The Dallas stars are bolstering their blue line with a tray for veteran defensemen Tyler Myers from the Vancouver Connux. In exchange, Vancouver gets a 2027 second round draft pick and a 2029 fourth rounder. The Connux also retain half of Myers' $3 million salary, so he carries just $1.5 million against Dallas's cap. Myers, a 36-year-old born in Houston, waived his no-movement clause to make the move to Texas. He has one year left on his deal after this season. This comes right after reports of interest from the Detroit Redwings, but Myers clearly prefer joining the stars. The six-foot-a-blue-liner adds massive experience, with 1,123 regular season games and 61 playoff outings under his belt. This year in Vancouver, he suited up for 57 games, notching one goal and eight points while averaging 20 minutes 13 seconds of ice.

Time. Last playoffs, Myers played 12 games for Vancouver, picking up one assist and a plus one rating over 19 minutes 30 seconds per night. His addition gives Dallas a season presence on defense as they push forward. The stars now hold just one first rounder and one second rounder over the next three drafts.
