The crowds press around Jesus, demanding that he finally come clean -- "Are you the one?" The reason they do not know the answer is not because Jesus hasn't spoken clearly. The reason they do not know is that they do not believe the answer Jesus has been giving them all along. For those who do not recognize God in Jesus, his answer might be deeply offensive. For those who do recognize Jesus, his answer is life-changing!
