Cougars' Cenac Junior Shines in Sweet Sixteen

0:00On March 22nd, the Houston Cougars are heading to their 7th straight sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament after two easy wins. They first beat the Idaho Vandals 78-47, then dominated the Texas A&M Aggies 88-57 in the second round. Freshman Forward Chris Senack Jr. stepped up big against Texas A&M, scoring 17 points on 5-9 shooting and going 7-8 from the free-throw line. He grabbed the game high-9 rebounds, including three on the offensive end, and added a block. In the opener against Idaho, Senack had seven points and an impressive 18 rebounds. Coach Kelvin Samson praised his relentless energy, especially for keeping opponents off the boards. Over the two tournament games, the freshman is averaging 12 points and 13.5 rebounds while shooting better than 50% from the field. Now the Cougars head home to the Toyota Center to face third-seated Illinois, with a spot in the Elite 8 on the line.
