Cowboys Sign Sam Williams, Trade for Rashan Gary

0:00On March 10th, the Dallas Cowboys have brought back defensive and Sam Williams on a one-year deal, bolstering their past rush early in free agency. Williams turns 27 before the 2026 season and played every game last year, starting five with 37 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and one sack. Earlier in his career, the Cowboys grab Williams in the second round, 56 overall, back in 2022 after his standout. College days at Ole Miss, he showed promise with 8.5 sacks over his first 32 games, but a torn ACL and MCL and training camp before 2024, sidelined him for the whole year. Team mates and coaches raved about his draft to return in 2025, calling him hungrier than ever. He made key plays on special teams, too, like blocking a field goal against the Lions and a punt versus the Cardinals that turned into a touchdown.
