Creighton Bluejays' College Basketball Crown Quest

That loss ended their March-managed dreams, but the team is getting another shot at post-season play in the college basketball crown. This new tournament, now in its second year, and run by Fox, gives teams left out of the big dance and then it a chance to compete. It features eight squads battling in Las Vegas from April 1st through 5th, with a $300,000 dollar name, image, and likeness prize. For the winner, Creighton snagged an automatic bid as a Big E's team. Coach Greg McDermott made it clear his players want to keep hooping as long as possible, treating every extra game like a gift. The Blue Jays finished strong in spots during the seat in hall game, but couldn't overcome cold shooting and a late surge from the pirates. Now attention turns to the bracket, where Creighton faces Rutgers first. The Scarlett Knights ended their season 14 and 19 after a Big Ten tournament exit.

1:00A win there sends the Blue Jays to the semi-finals on April 4th against the Stanford West Virginia winner, tipping off at 9.30 Central Time. With fresh motivation, Creighton heads to Vegas ready to extend the season and chase that title.
