Colts Trade Up, Add Picks in Dead Even Deal

0:00On April 25, the Indianapolis Colt just traded back from the 47th overall pick with the Pittsburgh Steelers pushing their first election later in the second round. In the deal, Indy picked up the 53rd pick, the 135th in the 4th round, and the 237th in the 7th. They sent the 47th in their 249th pick to Pittsburgh in return. According to the Rich Hill Trade Value Chart, it was dead even. Both sides gained about 125 points in value. Colt's GM, Chris Ballard has been clear all offseason. He is not chasing trades up, but stacking more picks to stay flexible. Ballard sees solid depth on day 2 and into early day 3, especially where the Colt need help. They started with just 7 picks total, only 2 on the top 100, so adding ammo makes sense. The board is falling their way at key spots, so they are chilling now. Confident they can snag their targets without rushing. More moves likely ahead.
