Darious Williams Retires, Rams Gain Cap Space

Turning 33 this month, he spent six of those years with Los Angeles. Williams went undrafted out of UAB, but caught on with the Rams in 2018. After their Super Bowl win, he signed with the Jaguars, only to return to LA before the 2024 season on a three-year deal worth. $22.5 million. injuries kept him to just 24 regular season games over the last two years, though he started 10 pull season contests for the Rams. His career totals include 306 tackles, 12 interceptions, and 73 passes defended since becoming a full-time starter in 2020. The move frees up $7.5 million in cap space for the Rams and avoids a $500,000 roster bonus due next week. It follows their recent blockbuster trade with the cheese for star cornerback Trent McDuffie, sending away the 29th overall pick plus future.
