About this episode
Isaiah foretold a child whose birth would rearrange history: the Son given, the King whose government rests on His shoulder and whose peace will never stop increasing. Christmas celebrates that invasion the moment God entered the world in flesh, the moment the rightful Potentate, King of kings and Lord of lords, took the field. The war is not yet finished, but the outcome is certain: Christ will bring all nations into joyful allegiance. That is why Christmas is a season of victory, of joy to the world, and why every Lord’s Day is, in truth, a weekly Christmas celebrating His coming, His resurrection triumph, and the advance of His Kingdom. God’s design is that all of life become holy, and all days reflect the reign of the Prince of Peace. So lift your head and rejoice: of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end.

The counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end. Jesus Christ is God incarnate. He is, the blessed and only potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 1 Timothy 615. Christmas is a celebration of God's invasion of history through his son. We rejoice that, although the war is far from over, our king shall prevail,
1:00and that, in due time, all men in nations shall be brought into a joyful allegiance to him. Christmas is an escapeably a time of victory and of joy to the world. The joy of his coming and progressive triumph should light up all our days. We are the people of victory because we are the people of the king. I once heard a child say, I wish you were Christmas every week. The fact is, on every lords day, we celebrate his coming, his victory over sin and death, and the growth of his kingdom. Christmas, like Sundays, is a holiday or woolly day. God's purpose is that all days, all of life and all things shall be holy. Zechariah 1420 and 21. 4.
