Dallas Stars Acquire Tyler Myers, Boost Playoff Push

The Dallas Stars just made a key move before the NHL trade deadline by acquiring veteran defensemen Tyler Myers from the Vancouver Canucks. In return, Vancouver gets a second round draft pick in 2027 and a fourth rounder in 2029. The Canucks are also retaining half of Myers' salary, dropping his cap hit to $1.5 million for this season and next. This trade helps the stars beef up their top four defense as they chase a deep playoff run. Dallas has been pushing hard in the Central Division and Western Conference and Myers fits right in as a steady, right shot option. Myers brings a ton of experience to the blue line. The 6 foot 8 veteran has over 400 points in more than 1,100 games. He's known for smart outlet passes, strong defensive pokes, and a heavy slap shot that chips in around 25 points a season. Meanwhile, the Canucks are in rebuild mode after a tough stretch.
