It's March 19th, let's get into entertainment and celebrity news. Stephen Colbert is launching special T-shirts to mark the end of his 11-year run hosting the late show, wrapping up on May 21st. The shirts say the last show with Stephen Colbert on the front, and include a joke about YouTube views on the back that the network could not make. Money From All proceeds go straight to World Central Kitchen, the charity run by Jose Andres that delivers fresh meals after disasters. He showed off the shirts on his Wednesday show, and directed fans to ColbertLateShow.com slash eBay to buy them. By Thursday, March 19th, they had sold over 3,400 units, with medium through 3 extra large sizes completely sold out. Those small and extra small were still available. Colbert and Andres handed shirts to the New York City studio audience that night, and even fired some out using T-shirt cannons, creating a fun. Then Dove 5, fans snapped them up fast, showing strong support as the show nears as close.
The end was announced back on July 17th of last year, with CBS calling it a financial choice amid tough times for late 9th TV. Colbert had criticized the network's parent company earlier over settlement payments. Meanwhile, Colbert took over the desk in September 2015, continuing the late show tradition that started in 1993 with David Letterman. He recently shared that the finale feels very real now, but the show still airs weeknights at 11.35pm Eastern on CBS. The Daily News Now is powered by a sponsor, link in the description.
