Firestorms sticking around a lot longer than we expected and Avengers Armageddon rumor looks like it's been confirmed Plus we have a ton of image news sell-outs new launches Rob Lightfeld variants Mike Manuel is curse of bones art book plus we'll talk about what hit predictions from last week DC takes seven of the ten spots in the Pranathop 10 and of course final order cutoff So a lot to get to this week. Let's dive in Lord, but you welcome to another comic source weekly I'm your host Chase as I mentioned a lot to get to this week The comics source weekly for September 9th 2026 gonna start with the comic book news of the week Of course, I'll talk about what books I think are hot this week and what hit we'll look at the Pranathop 10 list for last week September 2nd and we'll talk about a few books that are on final order cutoff that you might want to be in the lookout for Let your comic shop know by September 14th if you want to order them So let's get started with firestorm being extended to 15 issues the news came out on Wednesday

This week because of the holiday last week labor day We actually didn't have our DC spot light come out until Wednesday So for two to sleep we got a chance to talk about this already You know rock and I have mentioned how much sense it makes for this to be an absolute title turn into an absolute title That would be awesome neither one of us really thinks it's gonna happen But what is happening is people are showing up for this and DC has officially extended the series from nine issues to 15 So that means Jeff Lamir and Raphael Dela Torrey are going to be working on this into 2027 so Lamir has said that the story has sort of taken on a life of its own and it's kind of expanding in directions that they weren't Initially expecting when they started writing it so as somebody who's a big firestorm fan I'm very happy to see this. I think it's awesome Our storm historically was a character that sold pretty decently in the Early to mid 80s and then kind of fell off when australia took it over and he hasn't Had a solo series not at least not Ronnie Raymond version in quite a while

You know new 52 launched with the Jason Rush series then I think rebirth brought him back for a little bit If I'm not mistaken. He's had some mini series here or there But I'd love this to be an ongoing we'll have to wait and see if it continues if it goes absolute 100% It will absolutely pun intended continue, but I think that's a long shot at this point All right battlebeats is reaching its 10th printing as Skybound usually does when it's a 10th printing It's getting gold foil treatments, but there's actually going to be 10 different covers for this gold printing It arrives on October 7th. So huge audience obviously invincible tie-in 10 open order covers. There's the two gold foils and I mentioned from Ryan Ottley and Annalisa Leone Along with that we've got covers from Brett Bean Jerome Apina Kali Hamner Nick Bradshaw Tom Whalen James Stokko been Steinbeck and Carmine Dijon Domenico. So this is going to be a A book that I think a lot of people even if you have already have a subsequent or previous

I should say printing of this you may want to pick it up just because those gold foils are pretty cool They've done it for transformers. They've done it for void rivals Now Skybound is doing it for battlebeats. Keep in mind there's not going to be a new battlebeast story arc until 2027 So here's a chance to get your fix if you're so inclined. All right. Hope everybody got a chance to listen to my interview with James I'm sorry with Steve's gross last week talking about tales of wonder issue number one We've gotten a first look at issue number two now Remember scrocs is both writing and drawing the series Ethan Herring is on colors Pat brosos heading on letters The first issue introduced the idea of these comic book superheroes that were created by a couple of the main characters from the book America's freedom force they were called they've essentially entered the real world and issue two Ask an interesting question if the heroes are real Does that mean the villains are real too? So I imagine we're going to see some villains show up in issue two which arrives on October 7th There's a few variant covers including covers from scrocs and Herring, Eto, Jorge Fornes, Ben Steinbeck and Stefano

Carlos Selly All right, speaking of variant covers Rob Leifeld is giving us a chain caught a cover This is the upcoming Daniel Warren Johnson property from image um This is going to be open to order for issue number one featuring Luma you can see her there that's Johnson's chain saw wielding warrior queen as she's being described Again, it's not an incentive cover you can order as many as you want Obviously this series is written and drawn by Daniel Warren Johnson. It's part of the reason that he left transformers I'm hoping to have Daniel on to talk about the series at some point soon And we'll talk about how long it's been developing and what have you But what we know so far is the series does follow Luma who's traveling through space looking for peace while violence seems to follow her wherever she goes It's going to be in comic shops on November 18th and we have some other covers from Daniel Warren Johnson himself for rally rasmau And probably more to be announced as it gets a little closer Leifeld also is giving us a midnight release variant for vangeline

This so this is the that same midnight where we're getting the marvel midnight books and we're getting some um Midnight variants from only for Sabrina and Archie So gonna be a lot of cool books that midnight so take your nap during the day so you can be there your local comic shop We know the interior artist is Daniel menei and the interesting thing about this It's supposedly a new start for vangeline if you've never read any vangeline books You'll be able to pick it up and kind of new reader friendly at least that's what lifehills says So we'll see how well that's accomplished But the other thing I don't want to mention is this is an vangeline series that's being launched at a time where the film is still in development at Warner Brothers So is this gonna add more excitement is this gonna get people wanting to pick it up I guess we'll have to wait and see I sort of feel like vangeline is not the best property that's gonna translate well to a big Mainstream movie, but I don't know I could be wrong if it's done well. It'll be done well. I'm gonna be interesting. So

Anyway up next Carmen blade number one sells out. This is from Darcy bond polgis who You guys may have if you've caught our DC spot last last last week Uh, he's got the doom patrol book out right now that he's writing uh, and I'll talk more about that and a little bit But this is with Ian Bertram on art. This is the same team that brought little bird critically a claimed little bird to life at image I read little bird the first two issues. I didn't like it Um, so I didn't bother to pick up Carmen blade But this does sound a little more interesting me than than little bird But anyway, the first issue has sold out at the distributor level and I want to make that clear It's sold out at the distributor level. It doesn't mean you can't find a copy at your local comic shop or two or three or whatever um But it is getting a second printing you can see the new cover there a second printing covered by James Stoko And that's gonna be in comic shops on October 7th as well As far as the story goes it's dark fantasy about a young man who's chosen by a blade that's forged from stars And he's tasked with killing a god who controls his world's water supply

So like I said, it sounds interesting, but just based on how much I didn't like little bird. I did not pick this up Um, I considered it but I I didn't and I didn't even read my press Preview copy. Maybe I will maybe I'll get a chance to check it out. We'll see All right, we talked about this last week This creature core that's launching on December 2nd from Kurt Piers um, and the art is by jock not not the jock that works with Scott slider, but jock j okay There's a little more detail here that's been released in the image press release um, so it's set in 1999 time breaks creatures from a devastated future began appearing and humanity does what humanity always does They monetize it So they take advantage of these Creatures and they set them to battle against each other and it becomes this massive professional sport So this book is set um, many years in the future from that 1999 when this happened And it follows a character named dusty godum He became world champion at 14 years old and then walked away from all of it got disillusioned by it whatever

So 17 years later, there's a timequake his mother's injured and it leaves dusty buried in medical bills And it forces him to reunite with his old team and start competing Again in this Sport where they pit these monsters against each other. So Piers Is describing the series as mixing 90s bat creature battling nostalgia So Pokemon Digimon whatever with ultra violent satire Issue one it's giant size. I think it's like 64 pages. It's only 499 It's gonna be out to December 2nd like I said and there's even a trading guard component built into the project Which I don't have a lot of details Or yet, but when I do get more details, I'll definitely let you know All right, I've never read this, but I've heard good things It's from Howard shaken. It's called black kiss and it's getting a collected edition that's going to collect the entire Run in a huge paperback Compendium from image so it collects the original black kiss series which ran for 12 issues black kiss two Which was six issues and then a triple x-mas in July special

Halloween special and some new material from Howard shaken so um Black kiss has always been considered deliberately provocative um crime noir occult horror vampires sexuality golden Hollywood all the things that an old guy Like Howard shaken would just love to write about So Image in this release and the press release they described it as a combo of pan rice You know those vampire stories eyes wide shut Raymond Chandler. So interesting mix when you think about that It's going to be in shops on November 18th and bookstores December 15th. I love the cover I'm not always the biggest fan of shaken Some of his stuff hits for me other stuff. I don't care for so Maybe check out the press preview and see if I want to grab that companion to have on my shelf uh, all right We know that GI Joe Tomb Raider is getting um a five issue series coming real soon From writer Kyle Higgins while Chris Muni-Ham very well known and and uh very

Much a fan favorite cover artist for GI Joe is doing connected style series of vintage Joe variants So what they're calling them across all five issues of the the series So every issue is getting a one and 25 incentive cover you can see the first one there and Lorecroft shipwreck just gorgeous. I'm not the biggest fan of it being a one and 25, but I get it The interior artist by Elena Kasegrande who I think is a very talented artist whose Work has really improved over the years and I'm a huge Kyle Higgins fan. So Issue one's going to be out October 7th. That's going to be a very very busy day for comic shops and uh better start saving your dollars So many good books coming out that day and this is going to be the first uh official ever meeting between Lorecroft and GI Joe As Laura heads to Cobra Island alongside shipwreck on the Joe's to Retrieve the artifact that she's searching for or whatever All right, mention this at the top Mike Manuelas circus of bones. This is from act 4 publishing in conduction with skybound

Um, I've talked about this before when they first announced it So it's they're calling it the official hardcover companion to Manuelas upcoming gallery exhibition in New York. So it's 144 page hardcover But the really cool thing is it contains 53 brand new never before seen watercolor paintings from Manuela that he specifically created for this This gallery event. There's also new ink illustrations. There's 29 new pencil drawings 19 previously published covers 42 published comic pages Uh, and two complete stories all of them scanned from the original artwork and like I said that um that exhibition What I'm really saying like I'm not going to be able to make it to New York comic con this year I'm sad about that because I'd love to go to this mic manuela Exhibit because it is running through New York comic con it starts on September 17th and it runs through October 7th Which I think is the is the Sunday that come that New York comic con ends And it's at the Philippe uh, LeBouh gallery in New York. That's the same gallery last year that did the Frank show exhibit

So I'm super bummed out that I'm not going to be able to make it this year. So Anyway, the hardcover is going to be out on November 4th in comic shops and then bookstores on December 1st That's very reason. Well, it's only 50 bucks for this 144 pages and so much new material from Manuelas So looking forward to checking that out All right speaking of collections. We've got an omnibus for concrete very beloved award-winning series from Paul Chadwick and Dark courses bringing this new omnibus out in 2027 and there's going to be more than one the idea is eventually to have all the original concrete series collected in this omnibus format So a lot of these stories that are being reprinted have been out of print for almost 20 years So the first volume collects depths and heights Along with a new introduction by Chadwick and an expanded sketchbook Section concretes one of those things I've never read. I probably should. I'd love to talk to Paul Chadwick about it

I don't know that I can speak to him that eloquently about it if I haven't read it So it's one of those one of those things I need to check out at some point So like I said eventually the omnibus program is intended to collect all seven original volumes Three on ecpc's stars over sand short stories dark horse presents material and more archival work The stars over the sands is the one that's coming out right now. So volume one is scheduled for June 2027 Don't know if all I doubt they're getting all seven you're supposed to be seven volumes not gonna be able to ball out in 2027 So probably over maybe one a year or two a year So we'll see Also in news from dark horse. They're launching compact edition, which is a no-brainer at this point It started at DC it sold really well. So of course marvel emulated them and I'm not I don't remember what marvel calls them I don't know what dark horse is gonna call them other than just hey just these are dark horse collections that are that smaller size right? So in terms of size

Five and a half inches by eight to half inches and collecting really classic stuff for only 999 the first wave includes the witcher black hammer cyberpunk and canto and then We've got air pals the goon already teased for the future as well. So witcher on May 25th black hammer June 1st cyberpunk 2077 on June 9th and canto on July 6th. So I think it's a great program you can carry these around a lot easier with you It's a lower price point to be able to check something out and see if you enjoy it So again, I Wouldn't be surprised if all the publishers aren't doing these compact editions by The end of 2027. I would be surprised if that worked the case All right in bad idea news bad idea is gonna do bad idea things They have announced a paul pope cover for Lancer and that's the cover there that as you can see So it's not a cover drawn by paul pope Paul pope is literally the cover. It's a photograph of Paul taken by candle white house

And this is the book that's written by Mike Costa with art by Jake Baker and colors by Lee low Ridge and the whole idea is these military veterans have access to an app that is sort of like um A mashup of of like hunting and Door to ash, I guess so there's these Bounties that are put on creatures that need to be killed and These military veterans can go on there and they can take the job and then go off and kill whatever they need to kill so Bad ideas calling it aliens meets the gig economy so I think things are gonna go terribly for these hunters in this particular issue So first issue comes out October 21st FLC of another week September 21st and obviously I'll mention it on next week's episode Bad idea continues to push it demands sacrifice number one also that hits to find an order cut up this coming Monday And the big new endorsement comes from Sam Raimi. It's even there on the cover Calling the book a bloody bizarre and brilliantly built 48 pages 599 for the first issue

They're mentioned before written by Philip Galette and David Yarovesky with Adam Plina on art Dean white on colors and if you Haven't heard the premise even though I've talked about it a few times the protagonist is that baby goat This on the cover there in Bronson. He's the runt of a family of goats This cult shows up the satanic murder cult and they killed the people on the farm. They kidnapped all the goats They intend to sacrifice them Just During a ritual to summon this demon and it's up to Bronson to somehow save his family So yeah pretty wild pretty wild idea and then of course the vital record read along which I've talked about many times With voices including Christian Ritter Danny Elfman Seth Green David Dostmalchian along with the host of Comic creators that are lending their voices as well. So again F.O.C. coming this Monday and the book is out. Yep. You guessed it October 7th All right, Dr. Strange endless nightmare. This is Marvel Arts and Abrams comics art collaborating on a new original graphic novel written by Kevin J Anderson with art by Raoul Allen and

Pertissio Martin the team behind the graphic novel adaptions of the dune movies Also, they did some fantastic work back in the day at valiant And the story begins with a patient telling Dr. Strange that reality is nothing more than the dream of a sleeping god Well, what happens when all of a sudden the entire world stops being able to sleep So Dr. Strange ends up going to the nightmare realm in this story and tries to figure out what's going on now the author Kevin J Anderson has talked about the love crafty and influences on the book so expect to see some creepy tentacles and a lot of eyeballs and body horror and that kind of thing um And we're also told that he's bringing back an established Dr. Strange villain I'm gonna assume that's nightmare himself But we haven't been told that yet And then another villain who apparently hasn't appeared since Stanley and Steve did go used him all the way back in Dr. Strange 122 In 1964 so your big doctor strange fan you might know who that is I've never read that classic doctor strange stuff so I don't know who it is I did get some preview pages as well and the art looks really really cool

So looking forward to uh to checking that out 64 pages That's gonna be on sale Or actually it's already on sale sorry went on sale September 8th All right Only press has revealed something's pretty special for this year's Ringo Awards They're producing the first dedicated Ringo Awards variant cover and it's using artwork from the late micro Ringo Who died way too soon beloved creator And apparently he in 2007 did this redesign artwork for archie and jughead and it's never been published before So only got permission from Mike's family to To publish it and this is going to be a variant that's only going to be included in the gift bags for attendees of the 2026 Ringo Awards Never gonna be sold through any commercial retail or anything like that So it's gonna be pretty hard to get your hands on if you're gonna be at Baltimore Comic Con may want to attend the Ringo Awards Just so you can get your hands on this I think it's gorgeous. I think it's awesome And I think it's great that only got permission from Mike's family

In order to to publish it. So there's also another Baltimore Comic Con exclusive archie one cover by Sean Corrin or I'm probably saying that wrong K you are you and E are you Caron Iru Sorry Sean. I'm done. I'm butchering that But anyway that covers limited to 500 copies only All right, this is pretty interesting Ignition press one of my favorite publishers is celebrating its first anniversary in the direct market with a dead dedicated landing page on find your comic store So if you're not familiar find your comic stores an app that you can use Download on your phone and droiter apple whatever it basically shows you the nearest comic shops to you so According to ignition press this is the first publisher specific landing page find your comic shop has ever created But instead of simply finding nearest comic shop you can specifically find stores That have committed to carrying ignition press books the initial list is highlighted by stores that

At least five copies of every ignition press title Between September 20 25 and May 2026 so if you're a retailer and you did that You can claim your location you can customize the listings and stores that are actively carrying ignition titles can also Request to be included on that landing page. So It's a little bit more of a niche story But I like it because anything that makes it easier for people to find comic shops and connect with readers and publishers Is worth paying attention to I use find your comic shop when I'm traveling for worked so I can check out local shops and whatever So it's really really cool All right icon festival is debuting in loss angeles This is a brand new comics event coming to loss angeles. It's not a comic con. It's something much different from that So the official title is the icon festival of comics and narrative art And this inaugural edition of it is going to be held at the historic and built more lost angeles hotel November 7th and 8th and there's a VIP opening reception on November 6th. So

Again, it's not this huge convention It's something smaller more intimate more focus on comic art and the creators and getting commissions and original artwork and that sort of stuff So the Guest that have been included so far is a real who's who of talent here? We've got nictrigota Daniel Warren Johnson Ryan Ottley Jim Chung Frank Cho Sandford Green David Mac Dustin win bilson kevich And more to come as I said and one of the cool things that they're going to be exhibiting there is the art of Alex Ross Tour if you will or you know traveling exhibition There's going to be more than 100 original pieces of Alex Ross art to check out Also that artwork that you see there that new Version of the built more angel was created by Alex Ross specifically for the event and there's going to be prints of that available to people that Sign up to go and buy their badges or whatever. So again, it's much more of a curated comic art festival as opposed to some big

pop culture con and hopefully that helps it stand apart and not going to be family as much crowds or whatever it is It's a little pricey especially if you get the whole weekend or whatever But again, there's not going to be a lot of people there. It's going to be more intimate if you're into original art You may want to go check it out. This is not hey. I'm going to go buy fun co-pops. I'm going to go dig in dollar bins or whatever Now this is for real connoisseurs of comic book art and get a chance to get things signed and and the you know The lines won't be big get a chance to talk to some of these creators or what have you? I don't know if I'm going to go again I'm traveling so much for the day job for the end of the year I may try to see if I can swing it. We'll have to wait and see but really really cool linking the show notes If you want to go and check out the prices All right up next I mentioned this at the top as well um When we want to mention a previous rumor that we talked about and we finally have proof that that rumor is true. So Bleeding cool previously reported that david colton was positioned to become marvel's new version of marvel man or miracle man

Not sure what name they're going to use yet And now we have michael chose classified variant for avengers arm again number four, which has been revealed And it pretty much makes it clear that this rumor is 100% true. So Bleeding coals calling it confirmation It looks like confirmation this book is already starting to to pre-sell for um nearly $20 on ebay It's being released this coming on monday. So Kim moment in marvel history I sort of feel like miracle man needs his own universe. I don't know if crossing them over Given him these superhero like our superman like powers is really gonna work for david colton. Let the wait and see I mean Marvel already has century is cover of a superman analog, but it doesn't really work whenever so I don't know We'll have to wait and see we'll have to wait and see but yeah He's been powered up by an origin box. He's been given this huge amount of power And avengers armageddon has been selling really well from chipsadarsky this particular issue has art by delio ds It's gonna be in comic shop september 16th as I mentioned. So

Yeah, you can mark that one as confirmed It's definitely Going to be shown up in this week's avengers armageddon All right, let's move on to what hit Now just a reminder these are just predictions based on what I'm seeing people talk about whether that be online or at my local comic shop secondary market things that have already sold out sellouts From comic shops that I've heard about just basically, you know The vibes if you will And I got eight books just like I did last week to talk about And the first one I'm going to mention is fury of firestorm number six You know on the heels of the announcement that it's being continued for six extra issues given it some additional attention I expect to see this in the prana top five our top 10 next week Now this one It's been generating heat I don't really understand it because I don't think I haven't been enjoying it I'll just put it that way, but it does have the bat family connection

And I think based on the love that people have for Barbara Gordon is continuing to sell so I think Barbara Gordon breakout Not a hundred percent little more on the fence on this one, but I think we'll continue to see it in the top 10 Now this one is a complete no-brainer It's Batman. It's bad seeds. It's a number one. It's got them central. So still waiting in line again That's time you'll never get back Save time and money with stamps.com over four million businesses have skipped the line with stamps.com Join them to save up to 90% off carrier rates from your computer or phone right now Print postage for certified mail register mail and packages in seconds Then schedule a pickup right from your home or office for a limited time go to stamps.com and use code podcast for a free welcome gift taxes and fees apply Most people overpay for car insurance not because they're careless But because switching feels like too much hassle. I feel like Clayface celebrity dirt number one was the strongest issue of the series I feel like it's kind of come down in quality since then But we have the clay face movie coming up a lot of people are paying attention to this and I think people are still on board Although it's gonna be interesting to see if it can maintain momentum This one might be even slightly more than backer all the one that I'm worried about being wrong

So Barbara Gordon breakout. We'll see maybe it'll be at nine. Maybe this is at 10. Maybe this falls I wouldn't be shocked to see this one fall out of the top 10, but we'll have to wait and see All right, this next one no brainer. Energy on the universe continues to be an easy pick Uh, no reason to expect transformers not I mean transformers could be number one. There's no absolute books Next week, I could easily see that stain in the in the number one spot All right, so Wolverine 27 is next. I mean, it's Wolverine Wolverine is Wolverine ups and downs with ex titles or whatever Wolverine's always gonna have his fans and based on this awesome Dan Pinocian cover That I think even people that don't normally pick up Wolverine would have picked this up because they want this Oh much covered issue 340. I don't buy Wolverine physically, but I bought this issue So I think there's a lot of people that are in that boat. So I 100% expect that to be in the top 10 Speaking of McFarland spawn 77 number one. It's a number one. It's spawn. It's mark spears

Yeah, people are gonna buy it people are gonna check it out. I can easily see that being the top 10. No problem And then finally punish your number eight um I'll talk a little bit more about this event big guns when I get to this week stop 10 But punish her is performing well enough from Benjamin Percy the fact that this is an event deadpool really cool cover Again, I expect it to be in the top 10 Um, there were some other I almost considered doing 10 this week like Honorable mentioned like action comics. I think that could sneak in their Ironman number nine could be there as well um But I ended up going with these eight If I had to pick two more I'd probably pick those but again, I'd say I still don't have confidence Especially with action comics. I've heard mixed feelings or mixed reactions from people some people are loving the um Kingdoms out of it. Others not so uh an Ironman It's still really really good, but I haven't heard a lot of people talking about it. So um, yeah, I'll throw an honorable mention So those are my picks for what hit let's go ahead and talk about the

Prontatop 10 list for last week. So these are the books That were on sale on September 2nd. Let's see what made the top 10 and just a reminder that the Prontatop 10 list is compiled from numerous comic shops worldwide Uh over 600 stores over 80,000 customers that use the managed comics or the comic shop assistant comic book P.O.I. system So much better than the old diamond Bestseller list where we knew what diamond was selling though. These are books that are being sold to customers being sold to the end user if you will the end reader And they're walking out the door of uh of comic shops. So you know, I've got the second part of The big guns crossover in what hit for this week partly because big guns part one From last week number 10 Wade Wilson deadpool eight from uh Percy and Jeff Shaw made the list at number 10. So I think that carries over I think Punisher makes it cool to see um

Ben Percy doing well and cool to I'm not the biggest deadpool fan But cool to see something that we haven't seen before in the top 10 and kind of on that note I was surprised to see this as well, but pleasantly surprised Batman Superman weird owl. We're world's weirdest number one came in at number nine I don't know if it was some crossover or pulling in people that don't regularly Comics, but cool to see it written by Mark Wade and Tyrone Finch vibes from weird owl himself and of course art by Dan Schoening and Fiko Ocio. So really cool to see that um wasn't expecting that uh, all right Captain America continues to have a really strong run under Zadarski With this time into Avengers Armageddon again. This was a no-brainer At number eight. This is one that I picked Captain America 15 Also uh at number seven another one I picked absolute green land and 13 from all you and jennoy Lindsey again Easy pick. It's an absolute title, but I do want to say at number seven is the Nature of this book how inscrutable it is how frustrating it can be with getting answers or whatever

It's it's sliding down the list Could absolute green lander be the first absolute book to fall out of the top 10? I think that's possible. I think that's possible unless we start getting answers As we were teased from the last page of this book last week. So we'll see All right up next Daredevil 6 from Stephanie Phillips and Flaviano Uh to start of a new arc of moles and all story line And again the new Daredevil run has been going gangbusters from Marvel one of the most dependable performers Another easy pick to be in the top All right, we got a few dc number ones with an all dc top five dc took every one of the top five spots Starting at number five with teen titan's number one from Kyle Higgins and Danielle Dean Naculo Again teen titan's a beloved property and not a surprise to see this make it In the top 10 Legion of superheroes number one from Joshua Wimson Hayden Sherman again. No brainer. Legion is a beloved property I was surprised honestly that it wasn't a little higher. I expected it to be a little bit higher, but at the same time

If anything all the comments on my Legion Episode my interview with Hayden and Josh showed me that people loved the version they love and a lot of people are like I just don't know that I haven't in me to try yet another Legion reboot But good word of mouth could get this Book to continue to grow. We'll have to wait and see But what surprised me was that it was below do patrol number one Which I I heard some people talking online some other youtubers that really really enjoyed it and gave it a really high ranking Rocky and I did not like it. It got I hated it. It just did not like this book at all So I was surprised to see it at number three, but that being said Do patrol does have a devoted fan base It hasn't always translated into big sales though. That's why this surprises me So apparently enough people were interested enough to bump it all the way up to three and that's a good thing Don't get me wrong. I just wish that I enjoyed it more just not the version of do patrol that I enjoy All right, and number two absolute Batman or sorry absolute Superman 23 from Jason Aaron and one for error

Second part of the get brainiac storyline. We talked about how brutal it was great great issue I almost was surprised it didn't hit number one But number one went to the power of Batman I didn't particularly think this was a particularly great issue of Batman Was almost a silent issue. It wasn't much that happened. That's why I kind of felt like absolute Superman to serve the number one spot But Batman's gonna Batman and it took the number one spot from Matt fraction and Mateo's Clare again go listen to our DC spotlight if we want more details on it I didn't like the fact that the storyline that fraction was telling has been interrupted by bad reads bad seeds But again Batman's gonna Batman and there you go All right, so overall if we look at the summary we've got seven DC books as I mentioned Marvel's only got three and DC took every spot in the top five With three of those five being new number one stupid troll Legion superheroes and teen Titans so

Yeah, DC kind of kicked butt this last week and speaking of kicking but I kind of kicked butt too Not only did I go eight for eight in my top 10 every single book that I called out World was in the top eight. I went eight for eight with the top eight Which is really really cool Again, it's not rocket science necessarily. I felt pretty confident last week. I'm much more confident last week's picks than this week This week it's kind of all over the place. I don't know what to think that's why did the honorable mentions Sort of kind of hedging my bets, but yeah eight for eight was the top eight. I thought it was pretty cool. So anyway I'll definitely take a hundred percent on on what hit last week. That's really great All right, let's finish up with final order cutoff now remember Final order cutoff. This is the point where comic shops are making their final adjustments to their orders If you want to guarantee to get something you need to be sure to tell your shop to order it for you by phone final order cutoff. So Especially independent smaller books books that are ordered in heavy quantities where there's gonna be copies on the shelf

So 17 books as I mentioned starting with image. We've got deadly tales of gunslinger spawn number 19 now Jimmy's Palm reality's been asking people to check this out I don't know if that's spurred by lower sales like it hasn't been selling well or if it's in danger being counsel Whatever, but if you love Jimmy if you love Jonah Hex I'm Hannah. I've lost 75 pounds in 20 months with gop once plus diet and exercise on row I've gone from struggling to run a mile to running farther every day You can access FDA approved GLP ones online get the support you need to reach your weight loss goals Go to row.co slash wait to see if you qualify. I can create a site with my eyes closed Shopify thinks ahead of us, you know, and it thinks about the customer more than anything

Every day I'm thinking about some other new business But Shopify is doing it to me because it's so easy to use. It's like I can't stop them addicted Start your free trial at Shopify.com If you love Westerns This is a really really good book was really really good art and not enough people are talking about it So I thought I'd give it a shout out for final order cutoff another book that continues to move forward is the massive verse Radiant black 44 One of the most dependable modern superhero books. It's almost like Invincible not not necessarily completely in tone. It's got some power rangers vibes to whatever but Just in terms of where it's at with the amount of people that are reading it Like I feel like it's a similar community and a similar Fan-based like if you know you know when you're reading radiant black So if you went back and and looked at invincible when invincible was on issue 44 I think it would feel the same in terms of the community that are reading it and they have kind of similar sales

So we know what happened with invincible every invincible book is worth money now So don't sleep on radiant black. It's a really really great book All right, we mentioned crowbound selling out last week the second issue is coming out from Dustin Winn and Jeff Lemire So if you're so inclined to be able to pick that up again, you know issue one sells out They order more issue ones, but they already had to put their orders in for issue two before they knew the issue one was gonna sell out so Let them know that you want the book because they've already submitted their initial orders before they knew issue one sold out, but they can adjust those But they have to be adjusted before fine order cutoff, which is this Monday. So again based on the popularity of the first issue based on the first issue selling out you would hope that the retailers are going and increasing their orders for number two But don't depend on that if you want the book so And then finally carbon blade number one second printing so we talked about before with that James Stoco cover

All right, four books from Marvel to talk about captain Britain is getting a 50th anniversary special Captain Britain doesn't have the biggest following X caliber wasn't the biggest selling book If you want to be sure to get it, it's not overlooked. You don't miss out on it better preorder mention daredevil number eight given how well it's selling um I would expect there to be shelf copies, but again don't always assume especially if you want a specific cover and then Amazing spider-man number one thousand one now again Amazing spider-man is a book that always lines in the top 10 It's always going to be ordered relatively heavily shops always almost always kind of ordered copies to have on the shelf But here's the thing that's interesting and the reason I put it on here So with amazing spider-man 1000 getting mainstream media coverage that book is going to pull People in that don't normally buy comics. It's going to have people showing up. Hey, I heard amazing spider-man made it to 1000 Maybe I used to read spider-man maybe I'm a big spider-man fan. Maybe I just think it's cool to have that And then they read it and decide oh, I want to keep reading the end whatever and they're going to show up and pick up

2001 it could easily happen, but here's the thing There's no way that shops are going to order number one thousand and one In anywhere near the quantity that they're ordering one thousand It's just not going to be close because they know one thousand as an anniversary issue That's going to bring in people that don't normally read comics So I say all that to say if you want to be sure not to miss out You may want to pick this up like I think all the way back to amazing spider-man 300 So there was no comic shop in the town I grew up in and I used to be able to go to like the local convenience store I pick up my comics every week no problem didn't miss out on anything one of the books that I had a hard time finding was amazing spider-man 300 because it was an anniversary issue and it pulled in people that don't normally buy it or even the people that normally buy it were buy and extras So same thing here, right With one thousand there could be a lot of extra people showing up and if their readership continues into one thousand and one It may be a little bit tougher to find All right I also want to mention amazing spider-man amazing visions number one. This is a separate one shot

It's not the regular amazing spider-man and it's um Got Liebermejo art and I think if I'm not mistaken It's taking a bunch of the covers that Lee has done and then Lee kind of creates a story around those covers Which is really really cool. We've seen him do that kind of thing before so I love Burmé Housard. I'm definitely picking that up All right Couple DC books this week new number ones next level number ones now We saw three next level number ones make the pranatop 10 bestseller list this week These ones could make it as well, but again don't assume because these are not characters that have as much of a following As even doom patrol definitely not as much as As titans does Uh, and what was the other book? I don't already forget what the other number one was um wasn't the um oh Legion superiors yet uh, yeah No way Jonah Hex or the demon have anywhere near the name recognition or the fan base that

That those three titles have so you may want to preorder again demon number one from James Heron Writing and drawing and then Jonah Hex on the shadow of death writing and written and drawn by Michael So definitely leaning into the horror vibe there and then archie number two from Ben H. Winters and Fabio moon I've been reading a lot of archie lately. I got I got to say I've really enjoyed the first issue Love the cover there. So we'll see how many people are actually gonna hang out and keep reading archie So when those sales numbers come in for number two. I'll definitely let you guys know All right up next got a few more indie books from Dark Horse six of us number two from Tom King and Gabriel Harnett As Walter this new series Second issue definitely could be ordered less than an issue one This is almost like crime noir mixed with friends You're curious about it. I picked up the first issue. I haven't had a chance to read it hoping to find time to do that this weekend But again if you picked up the first issue don't assume you're gonna be able to find a second issue pre-order it

We've mentioned it before it demands sacrifice number one final order cutoff from bad idea And then from ignition press we've got the patron number three from Christian Ward and John J Pearson Another later issue from a smaller publisher Where again if you're reading it and enjoying it you never know when the Retailer's gonna drop it down to pull only pull orders only and not order any copies for the show So you definitely should pre-order then finally Mad Cave has a new book From Jimmy Palmy Audi and Juan Santa Cruz pop kill big big candy number one Continuing in that same universe from pop kill which did very very well for Jimmy over at mad cave Gonna have some awesome covers as well Amanda Conner and others And then last starship the final issue Number 12 from Jackson Lansing and Colin Kelly with art by Adrian Benia You've been following the series. You know how amazing it is Don't assume again, even though Star Trek that it's being ordered in huge quantities So if you want to check it out be sure you pre-order and then speaking of Archie

We've got an Archie crossover. He's met the Punisher before he's met aliens before I believe well now It's Archie versus the Punisher from Rory McConville and Stephen Butler And I mean I'm down for that look at that awesome cover Of Francesco Frank Avia on the cover Yeah Again, not a book that's gonna be ordered in huge quantities So if you want to be sure not to miss out order it from your local compensure All right, well, that's gonna do it for this week's comic source weekly Just to kind of sum up firestorm got six more issues. We got confirmation of the David Colton miracle man or Marvel man Whatever it's gonna be story The Carmen Blades already going back to another print tons happening image Rob Lightfield variance and all that stuff DC absolutely dominated the piranha top 10 list this week was seven of ten and the entire top five And I managed to go eight for eight eight for eight with the top eight on what hit really really cool I'm very proud of myself as you can tell so

Know where near gonna do that this week this week is I Total lack of confidence in my picks this week. It'll make up for it right well fold myself this week for going eight for eight with the top eight Next week I probably miss half my picks. We'll have the way to see so Anyway, let me know what stories stood out for you What two books do you think I'm missing in the prana top 10 any final order cutoff books You're ordering for this week. Let me know and of course if you enjoy this kind of content make sure you subscribe Uh, and I'll be back next week with more news more what hit a prana top 10 and final order cutoff So appreciate the support as always and we'll talk to you next time I started or not in 2013 and we make bike apparel the best part of Shopify for me is our ability to run the business as
