About this episode
This is a story of perseverance and heroism. One that will inspire you and ignite your spirit!
On this episode Jon Gordon talks with Daniel Rodriguez. Daniel was one of 53 American soldiers who battled over 400 enemy Taliban insurgents after they attacked in the 2009 battle of Kamdesh.
For more than 12 hours Daniel continued to fight with shrapnel embedded in his neck and leg and bullet fragments lodged in his shoulder.
The story of that battle was just released as a new movie called THE OUTPOST which stars Orlando Bloom, Scott Eastwood, Caleb Landry Jones, and Daniel portrays himself. It's a phenomenal movie, a must watch. It's available now in theaters and to stream online from Apple TV, Amazon, etc.
Daniel's story doesn't end there.
After his service in the military, Daniel went on to become a player for Clemson University Football and eventually signed as a free agent with the St. Louis Rams. How he caught the attention of Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney is amazing.

What Daniel shares about the movie and the actual experience in the battle is truly moving but his life and how he lives it will inspire you even more.
