Dad climbs mountains while carrying weight of late daughter
About this episode
A grieving father recently climbed the tallest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales wearing a twenty-two-pound vest, the same weight his daughter Zoë was when she died of cancer at nearly two years old. His decision illustrates the fact that leverage is central to life: the question is the ends we choose to serve. Satan leverages our circumstances for the worst possible outcomes, while Jesus is the master of leveraging our circumstances for the best possible outcomes. The challenge is whether we will use what we’ve been given to glorify ourselves—or to become the kind of people who “turn the world upside down” for the kingdom of God.
