Daily Devo | Jesus' Joy in Us (Advent 5, John 15:9-13)
About this episode
Joy is not only a gift; it is also a calling. Jesus desires to place his own joy in us — not just a little bit, but overflowing joy. How do we receive such joy? By remaining in his love. And how do we remain in his love? By obeying his commands. And what is his command? To love each other in the same way that Jesus has loved us.

For Reflection:
God's commands are not meant to burden us or restrict us — they are meant to fill us with the joy of Jesus!
- In your own life, how has following Jesus led to joy?
- Imagine you are teaching a children's class and a child asks if we have to obey Jesus' command if we want to have joy. How might you address that child's question?
- Throughout the day, pray for the opportunity to bring Jesus' joy to others.
