Cowboys Trade Up for Defensive Star

0:00On April 15th, ESPN analyst Mel Kuiper Jr. sees the Dallas Cowboys going all in on the 2026 NFL draft. He projects them trading their first round picks at 12 and 20 overall to the Cleveland Browns for the 6th and 39th spots. Then, Dallas grabs Ohio State linebacker Sunny Styles with that top pick. The Cowboys had a nightmare defense last season, giving up 30.1 points per game, the worst in the league, and 6.1 yards per play, second worst. Kuiper says Styles, his number 4 overall prospect, brings explosion with a 43.5 inch vertical speed at 4.46 in the bay, 40 yard dash, and 77 tackles last year. Analyst Lewis Riddick is all over this mock draft, calling Styles a can't miss Talon who's a great player and person, perfect for what Dallas needs. Meanwhile, insiders say the Cowboys are eyeing other defensive studs like Miami Pass Russia, Ruben Bain Jr. and Ohio State Safety, Caleb Downs, both, early first round types.
