Hello, my name is Gilmer Elder, host of A Click at That Voice. And today I want to talk about a question that needs to be answered. Is Washington State still part of America? One thing that 2026 legislature in Washington State has proved is that they do not adhere to the Constitution. They believe that legislation that is passed and signed by the governor supersedes both U.S. and state constitutions. And that legislation is the sole authority on what is law and what is not. It's beginning to look like Washington State is not part of America anymore. It is a state government with one voice. They put themselves in as the sole arbitrators of how any opposing anyone opposing the actions

of the state government will be dealt with. The Democratic Socialist Party of America has pretty much gained full control of the state. We are seeing the worst power grab in history of America and the biggest attack on voter security is happening in the state of Washington. The legislature, combined with the Attorney General and the governor's office, believe they have the authority to dictate the federal officers how to operate, how to perform their duties, and enforcing federal immigration laws. They believe that they have the right to legislate away voters' rights because the citizens are too stupid to elect their sheriff. The legislature voted to give the Attorney General sweeping powers to investigate anyone for anything. If you are a gun owner or if you have not followed the vaccine mandates or if the churches can be required to turn over their documents and list the members, there is no limit to

how this can be used against any organization or political opponent. It goes back to Stalin and give me the person and I'll give you the crime. That's exactly what this is. This is a violation of the first, second, and fourth amendment, but as I said, the Constitution does not adhere to Washington State. Then you have the tax and spend mentality that they come up with new programs and expand government, then they have to raise taxes to pay for those programs. They create one problem after another with over-regulation and taxes and then they want more money to fix the mess that they created. Now they have passed unconstitutional state income tax on millionaires that they believe is going to fix the budget deficit. That tax will filter down to the poor and middle class very quickly.

We have thousands of people exiting the state because of high taxes and the political climate and the education system that is not family friendly. Then on the other hand, you have more homeless people moving into the state to take advantage of the public assistance programs and availability of drugs that are easy to get because of the lenient laws provide little or no consequences for illegal drug use. With the crime rate on the increase, it appears we have more criminals coming into the state due to the lenient laws and reformed sentencing that the legislature has put into place. How can the hard working taxpayer who has a family go along with the Democrat party in this state? As they have watched how the Democrat policies are reducing the livability and giving little or no chance to plan for a prosperous future.

But what is crazy is there are a lot of people in border towns that will go to Oregon and Idaho to buy gas and shop to avoid high taxes, then drive back to Washington and vote Democrat. All that to say with the same people in Olympia, we will not see a change for the better. It will only get worse. The higher taxes, the more and more loss of freedoms, we have a chance in the upcoming election. If the citizens will band together, they can change Olympia. We have an opportunity to rescue the state and start restoring what made this state a great place to live. We still have resources to repair the damage and get back to doing what Washingtonians do best. And that is growing business, inspiring entrepreneurship and giving industry and manufacturing a reason to come here, but it is impossible to accomplish any of this with the leadership we have at

the present time. So we have a choice. We keep going down this same old road which is a dead end and takes us nowhere or we can take a new road that takes us to a bright and prosperous future. This may very well be the last chance we have. So please think seriously about the way it is now and the way it could be. I have lived in Washington state my whole life, 78 years and I remember our state having one of the best economies, lower taxes, the best school with low crime, the best roads, the best opportunity to get a good paying job and being able to provide a comfortable life for you and your family. And Democrats and back when Democrats and Republicans had their differences on how to make the state better. But by the end of the legislative session, there was a workable consensus on how to keep

the state moving forward and increase and improve the quality of life for the future. As I said, the citizens, if they band together, we can restore what we have lost. But we have to hold these elected as servants accountable to make common sense policies and work within the budget.
