CR059: Digitalising Fresenius with Ingo Elfering, Fresenius

As a first part of a new occasional series, we look directly at the digitalisation journeys and challenges of the worlds leading companies with their leaders. 

We start with Fresenius, a European multinational health care company based in Bad Homburg, Germany. It provides products and services for dialysis in hospitals, as well as inpatient and outpatient medical care.

This week, Dave, Sjoukje, and Rob talk to Ingo Elfering, Group CIO of Fresenius and German CIO Magazine's CIO of the Year 2023, about their complex, multi-threaded transformation approach. They discuss what this approach now enables for Fresenius, how the cloud is at the heart of enabling the change, the next steps now that a significant new platform has been established, and how the right tone was set at the Board level to enable the transformation.
