Now the news. I'm Shane Beggum. China's expressed expectations for the upcoming BRICS summit. The Chinese foreign ministry described BRICS as the most important platform for solidarity and cooperation among emerging markets in developing countries. A ministry spokesperson said China attaches great importance to and actively participates in BRICS cooperation. According to the Foreign Ministry, Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the meeting and deliver a speech. He'll also have exchanges with leaders of various countries, put forward major initiatives and proposals, and chart the course for the high quality development of a greater BRICS cooperation. Since UN has more, but the upcoming BRICS summit. New Delhi is gearing up for this year's BRICS gathering as role leaders are arriving here in the country. And this year, term and ship theme is booting resilient innovation through operation and sustainability. And Chinese foreign ministry has announced on Thursday that Chinese President Xi Jinping will be landing here to attend this year's event. Some of the activities happening on the ground including BRICS, this is forum.

And going back to the theme, some of the discussion including agricultural tech related topics as well as how to lower various among trades among BRICS countries. And this are some of the major topics that we discussed throughout this year's summit. And some of the focuses would definitely be how AI governance can empower emerging voices representing BRICS member states. China's introduced temporary measures to control domestic gasoline and diesel price increases, seeking to cushion the impact of surging global oil prices amid renewed Iran U.S. conflict. Gasoline and diesel prices will each rise by around 0.2 yuan per liter on Friday. Without the controls, the increases would have been over at 0.3 yuan for both fuel types. After the adjustment, drivers will have to pay an extra 10 yuan to fill up the tank. China's National Development and Reform Commission says it'll ensure stable fuel supplies and strength and market oversight to protect consumer interests. China's top industry regulators unveiled its 15th five-year plan for the new energy vehicle industry.

By 2030, the goal is for NEVs to account for 70% of domestic new passenger cars sales and 40% of new commercial vehicle sales. China also expects autonomous driving to be deployed at scale by the end of the decade. Yemen's Houthi Groups deployed forces to the strategic hannish islands in the Red Sea, following the withdrawal of government naval troops. A Yemeni government official said Houthi forces had been establishing positions on the island. The deployment significantly expands the Houthi's military presence in the southern Red Sea, bringing their forces closer to the Bab Al-Mandab Strait, a vital maritime choke point, linking the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The Houthis have also seized Machia, a port on the Red Sea, after fierce fighting for government troops to retreat. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry says the country has made no decision about a military response to Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia. Islamabad's condemn the Houthi group and reaffirmed its solidarity with Riyadh. The Pakistani Defense Minister has suggested possible intervention if the attacks spill over

into Saudi territory. Last month, Pakistan, or Kieh and Saudi Arabia, signed a joint defense agreement, which stipulates that an armed attack on one of them will be considered an attack on all. Indonesia's recorded nearly 69,000 cases of acute respiratory infections in areas affected by ash from the eruption of a Nat Krakatovo Kano. Health authorities recorded over 17,000 cases across 23 districts and cities in four provinces on September 8th alone. A Nat Krakatovo erupted again on Thursday morning. Authorities have urged visitors to state least three kilometers from the active crater. Three people infected with West Nile virus have died in the Netherlands since August. The country's health authorities said the total number of reported cases has risen to 18. It said the virus was diagnosed after the individuals have been hospitalized with symptoms. Auckland is officially opened a major rail link through the city center. After a decade of construction, the city rail link will begin carrying passengers on Sunday,

and three new stations open and a new timetable takes effect. A giant panda cub born in South Korea has made its first public appearance at Everland Theme Park in Yongein, South of Seoul. Its keeper is named the 100-day old cub on Friday. Shu Bao was born on June 3rd to Giant Panda's La Bao and I Bao. It's the fourth giant panda born in South Korea and the third successful natural breeding there, following Fubao in 2020 and Twin Cubs Ray Bao and Huay Bao in 2023. That's the news.
