the jack. Well, you've got to loosen the nuts on the thing before you jack it up. Oh, you do. Oh, yeah, because you need the tension to hold it. You need the tire to sit. OK. That's one of the things. I should try to change the tire. I remember I had a blow out on the highway and Ken came and changed it for me. I don't know why I didn't call AAA. You also had a blow out before it came to work one day. In the pants. Do you get it? They say 73% of people could on the spot cook white rice. OK. 17% said they probably could. And then there was everybody else that said no, OK, it's a non-starter.

Changing a baby diaper, this is just an experience thing, really. Yes. Two thirds of people say they could definitely do it on the spot. About 15% could not. Speaking of cooking stuff, so this comic that opened for Ali Wong last night, he said he was talking about beans. He goes, he was talking about how he likes to cook stuff. He goes, how many of you have cooked beans from scratch? And there was like a, it goes really. So the first thing about beans is like you have to find the rocks. So when you, you know, you buy beans in a bag, there's definitely going to be rocks in there somewhere. So your first order of business is to soak the beans and get rid of the pebbles and the rocks. That's just the thing. I only know this because I've been around people who have done this. You have cooked beans from scratch, but he said you can either go to the store and buy a can of beans for $1.29 or you can spend nine hours making them. And it's true. It's one of those things that, but there's always little teeny pebbles, especially like if

you buy, I don't know, black beans or whatever, if you buy them loose like that, you got to soak them and get all the sediment out. It just made me laugh because I've witnessed that before, but that's what comics do. They bring something to you that you already knew, but when they pointed out in a group of people, you're all having that common experience. And that's the genius of these comics. It's very funny to me, but anyway, I don't know that I would do that. I don't think I've ever cooked beans before. I'm a person that would just buy the can. Absolutely. I have witnessed it with people trying to make fancy chili. Hey, buy the beans. I suppose it's better, but I don't know. A group of ponies can be called a string, especially when they're owned by an individual. A group of ponies can also be called a as other equine groups like herd, a rag or so on.

A rag of ponies. I don't like that. That's not enough. I say a pleasant tree of ponies. There I've renamed it. I think I like your term better. Sewing a button. This one's tough for people. Just barely more than half can do it. Makes me feel a whole lot better. Yes. I did it, but it didn't look very good. And it didn't last very long either. I think it went three times, and then it was back to... Was it one of those on the top of your... Yeah, it was one of these. Not this shirt, but it was one kind of like that. Maybe after the right... You're going to match the color of the thread. Here's the problem. We ran into the last time I tried to... I was going to sew something neither can or I could get the needle threaded. Oh, yes. Couldn't do it. You need a lot of light. I think what we... I think next time what I would do is the magnifier on my phone. And then look at it through that.

I just couldn't get it. I would... But then you need someone to hold the phone for you because you're... Yes, exactly. Just barely, over half could do a sew-button on the spot. Twenty percent said they could not do it. Absolutely not. And then changing a tire. Don't feel bad if you can't change a tire. Only 39 percent of people say they could change a tire right on the spot. Yeah, I don't believe I could do that. I can do it, but it's going to take way longer than someone that really knows what they're doing. That's why I keep Triple A always. Just in case. Yeah. We were on our way to San Francisco and I was so excited to get to San Francisco. I started my little Miata. It was all happy. Yeah, this is so great. And somebody had a blowout on the highway. On the four-up big, the big... I don't know if it's the four or five, but it's whatever it is that goes... Two San Francisco and... It was huge, freeway.

And my boyfriend, Bob at the time, decided he was going to pull over and help this person change their damn tire. Oh no. And I'm thinking of all the people. Why us? Like, they probably have Triple A and it's a dude. And we're delaying our San Francisco trip and we're having this wonderful time. And I felt like a selfish person for feeling that way. I did. I felt so... How long did it take him to change a tire? I don't know too long. Too long. We're on the side. It was scary. Yeah. You're on the side of the road and that's half the thing that's scary about the whole tire trip. Anyway, the whole trip didn't go very well. That was the start of it all. Then the question comes up. How confident are you assembling a key of furniture, even with instructions? I don't know about that. I don't know that I've had a lot of a key of furniture. Or just like, well, like a little library thing. It's a whole thing.

It's one sheet, one instruction sheet. It's got pictures on it, but still, luck can go wrong. And apparently it did go wrong. Apparently it did. Penville, the Trundle Bed, it was like, it all just came. That was very nice of him because it took him a lot of hours. I was at a town. That's a good time to have him do it. Apparently there's a little tool called the Needle Threader. Really? I have one of those. It's a little wire thing. I don't know how to work it, apparently. Everybody's jumping on the Needle Threader train. Needle Threader? Yes. Okay. Well, try to find one of those. That's what we do know at this hour. Oh boy, look at you. I know. I know. And then there's horse thing. So horses will be pregnant for 11 months. What is, and humans obviously, nine months, but what is there any longer than a horse?

I think elephants are super long. Oh, let me look it up. Yeah. I say who? And I think kitty cats and rats are like the shortest. Oh, rats are really quick. Yeah. I learned the hard way on that. I went from two rats one summer. I was the kid that got to take a pair of rats home for a summer break. By the end of summer, I had a hundred rats. That is a long time. I mean, that's a lot of rats. Rats and rabbits. I think rabbits do a lot too. Oh, God, yeah. That's why they say that. Yeah. Elephants are 18 to 22 months. Oh, geez. It's because they're so massive. It takes more time. It's complex their brains and their intelligence. They also must be strong enough to walk as soon as they're born. So an elephant is the big. I wonder what a dinosaur was. Probably dinosaurs were probably the longest, but we have to have a lot of them. But how would we know?

Let's see if they know. For a dinosaur. I don't know how they could know. Dinosaurs did not experience pregnancy. Oh, they lay eggs. Oh. Of course. And same with dragons. Dragons. Dragons by memory learned that from a game of thrones. But they do say that the eggs took three to six months to hatch. Some of them only 83 days. How could they possibly know that? Oh, look at this strand of dirt. Hmm. I believe this means that the gestation period, the egg wouldn't hatch for six months. What do you, what do you think? Well, I agree. Sir, based on the type of. Brown that we have here. I'm sorry. I just it's really hard for me. I just don't know how they can be exact killer whales 15 to 16 months.

Then horses. And then randomly a golden alpine salamander up to three years. That's a calendar. That's commitment. Geez. Uh, so cows are nine months. You know the dad salamander. He's long gone by then. Please. He was like, you know, way. A mouse is just three weeks. That makes sense. Oh my god. Hamsters two weeks. Yeah. I know what about rats like pet rats. Uh, super fast. Well, and they turn out they're like little, they look like little piglets. Yes. When they're, you know, um, uh, well the mouse I'm guessing mouse and rat is probably the same. And then dogs and cats are like two months. That's not enough time to plant people. That's pretty remarkable. My son's dog had ten puppies. Ten. And they all are perfectly formed.

And I think there was an 11th that didn't make it. But it only took her two months to make ten perfectly formed puppies. That is crazy. I like all the people that were sending in the information about the horses when we first got onto this topic and they said the horse emoji. The rat is 21 days. Yeah. That makes sense. Chicken is 22. And then they, then I wonder how long it takes a rat once it's born before it can go again because I, I mean, it was one summer and they I had a ton of them. So the, the first original rats that you had, they kept making babies, but then the babies they had started making babies. I, I believe so because you just can't get to that number. I mean, it was just like, it could be, it could have been and when they would, uh, you know, have the babies. There'd be like six, eight, ten times. Yeah. Like little, you know, thing.

And then they grow, they grow pretty fast. I guess incess doesn't have a problem with them. Well, it's different creature. Yes. Just says, remember how elephants have intercourse day. Hi. Hi. Hi. Very carefully. They do it. Elephant style. Yeah. What does that look like? That's a mess. It is a mess. It's got to be. I don't even want to think about it. Let's move on. We got to be done. We're done with the topic. Let's go back to the dinosaurs. Ooh, look at this sampling. Hmm. This must be a Montessor's X from the, uh, a terrific ages. Yes. I can. And you're just making up the words now. Let's write it down. Make it so. Okay. Let's write it down. Make it so. It's a hundred million, fifty years old. We know exactly. And this is where they had their intercourse.

So now here's a question. If dinosaurs laid the eggs, and I know it's going to sound naive, but when, like, we've had this conversation before, when, when things have eggs involved, and they're like, does that, doesn't the male go over and like? Do they have to spread their stuff on the eggs or? I don't know. That's already done. That's how they do it. And then they get the egg and then she lays the eggs. So it would be the equivalent of like, if we had the, the people had the intercourse. They get the egg, but then the woman lays the egg instead of keeping it inside inside. So the dinosaurs were doing it. And then the eggs get fertilized inside the female dinosaur. And then she lays the eggs and then she has to sit on them or protect them. So we're good here, right? Okay. So we're going to do a break. When we come back, we're going to have,

we're going to talk more about the fair. Interstate fair starts tomorrow. But one of the cool things about the fair, they started doing this last year, it was a massive hit. Huge hit. They have these speak easy. And there's where we can go to the secret room and have secret drinks. And we're going to talk to one of the people that is responsible for the secret drinks. Yeah, this is Aaron from Brown's Distillery and in Brown Distillery. And then we're also going to talk about the Kevin Shea Band that will be performing there. Okay, at the speak easy. Oh, yeah. Cool. Okay. Yeah. So we'll do that. And then if you want to play the showdown, trivia competition, please check in with this via the text line. As Molly has pointed out earlier, there's four football questions on account of the start of football season. And tomorrow, I will have the questions for you on Freaky Friday. Yeah. Okay. That's something to look forward to. And then Ken will join us in the eight o'clock hour. So lots to get to. This is the David Raleigh Show from the New America studio.

We now return to the David Molly Show. Hey, welcome back everybody. David Molly Show continues. And as we get ready for the interstate fair opens tomorrow, there's some cool things they're doing out the fair. One, as we learned yesterday, they got a pig that will just randomly just do stuff at any time. This is way better. We've got Aaron from Brown Distillery. He is the master distiller. Master distiller. Yes sir. Okay. What do you get to be the master distiller? Basically a lot of years and putting in the time and work and pushing your way through and learning the trade and hopefully one day it leads you to where I am now. Being a master. So I'm a little obsessed with this boblin. Well, this cedar floral gin. Let's talk about that. Yeah. So we've been teaming up with the Spokane interstate fair for the last three years. It's been a great partnership for everyone really.

And each year we've done it. It's progressively gotten a little bit bigger and more intricate. You know, the first year we did this. We did just a special blend of bourbon, Bose blend, which was representative of the of the the goat that is the Spokane mascot. And we got to see the goat. Yeah. Yeah. We did. So last year we kind of up to the little bit. We didn't necessarily do a product for the fair, but they wanted to do something unique and interesting and they did the speak easy. You know, a place for people to come and sit and enjoy and relax and have cocktails and have this very kind of intimate space to enjoy the fair. So year three, we're back. We're bigger. We've doubled the size of the speak easy. They wanted two additional products. So we're bringing back the Bose blend. It's a three barrel blend of a variety of years. Of age product that we've had. Very nice intimate bourbon. And then we also created a. Gin representative of cedar, the highland cow that was going to be the smoke.

Another mascot of the Spokane fair. So we created this floral cedar's gin that people can enjoy and have some nice refreshing cocktails based with that spirit. It's still. And I know, yeah, Molly to a big thing. You bought both of those, right? Yeah, we became a member. Yeah. She went all in. We joined. Well, we had the bees knees. Now, is that the gin that goes in the bees knees? Yes, ma'am. Okay. That's what I thought. So then because of what we do, we then have to be obsessive and go get the lavender bitters and the this bitters and the slices of orange and the things. And so that we can almost duplicate the bees knees at home and the honey syrup stuff. But I am not a gin person. I've never been a gin person until I tasted this gin and I love it. Well, that's terrific. We love that. It's really and we were just kind of sipping it separately too. And even to sip on it, I enjoyed it. And then your other gin, what's the other gin called?

Because there's two. We have a lavender for gin. And that one is good as well. Yeah. And then we got some vodka. I don't know. The whole line on the whole line. So in the chronologically, which which I know the wine was the was the of course, everybody knows about the brown wine. But then then what happened when you got into the spirits? Yeah. So we are traditionally a wine based company. Yeah. You see a brown wines and almost every grocery store retailer very prominent among Washington in 2021. So the brown company started to purchase the distillery. Andrew Brown, our owner is actually from Spokane. He wanted to have something in his local community that could be representative with him. And so they the distillery was up for sale. It used to be the old warrior distillery. Brown was looking for an opportunity to get into the spirits industry. So in 2021, they purchased the distillery.

And ever since then, we've been pushing forward with the brown products. The other thing I love the you guys have a great location there. It's really wherever we went, you can sit outside and it's really it's in it. It's like in the industrial. So you come around the corner and all of a sudden there's a distillery there and you can sit and have a cocktail. That is that's really cool to. Yeah, the distillery itself is almost its own speak easy. You know, we are in this very off the beaten path location. It is very industrial. There's not a lot of foot traffic. Still a lot of people in Spokane don't even know that we are there because of our location. But it's definitely one of those locations and one of those. Environments where you actually come in as friends and you leave as family. Oh, well, I know we went I went to pick up something and Ken went to pick up my boyfriend and everybody was so nice. Just very hey, how are you doing again? Like they remember you and it's a great setting. And a great place to have like a gathering, you know, there's a big bump.

But you're going to be the speakers. So now the speak easy has doubled in size since last year because they had it and then they said, oh, well, we need. It was a big hit from multiple sources. I've heard it was a very big hit. So that's pretty cool. And then there's going to be there's live music in there too. Yeah, this year, you know, as Molly said, we've doubled the space or the fairs double the space. From my understanding, there's going to be a live band Friday and Saturdays. So we really encourage people to just come out and enjoy the music and the environment and have a cocktail with our spirits and. The Kevin Shay band is going to be there and they have like five to six thirty Friday Saturday. All different times and you can go on the website. That's the other thing is super cool this year is the fair website is so user friendly. You can really find everything you want to find. But the Kevin Shay band will be there and then the mixologist. It's you have Lauren, the rock star bartender who's going to be doing stuff and it's tangent hospitality.

Right. So they're part of all of this as well. Yeah. So this year, we've, you know, we're teamed up with the fair as we know, but we also have partnerships with Tang and hospitality who. You know, they own a lot of the restaurants in Spokane, barachos and. The globe. Yeah. All the. So many on that corner. Yeah. And then we also have the Washington lottery who has partnered up with us. Yeah, lottery. We love the lottery. These are all the things we love. Alcohol gambling. The fairs. Speaky. These. You have nice quiet secret environment. Live music. Everybody's happy. And so is the speak easy going to be open every single day that the fairs open or is it only Friday and Saturday nights? No, it will be open every day. Oh, good. I believe it opens at two. So you don't have to be limited to just the weekends. If you're an individual that can make it out during the week, then we really encourage you to just come check it out. It's a very unique experience.

It's great atmosphere. So it's it's terrific. I like it. I'm just getting a plan for tomorrow already because we're going to be out there and I'm just thinking there's a way. I drop the dog off on the valley, get an Uber and six, six knees later. Yeah, I'll be on the tilt world. That's great. Make sure you shoot some video too. Yeah. Get on camera doing. He by myself with an elephant ear and a big pretzel and all the things that they have there. I think this is great. This will be a lot of fun. We're happy that we're happy to meet you. We are so happy to be out there for the little press day. I got to know all about it and yeah, it's good stuff. So you guys have the you have the gin. You have the bourbon. You have multiple gins. Yes, we do. And then and the vodka too. Yeah. So we have a whole variety of spirits at our actual facility. You know, we carry a handful of our wines. Pretty good sortment. We have all the spirits that we we have in retail and then we have a tasting room,

exclusive spirits as well. So if you're a whiskey drinker, we have a bourbon, we have a single malt, we have a rye whiskey. We have a variety of vodka. There's a lemon, a huckleberry, a regular vodka. And then we have, you know, some some flavored spirits as well. We have like a cold brew vodka. Our vanilla bean bourbon is one of our most popular items. That was the other one we tasted that was so good. Our from Michelle Dessage that they would love the espresso vodka. That's the coffee. Yes. What's your favorite thing of all? My favorite thing of all. My favorite thing of all is actually not in bottle yet. So it's like, I've got experimental whiskey sitting in barrel waiting for their day to grace the lips of people. Only a master distiller would know that. Yes. So it's yet to be. It's yet to be in bottle. But out of all the products that we currently have, I would say either just our traditional reserve bourbon as a very proud pleaser or the vanilla bean for sure for the individuals with a sweeter palate.

And here's the nice thing about the vanilla because I kind of went to the clearer thing, you know, staying away from the bourbons and stuff. But that is has a sweetness, but it's not overpowering. It's just a hint of sweetness. So you don't get that same, you know, if you're having peanut butter whiskey or one of the honey whiskeys or whatever, this is different. It's just a hint of it. And I like that. It's more subtle. Yeah. Overwhelming. We are our I call our our gin and our vanilla bean bourbon kind of like gateway spirits. You're not. Oh, maybe you're a wine drinker. Maybe you're a beer. I'm a beer on a sewer. And but if you're interested in getting a little dabble and some spirits, these are two options that are easy on the palate, easy to drink and maybe open up your options a little bit. So you mentioned the wine. Can I get wine in the speak easy to or is it just the spirits? I believe it's just the spirits. I could be wrong. That's going to that's going to push me into the into the spirit world.

Uh-huh. Join us. I'll be a spirit in the material world. There was a time when you were. See, there was a time when you weren't a wine person. That's true. And you're wine person. So there's always room to grow. Yeah. I went from vodka. I vodka was my first thing. And then, you know, and vodka still. Still pretty good. I did a bourbon tour in Louisville. So I kind of learned a little bit about that. But if, you know, if you're in a situation, well, well, when in Rome, you're in speak easy. And I got the bourbon there. I got to, I got to do it. Be wrong not to. You rude not to. You'd be rude. It'd be rude. It's our job. As a Kentucky, and I would be very disappointed if you didn't try the whiskey. Are you from Kentucky? I am. Oh, nice. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. So I'm from, from Claremont, the homogen beam grew up to two, two miles behind it. So we did the tour. We did the tour. It's been in the backyard the whole time. So it's in your blood. Basically. You're raised. It probably was in your water. I love Louisville.

I just, the, what is that? Is it fourth street? What is the? Yeah. Yeah. Town, town. It's just, it's just fun. It's all bars and live music and. Um, yeah. I think it's beautiful. I live in Nashville. So I go to bowling green to do some work and stuff. And then we go to the race track. The church of down. Yes. Yeah. I did the tour of that too. That's awesome. Highly suggest the Derby. No. Yeah. I think the year, the year that I did the tour, the year before, they had set the record. They had like a hundred and fifty five thousand at, uh, you know, Churchill Downs where they, you know, for the, for the Derby, and they have the, the normal grandstands. And then there's inside where you're like the infield. Yeah. That's a whole spectacle. Yeah. That would be neat. That's dangerous right there. Yeah. Is that, have you been it? Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, man. That's where, uh, all the locals are. Oh, the middle section. Yeah. Yeah. Love it. Yeah. Well, that's where I learned about secretariat. And then at the tour, uh, for Churchill Downs, you get to do,

they'll let you call a race where you're in the little booth. And they give you the colors and everything. And then you get the recording of you calling a horse race. Oh, that's, that's super cool. And then all the bourbon. Yeah. Yeah. Um, there's a question. I'm going to ask you a question. I'm going to ask you a question. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, there's a question here. Actually, this is the first time texture. First of all, they say it's time to dust off Carnie man. Oh, yeah. Carnie, Carnie, Carnie, Carnie, Carnie, Dave has a song about the Carnival. All right. And then how much sugars are in your vodka? They're asking. How much sugars are in our vodka? I'm not really sure where they're going with that. Um, so to be a vodka, it's got to meet certain qualifications. It's got to come off the still at 190 proof. And then there's a lot of other odorless and tasteless. So if you're referring to the, just the spirit off the equipment, there's no sugars at all. Okay. Um, what is the base for? Is that a grain base or a wheat?

Wheat base. Okay. They have some potato vodka's. Oh, yeah. That's, yeah. There are some potatoes for people who have any vodka can be made from any substrator raw material as long as it meets those qualifications. You can go back to another friend who has a distillate and they were saying they turned their wine into vodka. Yeah, absolutely do that. So that's, I never knew that you could do that. Yeah, that's pretty cool. And you could turn beer. I guess that's my point from a saying he had a batch of beer that it wasn't very good. And that they turned that into some kind of alcohol beverage. They just like, if you boil it down, this person is a diabetic. That's why they're asking. Oh, okay. Um, well yeah, back to that question. like our flavored botca's where you're looking at around. I think it's like eight grams of sugar per liter, something like that. Per liter, okay. Oh, that's amazing. You'll never get eight grams in one sitting, that's for sure. That's a lot, that's sweet. Yeah. So maybe look for a different avenue if you're a little concerned with that. Sure. It's the straight vodka though,

that's not sweet. That's pretty clean, yeah. Okay, go. You're safe there. Got it, okay. All right. Well, I'm excited for you guys. I think this is great. And I know that the exposure over the last few years of what the brown people are doing with the, with the spirits is fantastic. Yeah, that's what we're really just kind of looking for with our involvement with the fairers, just the exposure and get the local community to know where we're at and come enjoy the space and let us provide them with some great cocktails and wine and just a happy environment. So I know the space has doubled. So what is the new capacity for, because you want to get there early, you don't want to get, you know, you don't want to be, get to the, speaking, oh, no, it's all full in there. Sorry. Yeah. Last year was a pretty intimate space. I'd say that maybe you could fit 30 people there. So I'd say this year, you're easily 67 people. Okay. Okay.

Perfect. Still get there early. You want a spot? We'll be there tomorrow early. Yeah, we're going to be the first ones in there. Yeah. There are a monial first walk in to the speakers. Amazing. Very good. All right, Aaron. Yeah. Well, I said meet you officially and we'll see you out at the fairer. Awesome. We look forward to having you. Thank you. Yeah. Love it. Thanks. All right, let's do a break here. When we come back, we'll do the showdown. Molly has the trivia questions ready to go, including you said four football questions in honor of the kickoff of the football season. If you want to play, check in with us via the Dutch Bros. Textline. Ken will be joining us in the eight o'clock hour as well. Or as we continue, this is the David Molly Show from the New America studio. We now return to the David Molly Show. Hey, welcome back, everybody. It is the David Molly Show. But now, right now, we look forward to this every week. Thursdays, it's Dave Ken and Molly.

Hey, boom. Hi. Good morning, good morning. Good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning. Well, careful. Careful. I heard a wrong. Yeah, there's a missing pig at the fair. What now? Oh, it's all good. What were you doing two years ago yesterday? Did I come in on the program? You're announcing your retirement. Oh, yes, that's right. We talked about that. Yes. On KQ. I did see a memory pop up. Big announcements. A couple of big announcements. Yeah. That was the you're retiring that we were, and then that we were going to have announcement, but it was we invited everybody to the Fox, but we hadn't told them about the show yet. Correct. I think that's right. I think that's right. I think it was. It was like a double announcement. Mm-hmm. Two years retired. Not yours, right? You've been retired for two years. Man, I put the tire in retired. I don't know. Well, it's all good. Well, you fix some screens.

You're working in a funeral house. I don't. I've traveled in the country. A Labor Day was screen fixer weekend. More on that later, because I know all the screenings are out there. Oh, yeah, they want to fold. I can't remember who I was talking to. And they asked about your screens. And I said, well, you know, I bet he would, I'd work on your screen. Wow. It's a pretty big hole. I said, well, there's no hole too big for Ken Hopkins. Right. Yeah. Once you get the screen, the hole doesn't matter. Right. Although, I judge and I even told my wife, I kind of see as I it, because I want to know who did it and what happened. Yeah. Every screen has a story. I figured out a couple more on that later. Oh, yeah. On the next CSI screen. Oh, I like it. Yeah. Well, we have lots to get to, but we want to do the showdown. And you're going to, you're going to stay for that. And then you can, you know, have your input on some of these questions, because Molly says she has four football

questions. I sure do. I'm going to feel bad if I'm out of the loop on those. I missed the football question. You said I in the loop. You got you missed two. What? Well, it's shot clock, which I did miss that. However, I know why I missed it. Because last night they had a situation after a, a, a stoppage of play. Yes. And then it is a 25 second plot. Not shot clock. Not, not, not 40 seconds. Oh, so that's why there was, there was some confusion on that. But, but then I know the one that Bryant and Brian was mad at himself was the, the biggest thing. Yeah. I got that one. That was a $5. I know. I forgot to give you your $5. Any $5 football questions. I forgot to give you your $5. Just to, by the way. And don't think I didn't remember that one I was looking through. And I thought, well, this $5. No, I'm buying something with it. He's going to get that. That's OK.

I bought something with your $5. Let's see. Do I have any $5 questions? Well, yes. I do. I have a $5 question at number two. OK, second question. All right. Let's get ready for the showdown. What do you think? And then Cheryl's going to be calling here in a second. It's time for Dave's cash showdown. Time for you to throw down. Winning in a minute and a 10. Dave comes in and answers in again. If your score's inferior, then Dave will reign superior. It's time to play around. Dave's cash showdown. Showdown featuring football questions. Yes. Yes. Very exciting. Little sportsy. This is the last one. I'm only doing this because it's opening week. I'm not this is not going to be a trend. So don't be afraid. However, tomorrow, when I do the questions,

maybe I have a football question. Maybe just one. Then we wrap up football week. Hey, Tell Ken, who's winning Fantasy Football? Molly is winning Fantasy Football right now. April and I are winning. After one game. What was your plan team is winning? What was your plan? I like that. Cheryl, are you there? Hello. Cheryl. Oh, good. There you are. Yep. Ken's getting a message on his phone at the same time. Yeah, here you're loud and clear. I'm glad that you're going to play the showdown. Now Molly has said there's a $5 question, the second question right out of the shoot. And then how are you generally speaking with football questions? That. Oh, well, maybe Ken can help. Maybe Ken can help on the football questions. Maybe he doesn't say that. You did football. You did football yesterday. Why are we revisiting football? I said because it's the second. It's the this is it. But you have Ken Hopkins.

So Ken is allowed to chime in on the football questions only. Oh, OK. OK. Fairer. OK, I'll say it's fair. OK. Very good. I'll agree fairer. OK. Fair is what we need. All right. I'm going to leave the studio. Molly has the 10 questions. Football questions, a money question, and a show question at number 10. Yes. That's right. Good luck, Cheryl. Hey. Thank you. You too. All right, Cheryl. So in general, what is your strongest topic? Oh, maybe entertainment, medical. Oh, the medical, yeah. That's not. Yeah, nothing there. Well, we'll see how I do. All right. All right. Then I will just ask you this. So are you ready to throw down on the showdown? Most definitely. All right. Here we go. What are the only two NFL teams to win a Super Bowl in their home stadiums? And good help.

The giant. I'm not the giant. Giant? No. No. I have no clue. OK. I'll just go do. All right. This is the $5 question. Which film earned Stanley Kubrick a razzian nomination for worst director? Would that be the shining? Oh my god. You got it, Cheryl. Nice job. Holy crap. I'm rich. You are rich. OK. The Niagara Falls empties into which great lake? The Superior? All right. Here's another football question. Who was the first head coach of the Seattle Seahawks? Well, I should know that. So should Ken look at his head ache. He's giving himself a headache. I'm stuck on the second guy. Boy, a name's not coming to me.

No, OK. I'm going to say Chuck Knox, but I don't know. Yeah. That's correct. Which film sported at the tagline just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water? God. Can you keep going? There you go. Thank you. All right. Here's another football. In 2010, which player became the only grandfather in the NFL? Oh, sure. And I believe. Oh my god. Is he still playing? OK. I don't think he's still playing. Oh, I think he was a packer. Believe he was a packer. He was a quarterback. Aaron Rogers. Ratt-Far. Ratt-Far, by a lick set. Ratt-Far. You'll take that. What is the capital of Minnesota? Minneapolis. Who was the first female to be featured

on the front of a Wheaties box? Then Dr. Player, it needs testing. All right. How many NFL teams have bird mascots? Name as many as you can? Or just give me the number? He has eagles. I'm not a football person. Remember? You got two. Open, starting on four. Four. Give one more. Name after a poem. I said, eagles. Did you get eagles? I got eagles. Got cardinals. Oh. Oh. See, hot. Never more. Yeah. I got four. The Ravens. And you got the Falcons. Between you, you got all five. I'm giving it to you. And today's show question. What does Molly uses a palette cleanser after watching programs at night? Oh, I just heard you do that. Oh my god. It's the go to show. I have to watch one every day. Well, then that would be Brady Don said,

whoo. I didn't hear you say that. Oh, I said, I know. I said, I said, I had two after a long day, kind of watch it. All right. Well, Dave's coming back. We'll see. I think that. I think it was helpful. White thing. I think it was respectable. I think can help a little bit. And that's okay. That's what happens. Can help with football questions. Hey, I have a question. I'm going to ask you. I think that's a good question. You can ask yourself. It's a good question. It's a good question. I'm trying to help. Maybe for a different time, but for our viewers on YouTube, does this screen look crooked? Well, it's a little bit... I think I did that yesterday. I think my chair got stuck under it. Oh, dude, you're bon. It does. I'm looking... I'm looking at the screen. I think it looks okay. Yeah. But when I was standing out there, waiting to come back in. I was looking at it. Looks like it's a little... Did Cheryl win five dollars? She did. Oh, yeah, good job Cheryl She did and then how she do with the football questions. Well with a little help

She I think she got two of I think she did as well as I did Okay, all right questions all right my turn to play here. We go 10 questions for me What are the only two NFL teams to win a Super Bowl at their home stadium? Tampa Bay and the Rams Impressive. Yes, that's it. Yeah, really? Here's your five dollar question which film earns Stanley Kubrick a razzied nomination for worst director? Oh, you put this in there just for your purposes. Eyes wide shut The Niagara Falls empties into which great lake? Ontario or Oh, like America. Oh, yeah, I was waiting. No, I know that drag. That's what it is. What do you mean? Who is the first head coach of the Seattle sea hawks?

Oh Chuck Knox That's what he said Jack Fatera. Yes, good job. I will allow it. Come on with that. Which film sported the tagline just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water? Uh Jaws two In 2010 which player became the oldie grandfather in the NFL In 2010? Mm-hmm. Oh my gosh Uh, that is a great question. I don't know that. Okay. What is the capital of Minnesota? Uh, St. Paul who is the first female to be featured on the front of a witty's box. Ooh, Mary the Rettin. How many NFL teams with bird mascots can you name? Well, all of them. Okay, well then go ahead. Uh, well sea hawks. It's not really a bird, but it is a bird thing. See it sea hawks, falcons, ravens, cardinals, eagles. And of those five which is not an actual real team.

Cardinals. There's only five. Oh, they're nice. Okay. All right. And uh, final question. What does Molly use as a cleanser? Cleanser, palette cleanser at the end of a day. Uh, Brady Bunch episode. Very good. Okay, Adam all up special. I'm adding them up special. Oh, wow. Okay, we have our final score. Ladies and gentlemen. Dave wins eight five. Hey, but she won five dollars. Did I win five dollars? No, you did not. Damn it. What was the five dollar question again? It was what film did Stanley Kubrick get a and it wasn't an ice white shot. It was for the shining. The show. Really? Yes. Well, they're just wrong. I went right to ice white shot. I thought that's why you put it in there. Oh, that's the trick, but she got it. The show nice work, Cheryl. Yeah, she said holy crap. I'm ready. Oh, that's what I would say if I won. So, but you got a Tampa and the Rams. Very good.

The shining Ontario Lake Ontario. Jack Patera was the first one. Couldn't come up with him. And they fired him while he was on a fishing boat. And then they hired Chuck Knox. Grout in ground chuck. Ground chuck. Yeah, that's what they called it. Farve was the first grandfather in the NFL. Oh, okay. And they gave me a clue. She said he was a packer and I thought, yeah, okay. Good question. I knew he was a packer. And I knew he was a quarterback. St. Paul. Very good. Mary Lou Retten. Very good. You both got all the mascots and you both got the brave bunch. Yeah, almost. Almost thought, you know, a little shot of bourbon since he had the bourbon guy. Oh, yeah. But Brady bunch of cool. Brady bunch is my palette cleanser. It's what makes me happy. And then usually when I get in bed, I have to watch a friend's episode or two. Because, you know, it's important as one would. Especially if you like to just stir being documentary. Cheryl, congratulations for our friends in America Credit Union

Proud Ponserv, Dave's cash showdown. America Credit Union. They are the only credit union that is represented by every NFL football team. Yeah, it's true. The bird teams, which there are five of. And then there's the giant team, which is, you know, they're all a bunch of giants. You think, well, they should win every game because there's a giant. Well, the inspiration for the giants came from the America Credit Union. You see, friends, the America Credit Union was the credit union for all people that enjoy football and all sporting events. So if you like sports or if you don't like sports, the America Credit Union should be your credit union today and every day. If I bring up the Dutch nut from Spokane's Dutch Bros. Spokane's Dutch Bros. Oh, it's true. You see, friends? You really got our own roles today. Cheryl, so I can text you the card or I can send it to you whatever you want. Go ahead and text it to me and I would like you to take the $5 out to one of the very best

machines and turn it into 20,000 for yourself. Oh, what a nice person. Very nice. Thank you so much. That could be that could be all it takes is a seven. Oh, one. Oh, actually, you could have two more spins. Yeah, maybe five. That'll find the money question for years. Yes. That's right. All right, Cheryl, you're wonderful. You never know. Thank you very much for playing the game. Text in your address and then Molly will give you the we're going to do a picture. Oh, yeah, oh, the picture. Oh, okay. And then the money just gets rolled up. So I guess we don't need anything. Everything's fine. You gotta let me know if you win big. I don't want anything. I just want to know. Okay. It would make me really happy. All right. All right. Thank you, Cheryl. All right. Have a good day, guys. You too. Thank you. Tomorrow will be freaky Friday. I will have questions and Molly will have to answer them. Take those questions. I have answers. That's right. What is Molly's general record on freaky Friday?

They got a win. Which genre? I think it's all. Yeah, we've only done three, right? This will be the fourth. So I think you're going to think it's a one one and one. It's not bad. Yeah. My friend Patrick says that the screen looks a tiny bit crooked. And I believe it's because I accidentally got when the pig was here and I was backing up away from the crap coming out of its butt in real time. They got stuck. I was trying to back away the chair or something else got stuck. He said the chair don't get into it again. All right. I don't know. I have to look from out there. I just caught my eye when I was outside of the studio. It looks okay in the Yeah, it looks okay on that. I don't know how to move it. I'm scared. Anyway. Yeah. It looks good. But Kent here. Did you watch the game last night? I did. Yeah. Go Hawks. My goodness. And Grindr style. And the defense just kept coming up with play.

Yeah. And to play after play. I enjoyed it. Including the clinching interception in the end zone. I know. Two feet down. That was that was a grinder. And you've been very excited about this football season. You said it. You said you have never been more excited for football. I know. Your Mariners. Well, I know. I believe are they 10 games under. I don't. It's not happening. They only have to win 14 of their next 17 game. Is that all? That's all. I did hear a sports reporter say because it's shrinking down. Every game is a playoff game for the Mariners. Yeah. They got to basically win out. I know. Basically. And you got your Mariner thing on. I'm a Lannier. Yeah. Yeah. You should have that on. Remember when Molly had you bet $100 on the Mariners? Right. I believe. I'm not sure. I think I was forced into it.

No, I was not. Of course. Well, we felt like it was time you put your money where your mouth was. You are like a mom fan making a mom fan making on the fan making. I like the Mariners. And then I said, just put your money up. And why I didn't do it last year. Didn't go all the way. But wild card. Almost one all the way. It is. I admired the spirit of it all. But you know, again, when you're betting on something that's never happened before, what if we live in a world where we never see that happen, where they never, ever even make it to the World Series. The only team that's never made it to the World Series. Yeah. They are. And I asked my two sons several years ago. I said, which happens first in my lifetime? Mariners, Winner World Series, WarConn's Aguins and National Championship. And Gonzaga's been there. They've been all around it. Not going on the door.

Not going to have final four and all that. So I don't know. And now you know, you can bet on Gonzaga to win the National Championship at Northern Quest. Yeah. I there are gambling ads all over. Yeah. Very exciting. It's you. You can walk in. What gates? Yeah, now I watched a lot of college football over the weekend. And I know it. That's kind of cranking up a little. What do you think of that Michigan game? Huh? Yes. Talk about the Monday morning over reaction show. Oh, yeah. I'd like to our friend Dan Patrick, support the guy said, now, was there time left or did they add time? Where was the time? Yeah. It was under a ham sandwich somewhere. It wasn't under a ham sandwich. Well, they found it. They found it an extra second. And I thought they said after the fact, you know, they said the Western Michigan,

they should have just run off the field and gotten the showers. Yeah. Hey, it's over. We want it. It is what it is. If you want to run of another play, go ahead. Yeah. That was a shocker. And then he was very mad that they stormed the field because that was tacked. Yeah. What I mean, if you're playing, if you're a 30 point favorite and you win the game, do you storm the field like you've done something special? It is. I mean, it had to be frantic. Yeah. But it was a tremendous exciting finish. I like big blue. Yeah, go blue. Michigan, you know, but. Well, what do you do? Now, did either of you watch the tennis match that went to 333 in the morning? I heard about that because I was watching ESPN after the football game and they, oh my god, they had tennis coverage. So I guess what happens, it's the US open and so yeah, right, right. They have a five match thing or whatever. So some games are two hours, some games are five and a half hours. So you can't. You never know. Yeah. So the writer that I heard an interview and he said,

I think they need an overhaul. They need an overhaul in this thing because you can't predict the biggest moment of this guy's life. It went from 40,000 or whatever. However many people fit in that thing. There were about 7,000 people still in the stands at 333. I think even that's impressive. Yeah, it was. And this is New York City. It's right there. It's a weeknight. And this guy has the biggest moment of his life. He wins and there's everybody is asleep. Yeah, it's 330 in the morning. Yeah, the city's almost asleep. Yeah. And anyway, the story was pretty fascinating. But this is happening more and more where these great moments happen where most of America is like checked out and they need an overhaul. And it's hard to get caught up on all the hype. But when you have a match that goes five hours or whatever then you can't. Brian says he matched, watch that match. Really? And he stands at 330 in the morning. Well, actually for us it would have been 1230. Right. Right.

Still late. With all that, that's way late. So I thought that was pretty interesting story. And the reporter guy, he's like, then we had to go do a press conference. Right. After the match. Then I'm on a platform in New York City trying to get a subway back to my hotel at 5am or whatever. He said, which is not a pleasant experience. Right. You got all these New Yorkers leaving. You know, a lot of New Yorkers take the subway to get to pieces like that anyway. He said the logistics involved are just horrible. They've got to fix this thing. And then he's got to be back there at 10am. Yeah. Well, I was listening to him talk to people on my way out of here yesterday. So he was already up and talking to the MPR people. Like, how was it and stuff? So yeah. Flushing meadow, I believe. That's right. Oh, that's right. Yeah. Outside of Queens. Is that the last major for tennis? I'm not sure. I don't know. The sisters are back.

They were. I think they. They. I think they got knocked out. They stormed off. Oh, did they. I don't think they stormed off. Well, I think there were one of them stormed off. Really? Did they? Well, I hear stuff. They're 48 and 46 years old. So that's remarkable. Yeah. Yeah. That's pretty amazing. I don't know so much about tennis all of a sudden. Oh, it's good topic. Hey, you're going to check in there. Yeah. How was Ken's week? Tell us more about the, you said there was more on the screen situation. What's the story on the screen? About labor. A lot of stuff going on. I did. We had a lot of guests and I'll talk about that. But when they laughed, I said, hey, there's two screens that have gashes in them. And I fixed them individually. But I did deduce exactly what happened. On one of the windows, there was definitely a dog paw smear. Oh, my God.

Like, here. Come up to the window. Oh, another dog. That's the mystery. Oh, God. I, it was definitely a dog paw that punched through the screen. I could tell that. Oh, boy. Now, we need to know the dog and whose dog was it? That's. Did your daughter bring some dogs? No. I also had dogs there. Well, there's family dogs. You're so cute. She wants to get to the bottom of this right now. That's what I was like last night. Yes. And then the other screen, I thought it kind of got graffiti. But I absolutely know it got escorted with like a spray nozzle because it was kind of squiggly lines in it. Oh. It was so. And I believe, I believe there was probably a bee on there and somebody said, oh, let's get it. And it, it punctured holes because of the pores. Boy, that's a pretty strong force for the nozzle. And I think that's a lot of evidence. And I could tell it got sprayed because there was

a little rust on the side. See, I've got evidence. Oh, boy. You really have. I've had a deep dive in the screen. Do you have any suspects, Ken? A previous lake dwellers like who? Well, it's family, man. No, okay. Well, I think I'm on the other side. On the other side. Not my side. No, I don't. So they bring a dog, a damn dog. And then they're, oh, the bee. And then they don't, did they report? No, they should report. No, you leave. You leave. And then just, I don't know. I hope that nobody puts a check. So now are those screens now replaced? Or those are on deck? Well, those are fixed. Oh, nice. Put that in. And because I'm a guy and I accomplished something, I have to mention it every time. Yeah. Trish, look at that. Well, look how clean that is. It even looks better from the outside. What we're driving by. We thought about that. Why did they point out their handiwork somewhere? She said, yeah, I did all your laundry this morning

before you even caught up. It's like, okay, I get it. Oh, yeah. Are we now going to point out all the things we do for each other? Well, you know how guys are. You know, accomplish something. He does. What about my dinner that I made? What about the dinner? Yeah, I got it. It was so good. It was so good. So I think they should call you Ken Hopkins screen detective. Screen detective? I think that would be good because I go down and rabbit hole with the screen. You could fix it. But while you're fixing it, you're thinking, what happened to this port? Every screen has a story. All it does. And if there was some kind of a crime committed, and they could bring you in as their screen witness. They could. Yeah. I have two more screens to fix. Oh boy. One is a big slider. It's a big boy. It's like Dave's. Oh, yeah, I was a big boy. Where did that come from? Well, it's up there. It's the upstairs one.

And what happened, Molly, is you know where the little candle is? Where you put your two fingers and then it never comes out right. And she just send up sticking your hand through the screen. That's like, there's big. There's big. And I don't blame anybody on that. It's in the upstairs bedroom. So how is that logistically working? When the kids bring him down on the upstairs deck? How do you get up there? Well, I just roll around. There he is. So the upstairs? How high up is it? Well, it's an outside ground. But it's all paved. And they have a little trail. And I was like, that was great for me. But it is great for everybody. Is it? It is. You knew it's great for me. I'm my screen sitting there. I'm leaving it on display. It's right near the, I don't really need the AC anymore. But I can't get it out of there myself. So it's sitting ready to be put back up. We took out, we don't have AC, but we have these swamp coolers.

But they go in the window like a unit. And they're pretty wonderful. And I took one out yesterday. And that's when I said that screen has a hole in it. Oh, I understand. Yeah, I came in a little hot. But. No, do you, when you go to people's houses, are you drive around or just do you see that do you notice screens all the time now? Not really. No. Not really. I'm more of an apprentice on the screen. But you don't notice like, well, what I could do to that screen. Oh my god. You know, I could now. Now that you mention it, it is so nice to have a brand new screen. Wanna welcome everybody back to screen talk? Screen talk. Screen talk. Yeah. It's like a home improvement type segment. Michelle says, Ken's got a new show, CSI screen. Yeah. Yeah. Crime scene and investigations screen. Who did that? Mr. Ed said the same thing I did.

Ken Hopkins screen detective. Yes. Yes, we think the same way Mr. Ed. Oh, yeah. Oh, maybe Ken can help Dave with his life is a little free like library. Did you hear what happened to the free library? Oh, the one you built. Yes. Yes. What? No, I have not heard. Well, it came crashing down. Oh, was it during that storm? No. It was too heavy. There's too many books. It's a very active. I mean, I don't know the data on all of these little home library things that people have. But those are cool. But this one had a lot of activity. Books going in, books going out, a lot of activity on the door. And then when it finally collapsed, I took the remains. Oh, cool. Sadly. And lifted the little house and it was heavy.

Yes. I don't think it was made for so much work. So this weekend, I think. You're going back out of it? Well, I'm going to go back out. I get a we get a build a more stable top. How many advice? I haven't done the instant library. Okay. But in general, when you're building, is there rules of thumb that you could maybe talk to talk to? Yeah. Well, and I, and I, as much as Ken has asked about this, he's probably 15, 20 times in the last week or so. Yeah. He says, wouldn't the, wouldn't the little library look better with a screen door on it? I said, no, we don't, there's no need. That way they did. Not all things have to have a screen. They can peer in and look at the titles. He's really pushing the screen out. Yeah. He's really pushing the screen though and that. Anyway. But in and amongst the whole library weekend, I hope your, your break was good. We had our, uh, and Nesan, have you and their little girls from Boise came up.

Charlotte. Charlotte and Clara. Clara. I'm four and two. Oh, man. The most active, uh, little girls and my, my nephew Blake, uh, their dad, he is, he's out number three to one in his house. The females. Yeah. Oh, yeah. They, they do run it. He dry, he brought his boat up, which was, which was the old, he inherited and bought the old family boat. Uh, and I said, every Hopkins from me up, uh, remember that boat. So it was so cool to see that. He's, he takes it right on the long like the record. You guys are just right there. He put a new motor in it. He brought it from Boise. He brought it from a, he's, here's what he does. Um, he packs up the truck and, and the boat left early. Uh-huh. And then he went to the boat and met the girls, because the girls outnumber him.

Right. The girls flew. Oh, they fly. Oh, he drives the boat. He said, did you get it? The airport, he goes, yeah, I got there 10 minutes before they landed. That's perfect. That's perfect. He's just deficient in so, uh, they fly home too. They flew home. He took them out to the airport. So the boat stays. Two stay morning. No, he packed up the boat and he drove down. Oh, the girl flew, the girls flew both ways and he drove both ways. How old is the boat? The boat was born in 1966. Wow. That's so cool. My grandfather bought it and it was a big deal. It's like a aluminum hole. How many people sit in it? Um, six. It was like a fishing boat. Kind of thing. No, it doesn't need a screen. No screen. No screen. No, it's just a recreational. We too, then we all learned how to ski. We were forced to learn how to ski back in my day.

And then you pulled the hammy. Yeah. That was bad. That was later on. That was discussed over the weekend. Was it? Because when you pulled the hammy? Well, Blake, my nephew, he was the one driving the boat when I pulled the hammy. And my wife was in the boat as well. I think my son was there. And he refused to help me out of the water. Because he's, he basically said. The ski was planned on top of the water. And you were under the water. You held on too long. So that I guess for that your penalty. He sees, he sees I did right there. So, uh, yeah, he's strong. How old is he? He is 40. He is the age of our marriage. Did you hear that, Molly? Yeah. So he was 40. So he was, he was 20. Like he was, how long did the hammy happen 20 years ago? I'd said, yeah, probably 20, maybe 15.

It was, uh, yeah, I was, I was walking barely. Yeah. I did learn something about a pulled hammy. You have to, you have to wrap it and wrap it. Really tight. Yeah. And there's nothing they can do. It's just time is the only thing that fixes it. Yeah, time, time heals. It's the same. What's the one in the front? The quad. How the quad. I did that. And once you do it once. Then it came to the wall. Oh my god. And it hurts. And it was from, you know, playing sports. And you jump, like you run fast out of the, the batter box. And once it pings, it's like, it's not going to be a problem. I don't want to be a, you know, I don't want to predict this because it's kind of putting ill will out there. But the opening, uh, week of the NFL season, a lot of pulled hammies. Because a lot of these guys aren't playing full speed. And then all of a sudden they get out there and out. And then they're screwed because again, it's a time is the only thing that helps. And if they try to come back too fast, you can really wreck it. And so, uh, yeah, I think that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to do it.

I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, uh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Stretch. Stretch. Stretch is what. So, when he realized you were severely injured with your hamstring pulled, did he feel bad for it? Or did he still say you just hung on too long? It's your fault. Uh, he did repeat that phrase. Yeah. And, uh, and I said, I know I hung on too long, but, you know, what's done is done. And now I have a whole new chapter. Right round. Now, yes. Now I am. Now I'm here. But we just had a ton of fun out there. And, uh, the one that was off and on, and then we had that gigantic storm. Yes. Uh, in rain coming down and, and that's when you're, that's when your library fell apart, right? Dave, they're in the big storm. Yes. The storm took out. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it wiped out houses too.

I mean, even the most well-built, I saw a brick house go down. So, I mean, he didn't get to happen. We could see that. Got to fix that. The one thing I loved is, uh, little Charlotte's four. She's almost five. And every night she wanted to have a glow party, which was we went down to the main level, and turned on some music at Star. And, uh, both Blake and I had little lasers. And she had this little laser thing. Uh-huh. And so, you know, on the roof right above us, we just had a glow party and laser. Oh. And I got to be in charge of the music. Nice. DJ can return. Because that was a former DJ. And, uh, since both of the, uh, Blake and Steph, they both graduated in the 90s. Oh, you know that music. And so, uh, I was like, uh, white outcast and black eyed peas. And every one of them. All those were days. It was all, how old were you?

I was at seventh grade. And then I had to bring up a couple, uh, uh, the Vanga boys, the Vanga boys. Oh, that's fine. I'm blue. Bob, I D. Bob, I, I, I, I, I, they just thought this is, this is middle school coming. Yeah. And so, and so we had the glow party. That's what they play when the Indian score. They play the, uh, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead. All that's right. And they're pretty, you know, cheers for a little bit. You guys have the breakfast boys or something. No, no, no, no. But there was one that was included. You were the breakfast boys and Molly, dead, dead, dead, dead. Somebody made a song for us. Yeah, that was awesome. You think we should bring Cardi Man back. The fair and I. Oh, Cardi Cardi, Cardi Cardi, Cardi Cardi. Cardi Man. Oh no, Cardi Man, Arnie, man. Somewhere. Crank up that ride, Mr. Cardi Man. Ha ha ha. It's a longer song too. Yeah. Didn't you have an edited version? I thought we did an edited version.

I had two versions. Very good memories. Somewhere. I remember one birthday a long time ago. I did. We were always talking about the behind the music where half hour it's great and then it's 40 something terrible. And I did a behind the music to Cardi Man. I don't know. It was like, I taped one of them where there was a guy named Dave in the band. I kept on going. And then Dave went dark on us. It wasn't as weird for me. It's something like that. You know, all that audio still exists somewhere, but we can't get it. No. No. We can't get it. They changed the password. Yeah. But just thinking of the, as as Saturdays is for us and for all of the listeners and everything, just think how good they feel though. I mean, they got to feel great. They got it. Yeah. Yeah. It has to feel good just keeping it from us. Our whole life's work. Yeah.

I still, I tried to get in. I tried to break in a couple of weeks ago on the password and evil. I don't know. Capital E. I. I. underscore. Nasty. Top one. Did you try the idiot series? Because there's one of the passwords. It's a capital I. Oh. And then it's a different numbers and you got to capitalize and then acceleration marks and stuff. Yeah. Yeah. I think the numbers are 666. But I got a problem. I don't know. Yeah. Passwords are crazy. Anywho. Anywho. We do have our CDs though. Yeah. I got the one. I think it's on one of the seats. It is on one of the seats. Yeah. I believe it is. You know, when we were moving, getting all our stuff organized, I found a couple of cassettes that were unopened of our original one. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I have some. I wonder if it still plays.

Oh, I'm sure it does. Yeah. I have a muscle collector items. I have. Yeah. I have a lot of CDs and all of the cassettes with the seal. Like it's just for just sort of, you know, my clients never open that. Yeah. Put it in the museum. I think we have upstairs. I think somebody, I have a bag of CDs that somebody gave us of our old team. Maybe it was our friend Jeff. Somebody gave us another CD. It's just a matter of getting it into our systems so we can. Yeah. I've got a little tiny stack of our very first sticker, the rectangle. Oh, yeah. Yeah. The AM and FM and all the different colors. A lot of color. A lot of color. Yeah. A lot of colors. There was one year. So you guys had your two in Dave Kendenstay and Dave to confuse. Then we did the 2000, right? Right. The three of us. Then in 2001, Tosh and I did a boot like they didn't want to do the under the.

Yeah. So we just did them ourselves and I don't have that. That was like the thong song. I have that. Oh, you have that somewhere. Do you? I couldn't find that. I need to do it. And the fall is when I, you know, people always say, oh, spring cleaning blah, blah, blah. For me, it's fall cleaning. That's when I do all of the really deep dive. Oh, yeah. So I've been, you know, into a situation the other day where I'm cleaning stuff that hasn't been done for a while. Well, I will go down on the basement at some point and start to organize that. But that's where a lot of that. Our old stuff is for you know, for the first, I'd say almost 10 years when I came back, came back in 92. But that's when we would have the show on a cassette. And I have boxes and bought years and I have them labeled by years and that it's all cassette. And then I'll write on it like, oh, this was, you know, free, don't it Friday. Oh, yeah. And so I would put, you know, I'd label it if we had a special guest on. Right.

When we had Glenda, the psychic member, the one of the many psychics that we had on the show. Because of the singing psychic. No, she was a different sick. She was right. I think you're going to have real good day. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. What was the singing psychic's name? Oh, somebody will remember. Oh. But she'd say, and I think you're a real nice guy. And it was all, it was, she'd play it from a little jukebox and we like an Elvis song. She'd go, yeah. Yeah, yeah. And you're going to have a real good summer. Uh-huh. You are. I can feel. Uh-huh. And I can see. I can see. You're a real great guy. There may be a new car in your future because you're a real good guy. Uh-huh. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There was the singing psychic. She was from Dallas. And she claimed, she's probably passed down. It's been years and years and years and years and years. She claimed that she got her special psychic powers when she got hit by a semi-truck. Yes.

Remember? I got it. That was her real story. And we had no knowledge. All the radio people just said, and you got to get the squirrel on this thing. You know, she's the singing psychic and she does all this stuff. The whole story. So I didn't know exactly what we were getting into. And then when she starts telling those stories, it was like, oh my God. It was very, very entertaining. Well, I don't know what you're talking about. I had an accident with a symmetric and then I started to see infections. And I can see that you're a real nice guy. Yeah, yeah. I think most of her sentences started with, I can see. Yeah. And then do you remember the sex therapist that we have had on? I do. Laura Corn was her name. Oh, Laura Corn. And she had, she had a very successful career writing books about relationships and all the things you're supposed to do too and with your person. Oh. I'm him that's if it's all in the book. I don't have the book. But I don't know how to spell psychic. Do it. See. S.

Y. Oh, there we go. See a got it now. It. I don't know why I couldn't. Let's see. Let's see. No, spoke in accurately bonkers. Hang on a second. There was Lanny. No, Angela. No. No. Singing psychic. Oh my gosh. This would have been from years ago. This was like in the 90s. I would say mid 90s maybe. Francis from Bakersfield. Was it Francis? Francis. She was involved in an accident. Is it Francis? Yes. Francis Bakersville. It's her name. Okay, but she's from Texas. She's from Texas. Yes, that's her. She has to wait in 2009. Oh. When she had an incident with an 18 wheel lumber truck at back into her car while she was waiting outside a beauty parlor, the lumber crashed through the car, almost killed her, but it also concert have an out of body experience.

And after that experience, she said, shit psychic abilities. That's it. But being a country and western fan, she would see her predictions. Oh, yes. So that was why that is awesome. That's on the internet. It's true. Francis Bakers, Baker, Bakerville is her name. Okay. And yeah, she's cute. She's very cute. I can see a real nice guy, yeah. Look, a pivya don't lie. That's pretty good. Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do. No. And it would be like, we talked to her on the phone and then you could tell often the distance was the music and then she would say it was just right. It was so primitive. It was so good though. It always synced up. Right. It was like, okay. It's playing. Oh, those were days. I tell you. Yes. A lot of good days. Well, I have to find that. The singing. And then I remember I had like a Freudian slip at the end. I said, oh, well, you've been great.

And once again, this is the syncing psychic. I mean, singing psychic. I do not know. I thought it was just kind of a disaster. Right. Sometimes the worst things are the best things. They turn out to be the good one. Laurie, listen to her number 16, Frieda. She won a Frieda one time. Hey. We used to do that every Friday. We would do after the show. We finished the show. We were tired. Fridays are hard. Even back then, finished the show. Then we go pick up the doughnuts. Yes. And then we'd make the deliveries to all the different businesses and some of them they'd be all over the place. We'd get back to the station around 12, 30. And we're just. We're just. And Ken out of the goodness of his heart, he was usually driving the van. And I was usually falling asleep. I'd had enough. And once in a while, we'd have like a promo person with us or something. But sometimes it was out in court line. We'd be in back at 150. And how many doughnuts would you eat?

And then how soon would that be a bad idea? Well, fair question. We would always have some. And who was the donut? Who made the donut? They were heavy doughnuts. Was it the donut prey? It was the donut cattle. The donut cattle. That's right. You know how heavy a cattle is. Yes. And there'd be times when if we had a longer drive and the doughnuts would be stacked, the boxes would be sagging. And then when we would take them into the businesses, and it was quite a moment for them. Like, oh, we've went donuts and oh, David and Ken are here. This is so great. And they'd come out. Well, the bottom of the box was had the oil steam. It's so true. It's so true. You were heavy your donut. Yeah. They were heavy. Yeah. Like the cake ones that I can pick. One of them, it was Apple Fritter. They were used. They used it. It was down in Pullman. They used it as a discus in the truck and field event.

Right. There were masks. They could fly. Anyhow. Yeah. That was a different time. People had to fax in their request. That's how long the boat was. It would fax in your on business letterhead. And they would come in and say, hey, we're Joe's auto body shop or whatever. We have seven of us here. We want donuts for Fritter and we pick winners. We pick one and go out there. We try to pick it. Didn't we do one business or a couple? I can't come out. We did. Where are times when we did three or four? I mean, there was there was always more than one. We try to look at the addresses and make it. Yeah, this is all before map quest, too. So we're just we're just going on. That's right. We're just like, OK, well, we think it's out here. Valley somewhere. I know Clarkson, we're not going down there. Why it's wrong with you people. OK. No. There were a couple of Christmas wish deliveries

that were very early in the morning and in questionable areas, whether it's anything. Why? We have the address and we think it's between this street and this street. It's dark. And then we're going to go live on the air and the dogs are barking and all this craziness is happening. And you're hoping to God, it's the right address. Otherwise you make it shot. It always started like we'd finished the letter. And so and so we really help out and everything. OK, now we have, we had different people that were the, one to Leslie Lo is our elf one year. And so and Leslie is standing by and you're ready to approach the door and yeah, I'm right here at the door and I'm ready to knock on you. It always be just like this. Be. What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? Let me get the dogs here. OK, so we at the hour away, we, I think we woke them up. Yeah, something huge. How many would see be? Mommy! Get your dad out. Get your dad out.

Every one of them would like that. Yeah, yeah. Scooter, no. No. They would be very quiet. Very, you wouldn't hear a sound. Oh, yeah, I'm not going to. And whispering and as soon as the dog, as soon as the knock on the door, you knew exactly how many dogs were in the house. You did. Then there's a gang of people on your porch. And then there's the person who's on the phone. Because I know, because I didn't do it. And I see my phone. And you start you back up away. And you sort of turn away. So it's not so loud. Oh, yeah, I see lights coming on now. Oh, the dog is so cute. And this is so cute. It's that noise, your dog, guys. He's fine. What can I do for you? Ah! The breakfast boys, and I have them on the phone. And then he was like, have the phone off. And then try to save yourself from the dogs. Oh, look at those cute jammies that you're not wearing. Yeah. Oh. Boom. Boom, everything turned out fine, I think. No, yeah. They took that too. I guess they wanted that too.

I know. Well, we don't know why. Laurie wrote a poem in one her free dose. Oh, we might have maybe that's what it was in a poem. Do we have for poems? It's kind of a reason why so people would get all creative. Yeah. I think if someone did write a poem, that's probably why she won. It's probably, oh, look at the, they put some work into this entry. What they did. Well. We had the worst joke Wednesday. That was fun. Have that in there. Freedom Friday. Ask anything Thursday. Remember that? Oh, yeah. People would ask all kind, we live phones. We would just go to the mall. We had no phone screen. Other people just call in. And they would ask all kinds of questions. Right. You would have hated it. They would ask all about your marriages and stuff. What? Yeah. Anything I haven't said already? I don't know. The first call we went to, the guy said, why do you guys have a phone screener? Then we had to go into that. And then you said the effort to hung up. Yeah.

We should do that again. We should do the take phone calls. Why don't we do that? I don't know. I think we should do that instead of the envelope of English. I think we should just open up the phone lines and have people ask us whatever they want. Well, if we don't want to answer, we just hang up. The. Just, oh, we had a time. And then just hang up. And how many marriages I, oh, I'm sorry, Kim. We have lost you. That's too bad. If we're like in junior high, if we don't, we say, duh. Yeah. What? What adult does that? Duh. What? Duh. No duh. I hang out with a lot of kids. That's why. Well, kids, yeah. Oh, on Facebook, yeah, we used to do that too. Oh, that's right. Well, we actually did a lot of fieldos here. We did do those my first time. Yeah. Yeah. Facebook, yeah. That it. Quinn, I think, had to be part of the Facebook fights. That's right. That's right. Yeah. Well, let's do this.

We'll do a break here. And then we'll, we'll extend the hot topics. And then if you want, we could, we just say, all right, people can call in. We can just answer phones. Or you could, you could ask us to do a text. Oh, that's a better way. Yeah. Why don't we think about that? A little question time. Mm-hmm. Yeah. If we don't like the question, we'll read it. Da. Da. I'm scroll. I'm scroll. Who says, uh, uh, uh. All right. We'll be back, we'll be back after this break. This is the David Mollie show from the New America studio. Entertainment news brought to you by Golden Rule Break. Yeah, let's do entertainment news real quick. We're going to make this very quick because we're going to get into hot topics and we got some other stuff we got to fit in. But people need to know and we're the people that need to tell the people that need to know what they need to know.

Yeah. Sydney Swini, Spokane Zone, Sydney Swini. Yeah. Have you heard about this? No, what? Totally naked. What? Totally naked. Well, I mean, seeing you for a day. I have not seen you for a long time. Well, there you go. I watched the very first episode because I thought I probably should relate and it was too much. It drove me away. I think it's a young person's thing. There's no part of you for you that was designed for either of you. Correct. Was it designed for you? More so. I mean, not. Yeah. It's. I just don't know that I it's probably more for the younger set. Yes, that's right. It's highly disturbing so it really shouldn't be for the younger set. So I'm going to say people in their 20s, maybe. Well, Sydney Swini is doing ads for a new trading app called Novig and she's completely naked in these things.

However, they have the naughty parts strategically covered with sports equipment. Oh. I thought they'd have one. She's not naked. She's. She's. But mostly. Yeah. But when she shot it, she was. They say the point of the ad is that Novig is a stripped down bedding site because it's only for sports. They say they have no wagering on wars, death or politics. Right. All those weird like. So, but isn't. Aren't a lot of them just sports. A lot of them are, but there are some there's the ones that are making the big money now where you can bet on all kinds of crazy. Anything. Yeah. That shouldn't be that. That seems crazy because that seems like you could make things happen, especially can't be better on like assassinations and stuff like that. Like, maybe. Yeah. Weird stuff. Yeah.

There's so many of those apps now. She actually has a stake in the Novig. Betty's. And then she has that. And I don't have the information here, but the that lingerie site, they said she was going to make a billion dollars with a bill with a B. Yeah. Spoke hands on Sydney. And then she sold her bathwater too. Remember that? A something. I love seeing somebody young like that. She is beautiful and she's talented. But she's being so smart. She is capitalizing because you know, careers don't last forever. Right. You're looks don't last forever. But this is the kind of thing where you create a base where if you want to stop working, if you want to do it every hell you want to do, if the work dries up, if something goes weird, you're set smart. Very smart. Very smart. And she's our. So Spoke hand has a million. I know. Another one. And she grew up with all the stuff we were talking about in the last segment.

She's so proud of this area. I love it. Yeah. I got the Emmys on Sunday night. Oh, that's right. And then you also have the, oh, Saturday live. Did you see the thing? No. They have the new. Oh, dude. I think they have the first four weeks. Oh, hang on. This is one of my favorite announcements. Okay. So September 26th. Okay. And we have Jaylen Brudinson and cat sai. Musical guests, musical guest. That's, I. October 3rd. I think she's making her third appearance as host Dakota Johnson. Hey. And musical guest turn style. They're breaking him out. be hosting on October 10th. I like Shane Gillis. And that's the, that's the night of your event, safety net event.

Oh, yeah. So we're going to your event will stumble. Oh, yeah. You're watching the recorded Saturday night live. Have you watched tires at all, Ken? The show called tires. That's it. I have. Yeah. Not a shame. He's one of those. I think I saw trailer for that. He's working at a tire shop. Right. Yeah. Jalen is a, he's a basketball player. The Jalen Brunson person is an American person. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Well, I hope he's funny. Well, it's New York and they won the. Yeah. And that's right. Right before the start of the NBA season. Right. Rosalia will be the musical guest with Shane Gillis. And then October 31st, they'll have two weeks off. And then October 31st, Halloween night. Indie Navarat. She is an American actress. She began her career short roles in the Netflix 13 reasons why.

And then she is part of the Superman and Lois series. Okay. And then Gracie Abrams will be the musical guest. I remember 13 reasons. So those are your, that's sorry, they just announced that. And then there was one other thing. Oh, close to one and a half million people entered the pre sale ticket queue yesterday for Miley Cyrus. Oh, wow. She's doing two shows at the Hollywood Bowl. She set a new record for the most people wanting tickets. And the Hollywood Bowl, that what is that? It's not very big. Five thousand maybe not a Colosseum. So they got maybe 50,000 for two shows. And then you have one and a half million people trying to get those and it's people not entry. So it's right. That's legit. For Miley. So that's good, right? Yeah. Yeah, you ready for hot topics?

So hot topics. Drought to you by Clark's tire and automotive center. I think you'll like some of these birthdays today. Ryan Philippi has a birthday today. 52. Okay. Guy Richie. He was married to Madonna. Yep. And then they got it forced. Did you hear that, Molly? Sometimes it doesn't work out. Ryan Philippi was married to Reese Witherspoon back when she had her spoon. Then she dropped spoon and then he's then the divorce to you. Reese without Ryan. Why they're without? And then I will pause. I'll let Molly do it. But then Ken can jump in because you probably have more stories. Getting his 63rd birthday today. Hall of Fame baseball pitcher Randy Johnson better known as the big unit. The big unit. Very good. Big. Big. Big. Tall guy. Yeah. Six foot. 10. Six 10. Six times. Yeah. 10. Long hair. And Truffauts, he once killed a bird throwing a pitch. He exploded a bird.

Yeah. Yeah. Bad timing on the birds part. Yeah. You actually looked bad. Like the bike. That was going to be a strike. Yeah. And all of a sudden there's feathers everywhere. What did they call that? That's terrible. A no pitch. There's probably a. I that's a very good. I don't know how they rule something like that. You'd have to be interference. Do over. Right. But it was the most bizarre thing. 100% true story. During a real game. He's pitching and a bird flies. I mean, what are the timing of this? Yeah. Crazy. Unbelievable. The bird flies through the path and the ball hit. I mean, he threw fastballs. Yeah. And it hit. And all you just see is just feathers going everywhere. Yeah. Exploded a bird. That. That would turn my stomach. I don't know if I could. Can eat after that. There was a guy the other day. And he there was a pit. He was a pitcher and it. It came back at him and he kicked the ball. Did you see it? He kicked the ball up into his hand and then threw it.

Oh, it popped out. Like he tried to kick it or it just happened to. It just instinct. It was like. So the the batter hits it right back at him and he turns. And the way he did it, it kind of hit his shoe and it kicked it. And it came right to his hand and then he threw it to his back. It was pretty amazing. It looked like a good trick. Pretty good for him. Remember when Nate Bargazzi was on a settle and he was just trying to golf. And he kept killing animals. That was a funny. Very funny. Joe Perry. From Erasmus. Right. Guitarist for Erasmus 76 today. Yeah, Erasmus. Bill O'Reilly. Bill O'Reilly. No, you're thinking of Pat O'Brien. Pat O'Brien's better story when Ken does Pat O'Brien. Yeah. But this is Bill O'Reilly. Bill O'Reilly. I'm not going to say that. I'm not going to say that. I'm not going to say that. I'm not going to say that. That's Bill O'Reilly. Bill O'Reilly. Is this still on? Well, he's on like, he's like on the end of that. One of the other ones, yeah.

I don't think he's on a channel anymore. And then Danny Hutton. All right. Celebrity is 84th birthday today from the World of Music. Mm-hmm. Three dollars for anyone that can identify Danny Hutton. Mm-hmm. Don't, don't, don't, she's cheating. Don't, she's cheating. I'm going to say, it's a three-dog diet. Yes. Are you kidding? Yes. Did you know that? I know I did not. I just feel good. Very good. And all those guys are in their 80s. Yeah. They had three different lead singers. Okay. But he, I think he's the only one still alive that were the, there's band members that are alive. Yeah. But they had three guys that, that sang. Mm-hmm. Well, he, he did one. He did Mama told me not to come. Oh wow. And then he did Old Fashioned Love Song. Old Fashioned Love Song. I feel very proud. Very proud. Yeah. They had a string of hits. Mama told me not to come. Mm-hmm. Right. Just a no fashion love song. What I'm sure they wrote for you and me.

Do, do, do, do, do, do, do. Fun fact from Andy that Randy Johnson, the big unit, is a drummer too. Really? Same or, or Andy, are you talking about a different, Randy Johnson or that Randy Johnson? Wow. I had not heard he was a drummer. I wouldn't, I could see that maybe. Mm-hmm. Tall drummer. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I get Linky. Yeah. Arnold Palmer. No longer with us. World of Paul. Right. Famous for his drink. Kind of the, when he passed away, they did an autopsy. He's 50% lemonade. I don't think that's what they said. Half and a half. Oh. Yeah. He said you're a fan of him. And Roger Maris, also no longer with us, but he was for the longest time, and the only guy that's, uh, Royde Free, uh, hit the most home runs in one season. Correct. Yeah. 61 in 1961, and then that record helped stood forever

until all the Royde people came in, and then they were, they were at home runs that crazy. They had 61 home runs in like August or something. Yeah. Yeah. Like what's going on here? Yeah. Yeah. I think that's what I think it's going to be. I think it's going to be a record from Royde land. Uh, 73, right? Is it wrong? I was going to say 73 or 4. Oh. Something like that. Uh, here's one that's hard to understand. So take it back to 1939. Again, it's different time. A lot of craziness going on in the world. 39. But Canada. Canada. Yeah. They declare war on Germany. Canada. Do they? They're a boot tired of all of this. Right. Mr. Hitler. We are tired of it. Saddle up. That's. They had it. They had their foresees. Everybody turned. And we've talked about this before. It's crazy that this happened in 1977. 1977. Oh. We were all alive in 1977. Oh, yeah. And we thought it does a pretty civilized world.

And we're talking about a civilized country like France. Right. Uh, this was the day that they used the guillotine on somebody. The last time. The last one more for the different. Oh. This one more time. Yeah. And then. 70. Yeah. Yeah. 70. I thought you were like disco disco. No. Stand up. Stand up. Yeah. We're all dancing the disco songs. Yeah. And that's sad. Yeah. It seems like there should be a better way. Yeah. 38 years ago today Van Halens, when it's love hit number five on the singles chart. Like that song. Robert Palmer is simply irresistible. Peaked at number two. And the number one song at that time. 1988. Yes. Guns and roses. We child of mine. I was going to go with Whitney Houston, but yeah, Guns and roses.

You. That's good. I'm just looking at pictures of the big unit hanging out and playing with rush and other bands. Really? Yeah. Wow. So he's a legit drummer. And Getty Lee is obsessed with baseball. Obsessed. He that is like his. Oh, he loves baseball. And so for him to get to hang out with Randy Johnson would have been that that would have been pretty huge for him. There's pictures of it. So he must be a blue J fan then Uber. Um, maybe. Yeah. Why just because he's Canadian. He can't like an American team. Well, there's a. A stereotype much. It's the only. It's the only team they have. They used to have the expo's way back in the day. Right. Hey, Randy Johnson originally an expo. Really? He was. Yeah. See, that was a Canadian team. Wasn't it? Yeah. Yeah. Montreal. And then the blue J's the only one said it left. Yep. And then he went to the car. And on last night, he was thinking about everybody.

And when I was driving, I was. On something called the radio. And Tom Sawyer came on. Yeah. And I said, this might be the greatest intro ever. It's pretty. Amazing. And I remember you saying, sometimes, when you're playing the drums to rush. Yeah. It's like I got to go off the window. I got to hit the symbol. It's like, hey, I got to go for the hat. Man, this drunk is huge. I got to go outside. That's just all right. Doesn't work too well in the winter, but summertime. Oh, God, hey, you got to hit that high hat. I don't care. It's true because you're going to be a little bit of a bitch. Yeah. You got to slap it. That was on our way home from Coralane Monday. That was a Kevin McLeese. I know. And Jake was in the car too. And we were laughing so hard because he was, and he was a good drummer. So he actually could mimic all of the motions. Same with my brother, like every single one they knew. To get there, they get there.

And then he was like, oh, no, rolling the window. He had to take it outside because he just couldn't. That one was going to be too hard to read. It can't be contained. And he was driving at the time. So he's driving and still that. That's impressive. But the way he, I remember, he was like, well, this isn't going to work. I'm going to get out of the way. This is going to happen. It's holding me up here. But they do have the greatest controls. Oh, my God. Well, I share the radio and lime light all along. I was a little Johnny come lately to rush. I always liked him. I didn't have anything against him. But your passion for rush. Yeah. Like I didn't quite understand until, until later. Yeah. And then you run into younger people. And that they weren't even born when rush was done making new music. And they still say, oh, rush, they're great. I love rush.

And they're prog rock. There's a picture of Getty Lee throwing out the first pitch of the Toronto's opener. This was in 2013. So it says rush is Getty Lee reveals plan to fix his favorite baseball team. So I think he got up and involved. I think he actually may have become like part owner or something. You can see that. But I like he's obsessed with baseball. It was part of his book. His very long book that I listened to all of it. Well, and that's not to get too baseballly, but Ken would know that American League East Division is insane. Because you have the Yankees who spend more money than anybody. You got the Red Sox. Spend a lot of money and great history. And then the race who are winning the division, that's Derek Jeter. He took a, he's running that whole thing. And he knows baseball. Then you got Toronto as the only Canadian team. And they're pumping money into that thing like crazy. And they're fan base. Yeah. So, and then there's Baltimore. And they're, you know, Baltimore is in last place, I believe.

And they're like 500. Oh, wow. The whole division is just, you know. Right. And I believe in our division, the West, like there used to two games over or something. Yeah. All the years that we needed to get a little red hot. Yeah. Yeah. If we finished four games over 500, you'd win the division this year. But not going to happen. Who will win this division? The Astros, I think, right? Probably. No. We don't. The strangers are in there too. It's like Houston, Texas, then the Mariners. And I don't know who else. How do we end up in a division with the two Texas teams? That's the only thing that's West. Yeah. The Rockies. They're in the national league. Angels. Angels are in our division. And Dodgers. Angels, Dodgers are in the national league. Padres and Dodgers. Chants.

How are my twins doing? They were right around 500. They got to go, they, much like the Mariners, they have to win the division to get into the playoffs because the divisions are so terrible. Like all of the wild cards will come from the American league east. Yeah. Like the Red Sox or in, Yankees are in, and the Rays are win the division. They're in a tough division in baseball. A lot of, a lot of money being spent. And speaking of baseball, it was on the stay in 1989. This is still pretty impressive. Deon Sanders was now the football coach at Colorado University. Right. But back in his day, he was an amazing athlete. He made sports history becoming the only person to hit a home run in a major league game and score a touchdown in an NFL game in the same week. That's, that is just unbelievable. Unbelievable. September 6, 1989, he had a home run for the New York Yankees. Then four days later, this day, the 10th,

he ran a punt back 68 yards and scored a touchdown for the Atlanta Falcons. That's pretty amazing. That is amazing. Into the bow Jackson. Yeah, I still maintain bow Jackson was, but bow Jackson was an all star in both sports. Oh, that's true. Unbelievable. Is it it nobody knows bow? No, bow knows. Yeah, bow knows. Bonus. Hey, can I have a hot tip for you for a little quick documentary? It's Mr. Teab, I pity the full documentary. On that, like, it's only 48 minutes long. It's really good. It's now training. It's like the number three thing on there. So it's, I think you guys, if I was really like it. I like it. I mean, the whole rocky thing. Yeah, and I know that was kind of early where he came up, how he became friends with whole Colgan, because they met doing the rocky thing. And then they went and did a ton of wrestling together. But yeah, it's a good, it's a good quick watch.

It's on my, it's on my list, my mental list on my, I think down. Hey, I had a quick watch last night. It was your movie, Mark. Oh, did you watch my movie? Goodbye, Cecil. Yeah. I love that. Thank you. And it was so tight and professionally done. Yeah, it was very perfect. Yeah. It was like, this is a, this is a short. Thank you. I really enjoyed that and your brother and their mom and you and Ellen. Yeah. Well, thanks for watching it. Thanks to God you liked it. Thank you. We're sending it into the festivals right now. We're waiting to see. I think we start hearing like early December if we get into. So what we saw, what you sent us is that, that is exactly as it's being sent out. Like, because you were talking about all these different cuts and all the other things. What you guys saw is, should be the fun. The only difference, I don't know if you saw the beginning was that me and Steve was at our pictures at the beginning.

So we have a logo that didn't make it onto the one that I gave. Oh, yeah. But other than that, it's, yeah, it's, it's, it's set. So we're getting good response from good people. So hopefully it'll be good. And then we're thinking about doing some kind of premiere late October here. Oh. Because we can do that and still be eligible for. So we put in at Sundance, which is like, you know, and then Aspen and Palm Springs and LA and Seattle and just different, different, so testable. So let's see. We're excited. We may have on the road. And then how will you be notified? Is it just a random time? Or is there set times when they announce? I think it's, there's deadlines. So by December 4th, and I don't know if you may, you can be notified up until December 4th. And that's the last day. Or if that's when they start notifying, but for like Sundance is December 4th, then there's one that's December 15th, then there's one that's January. So they have a cutoff date where you'll hear by then. And then I think you know, because we had another movie

that we had in a festival, and we won all these little awards. But we didn't go to any of them because we weren't going to fly. We just, at this time, I think, well, if it's, especially if it's like a Sundance situation, we'll all go. Oh, you figure out a way to go there. Yeah. So fingers crossed. We hope they like it. But yeah, right now we can't have it streaming out there, but we may do it primarily. And then we would invite listeners and stuff. I loved the set as well. It was beautiful. It was done Hamilton's listening. Oh my gosh. Looks awesome. Thanks, John. Well done. Thank you. Very well. Movie maker. Yeah, she makes movies now. Yeah, I will. I'm a writer. No. Sometimes. Speaking of movies, they made two movies out of the X files. And the X files premiered on Fox on this day in 1993, ran for nine seasons. Yeah. I remember it was a hot thing for a while. I remember going to the first movie, I think. So was the series first, then they made movies that,

right, ran for nine seasons, then returned for two movies and two additional seasons. Oh, wow. So that a good run with it. I was a little Johnny come lately to the X files. That was appointment television. It was Sunday nights and I worked. I remember I worked as a, as a, they call a food runner. So you never knew how long you were going to be on. So they might need you till six, they might not need you till eight. Sometimes they'll get a rush and you have to stay. But it's one of those positions where as soon as you're done, you clock out and you can go. So my job was to get to go food and then run to my friends apartment who lived really close to my work. And then, but sometimes it would be like 10 after eight or whatever. It was like, oh my god, we've missed 10 minutes of the X files. Because nobody had, yeah, I'm not a hoarder, but it wasn't working the right way. It was very exciting to watch that. That a good run with that. Yeah, they did. 28 years ago today in 1998, this was the day that President Clinton met with the members of the cabinet.

And he apologized. And he asked for forgiveness. And then he promised that he would be gonna, he's gonna become a better band. This is after the whole Monaco, Lewinsky situation. Oh, yes. It says right here, and I don't know how you determine like first base is what? That's kissing, right? Yeah. What second base? Pun kissing. Okay. They said he got the third base. Oh, you know what that is. That's that's that's getting very intimate. We know what the home run is. Yeah. Right. I would argue that third base is more intimate than the home run. Well, yeah. I don't know. Third base seems like it. You know, anyway, that's about all I got. Mm hmm. And then we have more football tonight. We have the Australian, the Australian game. Hey, your son, is he still a Rams fan? He is still a Rams fan. Oh, he'll be on this one, right?

Rams at 49 or so. We're there in a soccer field down there. Getting ready to go. Who is the Rams? Rams. Oh, in Australia, right, right. So what time and when will that air here? Five thirty hour time on Netflix. Five thirty in the morning. They're playing. Yeah, I think it's. It's 13 hours. The next day ahead, right? But it's still 13 hours difference. So it'd be 6 30 in the morning. I think it's like 13 hours difference. Well, I think I checked that. I thought it was like 19 or something. Oh, is it that many? I don't know. I know. I'm serious, but I'm sure whatever. I mean, it has to be in the realm of things. It's got to be maybe afternoon or something. I would think so. Yeah. I did hear a little story. One of the 49er coaches on the flight actually missed his birthday because they lost it. Oh, yeah. So they had a little birthday thing for him, but interesting.

That's right. You lose a day going over and then you have you have the same day twice coming back. And that is that is that is that is rough. Oh, tough on the day. And I believe the Rams are a three and a half point favorite much like the Seahawks were last night. Rocked. Yeah. So New York is 14 hours behind Sydney. So then we're 17 hours. No, I don't know how to do it. Well, this is in Melbourne. So maybe it might have a different time in Melbourne. It wouldn't be more than an hour difference then. Well, it's trying to be a country. So no, I know, but that's so weird. Anyway, it's 530 hour time on Netflix ride. That's crazy. And you have Rams playing tonight. My defense. I have Rams playing tonight. And I'm playing against a ram tonight. All I don't think I have any other Rams players besides.

But I did have the guy last night who scored all the points. For the. Yeah, I don't have a. Yeah, I just have the Rams defense. I have a Joe Flacco is one of my backup quarterback. Is he still playing? Yes, he is. Is he? Yes, he is. Hey, you leave him alone. They just form him out to teams when everybody gets hurt. Yeah, the season. Huh. Hey, is it a memo? Oh, I like Joe Flacco. Yeah. Good solid man. Late night tonight, Jimmy Fallon has Nicole Kidman. And Jimmy Kimmel has Gail Gatoot. Gatoot. And that's what we do know at this hour. Yeah, and football returns. Yep, so we go. What else do you want to do? I think we should take a break. And I'm going to draw the names for the fair winner. Oh, yes. And then we could do it. There's a couple questions on the text lines for us. Oh, perfect. Hello. Okay, let's do that. I like your, I like your thinking.

Okay. Back after a break, the David Mollie Show continues from the New America studio. We now return to the Dave and Molly show. Hey, welcome back everybody. David Mollie Show continues. Dave Mollie, Ken. Dave Ken and Molly. Ken Mollie, Dave. Mm-hmm. Ken, Ken, Molly, Dave. Right. Ken, Molly, Ken, Dave, Molly, Ken. Right. Whatever, whatever. How are you going to do it? I like Dave Kenna and Molly Allen. Yeah. Yeah. You're named Dave Kenna. Yeah. They thought I was a Hawaiian. They said, are you Dave Kenna, Molly? Oh, Dave Kenna, Molly. Dave Ken and Molly. Yeah. All three of us. Anywho. Separate. You are winners. Oh, yeah. We have the fair one. We had four pair of tickets give away for the Interstate Fair. It starts tomorrow. Yes. And you should have been contacted,

but I will make sure that you're contacted, but the winners and these are random. They are chosen by the computer. I heard the things spinning around. That was cool. It's very cool. So Cassie, number 183. Yvonne, number 68. Thad, number 12. And Megan. Those are the winners. Hey. Off to the front door. And they're all in the power to have a- They do that right? Yeah. Yeah. That's a- Okay. So those are the winners. Anyway, I contacted you via the text line. via the text line. Okay. Yes. So congratulations. Congratulations. Those are the winners. Winners have notified. Cassie Thad, Yvonne, and Megan. Boom. You should have a little thing that says, you won tickets to the fair. We need your full name and email address. Sounds good. And we'll be out of the fair tomorrow. Yeah, we will. Drinking liquor. Ooh. A little brew pot by her.

Yeah. Yeah. It's a speakeasy. Speakeasy. We got all the hard drinks in their spirits. Well, I think- Yeah, you're going to have to man up. Start drinking spirits. Ah. Man up. I don't know. I don't know. All right. We have a quick question from Shannon. Okay. She says, for question for Dave Cannon, Molly, with the holidays coming, does your family draw names for gifts? So what's your favorite gift to give and what works for any adult? Wow, Shannon, you're early on this Christmas thing. Boy. We used to do the- Well, we only have three kids, but with their partners, we used to draw names, but we just kind of let that go. We're letting them decide what they want to do. Oh. Meaning like they- Meaning like between them, the siblings. Yeah. They want to handle it. Like you get them all gifts, but then they get to decide between them what they want to do. Just get some actual gifts, but I like to go on Amazon and then order up like a treat gift.

Ah. Like a six pound bag of beef jerky. Oh, I got- Oh, oh, oh. Stuff like that. Yeah. I know you're- That's a great price. Yeah. It's like, why not? We don't- If all of our years ago, when all of our family was together, and we were all going to be at Christmas, we did that, where we drew a name, and then you buy one nice gift for one person, rather than trying to get something for everyone. Everybody. But in general, we just got a lot of gifts for my mom. Ha. And we like it that way. Thank you, mom. Not bad way to do it. Yeah. Yeah, let's just do it that way. But we all get gifts for each other. I- Every Christmas, they say the same thing. You know what? I'm cutting back this year. The kids don't need anything. It's fine. And then I find myself like the jerk, the guy who's gonna ask Christmas Eve, and then they need this. And then they're gonna need this. Oh, wait, I need this too. Hang on. Oh, that looks good. That's it. No. How about you guys? I'd say, yeah, it's like a gift card, you know.

Just give gifts for each other. Yeah, you just try to keep it. But like in the heyday, I'm talking- Look, like go back to when we had jobs and stuff and everything was good. Like we all had regular money coming in. Yeah, it was still a lot of just gift cards. You know, Christmas for us, when my mom passed away, that was kind of the, she was the Christmas person. And she, oh, and at some point, we would all make our way back home and depending on when everybody was there, that's when Christmas was. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It could be in December 23rd. It could be December 28th. It could be whatever. That's, that was with real, wrapped presents and all that kind of stuff. So I have been threatening to go to the Bahamas for Christmas for decades. Here's why though, because it's so it's, there's a lot of just function like these kids are here, this kids, I never get to have all the grandkids. And then this person can be in the room with that person, with that person, with that person, blah, blah, blah, blah. So really it's me and my mom,

and we're like, well, what do we want to do? What do we do now? What do we do now? What do we, I keep saying, that's Bahamas. Bahamas, let's just go. Let's run away. Has she been to the Bahamas? Well, we've been to Bahamas. It's just, it's just a general, like I don't actually want to go to the Bahamas. I'm just saying, like, let's just go somewhere. Let's run away. Like, let's not, because it ends up being so much work for us. We're the ones getting all the presents and wrapping all the presents and spending all the money. And making sure everybody is fine. I'm just kind of like, it's supposed to be at my house this year, but we'll see. I had some friends that, their deal is they would always go, well, they still do it. They go to Mexico, the week before Christmas, but they come back, usually Christmas Eve. Oh, wow. And I did that one time with them, with the kids. And they said, it's a whole system. That's when I converted over to the forever tree. Yeah. Because it's like you've been at, you have to have a forever tree and then you really need to have everything done by the time you leave. Because when you come back, where you go. And then you get back,

like, Christmas Eve in the middle of the night. Yeah. Interesting. I always liked that, though. I thought that was great. Our funnest Christmas ever as a family, we went to Cabo. Yeah. And then just told the kids, for which is Christmas. Yeah. And went with my sister and brother-in-law, and their son, it memories go low. Yeah. Yeah. There's something about that. I think it's hard when they're, you still have little ones. And you know, you want to create those memories for them. But if it was just, if it was just left up to me completely, I would give it a little more time. I would get some advice. I would have lots of things. I would guarantee I would give everybody their gifts and then I would go like, you know, I like to decorate the house. Or do... Yeah. Jodie. Oh, like that as well. Be in the spirit. Well. I just remember being on a beach. Eating fish tacos on Christmas day. Yeah. There was nothing weird about that. Yeah. It was just so bizarre. And you'll remember to the rest of your life. Yeah.

Yeah. There was people partying back there. Whenever you have. She just she she's living in Vancouver now, but the other day she was she went to Canaan Beach and she said hey I'm a can of each taking all these photos and everything and I said oh, I'm you know so glad that she said literally This is my favorite place on earth and it's all because that's where we had a lot of you know memories actually the the first time We restarted that was right after your accident Yeah, it was because my mom that was always my mom's thing and then when my mom passed away was like well That's we're not gonna do that anymore because that's that was kind of with her kind of her and then After after your accident was like I got to get out of town and so Went to Canaan Beach and then kind of restarted that Tradition it's a very it's a it is a special place. That's great Arc I kid well Jake actually has a lot of good memories when he was a kid We did a lot of can in beach. I lost that house in the divorce. Oh

Did you hear that mulling I told it to myself I guess you did hear it that I'ming my own self out But I love canaan Beach too. I remember going We've allowed to go to the Oregon coast and Newport and friends over there One time we went down to Moves to have yeah a little one love mobs and we're walking around and we run into A family from our own cold assack And you had no knowledge that they were gonna be there they had you know what are the odds of that somebody I we waved to as they go by and they're they're right here. Yeah, very odd One more question this from Jezzlin who is the first person you told when you got fired Well The first first person was you. Oh, yeah, it was a tax and then it was then it was Nadine then it was Kevin Parker

Then it was because I was driving yes, I was heading to an event and I spent the whole time on the phone. Yeah the whole time I think I Ken was Doing a test he was testing for something something was going on very important in Ken's world So I didn't even like I waited I think he was taking a test for some kind or doing it It was a doctor. It was like his physical So I waited and I think the first person I talked to was my mom and she dropped a lot of Oh, yeah, and then my friend Steve I was supposed to meet with him and I said I can't I'm not in very good shape And he came over anyways as come as say here until Ken gets here I'm on watch duty watch duty. So those were the first Yeah, you can first person I called well the first person I saw as I was driving out was a co-wall former co-worker and he seemed to be quite delighted about it all I think it was Really yeah, we was laughing and things and maybe he was laughing at the audacity of it

But then driving home the first person I called was a Record grab Who had Philip's just landed at the airport? Yeah, like at 1010. Oh my god I called him nice and and we were he was gonna come to the station do an afternoon interview I was gonna meet him down there and then go to the soundtrack and all that for Spoke hands got talent which Molly was a judge bar. I was a judge. Yeah, so I called him and I said um I am no longer employed Casey's here to go he was kind of astounded and I said I think our Music I'll be here. I don't know what's gonna happen. I don't have a key card or my emails, but good luck With show Yeah, it was really bizarre Then I think I got my sister at her She she came over and brought me a Wendy's frosty

Comfort food that is great now with you told Trish machine disbelief like that because that's what I got was my mom was like in disbelief Like she didn't actually believe me. I'm a lot of people asking questions like well, what yeah? My wife was not home. I got home first and I was just in the office. Oh no, and I I heard the garage door go up and I'm thinking oh So She she walks them back door and I said hey honey. I've got some news for Did you say it like that? I did really I was positive I said Today was the very last show for Dave Kenna Molly were no longer employed and she actually started laughing And then we then of course we just you know Then you just go on You go in your different and I kind of just unplugged and checked out for a while you in a little dark You went you went off of what they call it radio silent. Yeah, great for a while. Yeah

Yeah, just to kind of and then the news traveled pretty fast because I within Within a couple hours the my phone. Oh my god. I'm saying But see I didn't tell anybody else like I think Mary happened to call me and One of my jean or Mary. I can't where which friend happened to call me like hey, what are you doing? And I said and I told them and I burst into tears of course and they're like oh my god Oh my god, but I didn't mean to tell I wouldn't have but I had to go to that thing and I well I didn't say anything Except people on the inside like the guy from civic and and I because I looked awful And I said this is what's happening and then I saw a friend Ian he had to be there and he's just like I this is the worst thing I'm so I don't know what to say This is awkward And then the next day we put the post out but right away there wasn't I didn't really talk to a lot of people until that next day When I put the post out. Yeah, you know how I how I knew word travels fast

I think it was the eve that evening the same evening we were let go I got a I didn't really text my family out of town much Uh, but my sister from Moscow texted and it said candle I just got a text from your aunt Helen in Olympia. She's 93 And she wants to know if everything's okay She get on Facebook and find this out. You know We're travels Crazy the night of that thing My can my can may have been more angry than I was like he was so upset And the barben Toby were there and they were on fire and I I run it now. I'm just there and I'm the driver because I'm Responsibilities and I walk into a wall of like anger and alcohol Oh my god

So it was it was pretty awesome because they were up having cocktails together because they were all sitting up They're watching the show well and I remember coming back from I think I was in sand point And I'm coming back and by this time Yeah, and I didn't respond to any Yeah, I mean, but they were there had to been 200 of them. Yeah, and it word had got out Well, then when I get in the car Then it's it's just the bling bling you know how when you're Come through and then there were calls and then I'm on the phone. It was like non-stop Communication yeah There's a lot of that is that pours in yes, it was quite a time but look at us now everything is fine. Oh It's just fine podcast world yeah You know Good questions you guys you can keep the questions coming will still Bobby DL answer your question privately There's a question about the person and if they're still oh

I do fantasy pick-up and survivor leagues Look at you a lot I'm getting the hang of it now that I've done my first draft. I did Friday night. I'm like I ain't at home to my draft

My co-captid on the on the phone pull up my head is another old story But you remember when we used to have the fantasy league way back in the day and we had a plaque I still have the plaque do you somewhere? I have the plaque. I got to bring that in but and we we have the regular season champion Then the overall champion two different things And then the then the plaque got filled out and then it's like well now we need another plaque And then I don't we never did get another plaque, but the plaque that was filled out I have it There names on it. Yeah, my name's on multiple kids so as cans. Oh, yeah, I got one regular season once and then lost the overall Yeah, it's on the plaque and we had a we had a deal I can't remember what the entry fee was, but it was such such a uh You know a pride thing to win that deal We were spending money like crazy on trades like I buy so and so from for two hundred dollars. I mean was crazy

And you won you there you we'd never justify The amount of money because you're never gonna make it But it was like if you had just built these super teams just to say that you were the champion. Yeah Well, it's quite a time. Yeah, that was all digital right on your phone. Yeah Then you have to go snake And you have a you're drafting in nine picks. Oh my god Oh I have to scoot I have to leave here pretty fat. I am gonna make us a breakfast sandwich Oh, that's gonna be good. I'm hungry. I haven't really eaten today um, and then I got a scoot out to our friends at project beauty share They're giving us a huge donation for safety net and then I need to go take that to the warehouse So I need to go run out to the valley then I'm gonna come back because we have a picnic here. Yeah So I want to do that And then it's karate day. I'd like to get the doggy out for a walk and then I'll pick up the girls from school and take them to karate and hang out The use

Oh, yeah I don't know if Maui I don't know if there's gonna be a dog walk today. I mean, I just I have my me hurts I've got some ailments that I was like what did I do That I got a foot thing all of a sudden it felt like my foot was broken I'm like how did I break it? It was just there and then it goes why yeah, I don't as this is old I don't know. I don't want to I don't want to want you admit to it than everything
