About this episode
Back in 2019, Christy caught up with Dame Deborah James, aka 'Bowel Babe', to talk about her podcast ‘You me and the Big C’ and also about one of the many campaigns she was running – this time encouraging people to leave legacies in their wills.
Despite the fact she was talking about what are clearly very serious topics, she remained infectiously upbeat, enthusiastic and hopeful. We are re-sharing the conversation today in light of the sad news that Dame Deborah died yesterday, in part to help inspire and educate with her words, which are especially poignant today.
She also launched a new fund - Bowelbabe - to raise money for research into personalised medicine for cancer patients. It surpassed £1m in less than 24 hours, smashing her initial goal of £250,000 and has now raised almost £7m. You can donate to the fund here.
