DA Pushes Back on Reform, Gets Pushed Out

Harris County Texas District Attorney Kim Ogg, partially funded by George Soros in 2016 and elected on a platform of Criminal Justice Reform, pushes back on reforms and gets pushed out.
D.A. Ogg pushed back on Bail Reform in the face of increasing crime and data indicating much of the increase was the result of changes in the Bail System. She also had the gall to ask for an increase in her budget to reduce a backlog of criminal case and more effectively prosecute offenders. Both these are taboo for Progressive Prosecutors. She was primaried and lost.
One influential National organization that set Progressive Criminal Justice expectations for Prosecutors who choose to wear the Progressive label is the Fair and Just Prosecutions organizations. This organization is partially funded by George Soros. A George Soros funded Political Action Committee funded D.A.’s primary opponent.
A key figure on the Board of Fair and Just Prosecutions is Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon. Gascon is in a tough reelection fight. D.A.
