Coalisland & Clonoe Residents Face Phone Outage

0:00On April 16th, folks in Coalisland and Clono, two towns in County Tyrone are basically cut off from their phone signals this week thanks to Upgrade. Work by O2 and Vodafone. No calls, no texts, no mobile data, unless you're on Wi-Fi, it's hitting pretty much everyone there hard. The outages kicked off Monday evening into Tuesday morning. At first it looked like a simple fault, but the company swished it to planned upgrades on their status pages. Global counselor Dan Kerr has been flooded with complaints from residents. Businesses are taking a real hit, losing customers over the weekend, and everyday folks are fed up with the hassle for both home and work life. Both networks say service should return by APM on Monday, April 20th, 2026. Vodafone calls it maintenance to boost the network while O2 frames it as upgrades, but Kerr warns it might drag on like last time weeks instead of days and urges everyone to complain for possible bill compensation.
