Christian Reeves Joins Kansas Basketball

0:00On May 2nd, Kansas basketball just landed a big man with serious upside. Christian Reeves, a 7-foot-2, 255-pound center, is transferring in from a college of Charleston. As a retro junior, he averaged 11.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game last season, earning all C.W.A. honors on both sides of the ball, despite a bum shoulder. His row to this point has been rough. Reeves started at Duke, barely saw the floor as a freshman, then got a medical waiver after ankle surgery wiped out his sophomore year. He bounced the Clemson next, logging just a career high 146 minutes off the bench, still battling that ankle. Coach Bill's self has hyped about him, saying Reeves never really got a fair shot until Charleston, where he showed what he's capable of. Self thinks this is the spot to finally unlock that potential, after all the injury drama, and with his track record turning overlook bigs into starters, it could be a match made in Hoops, heaven.

1:01Now, Reeves joins returning sophomore Paul and Via in the mix for that starting center gig at Kansas. Both guys bring size and skills, so expect a fierce battle in camp. With Reeves healthy and in the system, Kansas front court just got a whole lot deeper, setting up what could be a dominant run inside next season.
