Chinese president to attend BRICS Summit in India

The Chinese Foreign Ministry has announced that Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the 18th Brick Summit in New Delhi on Saturday and Sunday, the trip set the invitation of the Indian Prime Minister. Local authorities say 20 missing crew members have been found dead after a foreign cargo ship caught fire while undergoing repairs at a shipyard in Qingdao, Shandong Province. The fire broke out at around 1115 in the morning on Thursday. There were 42 people on board. 12 people evacuated safely while five others were injured and taken to hospital. The place was extinguished at around 2.30 pm. So far, 20 of the 25 missing people have been found with no signs of life. Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for more efforts to search for missing people and a swift investigation into the cause of the fire with those responsible held accountable. Shandong Province and the city of Qingdao have activated an emergency response with fire police and health authorities joining the rescue operation. The Chinese Commerce Ministry says the two countries' economic and trade teams are implementing the consensus reached by the two heads of state at their meeting in Beijing. A ministry spokesperson says the teams are working to finalize the framework and put it into effect as soon as possible. Chinese and U.S. law enforcement agencies have jointly cracked a transnational case involving precursor chemicals used to manufacture synthetic cannabinoids. According to the Chinese Ministry of Public Security, Chinese police arrested 21 suspects in mid-August. They also seized a batch of non-scheduled precursor chemicals, incordinated operations, and hubby province in elsewhere. China and over 40 international partners have established an alliance to fight cross-border telecom in cyber-fraught. In the third state, representatives from the partner countries established the alliance during its inaugural conference in Li'en Yunggung, China. Four international organizations, including the UN and Interpol, also participated. Initiated by the Chinese government, the Alliance aims to promote cooperation among law enforcement agencies in the fight against fraud and other crimes.

2:05China's new energy vehicle sector continued to strengthen its leading position in the auto market in August. According to the China Association of Auto Manufacturers, any of the production exceeded 1.6 million units last month up nearly 19%. Sales increased by a similar number, recording a gain of nearly 18%. New energy vehicles accounted for a record at 60.6% of total new car sales. China's auto exports also remained strong, reaching more than a million vehicles in August up 65.3%. New energy vehicle exports are 130% to 526,000 units. New energy vehicles have accounted for more than half of China's total auto exports for three months, meaning roughly one in every two cars exported is now a new energy vehicle. Industry officials say the figures show China's auto exports are increasingly driven by electric vehicle technology. China's national climate center is providing Nepal with climate monitoring and forecasting services to support rescue and relief efforts following the severe mudslide along the border of the two countries.

3:06The China Meteorological Administration says the center activated an emergency response and is using China's AI-powered Masu weather warning system to deliver customized climate information to Nepal. The service includes regular monitoring of temperature, rainfall, and drought conditions, as well as forecasts for up to 60 days. The center is also providing outlooks on major climate patterns, including Elmenio. Since August 28, China supplied Nepal with rolling 15-30-day climate outlooks to assist post-disaster rescue and relief operations. A glacier collapsed toward the disaster on August 26, causing a massive ice-rock avalanche and debris flow. The climate support is part of a broader meteorological cooperation between China and Nepal, following the disaster. The United States and Iran have traded the biggest wave of attacks on shipping since the six-month-old conflict began.
