Colts Sign Micheal Clemons, Boosting Edge Rusher Depth

0:00On March 11th, the Indianapolis Colts moved fast in free agency after missing out on Trey Hendrickson. They signed former New York Jets ed rusher, Michael Clemens, to a 3-year deal worth $17,500,000. That could reach $18,500,000 with incentives. Clemens bring solid experience, with 119 tackles and 8.5 sacks over 4 seasons in New York. He hit a career high of 4.5 sacks in 2024, but saw his role shrink to just one sack last year. Behind a crowded Jets depth chart, with players like Will McDonald the 4th, Dermain Johnson, and others, Clemens needed a fresh start. Now he slots in as the 6th ed rusher for Indy, backing up Arden Kee, Leietu Latu, and JT Tumeloow. This additions things a bit as a reminder of the Hendrickson chase, which fell through when Baltimore grabbed him. Still, the Colts posed at 39 sacks in 2025, good for 7th and sack rate.
