Daily Devo | Finding Peace in Unpeaceful Times (John 14:22-31)
About this episode
As the "ruler of this world approaches" (v30), Jesus tells his disciples to not be troubled or afraid. How could they overcome their fear in such a moment? Jesus promises them peace, a kind of peace that only he can give. What is this peace and how can we find it when darkness approaches?

For Reflection:
Jesus offers his disciples a peace that the world cannot give -- peace with God and one another!
- In your own words, what is so special about the peace that Jesus offers? Why is it a peace that the world cannot give, and when is a time when you experienced this peace?
- What things tend to disturb your experience of the peace that Jesus gives? For the disciples it was confusion, fear, oppression by those in power, and the "ruler of this world". What robs you of peace and how might Jesus be inviting you to reconnect with the peace of mind and heart he offers?
