Hey, have you ever been to the beach and seen the big blue ocean? It's so big, and the waves go splash, splash, splash on the sand.

2:07Sometimes if you look really close, you can see little boats and even really, really big ships sailing way out on the water. Okay, so our story is about a little boy. His name was Christopher, and you know what? Christopher loved to see more than anything else in the whole wide world. See, he lived in a town that was right right next to the water. And every single day he would run down to the dock to watch the big tall sailing ships. He just loved to see their big white sails go, whoosh as the wind filled them up and they sailed far, far away. And you know what's really cool? He learned how to be a sailor when he was still just the little boy. He loved how the boat would rock on the big wavy water, going up and then down, up and then down. Wee! It was so much fun for him. So, when Christopher grew up and became a big man, he got a very, very big idea. It was an idea about a super amazing adventure. He would spend all day looking at his maps, and then he'd look out his window at the giant, giant ocean.

3:10The water just went on and on and on as far as his eyes could see, and he would just wonder. He kept wondering what could be on the other side of all that water, and that was his big idea. He thought that maybe, just maybe, he could get in a boat and sail, and sail, and sail all the way across the big ocean to see what was there. Okay, but for a huge trip like that, Christopher needed a big boat, right? Well, there was just one problem. He didn't have one. Oh dear. So, what did he do? He went to some very important people for help. He showed them all his maps, and he said, look, I have this amazing idea. Can you please help me get a boat so I can go on my adventure? But you know what? The important people looked at his maps, and they just shook their heads, and then they said, no. No, they didn't think his big idea was a good one at all. But Christopher didn't give up. No way. His brother even went to a different country to ask a king for help.

4:11He said, please, Mr. King, can you help my brother, Christopher? And guess what the king said? He also said, no. Oh no! It seemed like nobody, nobody at all, wanted to help Christopher with his big adventure. Ah, poor Christopher. He felt so, so sad. You know that feeling? He thought his amazing dream of sailing across the big blue ocean was over. He was just about to give up and go home. But wait a minute. Just when he was feeling his very saddest, something wonderful happened. That's right, someone special heard all about Christopher's big, big idea, and this person wanted to help him. Hmm, I wonder who it could be. It was a kind queen. Her name was Queen Isabella. And when she heard about Christopher's amazing adventure, she smiled a big smile and said, yes, what a wonderful idea. I will help you. I'll give you the ships you need. Hurray!

5:13And just like that, because the kind queen said, yes, Christopher got his ships and he didn't just get one ship. He got not one, not two, but three ships. Can you count them with me? One, two, three. All for Christopher. Wow, the dock was so busy with everyone getting the ships ready to go on the big adventure. They all had very special names. Want to learn them? Okay, the biggest ship was called the Santa Maria. Can you try to say that? Santa Maria, great job. The next one was the Pinta. Let's say it together. Pinta. And the littlest one was the Niña. Niña, that's right. The Santa Maria, the Pinta, and the Niña. So, the ships were ready. They had lots of yummy food and water. The sailors were ready. And Christopher, well, he was ready too. Everything was finally, finally ready for the big, big adventure to start. So they're off, sailing across the big, wide, blue sea.
