About this episode
The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra turned 50 this year! To celebrate, it recreated its first concert in an event that happened last May. Joining us to talk about that is PPO resident conductor, Herminigildo Ranera, who also shares what exiting things lie ahead for the orchestra. We also hear music from Serenata—an album featuring Ryan Cayabyab's orchestrations of Filipino folk songs, re-issued for the PPO's 50th. Join Ranera and DZFE's Irene de Jesus-Obligacion on CULTURE CAROUSEL (Tue 1630).
All music on the program features with permission from the artist.
