Cowboys Rookies Hit Wall in Minicamp

0:00On May 3rd, Dallas Cowboys kicked off their 2026 rookie minicamp on May 1st, and head coach Brian Shoddenheimer laid it out plain. THE! New guys hit a wall fast. High intensity drills had some rookie straight up vomiting from the grind, showing they're not quite NFL tough yet. This ain't unusual league-wide. Rookie's rolled in from combine training, prime for sprints and tests, but pro practices demand that sustained fire. Shoddenheimer called it a wake-up. The real welcome to Dallas Ball. Fobbs get it, coaches see this every year as a gut check. Still, he bigged up the class's brainpower and grit, calling first round safety Caleb Downs, picked 11th overall, elite and smarts and vibe. They competed hard despite the early hurt. Now he's rolling out his 3C's plan, get him comfortable to shake off nerves, teach the cowboy code and rules, and build tight bonds early so they click on the field. They gave it all yesterday at the Ford Center in Frisco, but conditioning ramps up big time before a late July's full camp, setting these young guns to shine when it counts.
