00The sun-shining birds are singing and all feels right in the world. Until the season changes and suddenly you lose your motivation to get out of bed. In fact, one in five people experience some form of depression no matter the season or time of year. At the American Psychiatric Association Foundation, our vision is to build a mentally healthy nation for all, because we want you to live your best life and be your best you all year round. Please visit mentallyhealthynation.org to learn more. That's so great. Yeah, mistakes we've had. And then we check in with each other in a couple of years.

01Like, what happened to you? Like, oh, well, that's it. Well, this would happen to me. And we commiserate like, what's going on with these women? Tell them about my number in your phone. Oh, I typed up, searched Jay on my phone, Jay Towers. And I found Jay Towers. Jay Towers knew. Jay Towers really knew. Yeah, because I have multiple numbers. I'm like, you have more cell phone numbers than Arty Lang does. Wow. Arty Lang has. Wow. It's a race. Okay, every phone number has different paths. Right. With every breakup came a new number. Yeah. Oh, okay. What was that? Wow. Okay. Of course. All right, I'm happy, ladies. What's going on? So wait a minute. What are you doing? Even the ladies in this room don't have your back. When you got injured, you split your head open. They were like, oh, we almost had this show to our side. I know. Yeah, they were celebrating. They were already trying to go see the deal. Where I saw that whole story now is like, you know, watching like five minutes of like, oh, my God. Oh, my God. Is he okay?

02Is he okay? And then it ends with them going like, well, we finally had to show. And yeah, that open head injury of his that he had was an open head injury. You know, quite traumatic for nothing about that. I want to talk about you. All right. What's going on? First of all, you still doing voices on family guy and things like that? I do celebrity voices. Family guy, American dad and the Howard Stern. I'm back on the Howard Stern show now for the first time in 20 years. Wow. And then your audience knows. And I just kind of reset this that I've always been able to do any voice that I hear. I've played a bunch of characters on a bunch of TV shows on King of Queens. I had a very memorable character on Sex and the City. I dated Miranda on the show. But I'm mostly known as a guy who does voices. And I've always been able to do any voice that I hear because of how I grew up. Right. And this is not a joke. This is a true story. Everyone in my family is deaf. And I couldn't learn how to talk for my family. I learned how to talk by watching TV. And I copied all the voices I heard on TV. Wow. And never got an accent from the Bronx.

04That's really crazy, right? It is. And everybody in the Bronx has, like, everybody in the Bronx sounds like Tracy Morgan. Everybody in the Bronx can talk like this, whether you black or white. Male or female, that's crazy. Hey, this is the voicio next door name. And I'm a Vietnamese girl. That's crazy. Like, everyone had that accent. So the weirder, the voice, the easier it is for me to do it from Christopher Walken, who's got a real stop and go. Right, kind of voice. Where he'll talk every once in a while. They'll stop. And that'll keep going. And you're Al Pacino's fantastic. Oh, yeah, that was my first voice I ever did on a family guy. Yes, it was Al Pacino. And then I creeped out Seth McFarland created, wait, how did you do that? How did you do that? So they discovered me on YouTube. Yeah. This woman, Linda Lamontane calls me and she says, Hey, Craig, my name's Linda.

05I'm the cast, you director for Family Guy, American Dad. And at the time, the Cleveland show. And she said, we want to offer you a job. Are you available? And I was like, I was sitting in a Long John Silver's, what she called me. I was like, I could not be more available. Yeah, I was like, I ring the bell. I was like, yeah, let me and I went outside and I was like, so what's going on? And they fly me out to LA from New York to do the show. And my first recording session is with Seth McFarland. And I've been really lucky that every TV show I've ever been on has been a huge show. But I was not a, I never watched Sex in the City. I never watched King of Queens until I was on the shows. But Family Guy was appointment television for me every Sunday. So I'm in this room with Seth McFarland. And I'm so excited. I don't even realize how much I'm fanning out. Like I just, he'd make a joke. And I remember I laughed so hard that he went, hey, hey, relax. And I was like, oh my God, I didn't realize that I was laughing like,

06like I was like, I was kind of overdoing everything. And he goes, come on, man, let's just go in this studio. We'll bring this out real quick. So we go in, he's running the board. And he kept doing one line as Peter Griffin, where he kept saying, this is crazy. The one Al Pacino was a Slum Lord laundromat tenant. And then it cut to me as Al Pacino, surrounded by a bunch of broken down washers and dryers going, you're out of order. You're out of order. And you're all out of order. And I do that three times. And Seth McFarlane, he's running the board and he goes, all right, I think we're good. I think we're good. But I'm so nervous that I think, in my mind, we're going to be friends now, right? Because we're working together. Yeah, I mean, it feels like it. It does. And I go, so you want to hang out? He goes, do I want to what? And I go, you want to grab a coffee or so many? He goes, I got to work. And I said, okay, do you want me to leave?

07And he goes, yeah, get the hell out of here. I'm sorry. Did you lap her for that? No, I just, I'm panicking. I'm like, what am I doing? I'm excited. Just thought we're going to be friends. We're going to be friends. Oh my god, I'm ruining it. I'm ruining it. And I walk out the door and they didn't call me again for like six months. And then Linda starts calling me and saying, hey, Craig, can you do this voice? Or can you do this voice? And every time she calls, I'm like, I can do whatever ways you want. I can do whatever you want. But every time they book me and I go in, Seth McFarlane's never around. Right. It's always this guy. Mike Henry, who does the voice of Cleveland? Cleveland and the creepy old guy. And every time I see Mike go, am I, is Seth around? Every time I see him, he goes, don't worry about Seth. We're going to get you out of here real quick. So you never got a chance to do a redo? Not with Seth. Uh, every time I've come back and recorded for American dad and for the Cleveland show, Seth McFarlane's never, uh, a couple of rapid fire. Do can you do, um, Morgan Freeman?

09I suppose I could. I'm hoping that this interview will actually sell at least three more tickets. It's a good house. I could use a few more people at one night stands. The worst name for a comedy club ever. Go see Craig Gas at STDs. STDs this weekend. What about Adam Sandler? I had him. Oh, man, uh, I did, uh, yes, yes, but I just, I just killed a Niels podcast. Mm hmm. And, uh, when I did Shaq's podcast, I said, man, I was in Los Angeles last night before you flew me here to Atlanta and Adam Sandler went up on stage and did a joke about you. And I was like, oh, man, I'm going to hang out with that guy. And, and Shaq said, what was the joke? Oh, it, I don't, I don't think I should tell you that joke. And he goes, what was the joke? Um, well, according to Adam, um, he, I didn't know he apparently gave you a role in the movie

12grownups too, I guess. And that you guys were filming at a college campus and they were going to take a break. And, and Adam said that you said, I'm going to take a shower. And Adam goes, ah, that was my chance. I'm finally going to get to see what, uh, right, what Shaq's man who looks like, you know, and, uh, and Shaq, uh, you know, takes off and then Adam says he goes into the showers and he's like sneaking in and all of a sudden Shaqial Niels bodyguard pops up. Boom. And he's even bigger than Shaqial Niels. And he's like, oh, my God, it's big dude plan. Paul guy. And he's like, oh, man, and then he goes out and he's embarrassed. And then Shaq comes out and he, and he goes, hey, everybody, I know that you probably heard. I was trying to take a look and then it's, it's not gay. It's not gay. I just, I wanted to be able to tell my kids, uh, hey, your dad saw something amazing works. And he goes up, but I know your bodyguard told you and Shaq sat down. That wasn't my bodyguard. And I go, I mean, yeah, the big black guy and he goes, nope, that was my ding dong.

12All right. Yeah. But yes, we were just, uh, we, you know, we were with somebody who Shaqial Niels saturday and I dated a long time. Remember who's from flavor of love? Yeah. Yeah, she was, she was out of the bat with us. Yeah. Really actually good friends. Yeah, Saturday. Whoa. Yeah. Small world. Small world. One night stands. One night stands. Get gas.com is the website. We want to get tickets to see our friend, uh, Craig gas. Anything else in the else coming up here? Yes, uh, I am putting out two comedy specials this year. The first one is very, very niche. I'm just making, I'm putting out a comedy special where I'm just making fun of the band kiss for an hour. That's the whole show. That's great. That's the entire show. And then the next one is the thing about my mom, who I love. And, uh, so it's, uh, uh, to be talking about ready or no? Yes, I taped one in New York. The other one in Tucson, Arizona. And then, um, and then I have a new show, a podcast called Beardow and Weirdow with a musician, friend of mine. And, and that's been incredible.

1313 million views on Instagram and the, in the first year. Oh, wow. And, uh, but more importantly, I just, I am really looking forward to seeing a lot of friends here in Detroit. I've got a lot of friends that I grew up with who ended up making their way out to Detroit. So, uh, Waterford is a, it's, it's just a great location for this comedy club. It's a nice big space. Yeah. So one night stands, and I have to clarify the owner is named Stan. That's why it's called one night stands. Oh, okay. So that's very clever. Get gas.com for tickets. Get gas with two s's.com. And there is some language during the show, but I'm a good person and I love my mom, okay? So I just put that out there. So, okay, uh, just, uh, just letting you know, it's, it's, you know, it's going to be good with the disclaimer. I know, I know, I know, I know. I should know going in. I love my mom. I love my mom. That's crazy. And Jean, by the way, and Jean Simmons is coming to town here. What in the week or so to open up that new bar? I just emailed him about it because he's in town apparently this week. And so I'm trying to coordinate with him. And oh, you got to see him. Yeah, I, I want to, but I'm scared to because I've never been alone with him.

14And I'm always fearing that he's going to try to hurt me because he confronted, he confronted me live on the radio years ago. Right. Because of my impression. He actually got a plane flew to New York to confront me live on the air. The next day, I get a phone call from Kisses Management Company. They're called McGee Entertainment. And they said, hey, Craig, we wanted to reach out to you to tell you that our singer, Paul Stanley, is your biggest fan. And I said, get out of here. They said, no, don't, don't tell anybody. But Paul loves when anyone makes fun of Jean. Right. What? And he, in fact, he's going to call you. And he called me and he offered me a gig to perform with Kiss. And I said, do you want me to introduce you or do stand up? And he goes, well, let me ask you a question. How many jokes do you have about Jean? And he said, literally hours. And he went, you got the gig. It was like, that's him. I just make fun of my buddy. And you can just, we'll pay you, we'll pay you to open the show. Yeah, it was amazing. It is. Yeah, you'll be hearing a lot of that actually. There is a piece that I do towards the end of the show called, I think Jean Simmons is going to kill me. And you'll hear that this weekend in Waterford at one night stands.

18I can't wait. It's great seeing you. Thanks for always coming in and hanging with us and not forgetting about us. We love it. Dude, over the years, you've always been incredibly kind to me. And when you travel a lot and and and you meet a lot of people, it does mean a lot over the years to look back and see who always pick up your call and always respond. So thank you for that. It really does mean a lot to me. Well, thank you. Famous. So I'm never going to work. Who's not going to work, Craig? All right. Good seeing you. All right. We'll be showing you some money when it's Craig and the girls. Yeah. Good morning. Who give me a close-in injury? All right. I'm going to point three W and I see. Are you running for office and have a message you want every voter in your district to hear? Well, that's where radio comes in.
