Council Funds Youth Project for Inclusive Space

0:00On March 3rd, Rushcliff Burrow Council just awarded 5,000 pounds from its community well-being fund to the Pithian Club for a youth project in Kotgrave. The funding supports efforts to build an inclusive space for young people throughout reach and activities focused on their well-being. The project has already reached more than 150 young people and over 120 adults via partnerships in events. A key part includes a multi-sports program at the Kotgrave Young People Center offering fitness options to boost physical and mental health. Recently, the Council's deputy leader, Councillor Abby Brennan, visited the site to meet the club's CEO, Ben Rosser, and some participants. She highlighted how the initiative promotes good behaviors, cuts down on anti-social actions, and aids emotional and social growth. Leaders from the club emphasized their dedication to inclusion and real community change, creating a sense of belonging, especially for those often overlooked. The funding has been key in making these programs happen.
