I heard more bullshit in Philadelphia today than I've heard in my five years covering your football thing. There's so much bullshit going around. It's insane. So I read the transcript from the GQ interview with Hertz and then I watched it and there

1:06two completely different deliveries. Remember, an editor is going to put the transcript together and I would think that the Eagles probably had final say on it. And then when you watch the interview, it's completely different delivering the questionnaire, asking the questions, Hertz answering these aloof questions back in his aloof way. We're going to get to that here in a minute. There's no doubt. My takeaways are probably going to be as honest as you could possibly get and I, this is just how I saw this. And it's not going to be glazed donut. So again, as we get through the open here, I don't care what you're posting now. Here's my takeaway that GQ interview with Jalen Hertz showed me he's not a very approachable

2:11player. He's not a very personable guy and he puts winning above friendships. Okay, certain guys drive to a different destination a different way. Todd Brady had lifelong lasting relationships with Amidola, Edelman, Brankowski, all of those players. He was very close to him. Hertz doesn't look like he's close to anybody. Everyone asked a question about the Vante Smith. I can't wait to see his great skill out there on display. The guy was trying to get your relationship with him. Hertz went and go down that lane. There is no question that Jalen Hertz puts winning above friendship and above being close teammates. I take away and being in those locker rooms and being on a football team.

3:11I'm not saying it's bad. He's more like Aaron Rogers as a person than he is Tom Brady. He's more like that kind of guy. I'm not saying to the extreme where Rogers is an asshole. Hertz is not that, but Hertz borderlines being an asshole. And it comes off to me like he's not very personable. He has a problem with relationships with his teammates because you know why? What was the line? Leadership has a price to pay and that's friendships. He's not really all that wrong on that. But he doesn't have close relationships on that football team. Okay? He doesn't. And by the way, again, it's not really a rip. It's more of his personality in who he is and how he talks to people and how he sees people.

4:19The end goal for Jalen Hertz is to win ball games. And I completely believe that. And if that means sacrificing friends at the end of the day, Hertz doesn't give a shit. And you know, some folks are going to be more like Tom Brady and Brett Farve. And some folks are going to be like an Aaron Rogers. Where again, you're never going to get close to them. You're never going to be that guy. And I don't care what you take away. Now I see why some of the comments. Hertz is not very approachable. That interview was uncomfortable. The guy kept asking questions and Hertz kept asking questions back. Appreciate it brother. Thank you very much, March. Thanks again. So again, my takeaway was, I don't really think he comes off as a very close teammate.

5:22I think he looks like the way that the organization looks at players. Hey man, you're here for one common goal. And that's the win. There's really nothing wrong with that. But as a guy that's looking to build relationships with his football team, he's not your guy. That's not a guy that builds relationships. Because he knows at the end of the day, you may have to cut, move on. It's the business of the sport. So that's how he approaches the game. Jalen Hertz looks at people and says, hey, do your job. Go out and do your job. It's got nothing to do with me like in you. You played it. You played the win the game, not make friends.

6:23I fucking love it. Okay. Okay. March. I'm not telling you that his results are wrong. But when you watch that interview, that guy has very little friends on that team. And because he's a price to pay, there's a price to pay. Hey, it's okay to agree with that. That guy is not a very friendly guy. He doesn't make friends. And by the way, one of the things too that came off in that interview to me is that he so reserved. You know why? Why do you think Jalen Hertz is so reserved? He doesn't want anybody to know how he thinks. I'll tell you something else. He's got a little bit of Derek Jeter in him. Because that's how Derek Jeter acts. Not really a ton of friends. He's made more friends after his playing days than it seemed when he played.

7:25It's okay. But when you listen to him talk and you listen to him, how he talks about himself, how he talked about the end game of winning. What was it? The sacrifices of leadership. Okay. Let's see here. What did he write down here? We wrote this down. A price for success. Exactly right. Okay. And that's exactly what he does. There's a price for success. Jalen Hertz, his relationship with AJ Brown fell apart because the more Jalen won, the less that friendship meant to him. AJ didn't like that. A lot of players wouldn't. However, you can't argue with the guy's success, with the team and with how the team has

8:28been constructed. So the interview came off to me again as the guys committed to winning. He's not committed to anybody on that football team. That's your job to be committed to your gig. And for him to be the leader of the team, who cares about friendships? That's how that came off. That's his winning formula. He's more like Rogers as a person. Okay. Then he is like a Brady. Brady wanted to be the greatest teammate. Okay. I'm the planet to his teammates. That was Brady's formula. What's to be a great teammate? That's not Hertz's formula. Hertz's formula is to do whatever it takes that the organization he trusts then, which

9:30it seems he does. He's going to put him in a position to win. And that's how he, that's how he came off. He's in the loop, dude. He's not very personal. He doesn't have a very good personality. He struggles with it. That's okay. Not everybody. Joe Montana wasn't the best in public or dealing with people like that in public. He was kind of an aloof guy too. Joe was like that as well. Okay. I mean, look, under the day here, this comes down to the more winning, the more pressure that Hertz has to win. So let's chance you're going to become friends with this guy. This guy doesn't really want friends. Sales, I understand your take football is a business again.

10:33I'm not saying he's wrong. That's my takeaway on that visual interview. I understand your, your take football is a business. The jail in Hertz treats it like that. He does. He's that guy who won't go out for a beer after work, correct? A friendly or pleasant, but the guys are not friends. That's right. That's who he is. Again, it's not a wrong approach. AJ didn't like putting a bandaid on problems instead of solving them. He knew if they couldn't run the ball, it was going to go downhill. He had to see a little bit. So you know where Bella check got all got moving off players from it was Bill was he moved off the guys before they declined.

11:33Correct. Yes. Again, end of the day here. Jalen Hertz is not looking for buddies on that team. It's okay. I mean, that's how some quarterbacks deal with that. Most quarterbacks are not very approachable. He's not. You're never going to get warm and fuzzy from Jalen Hertz. Todd Brady went out of his way to be the greatest teammate he could be. I'm not saying that teammates don't love playing with them. I'm just saying teammates like Jalen Hertz is not a guy you want to go out to dinner with. I just spark up a conversation about things. He's just not that guy. That's okay. There's many guys in the league like that. Okay. And hey, some of you may think this is a it's not a rip.

12:39That's his formula for success. Okay. I don't believe that. I think they're really I think they're friendly, not friends. I think they're very friendly. I don't come off when asked the question, hey, your friend now is going to be the number one. He goes on really looking forward to him going out and putting his skills on display. And wouldn't expand on their relationship. He never talked about one relationship he has on the Philadelphia Eagles or any relationship that he's ever built. And the guy tried asking him the questions on it. It's okay. He's just not a very good personable guy. And like he says, there's a price to pay for success. And that's how he's doing it.

13:41Yeah, I don't like it because when shit goes bad, he isolates himself from the team. Correct. Sills, he doesn't talk about his personal life. He doesn't talk about any relationship he has with anybody on his football team either. I get it. I saw Brady and Grant doing videos always. I saw them out together. I saw them doing TikToks after they would win games. They would have a bunch of fun. Listen, it's just a different way of getting a place. Prince, he just doesn't, he's not the closest teammate. There's guys like that in the league. He was only line dancing at Smeaty's wedding. Okay, you're right. The interview came off like he's best friends with everyone on the team. But an idiot.

14:43Sills not to bring up AJ. He is yesterday's news. Do you think he was jealous of Barclay success in 24? He was at the main dude. No, I think because Jalen hurts new the way to win the football team and the way to win games was through Barclay and not through him. I think that's what fractured the relationship. Because since Barclay's been on the football team, there's been way more success. There's been more success in the front end or excuse me, would you not agree Mr. Hill? There's been more success in the back two years of the four years than in the front two years with Barclay being on the football team. Personal is business and business is personal. Okay. Hey, by the way, however you saw the interview is to each his own.

15:47Sills the only issue that with that approach is that when you need to call on a guy to give more, it's hard for it's hard to do it for someone aloof. They will give more for a friend because it's personal. That's right. That's why AJ shut down. Hurts wasn't going to go out of his way to motivate AJ Brown. That's on the quarterback and the coach. Hurts wasn't going to go out of his way. If AJ doesn't want to do it, that's on AJ. There's a part of me that says, Hurts ain't wrong. Bro you're a professional. You got to show up and play. You got to show up and be a pro. This isn't like daycare center. That's not Jail of Job to catch your ass, but it is in a way. Okay. I mean, when needed to be motivated, Hurts wasn't going to go out of his way.

16:50It's not who that guy is. Just not going to do it. You got to show if you want the brotherhood for a team and all that. AJ's a grown ass man. Motivate yourself. I agree. I completely agree. Hey, like I said, many of you are going to see that interview through Rose color or Eagle color glasses. I'm going to tell you as the next player and friend of other teammates on how I see that quarterback. And if you want to go down another lane, that's fine. To each his own will agree to disagree. More of a story if he was able to pass the ball efficiently, every problem on offense

17:52would not exist or even show signs of improvement or running. Yes. Yes. I'd rather be a loner and win playoff games and championships than be joking and playing with teammates and bars and girls toys and not winning meaningful games. Hey, that right cowboy fans. Not a bad take. Like I said, Marsh. Some people are going to look at that interview and see it at their for way. And I'm looking at objectively here. I'm not telling you it's a bad way. I'm telling you that guy doesn't give a shit about friends. That guy cares about winning games and he'll sacrifice relationships. Brady sacrifice personal relationships. He never sacrificed teammates.

18:53Guy. It's just all all things can be true too. Yes, as a fan and as an organization, you'll love hurts his mindset. If AJ had it, how he wanted it, we don't get to the soup. We don't get to that super bowl and win it. Okay. SS. I'm not telling you. I've read anything wrong with Jalen Hertz. I'm just telling you how he came off to me. And I told you priority number one for him is winning. Okay. So it hurts isn't wrong, but I find it hard to believe. He won't find a buffer to smooth out the personal stuff as long as he wins will be fine.

19:54But if he doesn't, it can turn on him quickly. And it will. And it will. They would have still got to the super bowl. It hurts spread the ball around. No, I don't think so. Because of 24, you need it a run game. You get this, my friend. You never had a past game in 24. Shills, we look at Brady's career with 2020 vision midway through his career him going nuts on the sidelines would look bad. See, I'll tell you this, the only reason and only way you can go nuts on the sideline. Is for this reason, you already have a personal relationship with that person. And that person knows you're coming from a place of love and wanting to win.

20:59If you're just screaming at somebody, it's counterproductive. That's why Brady's able to scream on the sidelines because he was a better teammate than anyone in NFL history at the quarterback position. He can scream at those players because he did have personal relationships with those players. That doesn't have personal relationships with any of these players. Hey, by the way, Prince, thanks leading me into that interview. It was, it was very telling. Shills, what I'm saying is these videos are really talking about what he discuss, what he discusses in the off season when they were laughing out together. We don't get to see the behind scenes and hanging out together. Hey, by the way, they spent time at Alabama of all the players on the team.

21:59He is probably the closest guy. But does that guy come off to you, Prince? Like he's got close friends in life? That interview gave me more jail and I power. Nothing matters in this game. More than winning all the other teams in the league would die for a quarterback with that type of mind. You can't tell me different. Hey, okay. Well then you tell me, Marsh, I was going to save this topic for the end. So you want Jalen Hertz to run a Sean McVeigh offense that you beat on a regular basis? Marsh make that make sense. You're asking Jalen Hertz to run an offense that the Eagles consistently beat. Why? It doesn't work against Philly.

23:02Why would you want an offense that you beat all the time? I mean, when you want something with your own name on it, it creates your own offense. Instead of copying somebody else's. When you want the Jalen Hertz offense, why does it have to be the Green Bay offense, the Sean McVeigh offense? Why in God's name do you want to run an offense that you traditionally handle? The teams would kill for this roster, not the quarterback. You want to run an offense that you handle on a weekly basis or yearly basis. And you're trying to tell me you think Jalen Hertz is going to run Sean McVeigh's offense. Better than Matthew Stafford is nuts. It's nuts.

24:09So why did it take for a GQ to get this interview? What is wrong with Phil and Ophi Media doing this slap? Lollipop shit. Even Dallas media calls out Jerry Jones. Hey, don't. I thought the guy at GQ asked some pretty decent questions actually. Jalen Hertz is going to do whatever Jalen Hertz needs to do to win. Didn't this interview just tell you that? Imagine DAC with the weapons and O-line. Hertz has had over the years. Gary. DAC has had some pretty good football teams. So I think they want to run it so that Hertz can finally grow and try to spread his ability. I've been wishing for this but next prevent offense never allows. Hertz is growth. Will you never hire the coach to help it too? What else? I think you were spot on. AJ wanted legacy. Jalen wanted to win no matter how it looked.

34:41still there. It hasn't left you. You think changing the offense is going to change him into a better passer. You're out of your mind. It's going to give him more versatility maybe, but that's not going to change him. Seals cowboy fans acting like Dac didn't have a team like this. He did all these Jalen haters who love Dac failed to realize that he did have a good team. Of the 10 years that Dac Press got was in Dallas. I'd say five of those years were exceptional teams and I'd say two of them were good teams. There's more to football than just throwing the ball agreed. Yeah, Prince, there is playing good defense, playing good special teams, having good offensive coordinators, spending money on the right players.

I'm there for it. They want to run the ball. I'm good with it.

36:44They want to do this. Hey, I'll tell you what. Jalen Hertz and Nick Suryani have mastered one thing that almost every quarterback in the National Football League can't master. You know what it is? They don't give the front office resistance. You want to run it? We're going to run it. You want to coach it? We're going to coach it. You don't want this coach. You don't want that guy. You want to get admitted this guy? Get rid of that guy. The problem is when things go south, nobody stands up for anybody and you have no answer. And you're looking to the front office for the answers. Ask yourself this. If how he roseman has all to say in the football team, when the team is looking for answers on the sidelines like for Hertz, if there's nobody with answers on the sidelines, how are you going to call a good play? If you looked at a front office for all your answers being solved, when you're in a game

37:47and you need an answer, that's why you don't get it. It's cool he wins. I get that, but is the same problems when they win. When they lose and you all blame coach, you stop ignoring it. Oh, hey, Sean Manon is the built in excuse here this year. Two years in a row, the higher the same guy. Nobody missed the point. You missed my point. Eagles 45 and 17. Only behind the chief. So what is the what is the holy be friends with teammates BS to win thing? I didn't say that. You added that. I said to you, Jalen Hertz is not the best teammate. He's not very approachable. 38:52So I think you look at the results of the interview very fairly. Could definitely say Hertz's style has worked for him up to this. Yes. Jalen looks at price of success, price of leadership. His relationships. I mean, that's how that interview came off to me. Sills your thoughts. How he was on the I'm going to get into that next that's next. WIP today, he was protecting lemon and style as he said it takes time in the NFL. He compared them to the first round pick in 2010 of Brandon Graham. Yeah. Well, the difference there is he didn't draft Brandon Graham. I don't think somebody correct me. I thought that was an Andy Reed hire.

39:55And a Joe banner higher. I might be wrong. Maybe that's his first. Let's see. It's art to lead people if you don't know what makes them tick. Some players need hard coaching. Some a pat on the back and say, let's go. You have to find out what motivates them. Hertz doesn't want any of that. Hey, DFW. Not everybody's going to have an outgoing personality. Hertz values winning more than personal relationships on its team. I mean, you can see the difference of personalities and two of and and Jalen at Alabama. They were the same or they were different completely.

40:58Sills this interview. It hurts. Make it what you want, but as long as Jalen keeps winning, us fans will never problem. I'm not saying you should ever problem with anyway, with the interview anyway. Okay, I mean, I'm not saying that at all. So AJ was the only one bitching about Jalen though. Like I said, Ricardo, you want Hertz to run an offense now. The Sean McVey offense that you beat all the time is crazy. Hey, let me take an opponent that I've been dominating for four years. And let's run their offense. You think that makes sense? Hey, let me run the Sean McVey offense. Who I'm for and oh against. Okay. I have four no gets an offense.

41:59We beat them all the time, but let's run it. Sills I get the outside doubts and whatever, but I don't understand for life for me how some ego fans hate on Hertz when we've been the most successful as a team since he got here. Dude, I'm not hating on anybody here. I'm telling you how he came off as a person to me. In a very awkward interview. And again, I know you loved a guy. And I know some of you will never, ever admit anything bad, good, whatever. They'll always be excuses. I got it. Your fans. I got an SS. Do you think the emotions of a quarterback trickle through the team example? If a quarterback is throwing tantrums or upset does it make the other players play worse?

43:00No, depending on what that relationship that player has with those players. If Tom Brady's bitching at Amidola or Edelman on the sidelines, those guys are together all the time. Those guys are socially together. Those guys work out in the offseason together. Those guys are constantly for 20 years, 30 together. So if you say something to someone, if you have a personal relationship, I'll give you something that Joe Madden told me years ago. The former manager of the race and of the Cubs. For me to be able to be constructive with people, I had to be in a situation where I had a personal relationship with every one of my 25 guys on my roster. For me to be constructive, I had to have a relationship. The moment you don't have a relationship with those players, it's destructive. And that's sat with me for a long time. You have that great, great relationship with people.

44:02You're going to be able to motivate more. So they disagree with that. I'm sure you do. I think we do value personal relationship. He's a great relationship with. I don't believe that. Not based on that interview. I just don't think he puts the personal goals above the team. That guy does not come off like he's got a bunch of friends on that team. And I disagree with you, Prince. I agree with you. She knows all we can hope is, hey, by the way, I learned nothing from that guy in that interview. Except leadership comes with a price. And he'll put anything above that. Once again, yeah, hurts us alone or probably. I'm wrong with that. So am I.

45:07Since the front office wants control and jail and is not resistant to do what they do. Should how he keep hurts. You think he would fight for 60 million or would he take less. I'm going to get to that next promise. I'm going to get to that. I'm going to get to that. So I don't even think this new offense would have worked for AJ since it's supposed to improve the run game and spreading the ball. Maybe we could have tried this offense while AJ was here. Correct. All right. So. I want to get to that interview that how he rose. I want to show you. You see this guy right here. Don't read anything.
