I thought this division matchup would be closer than it was, but Patrick Mahomes and obviously the new addition, K9 dominated this game. The Kansas City Chiefs and Spags defense looked phenomenal. You wondered what they would look like when they lose Jaylen Watson and Trent McDuffie to really good corners and they're going with a very young secondary. What would they look like after that? What the answer is, they still look damn good. And that's for sure. Montsor Delaney, who has a pick his third player of the game gets injured later on, but Noel Williams looked really good. Just aggressive. Every time I looked up, he was just jumping off the tape in the run game and the past game, forced a couple penalties. They were sticky and coverage.
They were putting pressure on Bonix, all game long. They held the Broncos to two of 12 on third down. When you're not executing on third down, it's really tough to win these ball games. But I didn't think they would run as much as they did. I think they ran almost the first. They ran nine times in the first 10 plays. And you knew they were going to try to keep the ball out of patch from my hands. Kind of keep him out of danger. Let him kind of work his legs back into football. And not just put the game on his shoulders. And Kenneth Walker gives them a bit of ability to do that. He had 23 carries for 173 yards and a 60 yard touchdown. The explosiveness, the speed, all the things that made him great in Seattle, the only issue was durability. And we will see if if running him this way causes any issues down the line, but he looked fantastic. He looked like he did at the end of last season and in the playoffs for the Seattle Seahawks
and why he got the Super Bowl MVP. And if he can continue to play this way and they can start to work in Xavier worthy and Taikoan Thornton and Rossi Rice. Rossi Rice only had two targets today, but broke a tackle and had a touchdown. 13 yard touchdown in this game. Emmett Johnson had a good game back and up. Kenneth Walker. And they just look like the Kansas City Chiefs of all. Not even the Kansas City Chiefs of all. They look like a championship contender. If you look at this Denver Broncos defense from last season, obviously they're without Jonathan Cooper. He is only exemplest. But this is one of the top defenses in the national football league and they put up 31 on this defense and made it look relatively easy. They didn't take any crazy. Herculian effort from Patrick Mahomes. It took a great running game, a great plan and great execution. And they played a left tackle. That's that was an undrafted player at left tackle
because of the injuries and things that have happened throughout training camp. But if the Kansas City Chiefs can play like this all season long, then again, people are going to be upset because they will be right back in contention. And that's why I thought, hey, if Josh Allen was going to win a Super Bowl, it was supposed to be last year when there was no patch from the homes in the Kansas City Chiefs. There was no borough, no Lamar, no, no nothing to get in this way. But he didn't. The other question in this game was, Bonyx and the Denver Broncos. And what is Sean Payton going to do? Obviously, he handed over the play calling duties to Davis Webb. They only scored 10 points in this game against the Kansas City Chiefs defense. That's super young. I don't think anybody was expecting him to dominate in the fashion that they did in this game. They caused multiple turnovers. They had Bonyx flustered the entire game. He dropped the ball a few times, fumbled it through a pick to Montsord Delaney
and would look like two men. The Chiefs defense had four sacks. They just looked better. They looked like the more dominant team. They didn't look like they were playing young guys in a secondary. They looked like they were playing veterans in the secondary. And if they looked like that. And the Denver Broncos continued to look like they did offensively because they were supposed to be better with with with Jalen Waddle. And and the new weapons they got. And he was supposed to be a big time factor in his offense. Evan Ingram. He factored in. He had to touch it down in the game. But I think everybody was expecting more explosiveness from this offense and it just wasn't there. So obviously there's going to be a conversation. There's going to be questions all week for Sean Payton and Davis Webb. Like do you continue to let Davis Webb learn on the job and learn while the season may become a lot more dire. They have a really difficult schedule coming up. They play the Rams. I think they play the the Niners. I think they played the Jacksonville Jaguars.
They play some really difficult teams that that could easily beat them if they play like they did tonight. So I don't know. There's some concern for me with these Denver Broncos. And if you're Kansas City Chiefs fan. I know everybody else in the league is like. The chiefs are back again. I mean, I'm sorry to say it, but it looks like that's true. Andy Reed is about to do it again with a great running game. Some really fast and explosive receivers. And of course Travis Kelsey. Travis Kelsey is still battling. Father time had a had a 60 something yard run. And hey, you got to give him credit. He's out here still being crafty. Still doing his job. Got open made an explosive play almost scored on that play. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know how he keeps doing it. I don't know how the Kansas City Chiefs keep doing it. They have great scouting. They have great. Personnel development development team because these guys, these young guys, they draft come in ready to play ready to make an impact when they get rid of two two guys who played in.
I think three super bowls. And then just reload more corners who go out there and look like they did not miss a beat and spags is calling it like he has always called it. You got to tip your cap cap off to this team. And on the other side, a defense that has been dominant is missing one of the best pass rushes in the league. But still, I don't think you should be giving up 31 points. They couldn't stop the run. They couldn't stop the explosive plays. They weren't getting a ton of pressure on patch my homes when they did. He beat him with his legs. He beat him with his legs multiple times. They called his touchdown back. He turned around and got another touchdown. I mean, patch my homes still got it. And you didn't see any residual impacts of that that knee injury that he's coming off of. He looked good. He looked confident. Obviously, you still have some rust to work off. But man, Monday night football, this started a season was so exciting. It was so action packed so many points way too many points.
I'm a defensive guy way too many points. I think hopefully there's some corrections and teams get things together because if I see another 59 point game from anybody. I don't know. I don't know if I can watch that team. I'm talking so bad about them on this spot, guys. That's for dang short. Football is back folks and you need to change the way you invest in the NFL this season. It's time to finally ditch your old sports book apps because Polymarket is here. Man, what else can I say about this chief team? After everything I saw, the Buffalo Bills got a tough win in Houston, a place they had in one in a long time. The Cincinnati Bangles looked good defensively, caused a lot of turnovers early, scored some points. Joe Burrell didn't have his best game, but he's still Joe Burrell.
So that's still going to be a tough out Baltimore, scoring 41 points. Derek Henry still looks like King Henry. Who is the class of the AFC? I think you still got to put the chiefs in it. I mean, you still, you got the the the the raining AFC champions are the New England Patriots. They did not look great against the Seattle Seahawks. They scored only 10 points in the game. Drake May looked really flustered. Looks like he hadn't figured it out from the Super Bowl and teams keep attacking them in the way that they did. AJ Brown is out for a little while. So I don't think they're the class of the AFC right now, even though they're the raining in the AFC champions. The Jacksonville Jaguars have a case. I mean, that receiving core is as deadly and dangerous as any receiver for international football league. That defense is as aggressive and opportunistic as any defense with Josh Allen. Josh Allen, Heinz Allen, Travon Walker, Louacan, they they have some playmakers back there and obviously our guy Travis Hunter is going to be going to be making an impact this season.
Hmm. I don't know. I don't know. I just it's hard to bet against Kansas City Chiefs when patching my homes is under center in East healthy. And now they have an incredible run game. The defense looks incredible. I'm I still I feel like the Kansas City Chiefs may it. There were question marks coming in. I couldn't put them in the top five without seeing what patch my homes and what the plan was going forward. But what I think they're going to make a debut in my top five power rankings this week because of how well they played this week. And I don't think it's a fluke. This was a sustainable way to play football. Great defense, great run game. Look for explosives in a passing game. Catch people off guard. And he reading patched my homes dead deadly combination. Now you gave him an explosive running back. Good luck. Who is aFC is going to be fun to watch. Their football is going to be fun to watch for that matter. I know this is going to be a great season. It's already been a great season outside of too many points being scored.
But the next game this week will be us in Buffalo in the new stadium with the Buffalo Beals. Playing the Detroit Lions. Getting to watch Josh Allen. Continue his MVP campaign. Can a Detroit Lions shake off whatever that was in the second half versus the New Orleans Saints. We will see. Check out TNF tonight at 7 p.m. Eastern 4 p.m. Pacific. I will be there. You be there or be square as always. Preach it. You're joining me. You could be anywhere in the world. But you're here with me and I will see you there.
