Cowboys Sign Matt Hennessy for Interior Line Depth

0:00On March 13th, the Dallas Cowboys have signed offensive line in Matt Hennessey to a one-year contract. The 28-year-old brings solid experience after playing in all 17 games for the San Francisco 49ers last season, where he started two. Hennessey entered the league when Atlanta drafted him in the third round out of Temple in 2020. He started every game at center during his second year with the Falcons, but dealt with knee injuries that sidelineed him in 2022 and 2023. He bounced around a bit after that, spending time with Philadelphia and back on Atlanta's practice squad before landing on San Francisco's active, roster late in 2024. For the Cowboys, this adds valuable depth up front, especially with restricted free agent TJ Bass getting a second-round tinder while Brock Hoffman. Hits unrestricted free agency. Hennessey can play center and guard much like those guys. This move helps shore up the interior line as Dallas eyes more offseason tweaks to stay competitive.
