Dell'altra Germania - quella orientale e comunista - nel calcio si è sempre parlato poco, almeno fino all'improvviso exploit del 1974. La DDR costituisce un curioso mito del pallone, con due figure apparentemente antitetiche come "l'eroe" Jürgen Sparwasser e il "martire" Lutz Eigendorf. Ma anche in questo caso, sotto convinzioni e leggende, la verità è ben diversa.
