Cowboys Trade Odighizuwa, Gain Draft Pick

Odie-Gizua just signed a 4-year deal worth $80 million last offseason with $52 million guaranteed, so this move creates. $16.75 million in dead calf space for Dallas, but frees up $4.7 million in cap relief right now. Over five seasons since being picked in the third round of the 2021 draft, he racked up 17-secs, 20-16 tackles, and started 76 of 84 games, but he wasn't the right fit for the team's shift to a 3-4 defensive front under their new coordinator. Dallas already had cap crunches with other big money interior linemen like Quentin Williams and Kenny Clark, both counting over $20 million. Each this year, and they'd restructured deals just to make room.
