On March 24th, the Dallas Cowboys have strengthened their quarterback room this off-season, signing Sam Howell to a one-year deal worth 2.5. Million dollars, fully guaranteed. Howell, who started 18 games with the Washington commanders, will battle Joe Milton III for the back-up role behind Starter Deck Prescott. Milton came over in a trade last year for a fifth-round pick. Earlier this week, analysts pointed to Dallas as a solid draft fit for George's Carson Beck, a two-time national champion with plenty of college, starts under his belt. Beck could step in as a quick-passing option for the Cowboys skilled receivers. If Prescott faces more injury issues, he's misgains in four of the. Last six seasons, fans and experts see the appeal in Beck's experience, especially with Dallas building offensive firepower. However, his arm strength took a hit after elbow surgery last year, so the team might need to tweak their scheme and lean more on the run game. That said, the Cowboys have bigger needs on defense after adding several free agents there already.

With A-Draft picks available, prioritizing the defensive rebuild under new coordinator Christian Parker makes more sense than another quarterback. The 2026 NFL Draft kicks off April 23rd in Pittsburgh, and with owner Jerry Jones calling the shots, expect the unexpected. From Dallas.
