You said they normally try to issue that kill shot around the 12-minute mark. Well, it's much later than that Florida State's hanging around, but Duke has gone on a big run to reclaim the lead.
Yeah, it was a delay kill shot. Right now on a 9-0 run with a minute 54, you want to expand that out there on a 16-2 run with four over the last four minutes and 15 seconds. They made four consecutive shots. They're up 67-61, 830 remaining, and they have a rock. So they could really add to this. Florida State's got to stop the profuse bleeding and immediately to get back in this thing. But yeah, Duke is finally woke up. Isaiah Evans is a guy that's really responsible for the comeback. He's got 29 in this game, 6 of 12 from distance, 10 to 16 from the floor overall in 30 minutes of play. I mean, that's peak efficient. He asked me to score nearly a point per minute. Can't booze it with 18 points and 9 rebounds. It's another day of the office for him. But 67-61, 818 remaining. I think if Florida State's got to win this game, they've got to get a stop on this possession, which I'm watching live right now.
By the way, shout out to YouTube TV. This is what the quad box was made for. I mean, this is just a wonderful, I got four games on simultaneously here at Casa de Evans. And I'm enjoying every single second. By the way, then, and one from Duke 69 is 61. It's about all she wrote for Florida State. And we have 759 remaining. Yikes. Yeah, I just saw it happen. Somebody hit one of these in the crowd. That stupid celebration. Yeah, this was a 59-51 game. So that means this is an 18-to-2 run and counting for Duke. I mean, you mentioned the runs 16-to-2. Now it's 18-to-2 with a free throw coming. The seminals, man, they gave us a good effort. But it looks like it's all over, but the shouting here for the blue devils. But hey, Florida State was a big number. They were supposed to lose this game by like 16 or 17 points. So hopefully they keep that one. Hopefully they keep it closed out totally, you know, wet their pants here.
By the way, I have the Houston BYU game that just went to a TV time that as well. The Cougars in a battle with BYU, but they battled back. They were down as many as seven points late in the first half. And now Houston leads 59-55 with 7-42 left to go in the game. And Brad, I've been watching this one closely here in all the commercial breaks. BYU is becoming entirely reliant upon AJ Debonsat, this part of the football game. Every possession, he's either taken a shot or Houston's double teaming him and forcing him to go up the rock. He's got 23 points. He's got five rebounds. He's got a 10 for the free throw line. Only one other player on BYU has got double digit scoring. And that's Robert Wright III who I think did almost all of that scoring in the first half. So nobody else on BYU is stepping up right now. Keba Keita. He got himself an early foul trouble. He's only played 20 minutes. Alexi Costich hit two threes late in the first half as part of that big BYU run. He hasn't really even seen the floor since then.
But it's Houston's main names that are getting it done. Kingston Fleming's who's going to be a top 10. If not a top five pick in the draft, the sensational freshman's got 14 points. Joseph Tuggler's got 10 points. And Milo Suzan and Emmanuel Sharp, they've actually struggled. They've only got seven points each and they're a combined four for 17 from the field. Those two guys, but right now BYU's got no offense outside of AJ Debonsat. They are sorely missing Richie Saunders, which we knew was going to be a problem when he went down for the end of the year. Yeah, I mean, the offense is still great, you know, for the most part. You know, on a per-possession basis, look at all the advanced data that's out there. Look at the eye test. They get score and score prolifically. Again, the biggest issue for BYU was defense. And this is how Houston plays. They don't usually go out there and lay the smackdown on anybody. They grind it on the half-court. Their office is like St. John's. It's very suspect. They have these epic droughts put them ball through basket,
but because of their defensive chops, like the Johnny's, they're always hanging on and hanging around in any kind of game. And, you know, usually keep teams at arm's distance. At the point, I ended up winning this thing between like six to ten points. When it's all said down, but up 59, 55 right now at the botsa. Just making the number one overall pick already. 23 points in this game. Six to fourteen from the floor. Overall, two to four from three. Not a tenth of a free throw line. Five rebounds, two assists. He does have the five turnovers. And that's what Houston does. That all ball pressure. Man, they're relentless. That's why I call them the zombie horror. They just keep coming after you. By the way, as I was talking Robert Wright just hit another layup. It's now 59 to 57. And that's all BYU is. There are two main team right now. It's right. And that's our Davis. I can e-step up. I keep it. As you mentioned, can e-step up more of a defensive enforcer?
That will ultimately decide where they're going to go in the NCAA tournament. Which I feel, again, they're going to be lucky to win a single game likely as a six. Or number seven. See, but Houston, 59, 57, 62 to go with the big 12 tournament. And Kingston Fleming's coming alive in the second half. Game overall. Yeah, all right. We got about two minutes here. So you could take this whatever direction you want. I know you said earlier in the show. You like TCU to upset Kansas tonight. Big one Clemson, North Carolina. Clemson is small favorite. No Caleb Wilson again for North Carolina. Or it can react any of the earlier games that we haven't hit on yet with Virginia beating NC state. Purdue blown out Northwestern. Whatever direction you want to take this one in, brother. Go ahead. Yeah, let's talk about some of the games tonight. Kansas, like St. John's. Like Houston, putting both of the basket is a struggle. 315. Effect a few goal percentage offense here last 30 days. Despite excellent defense.
I think TCU, the one of the best rebounding teams in the country could own them on the glass. I like them at plus one 70 right now on the money line on New Mexico. We haven't talked about them. They got a gift as you described it through the break. Again, San Jose State who sprung the upset last night. It gets a team that I picked as a sleeper with a Mount West Conference tournament. Womp, Womp, a Boise State. You're out. You're lost by 10 to the not so mighty Spartans of San Jose State. So in a Mexico lane 15 and a half, they're squarely on the bubble. They got to go out and they got a DDT. They got a body slam in the competition. I'd lay it, man. I think New Mexico will do exactly that and win with authority to try to prove. They're wins above bubble. And St. Louis tomorrow is an interesting game. It's at the book crack at dawn for those of you that may get after it on late night tip tonight. It's at 11.30 a.m. Eastern time 10.30 a.m. Central. The Lou interesting team playing George Washington. I kind of like George Washington this one plus the six and a half.
St. Louis loved them about three weeks ago. They started a slough here down the stretch. We don't know what version we're going to get. 8 10 need to watch that conference closely folks that tournament. A bit stealer could emerge. So if you're right now on the backside of the bubble and you're feeling a little bit sweaty and uncomfortable. That league could cause you whether you're in or you're out this Sunday, which is selection Sunday. So watch out for the 8 10. That's right, baby. We got one more show tomorrow before a selection Sunday. It's going to be electric tomorrow. Cannot wait. Brad enjoy the rest of the hoops tonight, brother. We'll bid you do. I will fall asleep at roughly 3 a.m. Peace. And Brad's ILL taking the court tomorrow in the big 10 quarter finals. That'll be a big one. Hopefully he's in a joyous mood. All right. We'll talk in John Asselbert. We're coming up next. Talk to the players. This is Woodward Sports. Why'd I go to the doctor?
Working on the farm, my heart kept skipping a beat. I didn't think much of it. But my daughters made me get checked out. Turns out I have atrial fibrillation, which increases the risk of stroke about five times. Symptoms like a regular heartbeat, heart racing, chest pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, or light head and this could come and go. But if it's a fib, the risk of stroke remains. If you have symptoms, contact a doctor. I'm so glad I did. Visit notimetoweight.com, sponsored by Bristol Myers Quib and Pfizer. Wendy's has a new Girl Scout thin mince frosty fusion.
