Chiefs Trade McDuffie to Rams for Draft Picks

0:00On March 4th, the Kansas City Chiefs are in deep talks to trade cornerback Trent McDuffey to the Los Angeles Rams for a strong package of draft picks. This deal would give them massive flexibility as free agency starts in less than a week and the I-Roster builds for next year and beyond. The compensation includes the Rams 29th overall pick this year, the later of their two first rounders along with a fifth round pick, A, sixth round pick, and a third rounder in 2027. For McDuffey, the move means heading home to Orange County, just a half hour from Los Angeles. He shares a key connection with the Rams' defensive passing game coordinator from his recruiting days at the University of Washington. With the trade, the Chiefs now boasts three picks in the top 40, their own 9th overall, the 29th from the Rams, and the 40th overall spot. They also pick up several later rounds to stockpile talent. This sets up Kansas City nicely to reshape their defense, leaning on veteran Christian Fulton and second year corner no Williams while chasing.
